Disney Building Bucket: Cinderella's Castle
I bought this toy for my 1 year-old little girl so she could have a set of blocks of her own, different from her 5 year-old brother (although he likes to play with it too). She likes to stack the blocks and plays with Cinderella and the horse too. I like the fact that all the pieces fit inside its own storage container. Adorable!

Cinderella's Castle a Dream Toy
After my daughter got an ABC Train, also by Mega Bloks, from Grandma for her birthday, I knew that the Cinderella Castle would make a great Christmas gift. All of the blocks are sturdy and interchangeable, so my daughter builds the castle into a massive tower or anything she wants. The blocks are different sizes, shapes, and colors - no more simple squares. The set comes with Cinderella and an adorable horse. We also bought the add-on set with another Cinderella, plus Belle and Ariel. Any toy that encourages imaginative play is a hit with me!

Mega Bloks Cinderella Castle
My three (almost four) year old daughter was excited to receive this gift for Christmas. The pony and Cinderella blok were a big plus. And it has all of the favorite "girl colors" - pink, purple, lavender, yellow and Cinderella blue. That's the good part. The bloks are contained in a sturdy plastic box with a pink castle roof decorated with hearts and roses and includes a clock.

The problems with this toy - there are no instructions or diagrams included showing how to build the castle as shown on the plastic container. There is a picture to give you an idea but the pony is blocking the view. My biggest beef with this product - the castle lid does not snap onto the box so my 20 month old son dumps it at every opportunity. Consequently, I have been picking these blocks up several times a day every day since Christmas - they've been scattered behind a chair for the last couple of days because I've given up. I'm beginning to wish Uncle Bill and Aunt Cindy had chosen another gift.... ... Read more

These are a favorite with all the babies in our playgroup!
My son loves these blocks. He started to enjoy watching me stack them up and knock them down at around 5 months old. Now, at 8 months old, he loves playing with them himself. Compared to other blocks I've seen, these seem easier for him to hold onto and more interesting to look at. They're just the right size and they have textured sides that make it easier for him to grip. All the babies in our playgroup (ages 5 to 11 months) loved playing with them.

5-0 out of 5 stars cute blocks
these are fun blocks. I wish that each block was a sgreat as the next but most are all great

3-0 out of 5 stars Not for infants!
These blocks say for ages 6 months. I think that's too early. We have the sound blocks for our 7 month old baby, and out of the 6 blocks in the set, he can only get sounds out of 3 of them. The other three require the ability to push a lever or turn a dial - a 6 month old can't do that. And one of the ones you push has to be pushed very forcefully to get a squeak out of it, and another has a bumpy texture on it which hurts my finger, let alone an infants. These are definitely geared towards older kids. I had been very excited about them, but I don't think I'm going to by anymore of these blocks.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not for young babies
I was excited to update my sons toys when he turned 6 months old, so I purchased these blocks. He is now 8 months old and doesn't enjoy these blocks one bit. He will look inside the block for only a second and then throws himself back demanding something else. I am going to put these toys away for a few months, and hopefully we will get our moneys worth further down the road.

5-0 out of 5 stars Such a great buy
These blocks are an excellent buy! A small baby will enjoy looking at them and the noises some make. As he or she ages, they "discover" the things inside. Then they realize they can build towers. My son is now ten months old and is really beginning to enjoy each block. I bring home a new set now and then and he KNOWS they are different from all of the other ones. It's really interesting. And they are such a reasonable price! ... Read more

Editorial Review

Princess Anneliese wears a crown of gold and has a well-coiffed pet cat, while Erika wears a crown of cornflowers and has a not so pampered house cat. Still, it’s hard to tell the princess from the pauper here--they both look pretty and pampered! Each of their dresses is long and gorgeous, and so are their shiny brown and chestnut tresses. Social labels don’t apply with a duo of dolls anyway; they can share and exchange clothes and lots of accessories, and tell people their story on the included sampler CD. And to prove their social equality, press a button on their backs and they sing together--in harmony.--Diane Beall ... Read more

A toy I remember from my childhood
Two year old really enjoys building with this. The older children also played with this when it first arrived.
Reasonably priced and not available in stores. I like the case, although the clasps seemed like they would break - but they have survived, so far.

Great if it stays together
I bought this for my son when he was 3. He loved building things but the blocks just didn't stay together. He would work on his creation and as soon as he picked it up it would fall apart. They just don't seem to hold together like I remember Bristle Blocks doing when I was a child. The suitcase they came in was great. He has all of his cars in it now.

fun for younger ones, too.
We had these on a long vacation with two toddlers ages 1 and 1.5. A big hit! easier to manage than lego-style blocks since they can fit together without being aligned exactly. The bristled texture is very interesting to younger ones and they like to just carry them around, one in each fist, putting then together and taking them apart. An excellent car seat or airplane toy, even the tub. For the youngest we just pulled out the smallest pieces. Every child that visits likes them too. I've bought 4 sets now as gifts.

