1-0 out of 5 stars More frustrating that fun.
This game is just full of holes. The loading takes way too long, the career mode takes months before you see results, the game freezes at the worse possible times, and it's just bad times.
For instance, I tried career mode over the last week. I built a guy, did alright, played around for an hour, and the game froze up. I tried it again the next day, played for an hour and tried to save, froze while I was saving. Just 3 minutes ago it took the typical 3-5 minutes of random loading, and froze the second the loading bar was full.

AND ANOTHER THING, the game designers seemed to focus more on pointless features like 10-year contract bonuses and pitcher confidence, and less on actual hitting/pitching. I can't count the number of times my bat went right through a ball for a strikeout. There are also random glitches that cause balls to break the laws of phyisics to get strikes.

This just seems to be a Murphy's-law kind of game. It WILL freeze at the worst possible time, you WILL strike out in the most important situation, and you WILL want to pull the CD out of the machine and punch it into powder.
PS: It's not just my CD that freezes up, almost every person who's reviewed as noticed it.

3-0 out of 5 stars It's so annoying
The games whole setup is awsome but almost every time I play it the game frezzes. I'm in the middle of my franchise and it frezzes on me. Its sooooo cheap and annoying.(I was winning too!) I just don't see how such a great game has sucha big issue. So annoying! Geeze! I just can't belive it. But anyway, sometimes it freezes while it's giving me a tip or just freezes out of nowhere and my ps2 screen goes pure white. I can still hear all the sound and everything but it's either white or not moving at all. You can get the game and enjoy it but suffer some major issues. Or you can just wait until you see something else you like. But on my opinion I sorta wish I don't have it and havemething else.

1-0 out of 5 stars Game Freezes!!!!
Do not buy, listen to everybody when they say the game freezes!!!It always does.Dont waist your time, and especially your money!

5-0 out of 5 stars MLB 2006
It is a good game, but it is a little to cartonish for me. I am glad you have Mark Elis on the game. I liked the graphics and the game play

1-0 out of 5 stars Game Freezes
Sony...read one of these reviews why don't ya? Every single person who has written a review says that this game freezes...and so do I. Jeez! I've been a faithful fan of MLB since it came out, but this game is so frustrating! I'll get into the 8 or 9th inning and wham...the game freezes. It locks up, so you can't play it and have to restart. I've even won games and been in the process of coming back to the main menu when it freezes.Never again will I buy this game. Never never never never never never.

If Sony would just fix this problem the game would kick butt!!! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars War, anyone?
The Advanced Mission takes this familiar game to a whole new level. Here is the list of the new weapons and tactics now at your disposal: 2 exocet missles fired from your aircraft carrier; 1 tomahawk missle with a massive footprint fired from your battleship; 2 apache missles fired from your destroyer; 2 torpedoes fired from your sub; two recon airplanes for surveillance; and sonar imaging from your sub! While the older version of this game had some strategy, it was still a mostly guessing game, but with the Advanced Mission you really have to plan your attack and keep track of your available assets. One hint: have your recon planes take off from the aircraft carrier ASAP to avoid them being destroyed if the ship gets sunk. If you play this game with some strategy in mind you will find yourself doing very little guessing, which makes this game much more interesting and NEVER boring!

Very cool...But mesy
I got this toy for Christmas from my grandmother. It is pretty complicated, so I do not really agree with the age ranges. My eight year old neighbor who lives across the street from me tried to play it, and in the process she got very confused after many times of explanation. It is extremely fun, but it is also extremely mesy. What can I say. I love this game and it is definalty worth all that money. Accualy, It is worth a lot more.

Could be fun if pegs fit better
I think this game could be lots of fun. I played with my 6 year-old boy, BUT THE PROBLEM WAS THAT THE PEGS USED TO RECORD HITS AND MISSES EITHER FELL OUT OR WERE SO HARD TO PUT IN, WE HAD TO USE PLIERS TO PULL THEM OUT.

This pretty much ruined the fun. Maybe I got a lemon (bad quality control?). If someone reads this, please tell me if their version did not have this problem. Otherwise I can't see putting my boy (and me) through the agony again.

Fun for the whole family
There is something about hearing the noise that tells you you've score a hit- call it a Pavlovian reponse, but it's lots of fun!! We're getting this for the second generation of recipients this Christmas.

Advanced Mission could be even better..........
I bought this game for my daughter. She has the old version but cheated too much. Of course I cheated too. Believe me, you would never find my patrol boat. I'd just keep moving it around.
Advance Mission puts an end to that. You have to program in your coordinates so it's impossible to cheat. This is a good thing.
Advanced Mission has four different games to be played:
The Classic Mission - each player gets one shot apiece regardless of hit or miss.
The Salvo Mission - each player gets one shot for every ship left unsunk. I really like this one.
The Bonus Mission - each player gets one shot unless they score a hit in which case they can continue on the same turn until they miss.
The Advanced Mission - each ship has special weapons and you have two recon planes, however if you use the recon planes I will defeat you. IMO the recon planes are a bit too much. Deploying them counts as a turn and you don't get to fire a weapon. I never deploy my recon planes. I have never lost, yet.

