5-0 out of 5 stars Thunder the Brontosaurus
Dinosaurs are the coolest thing that ever happened to Imaginext. While the pirate and medieval themes are cool, this prehistoric theme takes the prize for ultra coolness. The premise here is simple enough.Predators versus non-predators.Carnivores versus herbivores.

Thunder the Brontosaurus is one of the good guys. He's one of the biggest dinosaurs, about twice the size of the triceratops, stegosaurus, and allosaurus. He has posable legs and tail. His long neck can move back and forth, and left and right.Atop his neck, his cute little head can move up and down.A trigger under his belly causes his right foreleg to stomp on the ground, accompanied by sound effects and a dinosaur roar.Thunder has plenty of charisma, displayed in a cute expression on his face.He looks like he's determined to stop those nasty predators from hurting his friends. He has a great paint job of light and dark greens, and the designs on his body add flavor.

On Thunder's back is a really nice saddle for a cave man figure to ride. The included cave man wears a sabertooth tiger skin headdress and carries a club. He's got some great posability in the arms, and his hands do a great job of grasping items.

Also included are three red raptors.Unfortunately, they're not posable like the rest of the dinosaurs are (would've been nice if they were). Each raptor has a different pose.Team them up with Slasher the Allosaurus and Razor the T-Rex, and your predators are ready to rumble with Thunder and the good dinosaurs.

Thunder, his cave-man buddy, and the raptors are durable and constructed from soft plastic.Thunder is a wonderful dinosaur action figure and a great addition to the Imaginext collection. My verdict:thumbs way up!Beware, all you nasty predators!Thunder is here to protect and defend all that is good in the land of the prehistoric. ... This purple and silver electronic lap-book looks worth the sacrifice of foregoing afternoon cartoons--and it is. The two included storybooks ("Ernie's Neighborhood" and "School Skills") fit inside the book and, thanks to microchip technology, kids can read, count, talk, and sing along with characters using a handy stylus as a pointer. They can stop the story whenever they like to figure out words, phrases and puzzles along the way. Buttons for letters, words, music, and "surprises" are within finger-distance, and so is a full reference of capital and lower-case letters. There are also 60 or more learning activities stored in the book, designed for kids between 3 and 8 years (or up to the 2nd grade). Activities range from simple (spelling, telling time, music) to more complex (problem-solving, comprehension, vocabulary). Required: four AA batteries. Diane Beall ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your money!
I got the PowerTouch Learning System for my 3 years old son. He loved that until the day that he got tired of Elm's book. I went to look for the Dora's book and other books to buy for him. The Dora's is not for sale at any store and there are just few different books avaliable in the market. I got really frustated. I wish I had gotten the Leap frog, they have a way more books which keeps the toy very interesting for the kids. Another problem is that while playing with it, my son eventually touch other parts of the book with another areas of his hand when he points a figure, which make the PowerTouch Learning System starting spelling or reading another word instead of the one that he intended, making him confused at first. Even without touching the book, a closer approach to it, is more than enough to activate. Now I like the idea of the pen in the leap frog. I would never buy this toy again!

An attention getter!
We bought this for my 2 1/2 year old son for Christmas. He loved it and still does. He really does not care about the story too much. He mostly likes the music, counting, and pointing to pictures and it tells what the picture is. Its very durable. The only problem is the cartriages are small, but we try to keep the books and cartriages in a back pack. We bought all the books but he loves Ernie's Neighborhood and Blue's Clues the most. It was definately worth it!

Fisher Price does it again
My daughters got this gift for their second birthday even though the age on it is 3-8. At 2 1/2 they are still too young for it, so I really would go with the age limit on this toy. My 2 complaints with this electronic book is the books that go in the toy come in and out ever easily with is very annoying to my toddlers. I can't imagine at 3 they would be any better with the books though. To me, it seems like the system would work better if the books clipped in a bit better. Also some of the books seem "cheap" in their text. Example: Ernie's Neighborhood plays a song, "who are the people in our neighborhood" based on what the child is pointing at. Ernie sings most of the song and then some other voice chimes in with "police man" or "mail carrier", then Ernie continues to sings. Seems to me they could of spent more $$$ on the books development as well.

