A Big Hit in the Tub!
My daughter loves this bath toy. She loves Sesame Street, and this is just perfect. We ask her where each character is, and she picks them up and shows us. What's great about it is that the toys don't have holes in the bottom of them, so no water gets in them. She is also fascinated by the palm tree and the water that showers out of it. I use the palm tree to wet her hair down to wash it. Definetly a great bath toy!

Great fun in the tub!
My son, wo loves Sesame Street, has this toy and loves it. He gets so excited to take a bath with Elmo and the gang. He even hates getting out of the tub. I used the flotable toys in the pool, which he got a kick out of and only added to his creativity.

It's a great bathtime toy!

Hours of bathtime fun!!
My son got this for his first birthday and we've had fun playing with it every bath since! He loves to put Elmo and Telly and Ernie on the edge of the tub and make them dive! It's a durable bath toy...doesn't get all coroded like some others. I would highly recommend!

Fun for the Sesame Street Fan
I recently bought this toy for my 19 month old daughter who I was having trouble getting into the tub. As a huge Elmo fan, I must admit, I had great success after putting this in the tub with her! She loves to pour water into the spinning palm tree, kisses Elmo endlessly and just overall loves this toy. I inspected each figurine prior to putting it into the tub for fear of cracks in the seams which could lead to mold issues, as stated by other parents but fortunately there were none. Overall a cute toy.

Great toy!
My son has had this toy for over a year now, and he still loves to play with it in the tub. It's durable, and fun. Haven't had any mold problems with it. ... Read more

Editorial Review

Most painters have to clean up after they're done, but with this set of five bright finger-paintsoaps, you can paint and get clean at the same time.Squeeze a dab of each color into the enclosedhand-shaped artist's palette and you're all set to turn your tub into an impressionistic masterpiece. When it's toweltime, wipe the pigment away using the included fish-shaped sponge. Don't forget to wear a beret in the tubfor the right effect. Paints are orange, blue, yellow, green, and purple. They are not heavily scented, and thepigments are child friendly. --Richard Farr ... Great idea, but you can't really see the paint
Well, my daughter LOVED the thought of painting in the tub. This product looked like just the ticket. Cute colors, sponge to clean up, what more could you ask? Well, the only problem is that you can't really see the colors! I'm sure if she used half of the small bottles of paint, it might show up as a darker color, however with the small amount of paint used to fill the holder, you can barely make a mark. Cute idea, but disappointing in reality.

Weak colors make it frustrating for toddlers
My daughter likes to play with this, but she often gets frustrated that the colors don't show up well. As other reviewers have said, the colors are runny and very soapy, so they don't stick well to the wall unless it is totally dry, and they don't show up as bright colors. The palatte idea is nice because the child has a place to store the colors while she's painting, but the space to put the colors is so small, that there's a need to refill often. My daughter usually ends up painting on herself more than on the wall, which I guess is ok, but she's not really drawing, just smearing colors all over herself. This means there's a lot of rinsing off time needed. If the colors were brighter and stuck on better, she could actually draw a picture and get into the pretend play more. This was a gift that came with extra paints, and I'm just happy to use it up so I can try something else. The bath crayons, for example, are much more satisfying for a child to use.

Paint is lightly colored shampoo- Don't Buy!
Good idea, but it doesn't work. The "paint" was lightly tinted shampoo, it didn't show up at all. Don't these people test this stuff before they sell it. Another big waste of $$.

Concept sounded good....
but the quality is lacking on this product.
Spending a little time browsing for interesting tub toys to entice my then15 mo into the tub, I found this set. Unfortunately, this toy wasn't a winner. The "paint" is more like slightly-tinted shampoo (same consistency and level of opaqueness) which makes "painting" very unsatisfying. My son spent a few minutes playing with the fish sponge-- that's been the extent of it. A better alternative has been the foam alphabet letters (several months playing and still going strong) and plastic containers for pouring water-- who knew?

Falls below expectations
Pass on this one - it's a great idea but the colors are runny and not very vibrant. The soap also stings when it gets in the eyes and gave my child a rash. ... Read more

Great Toy!
This toy is great. My 1 year old daughter got it as a gift and she already knows in waht order they go. Is very durable and the colors are very festive.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Buy!!!
Great toy, my 7mo. son loves to play with these pails. The one with the water is a bit heavy so I have to limit the play to the carpeted area in my house for fear that my son may throw it & chip our tile floor. The only complaint that I have is that on the babies r us site they are listed under bath toys, and this is definately not for use in water. For outside the tub its a blast!!!!!! (Look for the Ocean Wonders fishbowl also, its got great sounds, and more flutter balls & it does go great with the pails!!!)

