Oh man... :o)
Imagine a plastic barrel full of markers, colored paper, googly eyes (different sizes yet), pipe cleaners, fuzzy balls, cut out shapes, glitter, sequins, popsicle sticks...okay, there is more, but we haven't reached the bottom of the barrel yet. Basically, it's full of cool stuff that kids LOVE to goof around with. It's messy, and you'll be picking up sequins and various "shiney" things for days, but the kids will be absorbed for at least an hour, if not more.

We're homeschoolers, and when we don't feel like doing "formal" art, it's so much fun to pull out the giant barrel and say, "Okay, get the glue!" :oD

This is great!
The kids can really be creative with this, and the adults can have fun, too! There are plenty of each item in the barrel, so you can complete many different crafts. This would be a great birthday or holiday present. Just get some glue, and you're ready to go! ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars This is pretty cool
when you first get batteries it flies good it will stay in the air for a while. But when the batteries start to go out itstarts to suck. The air hogs dominator is really durable to I craashed it a bunch and only got a few battle scars on it. but over all this is a pretty cool toy.
P.S Don't get dollar tree batteries like my mom did it will start dying after about two flites.

4-0 out of 5 stars Best flying RC plane yet!
After my nephew saw the Dominator commercial he was dying for a Dominator. So I bought it. Well out of all the RC planes I've tried, this has been the easiest to learn. You can't miss it in the sky since the plane body is huge and the control is reasonable for the price. Compared to the other stealth looking planes in the stores, this by far was the best in price. Overall, my nephew adored the plane, it provided a decent time period of flight. I recommend purchasing this plane for any child who likes RC products and outdoor fun. Great plane!

3-0 out of 5 stars ok..... not really
well i bought this for my friends birthday and the next day i came over and we went to a field and started to fly it. WARNING LANDING SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! as u can see the lands is horrible but it can fly for a good amount of time. but if u even try to land it it will twirl in the air and go head first into the ground. I would not buy it

3-0 out of 5 stars All planes a series of compromises, this is no exception
The new Air Hogs Dominator is an interesting RC plane, way off in a corner of the design space.I am a fan of low-aspect ratio designs, and this plane certainly demonstrates the advantages and disadvantages of low-aspect ratio airplanes.

The airframe seems incredibly rugged. While the tails are potentially breakable, the wing is fat and seems quite strong. The low-aspect ratio design leads toa plane with reasonable wing area, but still a very small wingspan -- so that it can fit in a normal-sized box fully assembled. The thickness of the wing allows it to be very strong while just made out of the cheapest, lightest foam.

On the other hand, the plane doesn't glide very well, with a glide ratio of maybe 5.This means that when you shut the engines down, it sinks like a rock. This is maybe not such a bad thing, though -- it's not going to sail away from youlike some RC gliders. The extremely small size (and basically equilateral-triangle shape) makes it somewhat difficult to determine which way the plane is flying. When it's a couple of hundred feet away it becomes quite difficult to see.

The differential throttle control is weak. Now, many RC crashes are due to over-control -- that can't happen with this plane. The plane treats control inputsas suggestions more than commands. This lack of strong control means that you really want to fly this plane in an extremely large field -- and launch it from the center.Don't for a minute think that you can toss this plane off a cliff (say) and get it back to the takeoff spot -- at least not until you have a lot ofexperience with this plane.I've flown a lot of RC, and this is by far the hardest plane I've flown to get to a particular spot.

The plane really wants to spiral.Again, as you don't want to have it get too far away from you, maybe that's not a bad thing. The control is iffy enough, too, that it's very easy for the plane to get downwind of you in any kind of breeze.I wouldn't fly it in more than a five mph wind.

The low L/D of this design means that you run through the batteries pretty quickly, I would say that my longest flight so far has been about 3 minutes.

Still, it's fun. It's so easy to toss in the car, toss into the air, and fly.The props seem reasonably well protected -- although I've only flown the plane in long grass (and would recommend that that be the only place to fly it.)It's cheap, simple, seems rugged, and has a cuteness factor that can't be ignored. As I've said, I'm prejudiced toward low-aspect ratio designs, it's fun to play with one.

I'll write a long-term review in a few weeks.

2-0 out of 5 stars Fun....but tuff to controll
I got this toy a day ago, I took it out to fly it and I was having fun until it started going straight and I was using the controller to make it go right and it just kept going straight. Then after it went straight for a while, it just started to go in circles and I couldn't controll it. 5-0 out of 5 stars You can wait til May 19...
...or you could get this now and see tons of footage from Return of the Sith [sic] a few weeks early. That's really the only reason I bought it, and I was not disappointed in the slightest. Many questions are in the form of a movie clip, and there are quite a few questions on Episode 3. And none of it is from the 11/04 teaser trailer or regular trailer that's been out for months. Though if you really want to see these clips, you're best off just playing the DVDs, rather than actually playing round after round of TP with them...

5-0 out of 5 stars Okay, so I couldn't possibly have played it yet.But C'MON!
Sure, it's not even out yet and I'm rating the holy hell out of it.But C'MON!Imagine if the original Star Wars Trivial Pursuit and the game Scene It had a kid together...There's no way it wouldn't be great!

5-0 out of 5 stars WWE Smackdown vs. Raw for PlayStation 2
This is about the best game ever. I loved it and every thing about it is the best. This is a want game!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Ultimate!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Smackdown vs Raw is the coolest game I've ever seen!!!!!!<br /> When I got Smackdown here comes the pain, I thought it was the best game ever! until Smackdown vs Raw came out!!!!!!! It has the best graphics.<br /> What I like best is the superstar voice overs and playing online. <br /> This game is INCREDIBLE!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars WWE SmackDown! vs RAW: Superb Wrestling Game.
Intro: WWE SmackDown! vs RAW is a wrestling video game for the Playstation 2, developed by THQ and Yukes. It is rated 'T' for Teen, for sexual themes, language, lyrics, and most obvious, violence.<br /> <br /> Gameplay: The gameplay is just like the previous title of the astonishing SmackDown! series, Here Comes the Pain, and has a new move position: sit position. This enables each wrestler to have more moves in their respective arsenal.<br /> <br /> There is also 3 all-new mini-thingies: chop battle, a meter-based chop contest in the corner of the ring, stare contest, which is at the start of the match to somehow sees who gets the early advantage, and shove contest, also a meter-based contest at the start of the match and sees who gets the advantage.<br /> <br /> And, if you've played any EA Sports games (such as Madden), there is an all-new Challenge mode which challenges you to about 60 different challenges, for example, make Shawn Michaels tap out of the sharpshooter or beat Undertaker within 3 minutes. You can use the money/credits you've earned to purchase legends, arenas, alternate attires, etc. from the WWE Shopzone, returning from it's 4 year absence since No Mercy.<br /> <br /> Also returning from absence since PSOne's SmackDown!2: Know Your Role, an improved Create-A-PayPerView, which enables you to create your dream card, choose your commentary, wrestlers, and arena!<br /> <br /> Also new in this highly-anticipated game, Create-A-Belt, which haves you use money made in challenge mode to create championships to defend against other players in the Create-A-PPV mode.<br /> <br /> Graphics/Presentation: All wrestlers have been given more polygons (geek-talk for little shapes in an object) for awesome detail. The presentation has been greatly enhanced with re-designed entrances and moves, and more importantly, a great TV-style camera angle.<br /> <br /> Sound: Speaking of sound, and speaking of speaking, SmackDown! vs RAW has taken wrestling gaming to an all-new level by adding authentic superstar voiceovers and authentic commentary! THQ has also listened to it's fans, and now they have purchased the use of licenced theme songs.<br /> <br /> Replayability: This looks like a very, very fabulous game, and it looks as if the Challenge mode has taken gaming in general to a whole new level, by entering this in a wrestling game. This one will be one to remember....