What I do like about this system is the fact the girls can use their fingers and not a pen to use the books. Plus the girls really seem to like this toy. I hope FP gets some better books soon.

One of my children's favorites!
We'd considered the Leap Pad for my daughter when she was 2 1/2, but decided to go with this one. For one thing, there's no wand or pen with it; it's all done by touch, which is helpful for little ones who haven't perfected their fine motor skills yet. It's also nice, because a wand or pen can be used as a weapon against siblings or parents! I also checked the durability of the books that come with it, because in addition to my daughter we also have an 18 month old, and he would be pulling on the pages. We've never had a page rip yet; they're very strong. My favorite thing about this product, though, is the fact that it even works without a book inserted! The plastic casing itself has the alphabet on it, so you can push the letters and play even when the insert books have been temporarily misplaced.

My daughter is 3 now, and has played with this nonstop for the last 6 months, and her younger brother (18 months) adores it as well. My children aren't "gifted" or anything; I'd say they're prefectly average, and they're able to work the Power Touch very easily, yet not so easily that they get bored. I highly recommend this product!

Do not recommend
I do not recommend purchasing the Power Touch Learning System because there have been no new books developed that I can see. And, at the back of some of the books it shows a Dora Explorer Book, and an additional Clifford book that are not offered anywhere, my son and I look in every store, I have searched the web and search engines. Basically Fisher-Price is not supporting this system, so I wish I had purchased the Leap Frog system. Although the Leap Pad we had when my son was younger had some problems with the stylus not touching correctly and giving incorrect answers, at least it has plenty of books and support. My son is 4 years old, has done all the Power Touch books and doesn't use it anymore, he's become bored with all the same books, he rather play with his old Leap Pad. And in the stores, you quickly see how much more there is available for the Leap Frog, and I think the stylus is also a great learning tool for practicing holding pencils/pens. Hopefully Fisher-Price will introduce new books soon, and this problem won't be such an issue. ... Read more

Dinner's on! A cute toy for budding chefs, this make-believe kitchen lets preschoolers pretend they're cooking along with mom and dad, and features a couple of chatty appliances: Bake the Oven, Zap the Microwave, and Mixy the Blender. Pressing the red buttons on the stovetop makes them talk ("Hey, Mixy--what's shakin'?" "I am!"), while Bake the Oven's eyes and mouth move. There's also a whole spread of plastic food and utensils, including a freshly baked pie, a slice of pizza, a sauté pan, and a pair of sunny-side-up eggs. Go-Kart vs. Little 4 wheeler
I agree with the button being too hard to push (and keep pushing) and my son has had several experiences with accidentally pushing the button while trying to get in and out of the vehicle. My son also has the small four wheeler for 12-36 months and he enjoys it much more than the go-kart. The button is much easier to push and he can steer it better. He prefers the 4 wheeler and they are the same price (the 4 wheeler is actually a little cheaper I think)...GO FOR THE 4 WHEELER!!! I prefered the go-kart since it has the high seat back but my son has never had any problems without one on the four wheeler. Hope this helps! =o)

Absolutely adorable
This is so cute and my 21 month old loves it. I didn't buy it thru Toy's R Us because I didn't want to pay to ship it and the Toys R Us's near me only carries the boy one. I purchased it at Meijers instead for the same price. I put it together myself and it wasn't too hard. I was to anxious and didn't want to wait for my husband. My daughter took to it and soon after a few hours she was a pro. I have to stay with her because it only takes wide turns so I am constantly turning her around. There is no reverse or anything. One concern I have is that everytime she goes to climb in she presses the button that is on the steering wheel and the car starts to drive and a few times she has fallen or gotton her leg stuck. I am hoping since it is still new she will learn she cant press it but they dont quite get the concept that they have to stop pressing the button and I wish there was a removable cover over it. Other than that it is so cute and she follows my older daughter around as she drives her Barbie Jeep. This is a great item and what really mattes is how happy my daughter is.