Another thing that sets this game apart is the ability to play the computer. You don't even need any friends to have a good old fashioned war at sea.
There are also 3 different skill levels to choose from. ...
Of course the game now has sound. You hear the weapons being fired and the explosions from hits.
All that being said I still see room for improvement. On the old battleship you could adjust the top grid for better visibility, much like you would a laptop. On Advanced Mission the top grid is fixed and depending on the lighting can be hard to see.
Unless you are sitting at eye level with direct lighting you will inevitably place a peg in the wrong grid resulting in frustration and possibly a failed mission.
The makers of Advanced Mission should have gone a step further by lighting the grids, at least the top grid. It wouldn't take much to accomplish. It would look really cool and certainly be easier on the eyeballs.
The other thing is the volume, which is relatively low...
Bottomline is it's a fine game but with a few improvements it would really be something. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Safe Baby Float
This float is designed to introduce the baby to water, allowing the baby to see you at all times. We have purchased other floats, from the same manufacturer, and others, none compares to this Baby and Me Float! Our five month-old loves to stay in the water with us and kick! Plus, pool time means better sleep time! I recommend this item!

Maybe I'm just paranoid
Maybe I'm just paranoid but the section of the float where the baby sits holds less air than the adult section. I wouldn't dare let go, but it seemed like my baby started to sink & possibly MIGHT tip if I didn't hold the adult side down. I have to admit though, my 17 pound 3-1/2 month old loves it. He can sit up with little support and goes to town kicking.

Awesome product!
The first time I used the "Baby and Me Float" I was comforted by the proximity of my child. I actually cuddled him the first 15-minutes, or so. Baby sits a little deeper in this float than the cheap ones drug stores carry, so that gave me peace of mind. The float requires 100% adult interaction, as baby could tip it over if left unattended. We usually swim as a family, so either my husband, or I would carry our son into the water, and place him in the float, while the other parent slipped into the ring. If you're considering using this float without assistance from another adult, I recommend leaving the float on the deck before entering the water. This way you're free to carry your baby into the water without distractions.

Both my husband and I were comfortable using the float. That's saying a lot! My husband is 6'7" tall and weighs 240 pounds, while I'm only 5'3" tall and weigh.... What? If you expected me to divulge my weight on a product review, you're crazy! Anyhow, the float accommodates a variety of shapes, sizes, and weights. Aqua Leisure does not provide a weight capacity for this product, which I find unusual, but considering it's a floatation device and water weight is drastically different than actual weight, it might be discretionary. The float is recommended for babies 6-months to 2-years. That's probably an accurate recommendation; however, I wouldn't use age as the determining factor. If your child sits confidently in a highchair, then they're probably strong enough for this float. In addition, the baby seat is rather generous, so it accommodates older, or larger children as well.

The "Baby and Me Float" is long lasting. We used the float for two summers without leaks, or puncture wounds. Phoenix has a long outdoor season, April through October, so that's equivalent to 6 or 7 months of continual use. I'd say that's an exceptional record for a floatation device. I'm not sure if the float deflates if the toy bar's penetrated, as my son wasn't much of a nibbler at that age. Although if you ask me, the toy bar's useless. The balls don't roll easily, and the rings are difficult to slide. Well, for a 1-year old anyway.

(...) It truly enhanced our summertime fun, so I'll gladly recommend it.

Be careful, and happy floating,
Mary :)

Fun in the water!
We bought this for my son, who was about 9 months old at the time. He absolutely loved being in the water. I liked the fact that I could be right there, facing him, talking to him, kicking us around the pool. He soon learned to kick, too, and would lean the was he wanted to kick. Sometimes my 5 year old daughter would go in it facing him and I would stay at their side. It was a lot of fun for the family. The only problem was the ring holder. My sister had the same float, and both boys bit a hole in theirs before the summer ended. It was just too tempting a target, right in front of them for periods of time, with those new, interesting, sharp little teeth! Gently encouraging him not to bite didn't work, but I would buy this again if I have another baby simply for the enjoyment on all our parts!

Great Way to Bond and get a tan!!
My 3 1/2 mo. old daughter loves it! Supports her 13 lbs great, I hold on to her just a bit but won't have to for much longer. Highly recommend this for mom's (or dad's aunts, grandma's..) wanting to share the experience of water with their little one. Also, my daughter was barely in the water 5 minutes when she was already reaching for the colored rings, twirling them around. Stimulated her brain a bit - can't beat that. And this was our first time EVER in the water! ... Read more

Amazon.co.uk Review

Six years. Six long years we’ve had to wait for a new Mario game, and finally it’s here. And even considering the ridiculously unfair expectations, Super Mario Sunshine is almost entirely as good as you’d hope and expect.

The premise of the game is that Mario’s tropical holiday is ruined when he’s stitched up by an evil look-alike for daubing graffiti all over the island. Rather conveniently, there’s a water pump waiting for him to use, which not only washes away the mess but also doubles as a handy jet pack. The jet pack aspect means that whenever you fall off something you have the chance to immediately recover. This built-in safety net means the game can afford to be far more ambitious in its level design than ever before, with massive levels filled with trampolines, tightropes, water-powered windmills, huge coral reefs, and mountains and mountains of platforms.

The whole thing looks amazing, too, with the most realistic water ever seen in a video game, and a near-infinite draw distance. On top of all this are rideable, fruit-juice-spewing Yoshis, extra water nozzles, super-hardcore platform levels where Shadow Mario nicks your jet pack, and goop-generating bosses who seem to live to make Princess Peach’s laundry a nightmare.

After the sweet but rather short pleasures of Luigi’s Mansion and Pikmin, you need have no fear that Mario Sunshine is of a similarly brief nature. There are a total of 120 shines to collect--the same number of stars as in Super Mario 64--and the game world is at least as large and far more interactive. This is without question the best game on the GameCube yet. That may be no more than you'd expect from a Mario game, but it's certainly more than most of us mere mortals deserve. --David Jenkins ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Good game, a teensy bit disappointing
What do I love about SMS... almost everything. The classic Mario 64 gameplay makes a triumphant return, if you played it, you'll automatically feel right at home with Mario Sunshine. And the waterpack is a fantastic addition. There's so much that it adds to the gameplay mechanics that it's just PLAIN NOT FUNNY. The controls are tight; some of the tightest ever.