4-0 out of 5 stars Smackdown 6
Wow this is such a huge game. Right now im thinking the creators of this game have done there best in trying to put together a next generation game, and they have suceeded in there accomplishments. Though there is one thing i know of so far that they should have an ring anouncer for this game. Besides that this is basicly the best game i have ever seen in my life. When smackdown here comes the pain first came out i thoght it was the best but the only problem with that is that i didnt have the chance to go and get it, but i were going crazy for it. Then i got it after playing it over my friends house some x amount of times. After that it didnt seem so hot to me but it was still a very good game.I beat it enough times and unlock almost everthing except maybe two people i wasnt interested in. But now smackdown 6 comes out and i cant believe what the creators have done with it but thank you and may god bless you. I hope for many more to come because i have had every one and every year they are geting better and better thank you. I will make sure to buy this game from Target for posting me review thanks target. ... Read more

Editorial Review

Voted a Best Party Game of the Year by Games magazine, Wise and Otherwise belongs next to Pictionary and Scrabble in your arsenal of fun. This creative, interactive game (read: everybody shouting, flailing, laughing) revolves around 500 cards, each emblazoned with five obscure and long-forgotten sayings from around the world. For example, one old Chinese saying is, "Don't add salt to a boatload of salt fish." One side of the card states, "Don't add salt to..."and it is the job of the players to devise probable endings. "Don't add salt to salty soup," for example. Or, "Don't add salt to the open wound." (The actual endings are listed on the flip sides of the cards.) A player wins points when other players vote for his or her special ending, or when the player guesses the actual ending, so the goal is to finish the proverb as convincingly as possible given the geographic region in question. Each elegant box contains one game board, 500 cards, six writing pads, six pencils, one die, and six player pawns. People who love language, oddly hilarious translations, offbeat proverbs, or just making people look foolish by guessing their very clever answers will adore this game. We predict: The one who plays this game ... will hear the laughter. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful game, despite the price.
For some reason, when I first saw this game I thought it was a bit overpriced for the what it was. However, with the amount of phrases on the cards and the enjoyment it has brought to many of our gatherings, this game was well worth the investment.

Just to inventory the contents... you get with the game a game board, 6 game pieces, 6 pads, 1 die, 1 box or cards... and, most importantly, 6 sharpened pencils. ;)

In terms of game play, this game is the best "bluff 'em" type game on the market, hands down. It's very similar to Malarkey or Balderdash, but deals specifically with proverb and sayings from all around the world. Though the box says 2-6 players, after playing it on several occasions, we thought it best played with at least 4 people.

I would definitely recommend this game for the avid game player, who normally find themselves hosting get-togethers with their witty and imaginative friends. Don't be surprised if you find yourself laughing uncontrollable, throughout, at the proverbs your friends concoct.

5-0 out of 5 stars A really great game for all ages
We've played Wise and Otherwise a number of times now with friends varying in age from 9 to 75, and all have found it very enjoyable. It's surprising how much fun younger players (age 9 to 12) have trying to outsmart the adults--and how funny it can be when they succeed.

The old proverbs are very enticing and stimulate everyone's creativity. The end result is usually raucous laughter. This is a completely non-threatening, enjoyable activity for any family gathering. If there are more than six people you can play in teams, which makes it even better. END

Hysterical!!!
This is a great game, expect hysterics from everyone concerned. If you can manage to retain your ability to speak while you play, you are in good shape. My husband and I played with a bunch of our friends who were also in our wedding party. Our wedding favors were fortune cookies with customized fortunes so we used sayings that our friends had come up with during various games. The guests were confused, but we were amused all the same.

Don't know about the 12 and above . . .
We actually played with six people, three of them being 6, 8 and 9. Talk about real hilarity!!! These kids came up with unbelievable endings we would never have guessed. It was lots of fun. Truly, we cried with laughter at almost every turn!

Laughed so hard we cried!
The first time we played this game, 6 people (grown adults) were in tears laughing at the absurdity of some of our responses! We continued in this gasping for air style of play for about 3 more rounds before we calmed down enough to get into more of the subtleties of the game. It is at times hilarious, thought provoking and insightful of those you play with. How funny or insightful depends on the players' effort, but if you are truly trying to win, you'll be surprised how many people you can fool with bogus phrase endings. I highly recommend this game! ... Read more

Hi everyone my name is Holly and I got this scooter a little over a month ago and I absoultly adore it.The 1st time I got it I rode it for at least an hour and I thought this was the best thing I ever got. This scooter brought me lots of joy and if you buy it I'm sure you will enjoy it to. Bye bye

5-0 out of 5 stars no better bang for buck
I've ridden a lot of electric vehicles. I don't believe there's a better deal. It has a 350 watt motor which is enough to get my 180 lbs up around 16 mph- which is fine for getting around town. for your $200 it's pretty bare bones. there are no shocks or front brake. this scooter will be fine for most people, unless you have to ride up a big hill. if you do have to go up big hills, you're going to need 600 watts which can be found in a $500 scooter (along with bigger batteries, front shocks and brakes). other great sites about scooters are visforvoltage.com and electric-scooter-world.com. i've played around with mine and added another smaller pair of batteries to extend the range to over 10 miles. if you have one and want to know how i did it, email me jon_ando@hotmail.com

I live about a mile from work on paved and dirt road. This scooter is terrific for that trip. Saves fuel and goes on a road my car cannot go. What a find! I added a mirror and a small tire pump by Schwinn. I may add a front basket for grocery shopping so I need not take the car up the street for that either. Thank you. Excellent product.

I'm an adult, and clicking on toys "for adults" has shown me a mixed bag of scooters and bikes, mostly for young children and toddlers.
I would love to rate my scooter, but I would have to buy, own, and
use one in order to review it. PLEASE list ADULT "TOYS" under the headung of 'adult toys'. Also EXTREMELY IMPORTANT is knowing what WEIGHT can any (each and every) scooter carry without impairing its
function. (Top weight of owner-rider).
CAN YOU ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS? WITHOUT CLEAR DATA I CANNOT BUY A SCOOTER FOR MYSELF OR FOR ANY ADULT OR CHILD I WOULD LIKE TO. THANKS ... Read more

The iQuest handheld provides a customized learning experience that revolutionizes the way students study for tests and quizzes--by making the process fun, fast, and effective. iQuest is the hip handheld that prepares students for tests in math, science, and social studies with study questions based on their textbooks. 5-0 out of 5 stars THE COOLEST STRUDY GUIDE THERE IS AND WILL EVER BE!!!
The Iquest Handheld and the new edition are the coolest things ever made!!! I got the older edition when I was is 6th grade. Im now in 8th. I LOVED IT! Now with the new edition its not as big and bulky and it has a cool look that you can personalize with nameplates! <br /> The Iquest gave me a reason to study and I didnt have to read all those long tedious chapters I once did.<br /> PARENTS THE IQUEST IS GREAT AND WORTH ALL THE MONEY! I GUARENTEE THAT IF YOUR CHILD DOESNT LIKE TO STUDY, HE/SHE WILL AFTER JUST LOOKING AT THE IQUEST! ITS A GREAT X-MAS PRESENT TOO!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for Middle Schoolers
My kids and their love the iquest. They can sit for hours learning and having fun. We tried it with the online downloads atfirst. My son's were available while he was in middle school and that worked really well. I found that I had to disable all the other palm pilots and devices for the downloads to work but then it went real easy. If you are going to download the materials I would definitly suggest buying the bigger cartridge and if you have more than one child using it I would get one cartridge for each child. My daughter has different textbooks than my son did and they weren't available so we substituted other books from the website list and she studied from them, it worked pretty well but was more work. We still use the iquest but we buy the cartridges instead of downloading. I am amazed at how much it still gets used! My daughter has her address book filled in with all her friends' phone numbers and she uses the dictionary quite a bit as well.