Great outdoor fun!
I got this toy as an Easter gift for my daughter (who is now 17 months). She loved it the minute she sat in it. I read other reviews stating that the "go" button was hard for toddlers to push, but my little girl has no trouble. The only trouble I have is keeping up with her. I know it sounds crazy since it only goes 2 mph, but I have to help her steer. Thank goodness this is not an insight on her future driving skills! By the way, assembly for this is very easy. I did it without the help of my mechanically inclined husband in LESS than 30 minutes.

amazing
It was pretty expensive and we went over our monthly budget but when I see my daughter driving it and seeing her face smile I just love it so much! she's 18 months right now and it amazes me that she was able to drive it around, push the button even. I didnt know it goes with a girlie color, I was given the orange one but I don't mind as long as she's happy when she drives it. I can't wait to have her drive it in the park.

Love this toy!!!
We purchased this toy for our daughter who is paralyzed from the chest down. It's perfect for her to get around the back yard in. With the "gas" on the steering wheel, she can run around just like her brother's and sister's can!!!!!
The push button is easy to use. It doesn't go too fast or in reverse. It's very safe for her. She's just now two years old and big for her age, it fits her perfectly.
We will be very very sad when she outgrows it and we have to find another way for her to get around in the yard. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Toy
My daughter loves this toy. There is only one problem, the top yellow curve comes off very easily, so the balls pop out faster. Other then that the toy is great. I love it!!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars What a wonderful toy!!!
I bought this for my nephew for his first birthday. Not only did he play with this for at least an hour, his almost three year old sister also played with it. I read a comment that a mom complained about chasing down the balls. Well let me tell you, my niece & nephew loved chasing the balls, we didn't have to. I highly recommend this toy.

4-0 out of 5 stars My son loves this toy!
My son got this toy for his 1st birthday. It took him a bit to learn how to push the plunger but once he did...oh boy! He is now 17 mos and still loves to play with this. He puts his shapes in there and has even put his pinwheel by the air to make it go. My only gripe is that the balls sometimes go everywhere and he loses interest in chasing them and bringing them back. I highly recommend this toy! My son loves it!

5-0 out of 5 stars favorite toy
We bought this last christmas for our 6 mo old....he was fascinated with it then that the air would blow his hair. Over the last year he has changed the reasons he is interested but he still LOVES this toy. and our second son who is now 6 mo old loves watching it as the older one makes it go. he sings with it now and dances to the music, and tho we use ours all the time have not found it to be horrible on the batteries. Both boys like to stop the balls and catch them and move them to different places and will giggle nonstop for 45 minutes at a time playing with this toy.

WE love it I highly recommend this toy to ALL who have little ones

1-0 out of 5 stars NO EDUCATIONAL VALUE
We recieved this toy for Christmas for my then 8 month old daughter, last year. The yellow and red pieces snap together and then they snap to the main piece where the balls can be stored. I have no idea why they did this because at 8 months my daughter pulled up on it and leaned on it and it always fell apart! The balls pop out the top and make there way down while music is played which really amused my dog more then my kid. The balls wind up going all over the floor and by the time you collect them all and wrestle the dog for them it has already stopped playing. Also, if all the balls are in it, they go all over the floor, but, if only a couple balls are in it, they dont pop out the top, they just kinda hover in the whole until another ball comes around or it stops playing. My daughter liked the balls by themselves best, especially in the tub. We wound up giving this toy away because all together I saw no educational value in it and it drove my dog insane! ... The Pixter is like a personal digital assistant (PDA) for kids. But instead of storing boring appointments and phone numbers, they get to draw, do puzzles, and learn a little, too. The Pixter is about the size of a small book, and has a pretty solid weight to it. It's made out of brightly colored and durable plastic. The main action of this toy is drawing with an attached stylus. The Color Pixter offers much better graphics then the black and white version, which comes in handy with activities like Paint-by-Numbers and Connect-the-Dots. You can draw a picture free form, or you can use one of the starter backgrounds. There are tool buttons, like on a PDA, that give you access to fun stamps, special effects, and the eraser button. You can also save your creation in the Pixter's memory. There are some boppy tunes playing along with all this creative activity, but luckily for parents, there's also a jack for headphones and a volume adjuster. An expansion slot on top of the Pixter accepts ROM-based expansion cards that contain additional software and games. Requires 4 "AA" batteries. (Not included.) --Megan Sullivan ... Read more

