Bubble Bust!
This toy was wonderful (since I hate to blow bubbles manually for my 2 year old!), but it just stopped working after only 5 or 6 uses. As the other reviewers mentioned, it must rust out very quickly and the machine just ceases to work. I reluctantly threw it away. If you do purchase this, you will have to perform a lot of maintenance. Empty it completely after each use and do not let your toddler ever grab at it, as this is what causes the bubble solution to get into the battery compartment. Also, it's quite frustrating that the bubble solution can be found in just about any store (Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Toys R Us), yet I still am unable to find a store that carries a replacement bubble machine!!!

I'd have to agree with the other reviews
I got this for my son just last week. HE LOVED IT, for 3 days, then the battery compartment rusted and now, it doesn't work. I don't know who's more heartbroken, him or me...
I totally agree with the previous review, save your money until it is better made.

A great party addition!
I picked up this bubble machine for my nephews 2nd birthday and it was a huge hit. All the moms had to know where I got it and were going to go to the store the next day to get one. The kids absolutely love it. I brought it home for my grandchildren to play with and their mom wants one for their house.
It's even a hit with big kids (i.e., adults!) I had a party and we put it out on the patio and no one wanted to come back inside to play our game.

save your money!
My son got this for his birthday and loved it! Unfortunately after using it a few times the battery compartment rusted and the machine was no longer usuable. Save your money until it is redesigned!

Don't buy this toy, ever!
What a cute idea this would have been if only Fisher Price would care enough about the quality to take it off the market and redo the thing. Ours never did make a bubble, not once, didn't even think about it. Now, the handle won't stay on and absolutely forget about using it in the grass. The wheels just won't go through it at all. One would think with all the complaints that Fisher would do something about it but so far, nothing has materialized. It's made very poorly, falls apart very quickly and ours didn't even last a year. If you use it in the house without trying the bubbles, it's just fine. But then again, the mowing sound will quit very quickly on you and the rest of it will follow. I really want my money back. We replaced it with a John Deere toy lawn mower and boy, what a difference! There is no comparison in the quality between these two toys. That John Deere is just so much more substantial and heavy! It goes right through the grass and makes a very, very realistic lawn mower sound. My little guy hasn't stopped using it since we brought it home. I highly recommend that one! Guess it's true for their toys too - "Nothing Runs Like a Deere."

Not as exciting as we thought...
Our 2-year old daughter loves bubbles and we thought this would be a great toy but the bubbles do not come out right away. This toy is not for use in small spaces or the bubbles don't fly, you have to walk several feet before the bubbles appear. One other down side is that it doesn't hold much bubble liquid so we are constantly refilling it. And it doesn't work well on the grass as it's pictured, you need to use it on the sidewalk or something flat. Overall, she loves it but it does have some drawbacks.

Does not work !
We just bought this for our son, what a great combination bubbles and a little mower! We put it together put the bubbles in and away he went. He pushed the mower for an hour and never got one bubble, he still loves pushing the mower, even though there were never any bubbles. That would have been a great bonus.

it would be okay IF all the parts were there!!!!!
I got the double blash mower for my daughter, she has mine when i was little but i wanted her to have a new one so i got this one for her.. it's a really good toy, but not everything came with it. like the bubble wands, the stickers,and one side of mower where bubbles are supoosed to come out..not a single bubble comes out.

THIS IS THE WORSE TOY WE HAVE EVER HAD. IT DOES NOT WORK. WE GOT 3 BUBBLES OUT OF IT AND THAT WAS IT. AFTER NUMEROUS TIMES OF TRYING TO GET BUBBLES WE GAVE UP. Liked it a lot
I think these bubbles are great fun, as an outside toy only. The drip top could have lasted longer - it fell into the jar pretty quickly, and then the bubbles dripped all over me. Still, a lot of fun, especially for the money.

Hunter's favorite thing!
Our Westie, Hunter, loves to catch bubbles. These bubbles stick around a while so he can keep catching them. This should be a dog or cat toy too!

My sister's response to the bubbles sent as a birthday gift (her children are 3, 7, 9 and 12): "They loved them. The bubbles do harden after being blown and can be caught carefully with an open hand or on a flat surface. If you use 2 fingers or squeeze them just the slightest bit, they get squashed right away, and they weren't able to stack them. But they were great fun anyway, much better than regular bubble soap."