5-0 out of 5 stars iQuest
I think this is a wonderful learning toy. It is very easy to use. One of the features the iQuest has is a built in Marriam-Webster 75,000 word dictoinary. My favorite thing to do on the iQuest is the chapter challenge. The iQuest comes with a cartrige for the levels 5-8 grades. You can pick which level you want after you select the game you would like. I also find the iQuest to be very convenient because there is a calender and a schedule were you can put the time in and what you need to do, there is an address book, and any time you need to look up someting in the dictionary, you can just type the word in and you can adjust the volume to 0 to 100. Additional features are pop quiz, notepad options and setup, and calculater. I think this would also be helfull to adults. I really enjoyed this toy, and I think you will to. I rated this item 5 stars for durablity because I think this toy will last a long time if you take care of it. The iQuest takes 4 AA batteries.

5-0 out of 5 stars Absolutely wonderful!
I got one of these for my son last year, and it has been an amazing tool for him both to study with, and to look up words with. It doesn't completely replace a good dictionary but it's very portable and easy for him to use. The only problem I've had with it is that my 8 year old is more interested in her big brother's iQuest then in his gameboy, and tends to bother him incessantly when studying! I guess I need to get her one of her own. Great product.
I also find it incredibly amusing that the bad review I read about it used the word knot instead of not.

5-0 out of 5 stars the greatest toy ever

The Pixter is like a personal digital assistant (PDA) for kids. But instead of storing boring appointments and phone numbers, they get to draw, do puzzles, and learn a little, too. The Pixter is about the size of a small book, and has a pretty solid weight to it. It's made out of brightly colored and durable plastic. The main action of this toy is drawing with an attached stylus. The Color Pixter offers much better graphics then the black and white version, which comes in handy with activities like Paint-by-Numbers and Connect-the-Dots. You can draw a picture free form, or you can use one of the starter backgrounds. There are tool buttons, like on a PDA, that give you access to fun stamps, special effects, and the eraser button. You can also save your creation in the Pixter's memory. There are some boppy tunes playing along with all this creative activity, but luckily for parents, there's also a jack for headphones and a volume adjuster. An expansion slot on top of the Pixter accepts ROM-based expansion cards that contain additional software and games. Requires 4 "AA" batteries. (Not included.) --Megan Sullivan ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Has entertained my child for 3 years!
We first bought our pixter in 2001 while taking our 4 year old on a three week trip to Europe. It entertained her the ENTIRE time. We even had people coming up to us to take pictures of her playing it because she was so quiet for such a young child! Of course, the next year, we upgraded to the 2.0 version (giving her old one to her cousin). She still plays with it constantly. We have a large variety of software (which I buy on sale every so often) that she keeps attached to the carrying case (I do recommend, it keeps everything in one place and is handy to carry everywhere) in a small mess bag I had. She plays it with or without the sound depending on where we are. I asked her if she wanted a gameboy or a pixter 2.0 in color for Christmas and she immediately said Pixter! It's much more imaginative and allows her to be creative. It also is great for us to play games while trying to pass time like when we are waiting at a doctor's office. We can draw, play tic-tac-toe, bingo, etc... and she doesn't make a fuss. She loves it so much, that she shows every kid she sees how it works and lets them play. It does wear the more she plays, but what doesn't? Her current one has lasted for over two years with almost daily use. All ours have lasted through tons of train, plane and automobile rides, many of them over 10 hours in length. I would definitely buy it for the 3-7 year range. I'm sure the older children may not get as much entertainment out of it as they would other systems. We'll be buying her the color version for Christmas this year!

Pixter-Color
Great toy better that the monochrome version. However, it lacks durability. My 5 year old son got one as a christmas present in 03'. We have had to exchanged it 3 times in 8 months. The primary problem been accuracy of the touch pad. Even after recaliburation the accuracy slightly improves if at all. There is no place for light as in the previous version. My son loves it when it works but gets very frustrated when it doesn't.

Broken on the second day....
We used to own the pixter but it quit working after just a few months (I was disappointed but assumed that it was just my child's overuse/rough handling) so we thought we would upgrade to the color pixter as they had since been released. We should have learned from our mistakes about the durability of this product. My daughter had it out of the box for not even 24 hours, it slipped out of her hands onto the floor, and the screen cracked and the product no longer works. This drop was only 12 inches to the floor. This is quite an expensive toy to not be able to withstand more. My children own gameboys and have dropped them numerous times and even left them in the car on a hot day, and they still work. In fact, my friend's child left his out in the rain and after drying it out, it continued to work! I am truly disappointed with the inability of the Pixter to stand up to a child's environment. I would think twice before buying this toy.

Not a satisfied customer!!!
I purchased a Color Pixter for my neice's 5th Birthday. She already owns and loves her Leapster so I figured she'd really enjoy the Pixter. Before I gave it to her I myself tried it out and honestly thought it was kind of neat but a bit limited. I know the Leapster talks to you and the Pixter doesn't. For over $80 this thing should talk. Anyway, I give it to her and she literally had it out of the box for 5 minutes and I look over and the screen has been scratched beyond belief!! I know for a fact she used nothing but the stylus on the screen. Obviously she pressed too hard which they do warn you about in the owner's manual but lets be reasonable! She did exactly what she usually does to the Leapster and the Pixter can't withstand anything but a very gentle touch which is not what you're going to get from 4 and 5 yr olds. This is not the quality that I expected. She's not a destructive child with her toys. She's had the Leapster since Christmas, has no problems with it and loves it. I had read the reviews that these Pixters don't seem to hold up very well but for heavens sake...I paid well over $100 for this thing along with another software cartridge to use with it and it's in her posession for literally 5 minutes and this is how it holds up?? Fischer Price states that this toy is for ages 4 or 5 and up but take heed!! Unless you're buying this unit for a child who's older, I would not recommend it. In fact, I don't recommend buying it at all. I do highly recomment buying a Leapster and then buying the "Draw and Learn" software cartridge for about $25. It's very nice, and the Leapster is extremely durable. If I'd known they even made such a cartridge for the Leapster, I wouldn't have even bought the Color Pixter in the first place. Anyway, I returned the merchandise and recieved a full refund so no harm done but just a warning to all. When they say the screens will scratch, they're not kidding and it doesn't take much to scratch them. The Leapsters the way to go....hands down.