We LOVE It !!!!
My 2 year old was given the Pixter from her aunt right before we moved out of state,We love it!Shes 2 and can find her way around websites better than most 20 year olds but I thought this might be a little harder, well I was wrong, she taught me how to use and shes 2! I recommend this for all toddlers b/c they will want to learn how to use it and when they do its worth it when they come to you with a big smile and show you what they did!!!!

The best everything toy
My son recieved this for christmas and he has not put it down since. He is 3 years old and just loves everything about it. He counts and recognizes numbers and just loves it. I highly recommend this toy for children. We haven't left the house without it since we got it.

Great Toy
I bought the Color Pixter for my 6 year old at Christmas and she loves it. I am glad I paid the extra and got color. My only complaint is the lack of additional software. I talked to Mattel/Fisher Price and was told that they sold so much of these products at Christmas they are behind in getting the stores stocked with the software (I was afraid they had quit making them). We did get one of the black & white software cartridges and it wasn't worth the time or money, I'll hold out for the color. Hard to tell how educational without additional software. As for durability, so far so good. Great entertainment!

Great toy!
I purchased the Pixter Color for my daughter. She just loves it! The color cartidges are hard to find. I was able to purchase the Dinodraw, Barbie & SpongeBob for Christmas. They are typically sold out so you have to keep checking. Fisher Price does make a carrying case for the pixter color and all of your cartidges. It is a MUST HAVE because this is an expensive toy but a wonderful one. The case keeps the pixter and the cartidges safe and clean. (I bought it [online]) My daughter brought her pixter on a long car trip and really enjoyed it. She also brings it to her brother's wrestling tournaments which can be very long and boring for a little girl. It is a great toy. I will purchase additional color cartidges when available! Enjoy!!

The favorite toy under the tree!
I bought this for my 4 year daughter for Christmas this year. She is really into coloring and drawing, so this appeared to be the perfect gift for her.

This is definitely for the 'under 8' crowd. As a matter of fact my FOUR YEAR OLD has mastered this in two days! When I say mastered, I'm referring to the ability to use Pixter unsupervised. She will ask questions here and there, but it surely didn't take long for her to figure out what each of the icons do. So I will even go further and say that I can see the 4-6 age group reaping the most benefits from this without getting bored.

There was mention in a previous review about no "undo" feature....it DOES have this feature, but you may only undo once. Still, it has the feature so you may 'erase' what you just did without erasing the entire picture.

For each of my nieces I purchased the Pixter 2.0 for Christmas, the black and white Pixter. I must say that I'm glad I spent the extra money and purchased the color version for my daughter. The pixels appear to be greater which makes the quality of the pictures so much better. The color choices when coloring is probably the best feature. My daughter likes the built in coloring-by-number feature the best. She also love the ability to use all the built in stamps to add to her pictures. To me it's like a elementary computer Paint program....

Now...educational? Not necessarily, but it has potential depending on the cartridges you buy. For example, I purchased the Barbie Color, the Spongebob Color, and on clearance I bought a b&w "learning fun" cartridge. The Barbie and Spongebob are games, plain and simple. My daughter enjoys them, especially the Barbie one, but aside from a matching game I don't see these as educational. The 'learning fun' cartridge lets your child practice writing upper and lower case letters and numbers. There is more to this cartridge, but we haven't delved into the entire cartridge yet as it IS in black and white and doesn't hold my daughter's interest as well. Based on this cartridge I WILL be buying the new COLOR Smart Start cartridge, which appears to be an updated version of this b&w one.

I realize that since this product is fairly new that the accessories are probably still in the works, but I would love to see a carrying case for the Color Pixter. I am hesitant to allow my daughter to carry this around outside of the house for fear of dropping it. At $80 it's a chance I don't want to take. I also would love to see a bigger selection in software....dinosaurs and Rescue Heroes holds no appeal to my daughter and that leaves a VERY limited selection for girls in my opinion.