What else do I love... the graphics. Everything is detailed (except for Isle Delfino's inhabitants), and everything is affected by the heat... you can see objects in the distance blurred by the heat. Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING reflects in the water, from coins, to the sky, including clouds, to mountains, and Mario himself. Nothing is left out.

I also love it's challenge. It's a little easy at first, but some objectives are very challenging... sometimes too challenging.

Oh, and the camera isn't nearly as bad as everyone is saying it is. Trust me.

What don't I love about SMS... Well, there's not too many levels... 7 or 8. But there's still 120 shines to collect. But after a while you get sick of the levels you're playing in, and when you do beat the game after getting 60 shines or so, you probably won't have the incentive to get the other 60 shines. And if you do, there's not much of a reward. I wish something could've been done about that.

But other than that, SMS is a great game, and you're doing a disservice to yourself by not playing it.

3-0 out of 5 stars SUNSHINE OK - BUT NOT GREAT EITHER
First of all, you should know I'm a Super Mario Brothers fanatic. I have played all Mario games imaginable and all have been outstanding. With this being said, I'll go ahead and express that Super Mario Sunshine is ok, but not great.

Mario Sunshine is a very cute game with a sweet feel to it, but it failed to deliver innovation and top quality graphics, soundtrack, and challenging gameplay. Yes, it is initially fun to play, but it isn't anything breathtaking as Mario 64 was.

First, experienced players will find this game to be very easy to pass. The gameplay is easy, and acquiring sunshines becomes repetetive and predictable. For instance, in every world there's always red coin collecting, a Shadow Mario chase, and those Secret obstacle course areas. It's evident that the developers lacked imagination because in many worlds you get to do these tasks even twice. The difficulty level is a piece of cake compared to its predecessor, Mario 64. There are a few episodes that are tricky at first, but you eventually figure the solution very quickly. Now, Mario has a new water tool to play with, but I didn't find that amusing. I could care less if he used it or not. I missed the ability to punch enemies, and transform into different things. I actually felt Mario's powers were more limited in this game. He can jump higher, but that's about it. Managing the camera angles is a constant struggle. There are areas where you are enclosed between walls, and you can't see Mario. I guess that's about the only major difficulty in this game...lol. Bad, bad, bad.

Second, the quality of the worlds you explore are not very impressive. Being a game for the Gamecube console, the graphics are not something to be awed of. With the exception of water, lightning, reflection, and shadow effects, the textures displayed are ugly to look at. I truly felt I was playing a Nintendo 64 sequel to Mario 64. I really was expecting sharper graphics. Another thing that dissapoints is the redundance of the worlds. Almost every single world is the same thing altered in a different way. They're all sunny, colorful, and invaded by water. Another issue is that there are only a few worlds to explore as opposed to 15 in Mario 64. These worlds are a little big, but not as huge as everyone hyped them to be. These worlds are about the same size as those found in the Banjoo-Kazooie titles. The animation sequences are very bad, too. The cinemas don't run smoothly. The screen keeps going black in order to show the next image. I think Mario 64's introductory and final animations were way better. These are the little things that are shameful considering the game was designed for a superior system.

Third, the game's soundtrack is repetetive and non catchy. You get to hear the same theme in almost all the worlds. What else can I say?

Overall, it's an OK game. Many claim Sunshine to be as big as Mario 64, but I think it's only half the size as Mario 64. Yes, this game has about 120 sunshines to collect, but the game feels short due to the easy gameplay and limited worlds. If you are new to 3D Platform gaming, then you will find this game quite a big challenge to complete. But if you're an experienced gamer, you'll catch on very quickly. So, I gave this game 3 stars based on the "experienced player" view. If you are new to 3D gaming, your rating may be higher.

4-0 out of 5 stars This game is great!!!
I loved this game!! I rarely get so far in a game. I usually have to get my dad or brother to beat it for me. But I'm soo far!! I have lost interest at some points, but then started playing again. The puzzles in it I did have to get help from my brother. They were, I think, pretty hard. So I could do, but most of them were really hard. I loved beating the bad guys!! And my favorite squirting tool was the one that made you go really fast. I would go on the water with that and it was soo much fun. :D I really loved the secret shine spirits!! That was fun looking for them too! This game was awesome!!<br /> <br /> I gave it a 4 star because it wasn't my favorite game ever. I am a big fan of Final Fantasy. But it was really fun to play! I suggest if your good at maneuvering stuff, this is a game for you! <br /><br />

5-0 out of 5 stars Best game ever!!
I recently bought Mario Sunshine and at first I didn't like the game because i didn't really understand what to do. But I figured it out fast and it was awesome! My friend and I would play all the time and we usually aren't that addicted. Mario Sunshine is a huge leap for the better from Super Mario Brothers which I used to love. This is a farely old game but very fun. I encourage you to go out and buy it, it's only 20 dollars. A much better price than the new ones which are 50 dollars!

4-0 out of 5 stars Not perfect but still great.
This was a great game but not very consistent. There are two throway levels but most of it is great. ... Read more

Not-quite-fabulous
I've loved Barbies since they first came out, and I still believe dolls are to be PLAYED with, which is why I don't completely love this doll. She has awful hair, and what would it have cost them to throw a few snaps or some velcro on the back of her dress?