A nother *GREAT* toy,
Hey ya people. I bought one of these things and I say it is the best toy ever! O.K. here is the detales about this toy: 1:There is tons of other feachers on this than the first one. So don't go out and buy the older one. (It will bored to death!) 2: It is color. (duh,I don't know why I put that.) And the old one is, well, black and white. Witch can sometimes stran your eyes. 3: There is better games included with the color. For instince, pick a seane and draw and put stamps and stuff. create words and put them as stamps. (witch is cool.) color the number. Draw by yourself. And conect the dots. wonce you conect the dots a mini show like-thingie will have to do some thing about the picture. 4: Now this is about the batteries. Well, I played it A LOT and I repeat A LOT and STILL HAVEN'T HAD TO CHANGE THE BATTERIES! And to tell you it takes four of those batteries. 5: Here is a kind of cool feature. It tures off when you don't play with it after a while. 6: It can take both black and white softwere and color softwere. So make sure you have the adapter. And wene you want a color softwere make shure you pick up a color one beacause I picked up a black and white one on accident. That's all about the stuff about it! About the learning, well what I think is educational is if you don't have paper at home you can use it whoa, I was talking about education, It teaches you to be a good artest. Durability, you know you wouldn't want to damage a PDA for kids. I don't know what will happen but DON'T TRY IT! It also makes a prefect gift for Chistmas! So go out and buy it! You will be satisfied and so will your kids. Oh goodie! I got more things about this toy! You can save one, I repeat ONE piture or something you can save in a file. Which is a drag beacause you want to save more than ONE. And I tried to set the volum because it was noisey and it got scrachey. Eventually, it didn't scratch no more. And if you look on the bottom, you can put headphones. Which to me is nice. And once you get your pixter color, just follow the dierections you ain't going to be confusied. There are SIMPLE! Later dudes and evreybody else! P.S. Hope this review helped you! A LOT! ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Boy meets Girl,Boy loses self,Girl searches for Boy
At a glance, one might think of this game and it's prequel as a whole as a mix between Charlie's Angels, Sailor Moon, Grandia 2 and Breath of Fire 2(but who that one is I won't say). Well, it is but that's not a bad thing. I'll explain what I mean by that. Three spunky girls (signifigantly less than the Sailor Scouts/Soldiers, I know, but equal to those who bring Heaven to Earth)search for a lost love but uncover an ancient threat born of Man's ignorance and hostility (War's bad, m'kay?)opposed by the heroine and her beau in a previous life(sort of like Usagi/Serena and the Tuxedo Mask/Prince Darren guy did in the the Moon Kingdom assisted by the proto-Sailor Soldiers )which a group of dreamy guys and a dippy female rival are wrapped up in for their own reasons. They change clothing alot, too, also using magic gems with memories stored on them. Yeah, I know, standard fare for Japanese girl's comics just as Final Fantasy X had much in common with the usual boy's manga/anime and a story midway between the aforementioned RPGs and even a few Marvel and DC comics(you've been praying to the 'Devil' all along/what you thought was the solution was the problem. Long live Despero/Thanos/Galactus/Gaint gaseous wanna-be diety!)but originality is highly overrated anyway. It's the execution that matters most and it's here that it delivers in spades. The new fusion of real-time and turn based action introduces a timing based stategy element to the series that it sorely needed (I dozed off one time playing the original. I may have been sleep deprieved already, but it's montony didn't help matters any), allowing one an almost Grandia-like level of freedom to choose the way one will pick their foe apart, defeating enemies with pre-emptive combos (one gripe some have with the Grandia series, but that's the whole point. It works to a lesser extent in FF Tactics, as well...no combos...a proper stategy can bring the highest degree of success with a minimum of damage to one's character)or randomly wailing away on lower level opponents, whatever suits one's playing style. The Dresspheres are, more or less, a much slower version of the character cycling system first seen in Breath of Fire 4 then in Final Fantasy X, that is if one doesn't toggle the Spherechange sequences to abridged form or off, or the Dragon Morphing of Panzer Dragoon Saga/Orta,but the same character changes ablities sets and apperances while retaining the experience level of the previous mode...sort of like Mega Man does but alot more elaborate in both design and implementation. Graphically, the game is about on par with Metal Gear Solid 2(almost)until the cinema scenes play, then one can be teased with X-Box quality visuals, making one wonder why in the world Square-Enix insisted on (until Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles came out on the GameCube)remaining loyal to Sony (like they didn't with Nintendo),losing millions in sales instead of making games for all three console game systems. Soundwise, it's a mix between standard to great J-Pop, a few tunes reminscent of Panzer Dragoon Saga(especially Zanarkand Ruins)and vaguely operatic themes. Some may be disappointed by the lack of the familiar FF FanFare, but keep in mind that it's an optional sequel, not it's own opus,a continuation, not a stand-alone. Storywise, what there is, won't appeal to players who didn't enjoy or couldn't tolerate the Legend of Mana's layout or Sailor Moon/Super Archies, being fed story events and info little-by-little, sometimes delicious, sometimes bland and unpaletable, but over-all fun so long as one leaves it as a blind taste test...in other words-don't use guides except for repeat playthroughs which the ChronoTrigger/Cross style New Game+ accomodates.Don't worry about not being able to import your chosen name for Tidus(Lucifer, in my case) as they cleverly refer to him by inspecific titles like "You-know-who" to keep from spoiling it for fans of the prequel. One last thing that needs to be said is this: Final Fantasy X-2 is not the first Final Fantasy to feature a female main character as FF6 had Terra for the first half, Celes for the second, but it is the first to feature gender exclusivity since the very first all-male outing(no pun intended). Final Fantasy X-2=XX(as in the chromosomes...pun intended but not by me.)!
Now, for an update: Maybe my 4-star vote was a tad hasty before. Many months have passed since I last played. I just got bored with all of the sparkly things flashing across my screen, giggling airheads(Paine, you sold me out...just like Daria Morgandorfer!) and dull, skeletal Bishoujo-'inspired'storyline, leaving it unfinished at roughly 95%. I just can't muster the enthusiasm the play it again. If you desperately want a videogame with a strong main female character, try The Misadventures of Tron Bonne(PS1), Beyond Good and Evil(all),XenoSaga(PS2),Final Fantasy 6(see review),Deception 3(kind of), any Tomb Raider game, Resident Evil(any of them), Metroid Prime(GC), Eternal Darkness(GC)and Metal Gear Solid 2(kidding!)for starters. Beware though, except for TR, the cheesecake content is far below the ManShow-recommended quantities. It was still nice to see a scantily-clad heroine in an RPG for once instead of the usual beefcake/boytoy eye-candy...I liked Tidus, but that's what he was!

5-0 out of 5 stars FFX-2 is a great idea!!
I just want to say something...Anyone who opposes this idea is not I repeat NOT a Final Fantasy fan...True fans (in my opinion) would like to have a sequal every now and then. I think it will be really cool to finally have a sequal. Cuz to me this game left off for a good sequal. I want to know why Tidus was swimming and seemed to be so happy. And further I would kinda like to know what Spira is like now that Yevon is basically gone and Machina are now widely used. I know who the last boss is and I kinda wanna fight him :). And all the questions that you may have had from the first one may have been answered. And then the jobs are a good thing because they havent been used in a long time so it's nice for something to come out for some fresh air. I heard there was a new leveling sysem but I don't know about that. Prolly like the rest. Gain EXP and gain levels. And of course you learn abilities from the jobs...The jumping and level environment is a good thing. It kinda helps the game to feel more real. Rather than just running everywhere. Well thats about it. Buh-bye :)

a surprisingly good sequel
how do you make a sequel that can live up to it's predecessor? have three awesome leading ladies with new cool abilities and quests, allow the player to pick his/her own destinations, and throw in superb graphics that surpass final fantasy 10's fan expecatations. even though ff10 would have been fine as a stand-alone game, the sequel isn't even close to as bad as some are saying it is. it may not have a deep, emotional storyline, and gameplay is very lax, letting you roam freely and choose where you go. but that's what makes this a fun game to play if you aren't looking for a headache- you can just play it whenever, without worrying about what's going to happen next. the battles are fun, the characters are awesome, and i think the look of the game is great. my only complaint is that the music got repetitive at times, but that's a minor factor- the rest was wonderful. just don't expect a huge epic adventure like ff9 or ff10, and you can love this game, too!

3-0 out of 5 stars The opposite of Final Fantasy X
Now, after successfully completing Final Fantasy X, I went right out to the Gaming store and bought Final Fantasy X-2, as I deeply loved X. When I put the disk in my drive, I noticed the nice piano music playing. At first, in the game, it was pretty boring, which most games are in the beginning, so naturally, I played on, waiting for the good stuff to happen. To my surprise....It didn't. Honestly, if you hold down X during regular enemy battles, you will win. I guarantee it.

STORY 6/10

Well, the story can probably be told in a few sentances, so let me try. Continuing from FFX, Yuna finds a sphere of tidus, or someone who looks like tidus, and joins to sphere-hunting group "gullwings". Later on, they discover it is NOT tidus, and also that there is an evil machina that New Yevon is hiding from the public, so you and your companions set out to destroy that evil.

Not the best summary, but pretty much gives the gist of it.

SOUND AND MUSIC 6/10

I give a six out of ten because half of the music was good, half sucked, and The sounds were the usual greatness.

Now, the music...Well, the Director of music sure got lazy or something. The battle music seems like the director just hired a professional guitarist and had him play random guitar notes and riffs. So while you are shooting and hacking and slashing, you hear this really annoying guitar noise just blasting over your characters' talking and making jokes, which just adds to the annoyance effect. The boss music is even worse. Sure, they actually have MORE than a guitar, but It really is not very nice to know that it adds up to be a whole four notes played. Yes, four notes, each one accented, blasting over your gameplay and bad joke telling.