All in all, if your child is a budding artist this is a great tool for them and it will hold their attention. I have to be honest in saying that my daughter's number one request for Christmas was "go go my walking pup" and didn't even know what Pixter was......Go-Go is sitting still under the tree all alone and Pixter Color is the favorite. It's the toy she picked to take to her cousin's house...(she gets to pick ONE toy to take)

I'm glad I purchased this and I would do it again...... ... Read more

Great toy for the money!
This Geotrax add-on is great. At first I thought we would be going through batteries like I owned a battery store but it turns out the batteries last a long time and it has an auto shut down switch if you child walks away from the train. We were considering the wooden trains but for the price this set was a better deal. This set actually made noises and had track switch options. We continue to buy add-ons. Fun for girls too!
My twin girls received this fire truck as a gift for Christmas when they were 13 mo. old. They got the biggest kick out of it! They loved the fact that they could make it talk and move and put the people in and out. Now that they are 16 mo. old, they have more imagination and can use it together with some of the other little people sets (such as the fire station). The sounds are good quality, it moves on carpet, and is a wonderful first fire truck. Great product!

COOL TOY
My 12 month old loves this truck. It was easy for him to move around. It is also tough enough to withstand the abuse a little boy gives his toys. BUY THIS TOY!!

Great first fire engine!
My 21 month old son likes this fire truck much better than the retired one that fisher price had out. It is easy for him to work. My 3 and 5 year olds even play with it sometimes. If your little one loves trucks this would be a great first fire engine. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Interactive Toy for Toddlers!
I love the Learn Through Music! You can adjust the volume on the back (where the on/off switch is located). There are two volume levels. My son is 22 months old, and he received this gift last Christmas. He loves the Sesame Street characters, and he will "rediscover" it every couple of days and sit and play with it by himself. However, I have had a hard time finding the Elmo Counting Cartridge. If you invest the money in buying this product, you should buy additional cartridges so they don't get bored with the one that comes with it. Hope this helps!

2-0 out of 5 stars Great toy but TOO loud
This is a favorite toy among my children ages 2-6. I thought it would be a great toy to bring in the car so they could play with it while waiting. BAD idea, it is so loud, I can barely hear anything else. Otherwise, it's very durable (we have 7 children), it's lasted through being dropped, stepped on, fought over, etc. I put a pc of tape over the speaker, which has helped a little, but now the younger one can't play with it (she eats the tape).

2-0 out of 5 stars a little loud and good for two and up
My daughter rec'd this toy when she was just over one years old. she has issues with using the mic, you must hold the button down to make the mic work. i also wished that the volume was able to be adjusted.

1-0 out of 5 stars Pages don't correspond w/the Songs
I'm just glad we didn't have to spend our money on this toy. The Sesame Street version was given to my 2yr old as a gift. The pages don't advance like they are suppose to. She is trying to learn the alphabet starting w/A and it's on Y. Elmo pops up to sing at all the wrong places. The music is great though and she follows along w/the singing of the alaphabet and sings right into the microphone but as far as the page being in the right place when talking about the letter its not. Main problem is the songs don't correspond w/what the page is showing. I've replaced the batteries twice thinking that was the problem but it turns out it's not.

1-0 out of 5 stars lots of fun
My son doesnt spend more than 2 minutes on each toy, except on
this one. He loves this toy. We bought him all the cartridges,
and we rotate them. He doesnt use the microphone.. but everything works great and has endured lots of hits.
I would recommend this to everyone (from 18 months- 3 years) ... Read more

Designed to encourage early role play, this small, colorful playground is centered on a giant tic-tac-toe board, with rolling x's and o's, that sits atop a yellow, open-air sandbox. Michael can climb the ladder to the upper platform while Sarah Lynn goes down the red slide and giggles. Great Toy.
Our daughter loves all her Little People toys. They are durable and easy to clean. They are great fun for her & all are wonderful.

Lots of fun!
My daughter received this toy for her second birthday. She enjoys it thoroughly, especially the merry go round and the tic tac toe board. This toy has been known to travel along with us in the car and has kept the teddy bears company as well! Along with her other Little People toys, this one is definately a hit!!