A Disappointment
I must have received a defective batch - the bubbles were just ordinary soap bubbles. They didn't last any longer than any other bubbles. Also, the bubble wand in one of them came apart before I even had a chance to use it. All of the other reviews are so positive that I can only conclude that I got a dud!

very cool bubbles
I picked these up for my niece & nephew, but curiosity got the better of me and I opened a package. One blow on the wand and you get dozens of shiny little bubbles. A few pop right away but most dried up as they floated down and clung to the floor, table, couch etc. My two cats were fascinated, especially when the bubbles on the floor started rolling around. When you pop the bubbles, they actually make a little popping noise, and the residue is very easy to get off your fingers, floor, clothes & furniture. Probably better to use them outside, though! ... Fun NOT! if the parent has to use it...
and you will because the younger kids will have no patience for this toy. The machine has to be primed and when the seal breaks (about every time) you have to start over and prime the device again. Plus my plastic hoses where knife sliced when I opened the box and had to use electrical tape to fix the hoses. Tell a 4 year old their new toy is broken, Great fun. I'd return it in a second if I would have had a receipt. The best toy this company make is the straight bubble wand in the bottle manual use only - almost everything else is junk. My friends have other products. We been comparing,

could not make it work!!
I bought this toy for my son who LOVES bubbles.I put it together and can not make it work.I checked it several times and the solution will not go all the way up.I gave it to my brother-in-law to check out and he could not make it work either.I can say that the Gazillion bubble solution is the best I have ever used.

This bubble maker is pretty good!Makes large bubbles that never cease to amaze kids.Of course, it's a little messy (especially when there's no breeze, the kids run with it) but that's all part of the fun!

biggest bubbles ever !
My kids love this gun, it blows the biggest bubbles Ive ever seen, and lots of them.We took this to the park and every kid there loved catching bubbles, even the older ones..I mean like 12/13 years old.Its easy for me to use, sometimes the wind wasnt strong enough so I just blew them out myself, no problem.The only negatives I have is that the gun is too big for a small child like a 3 year old.My daughter cant push the trigger hard enough to blow on her own and she cant blow hard enough to get bubbles.My five year old can blow and push the trigger by himself but he always spills all of the bubble solution onto the ground because he forgets not to tip the gun.I found it easier to just blow the bubbles and let them catch them.If you want them to play with this independently you may be disappointed, but if youre willing to join in or have an older child to help, it really is a cool toy and very fun.I wish they had this when I was little.

Bubbles everywhere
Our kids got these as gifts. They are so much fun!!! They really go through the "bubble-juice", but the smiles are worth it-and no messy spills or bubble stuff in the mouth of our youngest (3), who puts the bubble wands right on her lips.
Our son (6), discovered that making piles of bubbles was fun, and the grown-ups noticed that the bubbles all connect in a hexagonal configuration. It's a neat mystery!

very upsetting for a little 3yr old
My 3 1/2 year old is really into bubbles. We saw this and read good reviews so thought would be great. She carried it all the way home. Knowing what it would do. We get home do everything the instructions say nothing. My husband who usally is mr. fix it. worked on it for four whole days. finally we took it back got another one. Same thing happened. Just no bubbles you can hear it trying to work, but nothing. come to find out from our neighbors they have been expericening the same problems. So good luck to those who's does work. I advise to not waste your money.

Fun, durable and reliable. My kids love it & so do I!
I bought 2 of these to take to a family picnic at a park. The park was filled with bubbles all day and kids from the ages of 2 to 20 were using it. All of the parents were thrilled to be relieved of the "blowing" duty. One even fell in the water and still works perfect. I would highly recommend these for bubbles.

Bubbles.....Bubbles.....bubbles..and more bubbles
I bought this toy for my oldest boy (now 4 almost 5, when he was 2. And he's loved it ever since. Just the other day he was asking me to buy some more bubbles & battries for it. The only time it make a mess is when the container of bubbles is almost empty, or the battries are about dead. Other then this it did really make a mess, the regular wands make more of a mes then this. I suggest to any one young or old who likes bubbels to get this, it makes a storm of bubbles.