However, there are two FMV scenes where Yuna sings. The first one, which can be seen on New Game, Features a Very catchy techo/dance song, which takes a lot of getting used to. The biggest problem during that scene, is in the middle of this pretty cool singing, Two pop-ish guys dressed in really tight cut off jeans and cut off jean shirts suddenly appear, giving frightening boy-band moves off, and thus made me scream the first time.

Summary of Music: Gameplay music is not very good, But the FMV music is phenominal

GAMEPLAY 6.5/10

I will be honest here. The gameplay is not very organized or good at all. I say this for quite a many reasons, and a few will be mentioned below:

1) There is the usual option of Active or Wait on the ATB system, but even if you have the option of Wait, while you are selecting your item or spell, The monsters still attack! why, I do not know...

2) There are so many side quests it is sickening. I promised myself when i got the game to complete it ALL, and after countless hours of random sidequests that would not affect the game were it taken out, I gave up and only beat the game at 74 percent.

3)As mentioned above, most of the enemy battles can be won by holding down the X button. While not producing any challenge at all, It also proves no fun.

4)While most enemy battles prove no challenge or fun, Bosses are different. Near the end, they get to be Insanely challenging, so challenging that you have to level your Characters up to a level higher than you have ever leveled up JUST to beat this boss, and then it turns out that the last boss is much easier, making it possible for you to beat him in 10 minutes with no trouble

5) You learn Many Countless skills, about 5 in total which you can use against enemies and bosses

6)having to watch the dressphere changing over and over again

There ARE some Pros here, believe it or not:

1) some bosses provide adrenaline-pumping action

2) Sometimes provides quite a bit of thinking and a lot of strategy

MENUS AND PUT-TOGETHERS 8/10

While the dressphere idea is very nice, during gameplay it becomes very annoying, watching the same animations over and over again. Even though they have an option of shortening the sequence, it still becomes very annoying. But its pretty fun being able to customize your only three playable characters, so its a pretty great idea, with that minor setback.

Well, once again, there is no equipping armor, just two accessories, but I have grown used to it thanks to Final Fantay VIII and X.

GRAPHICS 9/10

Great graphics. The FMV sequences are stunning, and the mouths ACTUALLY MOVE WITH THE SPEECH NOW!....during the FMV sequences, I mean. The usual nonstop mouth moving is still in here, however.

REPLAY VALUE 5.5/10

When I finished this game, i just started up VI again. The game has some really sort of original ideas (the dressphere idea sort of reminds me of FFV), the two songs 1000 words and the intro song are stunning, making me save a seperate game right before the cutscene so I can listen to them again.

I honestly suggest you rent this game before buying it, as i bought it first, and now im having a hard time finding where to sell it. If you like it, then or course buy it. If you dont like it from the beginning, do not get it. It will not change.

5-0 out of 5 stars It's About Time!
Finally, a Final Fantasy game that has almost everything one could ask for. It's challenging (maybe even too challenging, a refreshing change from the ease and stupidity of FFX), fun (something a lot of games haven't been in a long time), and overall a thrill to play. Due to the story completion percentage system, you're challenged to go everywhere and talk to everybody for that little 0.2% that leads to 100.
The story, also, is lighthearted, something that is definitely a plus. If I wanted to play a scary game or an evil game, I'd shell out 50 smackeroos for DMC2 or RE: Outbreak. This time, the Eternal Calm is in full effect, and everyone is celebrating and taking it easy after 1,000 years of fearing Sin. However, this time someone who looks remarkably like the protagonist from FFX is attempting to awaken a monstrosity known only as the colossus Vegnagun. The three characters (Yuna and Rikku from FFX and a new girl, Paine) attempt to stop this Tidus lookalike and the Vegnagun from ever escaping into the world. That's about as dark as I like it, thank you very much.
Another innovation used to make this game as unlike FFX as possible is the new free-roaming world system. In X, you didn't get to free-roam until after you annihilated Yunalesca and discovered the deadly truth about the Final Summoning. This time, you get to explore as soon as you beat the spider Boris in Chapter 1. In fact, you're encouraged to go digging for facts about Spira and its inhabitants. That's one of the things I truly love and enjoy about this game, and something that wasn't present in the past 4 FFs.
The next thing that is absolutely revolutionary is the new battle/dressphere system. The geniuses at Square took the battle system that has become so bland from the past and stripped it down to the reintroduced ATB system, and made it absolutely strategic. Every battle is a matter of tactics and counter-tactics, not a "I'll smash my forces into yours, you fool" system like it was in FFX. The chain-system is a blunt challenge for people with three thieves to continually build their chains into the 20s and 30s. Or the Gunners to become absurd with the Trigger Happy chain. Or the Alchemists to build up the Archangel mix.
Overall, this game was a blast. I've never had more fun in any FF game ever! I'm still playing it, trying to get past the Via Infinito.

I hope you found this review helpful.

FF7 Sucks,

5-0 out of 5 stars Great game!
Shining Tears is officially my first Shining series game and I love it! In the Shining series, the games were famous for lots of different races. When I saw how diverse the cast looked, I had to get my hands on it. This game takes me back to playing Albert Odyssey since the party was also diverse in that game. The different characters are quite a team:

Xion, male human swordsman
Elwyn, female elf archer
Ryuna, female human priestess
Lazarus, male dragonian knight (my all time fave)
Neige, female human sorceress
Volg, male wolfman martial artist
Mao, female catgirl ninja

Now that's a diverse crew if I ever saw one!

The graphics are VERY top quality anime. The party members and their facial expressions are simply beautiful. Makes me outright jealous that I can't draw that kind of anime.

The music is similar to Final Fantasy Tactics. You have your standard military themes, normal mission themes and special opera-like themes for grand battles. A beautiful selection of songs, I hope the OST comes out soon.

The gameplay will remind one of playing Secret of Mana and its more recent cousin, Legend of Mana with the real time battle system. You move around a map of an area slaying enemies with two party members. You control Xion (mostly), and you're partner is up to you. You have Charge attacks with Xion and Link attacks with your ally (which differ depending on your friend). The action gets intense from time to time, especially when you end up taking on armies of monsters and enemy races from more than one map.

The story is unique. What intrigues me most are Xion's two rings that are the core of your party's fighting power. A pair of dragon rings grant two characters the power to take on hundreds of enemies at once. That's quite a basis to form a war story! And it seems a kingdom with Rune in its name has once again fit the role of villain. I'm impressed.

All and all, Shining Tears is a great RPG. For some people, the redundancy of training using old haunts may bring the same feeling of mediocrity one may have felt playing Tactics since the systems are similar. However, if this is something you can deal with, this game will be a guaranteed hit for you.

4-0 out of 5 stars Why is this wonderful game getting such low reviews???
First and foremost I just want to say:
****Ignore all reviews that says this game is bad****

Okay, Now for the reasons why I made that statement:

Graphics:The graphics are beautifully done in an Anime style artform. The characters are all beautifully done. I would give the graphics a 5 out of 5.

Sound:WOW!Simply amazing.Especially the battle music.Voice acting is limited to the shop owners and some battle voices.Which I think is great.Since I know how to read I don't need the characters reading for me.I would give sound a 5 out of 5 as well.

Story/Gameplay:The story and gameplay are awesome. You control Xion, a hero with amnesia, through a quest to find out who he is and where he's from.Along the way you will meet a strategist/doctor, a cold sorceress, a heart warming priestess, a strong wolf, a cute and perky ninja cat, and you are found lying on the beach by a bow wielding elf.All the while something sinister is brewing. Also, a cute rabbit girl will tell you about the different game mechanics. All playable characters are completely customizable.Shining Tears is simply awesome.Story/Gameplay gets a 5 out of 5 as well.