I was billed $23.16 for a $14.99 toy. When I questioned via the web site e-mail as to why the item was not shipped per poundage at a considerably lower cost, I received no reply. Also, the tax appears to have been applied to the $6.29 shipping also. As I expect this message to be reviewed, please forward to the appropriate department's supervisor.

This set is so cute ... and my children (4, 3 and 1) love this set as it's just like the playground equipment they visit at our local park ... so they make the Little People do exactly what they like to do when they go to the park.

It's easy for my children to put the Little People in and out of the tire swing and on the little Merry Go Round. The Merry Go Round has music and you can hear laughter from another button at the top of the slide. The tic-tac-toe game also spins and makes a great noise as well (my 1 year old particularly likes that part!). The 1 year old also finds it easy to put the Little People on and off the bike.

As we have found with all our Little People sets - this set is extremely durable and easy to clean ... a perfect addition to your Little People collection.

We LOVE this!!
I was so excited to see that my 20 month old got this for Christmas from his grandmother! It is the cutest toy--It has a play structure, including a merry-go-round, slide, even the little tic-tac-toe rotating blocks like they have at a real playground. There is also a little tire swing, and it comes with a tricycle. The two people that come with it are so cute also. My son's favorite feature is the fact that when you push a button at the top of the slide, you hear children's laughter. He cracks up everytime the button is pressed.

This is such a great toy, and a wonderful addition to your Little People collection! ... Read more

Wonderful backyard fun!!!!
My son recieved this 4-wheeler from his Aunts and Uncles for his 3rd birthday. It has been the most loved present of all. He wakes up every morning wanting to go riding. He has been practicing going around all kinds of obstacles and using reverse. It is a overall wonderful toy and we Highly recomend it.

So Much Fun!!
We bought this for our 3yr. olds birthday. He absolutely LOVES it! He rides this every day. This is so much better than the littler ones because it also goes in reverse. Well worth the $$

The only downfall is that you have to recharge it at the end of the day or it won't be very powerful the next day. I highly recommend it! ... Read more

Don't buy this toy, ever!
What a cute idea this would have been if only Fisher Price would care enough about the quality to take it off the market and redo the thing. Ours never did make a bubble, not once, didn't even think about it. Now, the handle won't stay on and absolutely forget about using it in the grass. The wheels just won't go through it at all. One would think with all the complaints that Fisher would do something about it but so far, nothing has materialized. It's made very poorly, falls apart very quickly and ours didn't even last a year. If you use it in the house without trying the bubbles, it's just fine. But then again, the mowing sound will quit very quickly on you and the rest of it will follow. I really want my money back. We replaced it with a John Deere toy lawn mower and boy, what a difference! There is no comparison in the quality between these two toys. That John Deere is just so much more substantial and heavy! It goes right through the grass and makes a very, very realistic lawn mower sound. My little guy hasn't stopped using it since we brought it home. I highly recommend that one! Guess it's true for their toys too - "Nothing Runs Like a Deere."

Not as exciting as we thought...
Our 2-year old daughter loves bubbles and we thought this would be a great toy but the bubbles do not come out right away. This toy is not for use in small spaces or the bubbles don't fly, you have to walk several feet before the bubbles appear. One other down side is that it doesn't hold much bubble liquid so we are constantly refilling it. And it doesn't work well on the grass as it's pictured, you need to use it on the sidewalk or something flat. Overall, she loves it but it does have some drawbacks.