On the other hand, the dress IS gorgeous, and the shoes are fabulous. And I love her grave and dignified expression.

Very Beautiful,Historical....
...And cheap! And I don't mean $$$ cheap. Unlike the other 'European' looking Dolls of the World that I own, this one is a little chinsy and it gets messed up. For example, the plastic rod in the bodice kept popping out and I didnt touch it, her hair uncurled and her hem between the blue and the goldish petticoat unraveled. I was suprised that all happened and I had to purchase a new one because my others D.O.T.W arent like that. But it is really pretty and fun to play with!!

Princess of the Danish Court Barbie---- What a find!
She reminds me of Cinderella from the Disney movie! This doll is very, VERY pretty, which is why she remains in her box on my display shelf. She comes at a good price, compared to other Barbie Collectibles which can go up to $300. The back of the box includes a history of Denmark, as well as a little story about this fairy-tale-like doll. Little kids can also enjoy Princess of Denmark (she's a Barbie, after all!).

a product worth your money
this doll is nt only a collectable but very pretty as well. i do not play with barbie dolls because i am 12, but i collect them and keep them in their boxes. If you are like me it is worth your money, and if it is for playing i give it 5 stars!

A wonderful doll
This is truly a wonderful doll. Her body type is exactly like Princess of Portugal's and similar to that of Princess of Ireland. The first thing I noticed when I removed her from the box was that her dress was not removable like the other princesses. But still, it's a great doll and dress. Her hair is upswept into a bun which is behind a wonderful tiara w/ little aquamarine jewels that match her Cinderella like dress and eyes. Princess of the Danish Court also comes w/ earring that are the same ones that came w/ Princess of China. Also, unlike her pictures on the internet, she comes w/ a choker, the same material as the ribbon that's on top of the torso part of her dress. Her sleeves are puffy on the bottom half, and she comes w/ beautiful heeled shoes that are from her time. This doll is wonderful, her dress alone is worth the [cost]. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars NES Classic Perfectly Ported to GAEMBOY ADV
If you want to buy one of the RETRO Classic NES carts Nintendo is offering this is definitely #1 on the list for sheer ease of play and memories. SUPER MARIO BROS is a perfect port of the NES game (minus one glitch at the end of the 3rd world that gave you infinite lives). Several have bemoaned you can not save your progress, and that's true ... but in the original game this was not an option. Learn the game well enough and you can WARP your way through the beginning levels anyway! You play as Mario or Luigi jumping your way through many worlds (levels) to get to save Princess Toadstool and her courtiers. Set in a land where evil mushrooms, turtles, fish and birds attack from all directions (okay 90% of them are on the right!).

The graphics and controls are the same ... no embellishments or "lost zones" or challenge modes ... just straight up classic MARIO and LUIGI in their first adventure back in the NES days. It's a very nice port, and I like the ability to take it with me on the road in my SP. It also brings back memories when I hook it up to the TV and get to see it normal size!

I've kind of gone off about paying $20 for Donkey Kong, Ice Climber, and Excite Bike (why not a compilation of those on ONE cart - especially when you can get the e-reader versions for $5). But this one is well worth it because you have many levels to play, and the ability to play 2 player! This is still a fun game, and I can't believe how instantly likeable it still is even after playing all the latest! Cute, simple, and fun! Any age can enjoy it! Highly reccommended - not just for nostalgia freaks. Though they will get a kick out of the perfect replica packaging - from the instructions, the cart, and the box -- it all looks old school! Trademark classic 80s game that helped build an empire around Italian plumbers attacking mushrooms! Wow!

5-0 out of 5 stars Classic Mario
The formula for the best Mario games started right here at number one. Yes he was featured in Donkey Kong and Mario Bros. before this game came out, but SUPER Mario Bros. invented platform games. To this day the game remains as playable as the first time you opened the box of your NES (back when they packed in games, I miss it). The graphics are great for the time period they were developed for. Remember a true reviewer considers the age of a game and doesn't compare to games that have the benefit of todays technology. Back in 1985 this game was top billing at arcades and at home, the fun factor and replay value was the top priority back then. Unfortunately that philosophy has practically died, and your lucky to even want to play a game after you beat it the first time now days. This game echoes a time when games were fun, replayable, and didn't require a large investment of time to beat. As you get older you find you like these games better and better because life is so busy. SMB is a fine example of Nintendo's trademark quality and the roots of gaming for most of us in our twenties +.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome Classic
ok for the last review said it was the worst game cuz its originial and that there isnt a way to continue o yes there is after a game over u hold a and press start at the title screen and u will continue at the first level of the world like if u died on 7-3 and if u did that code u would be on 7-1 but overall this game rocks!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Yay :D
Another great ninetendo classic game... I gotta say I have been waiting for this one to be available... Its one of my fave mario games... and agian like I said for the Donkey Kong game... for those of you who dont like it cause its simple... Its supposed to be... Doesnt have to hi tech to be a good game... some of the best games were the orginal ninetedo games

5-0 out of 5 stars THIS GAME ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(...) writing this from my vacation spot on lopez island. I thought I'd check out the first mario vs bowser game, and I found that IT WAS THE BEST MARIO GAME I EVER PLAYED!!!!!!!!!!! I can see why this game lifted mario to the top of the video game tower of success. this game has goombas on almost every level(goombas are the funnest to kill in my opinion), the famous doo dee doo doo da da tune, and in every castle you fight bowser. the graphics aren't great, but it makes no difference because of the awesome gameplay. In fact, once I started playing, I couldn't stop. rent this game first if you're not sure, I guarrentee you'll be hooked. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Gamecube/Game Boy Player = Perfect Combination
I've been playing with the Game Boy Player since it's March release in Japan. If you have any interest in some of the awesome Game Boy Advance games and don't own a Game Boy Advance system already, this is a must buy. If you already own a Game Boy Advance and a Gamecube, this is also a must buy and here's why.