5-0 out of 5 stars I love these
These are fabulous. much beter than plain nesting pails

5-0 out of 5 stars A great toy!
My daughter has been playing with this toy since she first sat up on her own, at 5 months. She loves it!! The bottom pail is a little heavy, but she mostly plays with the smaller two pails, and she LOVES the little pink ball. The whole toy packs up so compactly so we can take it anywhere. We even took it on vacation to Florida, but without the heavy bottom pail. Besides nesting, the pails stack up very well upsidedown, and my daughter loves to knock them down. The colors are fun and so are the moving parts. This is one of her favorite toys!

5-0 out of 5 stars My son loves this toy!
I received this as a gift when he was born and had put it away until recently. He is 9 months old and absolutely loves this thing!! It does not seem to be too heavy for him at all (although he is large for his age), and has held up well with very rough play (he loves to throw things). I would recommend, but for older babies. ... Great Learning Toy!
My kids have this toy. They love making their names or words out of the letters.

I find it totally unexceptable for someone to attack someone else. This is for REVIEWS, not to attack people. Who cares if shes not who she says she is? She wrote a good review. She didn't use "their" instead of "there" anyway, and two exclamations is a common mistake. She was probably in a hurry.

Grow up and get a life.

Amazon Has The Age Recommendation Wrong
I just wanted to let anyone who was thinking about buying this item that Amazon has the age recommendation listed incorrectly. Amazon states in the item description that their age recommendation as well as the manufacturers recommendation is 24+ months. I recently bought this for my son. When I received it I was very surprised and upset to see how small the pieces were. I didn't think it was appropriate for a 24 month old. I looked on the container and it says for ages 3 and up. I emailed amazon and after explaining what happend I was able to return the item and get refunded for my shipping costs as well since I was mislead by Amazon's description. However, I would have assumed that once Amazon knew they incorrectly listed the appropriate age for this item that they would have changed it.

I plan on buying this toy
I have been looking for new bath toys for my daughter and can't wait to buy these letters (and the animals). I found all of these reviews very helpful, especially the one from the teacher! I also believe that it is important for children to learn both upper and lower-case letters.
What I find "inexcusable", however, is the attack made on the teacher that took the time to write an informative review. I would think that someone with a "modicum of intelligence" would understand that these reviews are here for a parents' benefit, and are meant to help all of us buy the best products available for our children. Isn't THAT what is most important"!!!!!!"

Thanks to the teacher for her review!
I have two grandkids who live with me. They are two and three, and they love this toy!
I agree with the teacher who commented on the importance of teaching little ones lower-case letters before upper-case ones. I, too, have had a tough time finding lower-case letters to teach them with.
Co-incidentally, an occasional mispelling on a teacher's part is understandable; it must be trying, having to deal with bored, discontent parents on a regular basis.

also a teacher
Great toy. I have read the other reviews and generally agree with them. I do, however, question the veracity of the reviewer claiming to be a teacher. First of all, she used a double exclamation point, which is never correct. If we excuse that based on the fact that this is an "informal" forum, I suppose that would be okay. What is inexcusable to me, however, and leads me to believe that she must either not be a teacher, or must not be a very good one, is that she used the wrong form of "there" in her review (she used "their" which is incorrect in this instance). By the way, I am not a teacher. Just someone with a modicum of intelligence. ... Read more

These are not designed for teething anyway!
Anyone who buys these should have a 24 month old AT LEAST, (or at least a not a baby whos going to chew them apart) It says right on the manufactors recommended age 24 months and up. A child could choke or get hurt teething on these things if he has teeth and can tear them apart. They're for older kids!

My kids have recieved these and the numbers ones. They love them but I don't allow them around the baby because he could choke.

Sorry to be a downer but it's the truth.

5-0 out of 5 stars Clean, fun and durable
I bought these a few months ago for my son, who is now 9 months old. I was looking for something easy to clean, that wouldn't mildew and would be easy enough for a 6 month old to grab. The fish have been perfect. He has 6 teeth now and some of the fish are severely battle scarred, but none of them have come apart -- not so much as a tip of a fin is missing. It's easy to shove a handful of them into a suitcase for trips, which helps make a strange place a little more comfortable during his bedtime routine. I only wish they came in bolder colors.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great fun in the water or out
My 20 month old daughter just got these for Easter, and loves them. She likes just carrying the container around and scattering a trail of octopus, fish, sharks and dolphins everywhere. I don't know that these would be durable enough to be teethers though. She wasn't that fascinated that they stick to the sides of the bathtub, but did like sticking them to herself, and moving them back and forth from the water to making piles on the sides of the tub. I think she enjoys the colors, and it holds her interest and keeps her busy, both in the water and out. This will be a future gift for the 18 month plus crowd, great idea!