Does not work !
We just bought this for our son, what a great combination bubbles and a little mower! We put it together put the bubbles in and away he went. He pushed the mower for an hour and never got one bubble, he still loves pushing the mower, even though there were never any bubbles. That would have been a great bonus.

it would be okay IF all the parts were there!!!!!
I got the double blash mower for my daughter, she has mine when i was little but i wanted her to have a new one so i got this one for her.. it's a really good toy, but not everything came with it. like the bubble wands, the stickers, and one side of mower where bubbles are supoosed to come out..not a single bubble comes out.

bubble mower is awful
THIS IS THE WORSE TOY WE HAVE EVER HAD. IT DOES NOT WORK. WE GOT 3 BUBBLES OUT OF IT AND THAT WAS IT. AFTER NUMEROUS TIMES OF TRYING TO GET BUBBLES WE GAVE UP. WE SHOULD OF JUST BOUGHT A CHEAP MOWER THAT DOESN'T CLAIM TO MAKE BUBBLES. WHEN I BOUGHT THIS MY AUNT SAID "THOSE MOWERS NEVER WORKED WHEN MY KIDS WERE YOUNG". I GUESS THEY HAVEN'T CHANGED MUCH! DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY. IT REALLY FRUSTRATED MY KIDS AND WAS A DISAPPOINTMENT FOR THEM. TRY AGAIN FISHER-PRICE. ... Read more

Nice little bedroom set
The parent's room is a good value compared to some of the other loving family furniture sets. It comes with a bed, table, lamp, mirror, tree, and breakfast in bed tray that flips over to be a reading table. The bed has two pillows and a blanket so your kids can put their dolls to bed and cover them up. It's a lot of fun for little imaginations. ... Read more

Editorial Review

Elmo has certainly sold out. The fuzzy red Muppet is dressed up in a chicken suit, with only his red face and hands showing. The fuzzy suit is bright yellow with a white chest, orange feet, and a red comb on the hood. Push the button on Elmo's left foot and his high-pitched voice encourages little ones to do the Chicken Dance with him. His arms flap and his knees bounce up and down as he sings the lines, "Elmo wants to be a chicken, Elmo wants to be a duck" to the familiar, but annoying, tune. Press the button on his right foot and Elmo will cluck like a chicken and move his head. Note that these two actions are the only ones Elmo does; there is no volume control, repeatedly hitting a button will cause a "rap effect," and the body under the chicken suit is hard plastic, which hurts his huggability factor. --Pam Lauer ... Chicken Dance Elmo
I read some of the other reviews, and I disagree with alot of them. Some of these people say that the toy is loud and obnoxious, but I think that it's fun for kids. My nephew is 4 now, and he's had it since his third birthday, and he still loves it and plays with it all the time.

Deafening
I recently bought a chicken dance Elmo for my daughter, but it is too loud (and there is no way to adjust the volume). I actually really like Elmo and his songs but this is just earsplitting. Also, Elmo is not cuddly at all. His body is hard plastic with a thin "fur" covering.

I'm dissapointed in how long the toy worked!
This is one of my son's favorite toys. He also loves the Elmo piano. He received the Elmo piano in 12-02 and has played it constantly. We have only just changed the batteries in 3-04. We gave him the Chicken Dance Elmo when Toys R Us was out of Tickle Me Elmo (even though their commercial said they'd never run out, they did). Anyways, he absolutely loved Chicken Dance Elmo and unfortunately it stopped working on 3-29-04, a little over 90 days of use, that's all he got out of it. For the price I am really disappointed at how poorly it held up.

A love/hate relationship
We purchased Chicken Dance Elmo when our son was about 12 months old because he loved it in the store. For about 2 months, my son liked and and would flap his arms and try to chicken dance. We have taught my son sign language and whenever he saw Elmo anywhere, he would flap his arms like a chicken.
Then, at about 14 months, my son became terrified of this toy. I hid Elmo in my son's closet thinking this would solve the problem, but then he saw it in there and then would point to the closet and shriek while making his sign for Elmo. I put it in our closet and then made the mistake of leaving the closet door open while my son was in there. More shrieking! While not having Elmo around was a bit of a relief to us (he's a bit noisy), we thought it best to try some deprogramming. My husband took Elmo out of the closet, hugged him in front of my son, and told him that Elmo is our friend (hilarious). After several days of this, Elmo was welcomed back in the family. NOW, my son adores him, and gets very upset if he falls over (which he often does). It really is too cute to see him chicken dance. Still, Elmo is loud, not at all cuddly, and likely pretty scary for kids under 18 months. Additionally, all he does is the dance. Amusingly, while my son now loves the Chicken Dance Elmo, he is still terrified of the Limbo Elmo.