So why four stars???The constant loading screens are a little bothersome, but all you need to overcome them is a little patience.I clocked them around 2 to 10 seconds long.In short, if your into more of the fantasy RPG's, then Shining Tears will not disappoint you.

****Shining Tears is Classic Role Playing at It's Best****

4-0 out of 5 stars Super underrated!
If you do research on this game, you will find that it recieved a lot of really low scores. And I am begging you to disregard it.Shining Tears is a really fun game.Especially for it's two player option.I find the story interesting, and battles are fun.It does take a little while to load, but that's because originally and in it's Japanese release it was supposed to have a lot of voice acting. So, the load wait is a little on the extreme, but it hasn't deterred me from the game. You play as the hero, who was found on a river bank. And of course, you have amnesia, and the only thing that can hint at your past life is a ring. You find out shortly after that the ring contains crazy awesome butt kicking power. You will always be fighting alongside a partner, and that partner will always inherit the ring when you choose to put yours on.It then goes on a yin/yang thing. If your partner has an evil soul, you will be good.If your partner is pure, you will become evil. And one of the most enjoyable things in the game is watching your wussy lead character transform in to a blood thirsty maniac. In a way, it reminds me of the very excellent Growlanser. The fighting is just hack and slash "Zelda" fun, but your party is completely customizable, and you can choose which skills to learn or level up.The skills are pretty cool in this game too, and because you will always be with a partner- you get link skills. And even if you play alone, you can control your partner to a certain extent.
This game is just really cool, and it is very unfortunate that it is getting some tough reviews. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Incredibly Fun!!!
If you're still doubtful about buying this game due to negative reviews, read no more and Just Buy It. First of all Winning Eleven 8 can't possibly be compared with any Fifa edition. This game is exciting, fun, and most certainly realistic. Once you get control of a player, you can imagine it is you dribbling the ball and taking spectacular shots at goal at any angle you desire and however fast you want it to go. A great feature is that each player is given distinct and original skills. Pavel Nedved is unstoppable or if you like putting a bit of crazy speed, give the ball to Ronaldinho and even bust a "gambeta" here and there. I can continue writing all night long but then again you need time to pay for this game. One last thing, there is a bad aspect to it, it turns to be time consuming once your fully into it.

2-0 out of 5 stars The lack of licensing ruins it as always.
Like any other game in the sries winning eleven eight puts a strong emphasis on gameplay, and being a big fan of the sport i appreaciate that fact. But once again the lack of licensing brings the games presentation down along with visuals that cant compare to the fifa series. I have been buying both fifa and winning eleven 8 games side by side for a long time, and every year i enjoy fifa more. While i can understand why this game is said to be better then fifa and is pereffered by gamers it still doesnt work for a statistical buff like me who finds licensing to be an important part of ne soccer game.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best game ever
This is the best soccer game ever; you cannot imagine how real and how exiting until you play it. If you love soccer, you will love this game. It gives you the latest updated information about the teams and the players. I strongly recommend this game.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best computer game ever written!!!
(TRUTH IN REVIEWING)I have been involved with computers and games since 1978.I wrote two pioneering games for the Apple II and the Mac, and then gave up on computer games around 1983.

Since then, I have really enjoyed Shogun and Roller Coaster Tycoon -- but briefly. This is the first game I have seen in YEARS which really has the power -- which really makes people want to play it!

Perhaps most important is the basic choice -- soccer (football for the rest of the non-Yank world!:-))Football is a really fun game which almost everyone enjoys!(I would never have bought a video game for basketball, just for an example, nor for American football...)

But the next most important thing is the excellence of the software implementation. And here, I must confess, my jaw drops.I have never seen anything in the software world done so well, or so thoroughly.

This game is so GOOD and so much FUN that it entirely justifies the price of the hardware (PS2) to run it on,just as Visicalc in the old days (at $150) justified the purchase of an entire Apple II system to run it on.

It is that good!

Highest possible recommendation, and sore fingers!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Winning Eleven 8
I like most people I know struggled through the flaws in past FIFA series.I read reviews and kept hearing the name Winning Eleven and so I decided to go for it and bought Winning Eleven 7.The game was great but Winning Eleven 8 is even better.
-Improved gameplay
-Deeper Master League
-More Licensed Club Teams and Real Player Names

I own FIFA 2005 and Winning Eleven 8 is much better (except for the online gameplay).
The question is, should I buy Winning Eleven 8 or FIFA 2005?
The games are very different and one game might suit one person more than another but here are reasons to buy one or the other...

FIFA 2005
-Online Play: This feature is great.Playing the computer can become rather boring after a while but being able to play anyone anywhere in the world at you ability is amazing.I played online for a while but became sick of other players using certain tricks or flaws in the game to win like scoring off every kickoff.
-Career Mode: This mode is very deep with every officially licensed league. The benefits is you can switch leagues and teams throughout your career (unlike WE8) but the computer is so predictable and easy to play against that I didn't have the patience to complete the first season.
-Graphics: The graphics are amazing with players, jerseys, and stadiums appearing like it was television.

Winning Eleven 8
-Gameplay: The gameplay is amazing, it has improved from WE7 and the computer AI is much more difficult.A new 6 star difficulty is available to unlock and I don't see this game becoming too easy for anybody. The crowd's participation makes you sweat pushing for an equaliser or holding a one goal lead.Playing with two people is much better than FIFA 2005 with quicker game play and no cheap goals. You'll play for hours with a friend who is at the same skill as you.
-Graphics: Personally I think the graphics are almost as good as FIFA.The difference doesn't bother me except for the uniforms which are kind of plain on the unlicensed teams. The jerseys for unlicensed teams are the same colors but don't have logos or sponsors on them.
-Master League: It is even more advanced and has more features than WE7.Although their isn't license leagues and cups, it does replicate real soccer.Yes, Manchester United is in the game as for the top 100 or so European clubs including licensed Italian, Spanish, and Dutch leagues. Each league has a cup and there is a WEFA Championship (Champion's League) and WEFA Master's Cup (UEFA Cup). With all new Master League edit mode, you can change which teams are in what leagues and create a "Power League" which is very entertaining. All in all this feature is worth buying the game itself.

Editorial Review

Horses hold a magical appeal for children. This colorfully designed board game provides an exciting fantasy environment for two to six horse lovers. In the first game, players pretend to be wild mustang stallions galloping through mountains and valleys, gathering a herd to protect while facing such obstacles as cougars and bad weather. The first player to round up a herd wins. In two other games, players are ranchers rounding up strays and competing to fill out their herds. Players are sure to enjoy the in-depth educational information about horses and horse breeds that is included. This is a great game to saddle up when it's rainy on the ranch, providing enough challenge to play with parents as well as with friends. --Lee Strucker ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The perfect game for any horse lover!
When I recieved this game as a Christmas present five years ago, my parents did not realize how much I would love playing it! For a horse crazy girl, it was the perfect gift. The idea of being a beautiful, wild mustang fighting to reach safety in a race against other stallions and obstacles was enchanting. Along the way, the player has to build their own herd by collecting unique picture cards of various horses. The cards inform on the horse's breed and personality, including information that is educational and interesting. The two alternative games are also fun to play. All in all, the game's colorful format and imaginative appeal make it a guaranteed favorite for any horse lover!

fun!
this game is adictive,FUN and educational.it is all my 6 year old sister has thought about since she played.

Great Game!!! Worth your money!!
I bought this game for my 8 year old neice in November last year. It was a big hit!! This game is so great. There are 3 ways to play it. The horse cards are beautifully illustrated and have lots of great facts about each horse on them. This game is so much fun for the whole family. In fact, I think I'm going to buy it for my 5 year old son. Every time we visit my neice, that's all he wants to play. It's a really fun game and a MUST for any horse lover.

I LOVE THIS GAME!
It is very fun and interesting to play! Even if you don't LOVE horses you will still really like this game!

Herd Your Horses! probably the best board game in the world!