With the GB Player you're able to play multiplayer games using your existing GBA system. Since the GB Player includes a GBA link port all you need is a game that supports multiplayer and a GBA link cable. Once hooked up, one player can use the TV screen and the other is able to use the GBA system.

I've been playing The Link to the Past: Four Swords like this since having the GB Player with my daughter and it's awesome! She plays on the TV screen and I play on the connected GBA system.

For the price of one single Gamecube game you now have the chance to play more than 1,000 Game Boy games on your TV. A must buy for any Nintendo fan.

5-0 out of 5 stars Simply amazing, like having a new game console
I purchased this accesory more out of curiosity than anything else; the price was not bad so I took the chance and I do not regret it.

The GameBoy Player (GB Player) accesory is connected to the High Speed port below your GameCube console (GC), it has two tiny screws to tighten it to your console and avoid accidental drops. An ejector button is also provided, to allow for proper removal. A Startup disc is included and required to activate the GB Player.

All features of a GameBoy Advance are included in the GameBoy Player (The Accessory Slot, the Game Pak Slot and the External Extension Connection). You can play the thousands of Game Boy, GameBoy Color, and Advance games available as with your handheld Advance console. You can also link other GB Advance units to the GB Player for multiplayer games using the External Extension Connector available, and you can normally use the e-Reader accesory as well.

When you turn on the GameCube with the GB Player and a cartridge game inserted on the GB Player (not the GB Advance), you'll see the game's startup screen as you will normally do with your GB Advance console, this time the display is transferred to the larger TV screen and surrounded by a graphical frame.

The games simply look wonderful, sharp and colorful. All the details that you simply miss in the limited GB Advance display screen are shown here on the big TV screen. I was expecting blocky, low-resolution graphics, but I was really surprised at the sharpness these Advance games have, even on larger screens.

You can play with a GameCube controller or use the GB Advance as a controller (provided that you have a GC/GB Advance cable). The Z button on the GC controller opens up the GB Player special options.
Special Options include:
- Frame Settings: There are 20 different and colorful frames to choose from
- Screen Size - You can have Full Size screen or Normal Viewing (a larger frame borders your game)
- Controller - This option tells the GB Player your button location preferences to take advantage of the additional buttons that the GC controller provides
- Screen Filter - This option adjusts image quality
- Timer - You can set a time reminder with a sound and a message on screen ("Time's up kiddo, dinner's ready")
- Change Game Pak - You are allowed to "hot-swap" your game paks, meaning that you do not need to turn off the power to switch games.

This was a great addition to my gaming "kingdom", I definitely recommend it.

4-0 out of 5 stars A must have for Game Boy owners.
Bring your Game Boy games to the big screen! I finally decided to get a GameCube because of this product. There were only a few GameCube titles I was interested in; not enough to purchase a system. But the ability to play my library of Game Boy titles on a large screen was something I couldn't pass up.

Perhaps you are old enough to remember the Super Game Boy for the Super NES (I still have these). This product does the same thing only better. It plays nearly all Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Game Boy Advance titles.* It supports the e-Reader and has a link cable port. You can use a GameCube controller or a actual GBA plugged into a GameCube controller port.

Using the Game Boy Player is a snap. Insert the boot disk and a game cartridge. Power up the GameCube and you can start playing right away. Tap the Z button and you can change a few options such as the border color and how you want the L+R shoulder buttons mapped. Just like a GBA, the left and right shoulder buttons stretch the screen when playing non-Advance titles. It couldn't be easier.

It's not perfect though. It's only available in black. I bought a black GameCube to match. I can imagine people with a colored cube may not appreciate the change in esthetics. I wonder if there are plans to ship more colors.

Having a boot disc is a drag. Why couldn't the software be put on a memory card or loaded from the player hardware itself? I suppose digging out a disc isn't that big of a deal, but they decided to put the disc in a unique sized container so it's hard to find on the shelf with my other games. Why? Why? Why? I plan on buying a regular sized GameCube disc container for it but I feel this should have been included.

I'm giving the Game Boy Player for GameCube four stars. Could have been five is it wasn't for the poor packaging and presentation.

*The manual claims a few titles won't play and mentions cartridges with tilt detectors and other special hardware.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome
I just bought the Game Boy Player earlier today. I love it, I wish I would of got this when it first came out. I prefer playing my Game Boy games on this player. Anyone who love there GBA/SP will love this item. Don't wait buy it now.