Holds up well
We got this for my step son Christmas of 2002. He was 11mos old then but we decided to get it since he adores Elmo. When he was opening gifts he unwrapped this one and had no interest in any of the others. He still loves to play with this one and hokey pokey...at the same time and combines the two dances. He holds it so it won't move all the time and it still dances. This toy has held up so well to a very curious toddler, a stuffed toy box, and 2 moves. This Elmo also has 2 buttons, one on each foot, that can play at the same time! When he's singing and dancing you can press the other foot and he will balk like a chicken and roll his head and the song doesnt reset it will breifly pause do the head roll then pick up right where it left off. All in all I recommend this toy to any one. My 7mo old daughter also gets a kick outta this toy too! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars rescue heros mission select
i just bought this toy for my friend and he love it. it is a nice toy and looks like it is made well, you have to use mission select figures though ,whitch are kind of hard to find since this is an old model toy, but i managed to locate a few whitch is enough to work with this toy and so other pieces that add on like the car and fire truck. i really like the fact that this toy will keep a child occupied for a couple of hours and tweaches them to use imagination.its a real fun toy for the child and his dad a 5 star for fisherprice and 5 stars for targets great price, and extreamly fast shipping. happy holidays.

5-0 out of 5 stars What's the fuss!! Great toy!!
I've read a lot of the reviews some negative. Parents whine about how long it took to put together, the crane, spotlight and Radar coming off. Let me point something out that explains why they did this. The reason why these parts come off easy is because kids can be rough with parts that move. Imagine if the spotlight was fixed on and a kid leaned on it or yanked it to get a figure off. It would snap right off and you wouldn't be able to get it back on. As far as the crane, well, put a figure on it and hold it with one hand and use the free hand to work the winch. Simple as that. Okay, before you say, its easy for us adults to expect this from kids, but you teach a kid how to do this and from then on they do it. My son was 3 when he got this toy and he's now 4.5 and never cries or complains about what I read these other reviewers mention.

The toy is great. Hook up your mission select figures to it and they talk about the mission. It's great. My son loves to have his characters "Talk about the mission" as he puts it. And my 1.5 year old comes and pushes the button to hear them talk. There are a lot of pieces, just take your time putting it together and play with your kids. It's a lot of fun!

5-0 out of 5 stars Disappointed in the durability of this toy.
I bought this for my nephew's 3rd birthday. He was so suprised when he saw it and he wouldn't stop playing with it. He was using the "cat condo" for the Heroe's to run their missions before he got the MACC. I know the cats are thankful for this gift. I think it's a great toy if you have a Rescue Hero fanatic in your house. However, like others have stated, the crane is not very sturdy, and that's my nephew's favorite part of the toy. Whenever he tries to use it the whole thing pops off of the top of the command center. I was having to hold it on while he played with it. Hopefully his grandpa can rig it so it works for him.

Luckily I got this on sale at Toys R Us for $29.99 so I'm not so put out by this designing flaw since grandpa will find a way to make it work. But I do feel for those who spent $69.99 on this toy. I would not recomment paying that kind of price for this type of quality.

All in all its a fun toy for the Rescue Hero's fan in your house but it does require a little aftermarket repair on your part for it to function properly.

5-0 out of 5 stars We love this toy
Bought this for our son for his 5th birthday. He loves it. It did take an hour or so to put together. But we did it the night before. We also bought the Mission Firetruck to go with it. Yes you do have to by the Mission Rescue Heroes so it will talk, but it was well worth it. Our eight year old daughter plays with him, she likes it also. We also have a one year old daughter and it is nice to have out, because the pieces are not to small for her. All in all we are pleased with the toy and would recommend it to others.

5-0 out of 5 stars This is awful
As a parent of a 4 yr old, I must say this is his and my least liked toy. It was a gift from his grandparents, so I didn't pay for it, but I personally would not buy it for even less than $5. It took forever to set up, is awkward to play with and the 'missions' are jumbled and uninspired. I wish I had kept the box, I would have returned it. ... Read more