Kids Love It!
Despite having a slightly dodgy trigger mechanism, this toy is great fun for our toddler. She loves being showered with the bubbles. And, boy, can this thing put out the bubbles! It makes a constant stream of 1"-2" diameter bubbles for the little ones to play with. Daddy might have to hack it by putting in a motor speed control to see if the size of the bubbles can be adjusted!

At first, the trigger would stick, but that seems to be happening less frequently now since the bubble fluid seems to be lubing the mechanical bits.

All in all, it's a fun, fairly mess-free way to pump out the bubbles. ... Read more

Bubbles!!
These bubbles are great I orginally got them as a refill for our bubble bucket but my Hubby and son had such a great time making big bubbles that they just play with them alone.Great bubbles and lots of them.I totally recomend the bubble solution

Best bubble solution ever!
This review is for the smaller bottle that includes the wand.I believe this product is the refill size.

I love this product!I have gone thru many different bubble solutions since we use bubbles in speech therapy for my 2 year old son.When he makes the proper sounds he gets bubbles.He squeals with delight as a gazillion bubbles fill my living room.You literally run out of breath before you run out of bubbles with one dip of solution.It's not too messy either due to the clever design of the wand which snaps right into the cap.Love it! ... A lot of fun in a mini bucket
This is really a lot of fun. We take turns using the different character wands and even make up little stories about what each character wants to do w/ their bubbles. I also incorporate counting the bubbles for educational value and chasing them and popping them for fun and light exercise. My daughter loves this. It's small and convenient. The negatives - it's small. Doesn't hold much liquid, so have refills handy. Also, the wands are very small, so you are not going to get mega bubbles or huge bubbles from this, but it is still fun. ... Read more

Neat idea, not well executed
Simply doesn't work very well. The manner in which it attempts to 'spread' the bubble liquid across the 'wand' (think a windshield wiper dipping into the liquid and the dragging it across the plastic circle each time you pull the trigger) just isn't terribly reliable. Once you get it going, it can be quite fun. Unfortunately it took us, on average, half a dozen tries each time to get it to work. We returned it and got their bubble machine instead (much simpler premise: a windmill of wand circles dips into a well of bubble liquid and then rotates to the top where the fan blows through it); much less frustration and many, many more bubbles. Definitely a better choice for us.

disappointed
This toy worked well with the bubbles provided, but wouldn't work with anything but the "gazillion bubbles" which I could not find unless you bought another bubble toy (no refills). It went throught the bubbles it came with in a matter of minutes so now I am stuck with a useless toy!! What a ripoff. I do not reccommend this bubble blower!!

If you like bubbles you will love this....
This thing is awesome.My daughter is 2 1/2 yrs and she can work it just great.She just dips it into the solution and twirls around making tons of bubbles.We purchased this and the Big Bubbler and just love both, but this one is easier for little kids than the Big Bubbler.

The only problem is that you have to be careful opening it, because if you unscrew it from the very top instead of the yellow middle piece I have found that it ends up breaking the sword off.I bought another one to replace it and am more careful with it now.

I don't know what the other reviewer was talking about having trouble making the bubbles.It is definatly an outside toy.We don't let the solution drip off though, we just dip and move it back and forth or twirl in circles.Sometimes if you get the wind to catch it just right, it works while you stand still. :)

Not that great....
I recently purchased this for my kids age 4 and 2.They love to blow bubbles so I thought it would be cool to do really big ones!Unfortunately it didn't work very well.You are suppose to slowly pull the wand out of the sword and let the excess solution drip back into the container.I did this and the solution that makes the bubbles and 'sticks' to the wand would 'pop'before I had a chance to make any bubbles.So, I just skipped this and it made some bubbles but they weren't as big and I expected--you can make the same size with a regular wand if you just blow slowly.I just don't think it's worth the $.I know there is a better product out there that I had when I was a kid it was AWESOME but I don't see it anymore. It was like a baton with a thick flat fabric that hung from it and it made HUGE bubbles.Wish I could find that one again!!

just ok
Bucket certainly does not spill but the wands are too thick - you only get a bubble or two before you have to dip the wand back in. Better to use the long skinny wand that comes in the gallon jug you can buy at Target.