Step right up, boys and girls, for the greatest game in the living room! Balloon Lagoon, designed by the creators of Cranium, is possibly more fun than the carnival it emulates. After all, there's no sticky cotton candy mess, no nauseating rides…but plenty of entertaining activity for everyone. A noisy musical merry-go-round timer keeps the pressure on while players take turns fishing for letters to spell words, collecting matching snacks at the Snack Hut, pressing levers to spin wheels to unscramble pictures, or flipping frogs back into their pond. Players keep score by collecting little plastic balloons--the first person to fill a mover piece with 15 balloons wins. The game includes game board, timer, four carnival games, four player movers, 72 scoring balloons, and a balloon bag. Three AA batteries required (not included). Amazon.com Product Description

Kirby, that pink puffy resident hero of Dream Land, embarks on another adventure to save his neighbors from King Dedede, who has interrupted everyone's peaceful dreams. Kirby must collect the scattered pieces of the Star Rod and restore the Fountain of Dreams. How's he going to do this? By copying the bad guys' best moves and eating--yes, eating--them and their weapons. One copy of the game supports up to four players (via the separately sold Game Link Cable) with special mini games, but if there's a copy of the game in Game Boy Advance, players can play cooperatively through the game. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars This game is AWESOME!
The world's coolest pink ball is back with all new copy abilities, bosses, warp stars, and tons more! This game is awesome! Even though it doesn't take long to beat the game, you can play it a zillion times! Kirby lives higher than my expectations though the name sounded kinda wierd when I first heard it. That won't matter after you've played the game. Its way different from Kirby: The Crystal Shards because if you get hit, you lose your power and there's no combos. You can also float forever. One of the copy abilities is kinda dumb its called sleep. But that's the only one. The others like laser, UFO, and needle are cool.
Multiplayer is also awesome. You can fight bosses and everybody with your friends. The sub-games are pretty cool, but when you beat the game, you get the coolest sub-game.

10/10 - Graphics: they can't make it better.
10/10 - Gameplay: cool storyline.
9/10 - Bosses: the bosses are pretty easy until you get to
DeDeDe and the nightmares.
9/10 - Duration: doesn't last long (even thought there are 8
levels) but you can keep on playing over and over and...
you get the idea
10/10 - Control: easy to control
10/10 - Overall: definetly one of the coolest game for GBA; a
must have for EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

3-0 out of 5 stars snoring away in dreamland
One of the first games I ever beat was Kirby's Dreamland on my original old gray Gameboy. In fact, it might have been second after Super Mario Land. I loved it, and play it to this day mostly to see how quickly I can beat it.

The "new" Gameboy Advance game, Kirby: Nightmare in Dreamland is a remake of the NES Kirby game from 1993. It's pretty much a straight forward port of the original game, with some extra mini-games thrown in. Now, I never had an NES and although I've played Kirby on some emulators, I never beat it. So imagine my disappointment when I bought Nightmare in Dreamland Thursday afternoon, and by the next night had beaten it completely. It took about an hour and a half.

All the regular Kirby functions are there, his famous suck the enemies in and spit them out or absorb their abilities, etc, but there's nothing new and the game is far too easy and straight forward. I only died a few times before the final boss, and each time was out of pure laziness. The enemies present no real challenge, and the bosses are easy to figure out.

The graphics and sound of the game are nice and fun and what one expects from Kirby, and on the outside it seems like it would be a longer game. But it's not-the levels are very short, and I didn't find the mini-games interesting enough to play them very much. There are some levels where you can practically float through the entire thing without ever fighting an enemy.

The game itself is enjoyable, and very much fun to play, but once you've beat it there's really no point in playing it again. There is nothing new to find, really unless you feel like unlocking all the mini-games, and your big reward for beating the whole thing is yet another unlocked mini-game. It's still a Kirby game, and has all the charm of a Kirby game, but if you've played either of the Gameboy games or the original NES there is not a real reason to pick up Nightmare in Dreamland.

fun game but doesnt last long
Yes this game is very fun i got it yesterday and i alrdy beat it so if u play gameboy advance alot i wouldn't suggest this game u will beat it within hours.

3-0 out of 5 stars For a gamer like me, TOO SHORT
Since the SNES days, I have been a tremendous fan of Kirby. The little pink fluff ball can easily addict you to play, so I picked this game up from a local store. On the box it seemed pretty cool, but what glitters isn't gold. My family was going on a trip, so I brought the game along. It appeared after one and a half hours I was bored with nothing to do. I was very disappointed with this game.

Graphics: (3/5) The graphics are SNES quality, not so great. The backrounds aren't detailed at all and could use more work. Also, the enemies are poorly animated and are the exact size as our main hero Kirby, but don't put up a fight. Not great.

Storyline (3/5) I guess this is a strong point of the game, but still very weak. These nightmares have been attacking the dream fountain, and King Dedede stole the star wand. Its up to Kirby to save Dream Land before the nightmares take over. Not much detail or drama, at all. Meh.

Gameplay (2/5) Ok, sure new morphs were added in (they are sooooo cool!), but the gameplay is really bad. The levels can take as much as a minute and a half to complete for a novice gamer, and there are only five levels and a boss per world. Since there are seven worlds that have five levels in them, that is only about an hour and fifteen minutes worth of gameplay. Then on level eight, the final boss, there are tons of forms so it takes around 10-15 minutes to kill. I could point out about a thousand new morph and level ideas to make this game longer.

Controls: (3/5) The controls are really simple (THANKFULLY), but I dont think there is a use for the L and R buttons - I forget, I haven't played the game in ages- which is minus two points. And there are no combo's or anything combining two buttons. That makes the game bland and standard.

Replay Value (2/5) The replay value stinks as well. There is only one secret if you beat the game with 100%, and I do not find it worth playing. I'm not sure about you, but I wouldn't want to play those easy levels again. Not good.

Overall:(2.7/5) We'll just call that three stars. The game isn't a horrible one for ages 4-7, but aside from that, it's a piece of cake. This game does have really bad points, but it has some good ones too. I love the mini-games and arena fights. That just brings back the memories of playing the classic Kirby. I wouldn't recommend buying this game at all, but instead you should go rent it. Overall the game will satisfy you anywhere from 2 hours to 2 days.