5-0 out of 5 stars looks like best game
People have been waiting for so long that they can't wait until agust 30 2004 thats when its coming out i checked 10 different websites and thats what they all say. Plus to make it better there is co-op (2 people playing at the same time) and 2 new colored pikmin. Plus the old ones to.

Red- can stand fire
Yellow- can hold bomb rocks and can stand electrity
Blue- can swim
white- poisinous
purple- they are fat and can esily kill things when you throw them on your enemy.
I beat pikmin and pikmin 2 looks even better i heard every time you beat it the levels change but i'm not sure? I'f you like pikmin you'll love pikmin 2.

P.s. Buy this game

5-0 out of 5 stars BEST GAME IN THE WORLD
Look, ladies and gentleman, do u like strategy? Do you like killing mutant infested evil enimies? Do you like gathering and collecting? well, nintendo's got the game for you. The first Pikmin (also 5 stars) is probably the best ONE-PLAYER game on the Gamecube. But something bothered me. It was only a one-player. I couldn't play with my friends. BUT NOW I CAN! In Pikmin 2, there is not only a cooperative mode, (where we work together to kill the mutant infested evil enimies)but there is also an Arena mode. In this new mode we compete to get the most Pikmin by killing eachother and backstabbing eachother. Sounds like fun to me! Also, there are 2 new kinds of Pikmin. Not only are there the old:

Red-Resist Fire, Do most damage
Yellow-Hold bomb rocks, be thrown high, Resist electricity
Blue-Travel in Water

But now, there are also 2 new pikmin
!
White-Poisonous to enimes
Purple-Heaviest, Can be thrown onto enimes and kill them.

So, in conclusion, ladies and gentleman, if you are a kid, this game rules becasue you get to kill those mutant infested evil enimies. If you're an adult, this game will actually make your child think (a little) and strategize, as well as problem solve, and critical think.

Bottom Line: BUY THIS GAME
(WHEN IT COMES OUT!)

[probably June 1st, but it's gonna get delayed again, i just know it]

5-0 out of 5 stars Sweeeeeeeet!!!!!!!!!!
I just love this game!!!!! I have soooooooo much fun playing it. When I played the first Pikmin I hated it. So I thought this would be the same. But when I found out there wasn't a time limit on how many days you could spend on it I jumped right on it. I bought it on the day it came out the minute the store opened!!!! The aim is to find 10,000 pokos worth of treasure on the planet of the pikmin. You go around with your army of pikmin attacking enemies, diving into caves and collecting as much treasure as you can. Also, try the new two player mode and the challenge mode. There the super fun. There are also two new types of pikmin... Purple that are extra strong as well as extra heavy and the White that are imune to the poisinous gasses and can sense treasure under the soil. If you love wacky adventures you would absolutly love this new game.

5-0 out of 5 stars Pikmin 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can't wait till Pikmin 2 releases in stores. I beat the first game easily so I want to play Pikmin 2 really bad! I think the purple pikmin and white pikmin will be so cool though you can only get them underground because they don't have Onions.

5-0 out of 5 stars Better than the first!
I got the japanese version of the game and wow its more challenging and more fun than the last. You get to fight more enemies, use more pikmin types, and go through many tough obsticles. The downside was I thought there was a two player co-op in story mode, but just in versus and challenge mode which you get after beating the game if my memory serves me right. So when the game comes out, I highly suggest getting it. ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

Nothing lends itself better to portable gaming than the arcadeclassics. They're addictive, replayable, and fun--plus it's nice not tohave to pump endless streams of quarters into them. That's what makesNamco Museum such a must-have title for the Game Boy Advancesystem. People too young, or too impatient, to enjoy a good coin-op hadbetter stop reading now.

Like the PlayStation and N64 versions, Namco has packed a few of itsbest games onto the cartridge. For the GBA we get only five titles(four are listed on the front of the box, but Galaxian is alsoincluded). We have two versions of Ms. Pac-Man (one that showsthe whole maze but is dreadfully small, and another that scrolls),Galaga, Pole Position, and Dig Dug. They arelovingly ported, complete with all the music and sound effects intact. What we don't get is the amusing Museum portion and trivia found onother versions.

Ms. Pac-Man and Galaga are the real winners here. Bothare perfect renditions complete with all the extras (music, colors, sound effects, and bonus stages/cartoons). The controls on these twoare also perfect. Pole Position is amusing, but features twitchycontrols and pales in comparison to other GBA racing games.Galaxian, on the surface, seems the same as its sequel,Galaga, but it isn't. The fire rate is much slower, so the paceof the game is different. Galaga is certainly better, butGalaxian is a nice addition regardless. Dig Dug is aclassic, pure and simple, and it still plays well. It rounds out thecollection nicely.

Arcade fans, especially those who used to line up (or line theirquarters on the machine) to play these games, will be very pleased withNamco Museum. Those unimpressed with retro gaming probably won'tbe converted. However, here's hoping we see more arcade classics in thefuture, because I can't think of a better platform for these than theGame Boy Advance. --Andrew S. Bub

Pros:

  • Perfect recreations of arcade classics
  • A nice, diverse slate of games
  • Nice of them to include two versions of Ms. Pac-Man
Cons:
  • Pole Position isn't so hot anymore
  • No Museum features, such as trivia questions

5-0 out of 5 stars Galaga good enough by itself
Galaga is enough by itself. I bought the game the day it came out.I couldn't believe that all my favorite arcade games were in the palm of my hand. All the games are awesome. There all exactly like the arcade versions. I know that most older people will like the game. Im only 13 and its one of my favorite games ever. The highlight of the game is GALAGA. GALAGA is by far the best game in the package. Just incase you didnt know the 5 games in the package are Galaga, Galaxian, DigDug, Ms.PacMan, and pole position. For you youngsters out there, take it advice from somebody your own age, buy Namco Museum.

2-0 out of 5 stars A history lesson, not a game
Museum Games are more of a lesson in classic gaming than an experience.

Namco's Gameboy Advance release of the Namco Museum follow the same path the Williams has taken in their several Greatest Hits releases. This current installment of the Namco museum includes a roster of five games. These games are: Ms. Pac-Man (1980), Galaxian (1979), Galaga (1981), Dig Dug (1982), and Pole Position (1982). These games have been fully restored on a single GBA Cart for your portable convenience. Granted it is nice to have five different games on one cartridge, but I would hardly call this a worth while title.

I can not site any performance issues, nor can I compare the Namco Museum to any of the current games out there. My reasoning behind this is because Namco fully restored Atari classics and packaged them for a modern system. Though I personally am not keen on this idea, I will admit, it is nice to remember the simple times. Each game is configured to interface with the D-Pad and the face buttons, whereas the shoulder buttons have no function in this package, leaving the controls as simple as the games themselves.

To my disappointment, both Galaxian and Galaga are virtually the same game. This means that you are paying for four games, when they advertise five. The slight difference between Galasxian and Galaga is the entrance of the enemies. In Galaga, enemies fly into view and bombard you as they enter. In Galaxian, the enemies are just lined up at the top of the screen, waiting for you to shoot them. All NAMCO needs to do at this point is throw in Space Invaders and advertise six games, but you will still only have four unique games.

The bottom line is, the NAMCO Museum is more of a history lesson than a worth while game. I rated this a 2 stars because Ms. Pac-Man and Dig Dug are still fun titles, but the other three just don't have a lasting replay value. I would pass this title up, unless it was on the discount rack for less than five dollars.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Game
I think that most of the people that have been saying that this is a hard game, just have been used to the large screen. They need to think about what a cartrisge game can do. they aren't going to be perfect, and I have grown up with them unperfect. Don't look too hard to find a game that doesn't have any flaws. The game play is good knowing that the games were originally made a while back, and don't expect to see any high grafics, since they were made around the early 90's and older. If you want the feel of the old Atari, this is a perfect selection of games from the classic line of Atari. Good grafics no, but the same great games, yes.