5-0 out of 5 stars NOT for a Teething Child!
I bought this product for my 11 month old -- but would not give it to him after I realized how easy it was to tear them. There is a reason that the manufacturer recommended 24 months and up. Based on what I had read about them -- I believed that they would be much stronger, more durable and were suitable for a child that was teething. That is NOT the case. He would have easily had a chunk of these in his mouth in no time. I think that this product could easily be a choking hazard for a young child and I would be very cautious about buying them as teethers. I do like them however and I plan to give these to him when he is a little older. I think it will be fun to use them to teach him colors and new words. I would just advise against buying them for a young child that is teething.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fun Bath Toy!
Both of my daughters, ages 2 and 4, love these fish. The set includes dozens of different colored fish in many shapes and sizes. Some fish have tiny eyes that are best removed before first use, since a child might try to eat them. Each fish is two colors, one per side, so there are lots of combinations for using them. My older girl likes to sort them by shape or color. My little girl likes to take them in and out of the container. The container has holes in the bottom, so you can store the fish without them getting moldy. I always keep the top off the lid as well for extra ventilation. These are well made and very durable, although I don't think using them as teethers is a good idea. They will definitely tear if chewed too much. They stick to the wet walls of the tub as well as to wet skin, they float, and encourage creative, pretend play. A great value for the price in terms of the amount of time they keep a child engaged. I plan to buy the letters set next! ... Read more

Great bath time toy
My 20 month old son loves trucks and cars and this in the only bath set we could find with stick on vehicles. He loves to stick the cars and roads on the side of the tub and on his tummy. They stick well and seem to be very durable. The picture on site does not show the product well. It comes with cars, trucks, stop lights and stick on roads. All nicely packaged in a handy storage tub. It is very similar to the tub letters and numbers we also bought on Amazon. He loves to play with these as well. ... Read more

Great books!
Or should I say book. We only have the Farm Bath book but it is wonderful. My 1 year old loves when I (Mommy) make the farm animal noises. The colors are bold and the things to look at around the animals seem to lure the most of his attention (like the bird on the pigs back). I wish they sold these books separately here so I could buy the two I don't have. ... Read more

cute idea but not easy to use
first of all to get all the pieces to the pool requires a small bag, then the toy does not stay connected in the pool as soon as the smallest wave comes near it. the toy does make sounds but my daughter still at two does not seem to be to impressed.

3-0 out of 5 stars Mediocre at best
My kids (3.5 and 2) received this as a gift, and at first I was excited--it's cute and colorful. In theory, a great toy. However, my kids don't like it. Water gets inside the dolphins and when this happens, they won't make noises (easily remedied by shaking the water out of them, but my kids don't have the patience for this). They also get very frustrated that the rings that the dolphins sit in do NOT stay linked together. Slight movements that disturb the water will cause the chain to come apart. I'm sure that this would be a favorite bath toy with a few improvements made by the company.

3-0 out of 5 stars It's gotten a bad rap from some!
We got this toy for our son when he was 11 months old. He has a great time with it and he was able to make the dolphins "sing" after about a week of playing with it. You don't have to hit them hard to make sound. They whistle for him with a tap. We do have to shake the water out from time to time or they do stop working but that is an easy fix. Our son has now learned to blow in the bottom end and make them whistle. He plays with them in many different ways. They do take up quite a bit of space in the tub but we don't mind. He's having fun.

3-0 out of 5 stars Get Your Childs Immagination Going With Fun For All Ages
We bought this for our 1 year old granddaughter 3 years ago, even though it said for 18 months & up she loved splashing & this got her to go for the dolphins. The older she gets the more she learns with it. From the different sounds to putting the colored dolphin in the same colored ring to hooking them together, & now to making music & making up her own songs to go with her music. Just watch out for parents wanting to play with it too(not wanting to share with children). I am getting another one for our newest granddaughter that is 6 months. She too can start out learning how to tap the dolphins for sound. This tub toy is so colorful & has not lost any of it's color over the years. Fun & educational at the same time, who says learning has to be boring? Not Tomy.

3-0 out of 5 stars waste of money
With minimal effort, this toy could be useful and fun, but as is, it is neither. The rings in which the dolphins sit do not hook together easily, nor do they stay together once hooked. The dolphins definitely don't play music by "tapping" on the dolphins. Neither my 4 YO or 2 YO like the toy - a terrfic waste of money. This was the last TOMY toy in this house. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars We Love the Tub
I bought this for my daughter when she was 10 months old - it was highly recommended in a magazine. She is over 2 years old and still plays with it. The yellow top lifts off so you have a red bowl with holes to pour water. She still likes putting the little men in and out of the holes. The sail has a whistle, and she learned how to blow on this when 10 months old. This was her first whistle and she could hold it easily herself. She loves assembling and disassembling the toy. It is small so it travels well and is very durable. When my son was born, we learned that it was the first bathtime toy he would always reach for - perhaps due to the bright colors. This was well worth the price. I don't know about it's educational value, but I used it to help teach my daughter her colors. I suppose it also helped teach her the concept of in/out and helps wih manual dexterity.