I remember these from my childhood and they were even more popular with the kids than I expected. It's true, I've never seen then in a retail store, only a couple of places online. Too bad, a lot more fun to many kids than duplos.

Some fun but...
My 3 year old son likes building toys and has great imaginative play with characters..robots, animals, etc. I thought this would be a great set other than the legos he plays with all the time. For some reason, he and his 5 year old sister can play with this bristle set for a few minutes and get tired of it real quick. Maybe I need to get an additional set with more pieces for them to explore.

The bristles hold on to one another pretty well but the things they built...castles, cars, etc are not so sturdy or playable as legos.

Overall, a good diversify building set for the imaginative child.

can't get them in the store!
I enjoyed playing with these as a child and I've been looking for them for my sons. I found them here (toysrus.com) and assumed they would be carried at my local...store. Guess what - they're not! If you want them, order them here. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Do not buy this product!
I brought these blocks for my 15 month old niece. The picture on the website was deceptive. When the blocks arrived the paint was coming off on alot of the blocks and the toy looked really old. I guess you get what you pay for in this case I didn't really get much for my [money]

Horrible Quality!!!
I ordered 12 of these toys and the quality was just horrible! Some people complained about the paint fading fast. . . how about - some of my blocks didn't even come painted!!! Yeah, terrible quality control. Also, I did experience some problems with splintering as I carefully examined each piece. Out of all of the blocks in one wagon, I can honestly say that on average only 2 to 4 were in perfect condition. . . that's pretty bad considering that I have ordered 12! You're almost better off going to Home Depot and buying some wood and paint to make them yourself; I'm sure those will last longer. Unfortunately, I can't even rate this product for fun - since my god son and his friends never even got a chance to play with the toy. . .

Totally unsatisfied with the quality
I never wrote a review of a product that I bought via Amazon before, but I just had to write in about this one.

I remember these wooden blocks from when I was a young girl, and loved them. When I saw them at Amazon I bought them for my 15 month old grandson.

When we opened the package and took the blocks out, there were two major problems.

1. I got a splinter from a block.
2. One of the blocks BROKE!

These blocks are not of the same quality of the alphabet blocks of old. The toy went right into the garbage.

Entertaining, but poor quality
My son got this wagon on his first birthday. As he's teething, he bites the blocks and the paint peels away and I'm always finding pieces around his lips, I really hope it's not toxic!! Also, the quality of the wood is poor and some pieces were chipped. The cord came out and it's way too short for the kid to pull it anyway. It's easy for us or for him to stamp on the wagon and fall, but it hasn't happened so far, fortunately. Apart from biting the blocks, my son still doesn't do much with them, being so young, but he loves to put other toys on the wagon and "take them for a walk", it really amuses him. It's a shame it's so poorly made.

Love them!
We got these for my daughter when she was about 9 months old. She absolutely loves them. She is now a year old and already knows some of her letters and can stack things 4 and 5 high because of these blocks. It was the best ten bucks we ever spent! ... Read more

These toys grow with you
My 9 month old daughter has been playing with these for months. She loves all the different varieties of these blocks (as do my husband and I). She loves to knock them down after I have stacked them, shake them, palm them, and suck on them. As a Kindergarten teacher I know these will last 5 more years. As your baby grows she can sort them by catergories, build with them, and play many learning games with them. We have almost all of them!!!!!!

Fabulous block!
These blocks have mesmerized our (...) son for the past several months (and his parents and friends as well!). As he grows and changes--he realizes different aspects of the blocks to play with. I think these blocks foster fine motor movements, and reinforce cause-and-effect in a fun way. Plus they are indestructable! Obviously, some of the blocks are more fun than others, but as a whole these have been amazing toys in our household.

building imagination...
My husband and I had bought these blocks for our 20 mo old son and he absolutely loves them. The blocks are very cheerful looking as well as vibrant in color which draws his attention. The great thing about these blocks are that each one is different and do different things. You can play with each block individually or stack them up, make different things out of them, or knock them down for hours of endless fun!

My daughter never played with them
My 10 month old daughter got these for Christmas a couple months ago and has picked them up a few times but shows pretty much no interest in them. For all the hype about peek a blocks I expected much more I guess. She prefers stuff that lights up or plays music, these dont.

They're probably a good toy but I don't think they should put 6m+ on them, I think they would be better for toddlers. My 3 year old neice came over and loved them. So I'll probably save them for my daughter for later.

caution with washing
I was excited to receive these blocks as my 6 month old daughter loves the size of these blocks and enjoys looking at all the different features. However, I tried to wash them before I gave them to her and 9 of the 12 filled up with soapy water and were not usable. The other 3 filled with condensation and dried out adequately. Good toy but careful with washing. ... Read more