2-0 out of 5 stars Great Games but Poor Conversion
Namco Museum lets you play old Atari classics on your GameBoy Advance. These include Galaga, Galactica, Dig Dug, Pole Position, and Ms. Pac-Man!

This is of course a great idea in theory - I *love* some of these games. But while the games might be really fun to play on a big-screen console, they are REALLY tough on the tiny screen. For example, Ms. Pac-Man comes in two modes - a full screen mode and one that scrolls up and down showing you a partial screen at a time. The full screen mode has REALLY really tiny ghosts and characters, you can barely time your movements and often get stuck on walls. The scrolling mode is better in the sense that the characters are larger, but now you can easily scroll down into an enemy and the same character control issues occur.

On Pole Position, it's all about sliding left and right as your racecar goes around curves. With the arrow-control of the GBA, it's one light tap to make a hard turn. If you accidentially press too hard on the arrow, you smash into the side signs or nearby cars. It makes driving very difficult.

Dig Dug is a great game, where you burrow in the ground and try to drop rocks on the heads of dragons. Is this Revenge of Smaug? Again, I love the game but the controls make it difficult. You can be planning a careful tunnel to a rock and end up off by a bit, making the tunnel useless.

Galaga and Galaxian are both classic space-shooting games. Galaxian is a "secret bonus" in that it's not mentioned on the box but is provided on the cartridge. I really love both of them, but the controls are just as sluggish and imprecise here. With Galaxian having the penalty of "only one shot on the screen at a time", those missed shots make a huge difference in playability.

If you have a regular console, I'd recommend these games on a differnet system. I love the games themselves! But the GBA version is rather awkward. Everyone I had try this out got frustrated very quickly.

Best Handheld Arcade Compilation Ever
A compilation of 5 old-school arcade games including: Ms.Pac-Man, Galaga, Galaxian, Pole Position, and Dig Dug. The best part is that all five games look and play just as good, if not, better than they originally did in the arcades, pretty impressive for a handheld sytem, though it would have meant a lot more if the high scores saved. - Kit Oxton ... EDITORIAL REVIEW

With classic electric guitar styling and enough special effects to create a lot of excitement, this clever electric guitar starter kit is a perfect option for aspiring young rock musicians to gain their chops. The sound produced by the instrument is impressive for its fairly basic construction, not quite of the performance quality of a Fender Stratocaster but plenty good enough for starters. A quality pickup and tremolo bridge allows young axe-slingers to try out their rock star licks. This is also a convenient way to get started in music as everything you might need is included: case, guitar strap, strings, picks, and even a small practice amp. 5-0 out of 5 stars Jak Rocks!
This game is really cool. It starts off when Jak is being banished from Haven City by Count Vegar because of his dark eco powers and because of his accidental connections with Kor and Krew in Jak II. He then is found by some of the Wastelanders who live in the desert Jak was banished to and to prove that he is useful, Jak has to defeat a battle arena challenge that also doubles as instructions on how to play. Also in the Wasteland, you can get a lot of off road vehicles that are a lot of fun to drive. After a while, Jak is called back to Haven City for help because three different groups are fighting for power over the city. The Metal Heads, the KG, and the people of Haven city. Jak also has to save the entire planet from the power of the Dark Precuseors which gets pretty interesting. He also needs to protect the Precurseor powers from Vegar because he wants to rule with them. While Jak is trying to save just about everything, he recieves some really cool powers from the Precurseors. To Balance out Dark Jak he gets Light Jak powers that help him heal, defend, stop time, and even fly. You also get a lot of new guns instead of just 4 from the last game you get 12. Another reason why this game is cool is because you learn the story of Jax's past that ties everything together. For example, you learn who Jak's Father really is. Some more positives of this game are that you get to stay Dark Jak for a long time and the JET-board goes a bit faster in this game. Some negitives are that the plot is very weird when you find out who the precurseors are but other than that the story is very cool and interesting. P.S. if you haven't played JakII you should probably buy that one first so that you can understand this game.

5-0 out of 5 stars Biggest Platformer Since Crash
Jak is back after a year of what seemed to be peaceful times. After the dealings with Krew and Kor, the people of Haven City turned on Jak. Jak is banished to the Wastelands, where Sig lives, for life by Veger. Daxter is banished as well and Pecker comes along. After fainting, Jak and the gang are found by Damus, the king of the city of Spargus and his pack of forgotten ones. Damus gives Jak a challenge, and if he doesn't pass, "it will be as if he was never found." After passing the tests, Kliever, who will be much like Krew, giving you weapons and vehicles, gives you a series of missions. New Dark Eco powers will be revealed as well as a Light Eco form. There will be 4 guns with 3 possible upgrades, or 12 possible ways to kick Metal Head butt. When this game hits the stores, you all know where I'll be. All will be revealed, in Jak 3.

1-0 out of 5 stars Great game!!!
So basically...this game is a first person shooter game and you are playing a guy named Chuchuba. Chuchuba is a brother of a dog Chiwhawha but correct me if I spelled Chiwhawha wrong. And then once you kill the General Murphin this game suddenly changes and becomes RPG. Then you are Yuna from Final Fantasy and you are naked and dancing around crazily for good. I don't know why Sony has ruined this great franchise that was famous for featuring Onimusha but I wonder if Onimusha and Inuyasha are brothers or something. Inuyasha is a half-demon like Dante from Devil May Cry but Tak is an Indian I think. If you ever played Tak and the Power of Juju don't play it again cause I'm not playing either. When the school starts I'm not gonna buy this game because I don't think it will be released by then. I encourage you to not buy this game as well because The Legend of Zelda is changed to The Legend of Link. Yeah, now it's more understandable because you hardly ever see Zelda in Zelda games infurrusly. I had a rabbit named Jinny and it bit my finger cause my fingers smelled like onion bread. But I love onion bread!!! So I decided to eat my rabbit but never tried because it was so cute and it stopped biting and started licking my body. O man, it even licked where a mosquito bit me and the mosquito bite dissapeared believe it or not! Now I recommand that you go to a movie theater near your house and watch other people who are watching movie. If you ever find my rabbit that is in Korea I beg you to take it to an animal hospital because it's pee was not very liquidary and somewhat solidary. Thank you very much for reading this and I hope you don't buy this and steal it and self-arrest you because it would be funny to watch. Thank you very much for reading this and...I lose patience...so thank you very much for reading this (...)

5-0 out of 5 stars Best game ever!
In the last of the trilogy Jak is banished to the wasteland along with pecker and of course daxter. They travel for days and Jak feints. He wakes up at a desert town. The people that live there are called marauders. The lead maurauder sends jak on mission after mission and eventually retuns to haven city.Evidently though, the metal heads destroyed the tethers to the palace and it fell down.Jak is exposed to light eco and is transformed into light jak at certain points of the game. The legend of the precursors will finnaly be revealed. THere are new upgrades on dark jak along with the old moves. You can unlock vehicles to use such as a dune buggy with upgrades to unlock. You can get a small black fighter ship to destroy water opponents with. You can get a hopper-a small animal that you can ride and you use it for item pick up in the city.Other vehicles such as a turret on wheels will be available to those who purchase them with a certain number of kills for example if you kill 5 things you get 5 points added to your meter and you can hold up to 150 points. The turret is about 75 points and can only be used in forest type area. there are many vehicles to use so kill as many enemies as possible! Daxter will also have a much bigger role than in than in the last game.Pecker will also be able to be used to fly and collect items in the air. The jetboard and titan-siut are back to help jak tear up his obstacles. The guns are back too each having three modes. The modes include a little ball that shoots every enemy in its path and bullets that bounce off the walls to the peacemakers ability to be a homing device and a nuke in a metal head arena. The precursor robot returns and right now it is for unkwon purposes as well as erol who fused himself with robotic parts so he would stay alive and he poses a great threat to jak as he wants revenge.samos and kiera will barely be seen throughout the game as well as ashlin.I will update with more info as soon as i can:)

I hope you like my review:)