Must have for kids!
Just got word that this gift was an instant success with my nieces. Although, keep in mind that this is not a toy for infants. 1 year and older is the norm.

Happy nephews
This bath tub toy has been a great hit for my 2 nephews ages 4 1/2 and 1 1/2. It's the only toy they play with now at bath time. They take it all apart and divide up the pieces so they each have something to play with. It was one of our Christmas gifts to them, and best of all.... it doesn't make noise like most of the other hi-tech toys they have! They have to use their imagination with this one, and have learned sharing.

Best Bath Toy
My son who just turned two would stay in the tub for hours to play with toy. He loves to take it apart, play with the individual pieces and put it back together again. He identifies the colors and counts. He has to carry at least one of the animals out of the tube with him. It is easy to clean and retains no water. Overall an ideal bath toy

Great Toy, Ambitious Age Range
My son would have loved this when he was 1 year old, but now that he is almost 3, he doesn't play with it as much. I think it is best suited for younger toddlers and that the age range is overstated.

That said, the toy is very durable and has so many features. There is so much to do, all packed into one little toy. We particularly like the whistle built into the sail.

I only wish that the water would drain out of the yellow part a little easier. ... Read more

Very challenging to open and get the ducks back inside
My 16 month old daughter loves ducks. This toy was fun at first, but the back of the mother duck is very hard to open, even for me. Once it's open, she leaves it open which causes it to fill with water. The little ducks are easily lost in a bubble filled tub. So the mother duck gets most of the action. Overall it's not that great a toy. It's stiff and hard for wet hands to manuever.

1-0 out of 5 stars Finally, an easy-to-clean bath toy!
Why do so many bath toys have holes in the bottom, allowing bath water to enter and moulder and render the toy disgustingly no fun?

Hurray for BRIO and their sweet duck family -- no holes!!

My 14-month-old got this toy for her birthday and she loves it! With a little help to hold momma duck's lid open, she has no problem putting the baby ducks away, then taking them back out, then putting them away again.

Hands-down, our favorite bath toy!!

1-0 out of 5 stars a little disapointed..
We got this set for our 1 yr old, hoping to encourage her to have more fun in the bath. She liked it pretty well at first, liked picking up the ducks, but she couldn't (and still can't) open the momma duck by herself. She's 17 months old now, and she never plays with it anymore at all. Also, the ducks really want to stay upside down in the water. I really wouldn't recommend this duck set, even though it's cute.

1-0 out of 5 stars A must have for the bath!
I am a big fan of simple toys that let kids use their imagination, and this toy fits the bill! My 2 year old twins love this toy at tubbie time! Sometimes the ducks are racecars, sometimes they are all brothers or sisters, and my kids have practiced saying their colors with this toy! I love that there are 3 baby ducks (less fights since there's plenty to go around) and that they all can be stored inside mama duck. Just be sure to shake them out after bathtime is over to get the excess water out. A great buy! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars My Son Loves This
I bought these for my son for a change of pace from the usual boats and fish.He couldn't be happier! Our Piglet doesn't fall over, in fact my son can push it across the tub like a speedboat. They also dry quickly which is great since the only way I can get my son out of the tub is to let him take them out with him.

1-0 out of 5 stars Not recommended
My daughter is 18 months and she could care less if they are in the tub.Pooh is really heavy and hard (dangerous) and Piglet doesn't float upright, he falls over.

3-0 out of 5 stars cute bath toy, BUT...
These bath buddies are so cute. I was a little conserned that pooh's shorts might be cloth and that they could be taken off (I have a 20 month old and I would get to put them on a hundred times), but they are part of pooh. Piglet is also cute and is floating in a tube that is also a water sqwirter; which my kids love, BUT piglet will NOT stay upright, he floats on his side. I am very disappointed in this. If I would have known that he wouldn't float correctly I would not have bought this toy because it makes my son very angery that piglet will not float upright. ... Read more

not worth it
This toy was a waste of $$ for our little one, I do not recommend it to anyone. The squirting parts do not work well on ours, and it is big and bulky. Just not worth buying in my opinion.

Durable, with lots of ways to play
We've been using this toy for over a year, and it still looks and works like new. The various moving parts provide lots of fun activities. As the child gets older, he/she will find new things to do with it, such as running water from the faucet onto the wheel to make it spin. Be sure to submerge it once at the start of bathtime so it floats properly.

Lots of Bathtime Fun
My husband got this for my son for his first birthday. It makes a great in the bath as well as out of the bath toy! He enjoyed playing with it mostly out of the bath for about 6 months and has rediscovered it as a new and exciting bathtoy. The squirting octopus is the best! ... Read more