Great toy! Highly recommend!
We visited my in-laws over the Memorial Day holiday and they had bought this for our kids. They had so much fun blowing bubbles. We have 3 year old twin boys and an 18 month old boy and the twins loved blowing the bubbles for the baby to chase around. They blew some really big bubbles, and even discovered how to catch them on their wands! We have bubbles here at home, but I never liked pulling them out and letting the boys play with them simply because of the mess they make. However, we are going to buy one of these for our house because it solved the mess problem!

Lots of fun for my son
Bought this bucket to help prevent our deck from being soaked in bubble liquid. So far this bucket has done the trick. My son loves carrying around his bucket of bubbles, especially to the neighbors house, where he shares the bucket with 2 other children. Note that if you do however turn the bucket over and let it sit it WILL spill liquid out (this happens when he leaves it on our back lawn, which is on an incline). Also, if you leave the bucket out in the rain, rainwater will accumulate in the container. But again, not major issues. I disagree with the other feedback stating that the wands do not blow bubbles. We have had no problem. In fact, my 3 year old son has excellent results with this set (we bought a gallon jug of bubbles from Target). I would highly recommend!

fun toy for little ones
Good toy, but not many bubbles. This looked like a good outside toy for the money. The bubble solution does seem to stay in for the most part - unless they really work at trying to spill it out & then only a little comes out. But I have yet to see many bubbles be blown - I've tried & my 12 yr old has tried & we could only get wimpy few to fly. He quickly became uninterested when he couldn't impress his younger siblings. We have also tried different bubble solutions. No worries to my 22 month old she thinks its great to carry around & likes putting the wands in & out. I'd say it is very durable, educational (learning coordination inserting the wands - for the little ones)And is entertaining to the little ones as well. No regrets - we like this toy, but would be better if we could really blow some bubbles! :) ... Read more

Read before you buy!
Interesting idea, but must not have been tested by an average or above average child. None of our family has been able to work the toy. Tried different type of bubble soap, but still did not work. I was worried about being able to find replacement smoke, but now, just need a replacement birthday gift.

Cool.. but not really worth it
When you can get the bubbles working it's fascinating. It's not battery powered so you have to push the trigger several times to get the "motor" going. Then you have to quickly dunk it in the bubbles and push the trigger more. Generally I don't have a problem getting multiple bubbles at once, but your finger gets tired from the trigger! The bubbles are easier to see when they're filled with the vapor.. you can watch them float easier, and when they pop the vapor drifts upwards. They do fall quickly though, so I stood on my deck and sent the bubbles down to my daughter. The vapor liquid goes quick... I came on here hoping to find refills, but I may end up getting another blower instead. This is a really cool idea.... they just have to work on the design.. so I'd say try another brand.

Donate your money instead!
Simply put, it does not work.If you are lucky enough to get a bubble out of it, it is too heavy to float.The bubble goes straight down to the ground and usually pops as it is falling off the bubbler.This company should be sued for false advertising -- big time.The Magic Smokey Bubbler deserves ZERO stars.

(Psssst!The Gazillion Bubblator is much better and easier to make bubbles -- large, floating bubbles!)

waste of money
This was a total waste of money! We bought one for our son and he wanted to give this as a birthday gift to a friend . Thank goodness we tested it before we gave the gift! It doesnt work at all. We couldn't get it to blow a single bubble, it just made a huge soapy mess and blew a lot of smoke. How dissapointing for a 7 year old to see an advertisement on tv showing what he thought would be an awesome, fun toy: only to be totally dissapointed!!!
Needless to say, we returned both and opted for something else.

Terrible product
If I could give it no stars, I would.I purchased this for my 5 year old daughter, and I was unable to make it blow more than one bubble.I even tried a much better bubble solution and it still did nothing but blow trickles of smoke and no bubbles.My daughter was VERY disappointed and I am very annoyed.Please don't waste your money and get your child's hopes up. ... Gramma is great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My son loves bubbles & always bugs my mother to blow them for him when she's with him so she finally broke down & bought this gun. She & my son love it; instead of sitting with the wand and blowing the bubbles and slopping the solution everywhere she just "shoots" them around, and my son chases them and giggles. Great buy!!! Sometimes it takes a couple shots to get the bubbles going, but once you do they come out at a nice steady pace. I only gave it 4 stars for durability, because she just recently purchased it.

JUST DON'T WORK