8 games for the price of 1!
Ultimate Brain Games has proven to be worth the money I paid for it. The "Sink the Ships" game is surprisingly fun--more fun than "Battleship". Chess is quite challenging for the limited capabilities of a gameboy game (with 7 other games taking up resources). Majhong, Reversi, and Connect Four are difficult (which is a good thing) and as user friendly as any computerized versions. The game also offers Checkers, Backgammon, and Dominoes as well as a design your own character feature which is mildly enjoyable, but not all that important.

The graphics are mediocre. The music is quite good for a gameboy advance game, but still annoying enough for me to keep the volume turned down.

Ultimate Brain Games is a great cure for boredom. Just pick it up, select a game that suits your immediate fancy, and play. Convenient, challenging, and full of possibilities.

5-0 out of 5 stars Ultimate Brain Games......
It's about time that someone thought of doing this for the Gameboy Advance. There's some of us out here that enjoy playing games of this nature and I tip my hat to Telegames for having the courage to release a collection of this type. For instance, there's Chess, Checkers, Backgammon, Mahjong, Dominoes, 4-in-a-Row, Sink the Ships, and Reversi so there's plenty of variety to choose in what to play as well as the Face Creator feature which permits player customization. You can select full 3-D or 2-D views with animation, board types, figure styles and backgrounds. You can pick your computer opponent from a list of 12 different male and female faces with animated expressions, Edit the playlist(from the over 1-hour game music playlist) to only hear what you want and more. Heck, you can even play against a real opponent with one game pak and a link cable to his or her GBA. I really think Telegames did an excellent job with this game. Giving us a good quality collection of games with lots of variety.
If you're into classic strategy games of this sort, you ought to give Ultimate Brain Games a try. It's awesome.

5-0 out of 5 stars brain games
this is like the best game ever because i love chess, and checkers!!So I gave it 5 stars!Plus my dad love dominioes!

4-0 out of 5 stars One of the mind loving titles for the GBA
This is a great collection of games. They all play equally well. The graphics here are not mind blowing but they do convey the felling of each game. However Mahjong Solitare lacks detail making a few of the tiles hard to say. Also, the lightness of the tile indictates how many tiles are under it, this can be annoying because by the time you get the last time it is dark indeed.

The game also has a mini playlist that lets you pick your music and this does work well, and is a fun addition.

The difficulty for most games is a relative fair. however as you increase the difficult it the computer takes increasing longer to make a move.

Meant to simulate the fun activities found at water theme parks, the Splash Balls Sprinkler is way wackier than an ordinary sprinkler system. When the hot weather arrives, this crazy-looking sprinkler easily attaches to the end of any garden hose. Turn the water on and the sprinkler’s "arms" start wiggling around and spraying water from the foam balls on their ends. Eight colorful and wildly flailing hoses on the sprinkler’s head further soak anyone in the immediate area. The sprinkler stands over 3 feet tall and comes with a ground stake that keeps it sturdily planted in a grassy backyard. The balls and hoses are also securely attached for safety. --Cristina Vaamonde ... Read more

Kids loved it, hard to keep in ground
I bought this toy for an outside party for my son. The kids loved it! The only problem we had was keeping it in the ground once the grass got soaked. I would buy it again.

Great Sprinkler, Great Price!
This is a great sprinkler overall. I operate a home daycare and the kids love running through the water on hot afternoons. And, I can control how crazy the water comes out by changing the water pressure in the hose.

My only problem with the sprinkler has been getting it to stay upright. I can't get the plastic spikes on the bottom into my lawn. I've tried standing it up in a bucket of gravel but that's not working well either! So make sure you have a 'soft' area to stick the spikes in.

Great sprinkler for getting soaked!!
My daughter is 16 months old and absolutely loves this sprinkler. I bought it for my nephew's birthday and all the kids had a blast.

My only problem is that the foam tears easily, but does not affect the sprinkler at all. You just have to make sure the kids don't tug at the arms.

A great value for the price!!

Rocks in spades!
Fun to be had by all. You haven't invested alot of money, but it is worth every penny! Don't expect it to last for summers to come, but for this summer your little ones will have a ball. If you are looking for a sprinkler to run and jump through this is your spinkler! ... Read more

Watch out Emeril! Future Gourmet Chef at work!
We got this for our daughter's 2nd birthday after reading ALL the reviews, and even wrote to Step 2 FIRST to inquire about some common problems. The dishrack HAS been fixed and the dishes don't fall out. The instructions don't seem to be in a logical order: we put the decals on FIRST while the pieces are easier to get to(which are very forgiving: you can remove if not lined up right!); make SURE you have batteries (12 AA for the Dream kitchen); put spindles and door/drawer knobs on before assembling big pieces together. Just seems to make more sense that way. Took about an hour for the 2 of us to assemble. Some holes are NOT drilled, so have a drill on hand. The fridge door is fine on ours, but the keypad next to the microwave is not quite centered, so the microwave door catches on it and is hard to open and close. Maybe can remedy by redrilling the top hole for keypad. Also like the idea of taping a string behind keypad for ease of removing to change batteries.

Lots of FUN sounds and "boiling/sizzling" sounds also stop on their own after about a minute. Daughter LOVES it so far! Well Worth the money, but shop around: found $15 difference in shipping cost from here to Target.com. VERY durable: 20lb cat jumped up on it - didn't tip or move at all! After the assembly, you'll love it! Hope/expect to have many years of fun play out of it!

