very noisy
It was fun (non-stop fun!) for the first couple of days. After that my kids never played much with it. And that couple of days was a hell for us, so loud and noisy this toy is. Not very sturdy either - now it goes backwards just fine, but can't go forward, even with fresh batteries.

too much fun
my two year received this as a very early Christmas gift from his nanny. he absolutely loves it. he caught on very quickly how to operate the truck and move pea gravel. too much fun. wish they had hid the on/off switch. the bottom is the first place he looks on all of his toys to make them "go go"

Lame
This looked durable but proved to be quite lame for my 2 1/2 year-old. It's rickety and there is no automatic power off. The batteries last only a few hours if left on. This truck also does not work well manually, it clicks and has no fluid movement- quite a disappointment. I bought the traditional Tonka the next week and we use this one to store other toys. The hand-push truck is a much more fun and imaginative toy.

Tonka Dump Truck
I have this dump truck at my house for the grandkids. Every child that sees it has to play with it. It entertains for hours!

Better than the other Funrise Tonkas
After returning three defective Tonka Hands On Power Shovels, (aka crane,) we decided to try a different piece of machinery and brought home the dump truck. So far the dump truck is doing fine. It is not as exciting as the crane or digger, but it does work and seems to be holding up. My son loves to turn it on & have it "follow" him around the room. However the motor strains, and the truck moves very slowly, so I'm concerned that the load is too much for the motor. He likes the loading action of the front end shovel into the dump bed, and the dumping bed. He was disappointed that it doesn't steer like the crane did, but only goes either forward or reverse. But a working toy is better than an non-working toy, and I'm hopeful this one will be a keeper. ... Read more

Great toy............
My sons, ages 3 and 5, have the dozer and the dump truck, as well as the older "toolo" Legos which are basically the same thing. My kids have been playing with the "toolo" version for a couple years now so I was excited to see these new ones to add to their collection. They have no problem with them staying together. You just tighten them with the screwdriver that's included. In fact, the kids put them together themselves. They like to mix the pieces to create their own vehicles, and they take them outside to play in the sand. And with it being Lego, they tolerate the dirt and water without rusting or discoloring. The kids wash them in the sink and they are good as new. This is one toy they come back to again and again.

it doesn't work
OK, got this for my 3 yr old. I know it's a learning toy and he's supposed to work at putting it together... however, looking at the parts and looking at the box, it was clear it wouldn't work. The pictures on amazon.com is better, and that's how I put it together, but once you do it this way, the slightest pressure makes it fall apart.

I even looked on the lego website for more instructions. Nothing there. We're returning this tomorrow. ... Read more

Gotta have a tractor to help haul away the stuff...
My 4 grandchildren, (Boy and Girls, all 3 years old, and a 2 year old Girl) all have fun driving in the sand or dirt with these little Vehicles. I own almost all of Little Tikes Cars, Trucks, and "Diggers" and they provide hours of fun inside or out. They are safe, last forever, and clean-up like new. I have found that both boys and girls love digging and driving. It has given me much pleasure to watch them play.
The cart detaches a bit too easily, but I have never heard any complaints from the "Little" people.

Great Durable Toy
My son owns MANY Little Tikes toys. All of which I love. This toy has been used to lug sand, to carry little action figures, to run over villainous monsters...you get the picture. He loves it. And I love that Little Tikes toys take a beating for years and come through shining brightly and ready for the next child.

Kids love tractors
I have a nephew who loves tractors.He just thought this was the neatest setup.He can push the tractor around and haul stuff in the wagon.It is made by Little Tikes which is a good brand to buy.It is very durable and with my nephew he can't even destroy it.(Not saying anything negative about my nephew that is.)He plays out in the dirt and hauls dirt or now at harvest time he hauls around corn which he has picked off ears he found in his uncle's field.If tractors are a hit with your child then this is a good gift. ...