The Best Kitchen Out There
My daughter received this kitchen for Christmas when she was
1 1\2. I was worried she wouldn't be interested in it, i thought maybe she was a little young, but she started to play with it right away, and hasn't stopped since. Everyday she is cooking Mommy something. It wasn't as hard to put together as i thought, and it is very durable. My daughter plays rough, and not one thing is broken or cracked. My only regret for this kitchen is it doesn't have a lot of counterspace. Ever since she got it, everyone wants to buy her blenders, and coffepots, and toasters, but there is no room to put it in her kitchen. Also my daughter wishes the faucet made noise. it is a great value for the money as well. It's is the only kitchen I could find that wasn't pink & purple, and I plan to have a boy eventually, and I try to buy larger toy items that can be used by either a girl ot a boy. This is a GREAT value, and anyone in the market for a kid's kitchen should definitely purchase this one.

Well worth the money!
I bought this for my daughter's 2nd birthday and she loves it. It keeps her occupied like no other toy she has. She loves to help me in the kitchen and now she has her own, her size. I read other reviews about this product and I didn't have any of the problems other people say they did. It was easy to put together, I do, however, recommend using an electric screwdriver, it'll go much faster that way. My daughter thinks the overhead light is the coolest thing ever and no worries, it shuts itself off within minutes if they forget to. So no wasting batteries. This kitchen is well worth the money I paid for it and has all the storage space they could need for thier dishes and food. My only complaint, actually it's more my daughters, is that she wishes the faucet made noise like everything else does.
Anyway, all the doors fit right and it is sturdy. My advice is just take your time assembling it. I'd say it took me about an hour to put it all together, decals and all.

My 3 yaer ols son recieved this as a gift for his 3rd birthday. He has played with it everyday since he got it. Its big and has lots of things to do. And I LOVE that it is the only kitchen out there that is not pink and purple. It suits either a boy or a girl. It was very easy to put together and you dont have to worry about it tipping over onto anyone. The bottm is heavy enough to support the wieght on the top. This is a vary good bike my freind has it im getting it, the other people say the spokes(mags)will brake if you jump ramps but thay dont. It's good for jumpind it has good color too, grips dont give you marks on your hand. If i were you i would get it.

mongoose ace
the mongoose ace is a good bike for a 10 year old kid. The rims are plastic, but if you bend your knees when you land , you will land soft,so the rims will not break. It shouldnt be used by teenagers, .

This bike is cool
This bike is fun but if you are the type of person that likes to do jumps and air tricks I suggest you buy different rim thingies because the ones that come with the bike are plastic. I just changed mine and now the bikes great I would suggest this bike to anyone who is intersested.

its a nice bike

I own this bike and I think it rocks! Yeah, it does take some time going up a hill, but get used to it. I know the first time I rode it, I thought that is was hard as livin' mess to push, but a week later BAM! It was easy because I got used to it. DUH!
So, who cares if the rims are plastic. I think that they look pretty cool. But if they break, ORDER NEW ONES! But the whole rest of the bike looks totally cool,so whats the matter with it. I can get alot of air on it too. Oh,and did I mention that the braking ummm.. ROCKS! So when you break it all down, the bike rocks! So go and buy it! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Tie fighter
This toy is awesome! I got this for the pilot, but it's better than I expected. It's really fragile, but it is really cool. I was dissapointed when I saw the pilot. It has no face! I feel sorry for him.

I only have one issue, Darth Vader can't move his hand. He can't come apart either. But thats just me.

5-0 out of 5 stars easy to assemble
I have a little boy as obsessed with Star Wars as his Daddy. (ok, Mommy likes it too.)This is super easy to assemble, unlike some lego sets. It does not stay together well, but what was a tie fighter today is a blaster tomorrow, right? As I said SUPER EASY to put together.

4-0 out of 5 stars Tie'd for the best of the re-releases
Being that I didn't get into the Star Wars Lego line until early 2003, I missed out on a huge number of sets. Now, I am not a big fan of re-releases--mainly because I was able to get about 85% of all the Star Wars sets I wanted thanks to [...] anyway, and also because the originals then become sort of obsolete. But the #7146 TIE Fighter was one I failed to obtain (at first; I have it now), and I was glad to see Lego changed almost nothing from the original. And what they did change was for the better (although they did get rid of the Stormtrooper).

The sleek look of the TIE Fighter is exactly the same as before, the colors are all identical, and they enhanced the Vader minifig by giving him an illustrious light-up lightsabre. I believe this was the first set to include that detail. And while they replaced my favorite minifig, the Stormtrooper, with a TIE Pilot, they also did away with that ridiculously unsteady stand thing (the main reason there's 10 fewer pieces on this set). Had they included that again, the durability would've been about a two, at best. The TIE stands better on its own anyway, although it is still a bit unstable. Oh well. Putting this set together took no longer than a half-hour, which is pretty average for a piece count of 159. It was a very easy set to assemble, with most of the building time going into the two (identical) wings.

The TIE Fighter is one of the most recognizable ships in the Star Wars universe, since it appeared in episodes IV-VI and is set to appear yet again in Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith. Although I don't consider this set to be part of the Episode III line, it was released at about the same time and compliments a Lego collection very nicely either way. If you already own the original TIE Fighter from back in 2000, ask yourself whether or not a light-up lightsabre is worth the price of an almost-identical set. Otherwise, pick this up before you miss out on it. Again.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome Toy
This TIE Fighter is the best toy I've ever had. At first some of it kept falling apart. But then I tightened it the best I could. So now, I can play with it as tight as can be.

4-0 out of 5 stars Nice Set
I really like the Tie Fighter in this set. I don't really like the Darth Vader light-up light saber. It's one of the strongest sets I've ever built. This set has a great form and also can be a link to Death Star II or the Imperial Star Destroyer. ... Read more
