Lots of potential but still a disappointment
Once again, a toy fails to "deliver" the promised fun and ease of use.The shower actually works, which was my main concern.I was pleasantly surprised that water did come through the nozzle.However, it is awkward for younger children and the tub is too short and the fish comes off far too easily.While the doll is well-made, it doesn't sit too well in the inflatable turtle.This is frustrating.Also, it would be nice if it had hair that could be washed,It's hard to lather a bald, plastic head.I'm keeping the toy because it's "somewhat fun" but it certainly doesn't deliver as promised or expected.

Fun Little Bath Doll
I bought this for my 3 year old daughter who loves baby dolls. Overall, she enjoys playing with the doll in the tub, washing it, and floating the doll in the little turtle float ring. But in my opinion, the shower feature on this toy is useless. You have to fill the fish toy with water, then connect it to the end of the water tube and squeeze, only to have about 2 tablespoons of water trickle out of the shower. You have to repeat this for each little trickle of water. It would be a lot better if the tube were connected to some kind of squeeze pump feature on the floaty toy (which I've seen before) which would make the shower easier to use and more fun. The doll itself is very durable. The body is filled with tiny plastic beads encased in a fabric lining, which makes for quick drying of the doll, and no mildew (which can be hard to avoid for bath toys). No water gets into the head as well which is also nice (and makes the doll float), so it is definitely well constructed, and seems as if it will be long lasting. my dauhgters first Barbie
my daughter is 13 and she is finally old enough to palay barbie. this doll is a bit slutty but she doesnt seem to mind. plus thisis whats in these days with little girls ages 10-16 anyways so i think thats what makes the deal. i think that this doll is a good friend to her when she is alone in her room praying to god at night. my dauhgter sleeps with her and kisses her, witch i think is very cool.my daughter wants to wear make up like Barbie but i had to explain to her if she said that again i would take the dolly away and she would get a spanking. overall, a slutty girl, but intrusive and exclusive fun for a little girl.(she even said she wanted to get pull up's that have Barbie's on them; i said, no, and i made the right choise)good toys.

Sparked an interest in ballet
I was paying my little cousin a surprise visit, and I decided to get her a quick present.This was the cheapest doll on the shelf, so I bought her.And it sparked an interest in ballet in my cousin, and she is now signing up for classes.Thank you, Mattel!

Not Bad at All!
Fun - Yeah, I'd make her dance.


Educational -

Pros - She encourages young girls to do ballet, or at least make SOMETHING of life instead of become just obsessed with fashion.And since Mattel doesn't provide too many accessories with her, young girls may create their own clothes for her - develop their creativity.

Cons - Her body is totally unrealistic - ever read the tale of the girl who had plastic surgery to look like her?


Durable - Yeah; her head doesn't pop off like THAT, her hair is easy to maintain, not falling out, and she doesn't come with so many accessories that get lost.


Personally, I prefer it that her legs are pink.Then she doesn't lok so naked when you take her clothes of - she looks like she's wearing stockings.

Historically speaking, baby dolls are well known for being packed with special features and abilities. Mercifully, this simple doll is just a doll. Her mouth doesn't open or close nor do her eyes and she performs no bodily functions. This simplicity makes her perfect for younger children just learning to play act like Mommy and Daddy. She has a soft, huggable body with a soft plastic head and wears a pink body suit. There are synthetic beans in the bottom, presumably to make baby more balanced although she lacks the ability to sit up on her own (just like a real baby). My daughter loves it!
My daughter received this doll for Christmas when she was 16 months old. She also got the stroller. This has been her favorite toy since. She does everything with her baby. She feeds her the bottle and pushes her in the stroller. My daughter took the outfit off that comes with the baby but likes to put HER clothes on the doll! The doll must go everywhere with us! She is always kissing and hugging the doll and being very gentle with her so I think it's a good teaching tool for her to be a big sister because we are expecting a new baby the end of the year. I would recommend it to all parents of little girls, and the stroller too.

She's a little young for it still...
But my little girl managed to rip the head off of this doll in 5 seconds! She got this doll for her first birthday, and I was so happy because this was the baby doll I wanted for her. I was going to wait to buy it, but someone gave it to her as a gift. She would occasionally give the baby her bottle, but otherwise didn't play with this much. I figured she would grow into it. Well, I left her room for 5 seconds to get her hairbrush and came back to find that she had popped the head right off this doll! We'll have to have her fixed, but then we will be putting this doll away until our daughter is older.

Best Christmas present!
We got this doll for our 22 month old daughter for Christmas and it was a huge hit. The first thing she did was pick up the doll and feed her a bottle the way I feed her. Then she "counted" her foingers and toes! It is adorable to watch her mimic all of my actions with the doll. The doll is the perfect size and weight for a two year old to carry around and she is soft to cuddle with after a long day of exploration. I can't wait until the weather is warmer and we can take dolly for a walk in her toy stroller!

A Beautiful, Well Made Barn
My girls; 4,3,&1 years old; received this for Christmas. It's been a hit. Nothing has broken, even when being played with by 5 horse crazy girls. I purchased Schleich horses to go with it, and most (just not the biggest draft type horses) fit perfectly inside. The animals that came with it are fine, but a few of them are pretty scary with orange/red eyes. The animals I remember coming with it were horse, pig, cow, dog, and turkey. HTH

A Terrific Toy for Imaginative Fun!
I got this for my 2 year old twins. They love it. They put the animals in different compartments of the barn, open and close the doors, stalls, and the barn itself. It's a little pricey, but it really is a beautifully made toy. The animals are also very nicely detailed, very sturdy, and no small parts.

It's holding up wonderfully, with nary a scratch. We got this as a follow-up to a disappointing purchase with a plastic Noah's ark toy, whose doors were always falling off. (Okay, I'm probably spoiling my kids a bit...) At any rate, the ark is in park, but Noah's animals are welcome to come visit the barnyard.

Durable (and SAFE) Toy!!!!!
I am not sure what the previous reviewer is thinking! Of course there are no nails - This company clearly knows what they are doing! They only make safe products.... I also found the barn to very durable. My son is very rough with his toys and this barn has stood up to the test!

handle and doors broke after 1 day of rough play!
This is a great barn, lots of fun with lots of opportunity for imaginative play. That being said, I'm very disappointed in the way parts of it are put together, the handles are glued on with no screws or nails. My son is very tough on toys, but even if he wasn't, how long could you carry this around by the handles before they came off? Beautiful! Wish I was a kid again!
I give this toy the higest rating possible.

First of all, it is beautifully made. Unlike most toys today, it is not made out of cheap, breakable plastic, but out of sturdy wood. I was very pleased with how well it was made. It can be moved into different configurations, and is very cleverly made, with very attractive detailing. The horses and people that came with it are also very attractive and well made.

Secondly, it is what I call an "open ended" toy. That is, unlike many toys that become boring quickly because there is only one way to play with them, this castle naturally stimulates creative and fun play that has no end.

To me, this is the best kind of toy, one that engages your child and encourages them to make up their own stories.

And this is a toy that I can join a child in playing with, too, as we make up stories together.

This will be a toy that will last for years, and that will be a favorite for years. Wish I had had this when I was a child!

great castle!
This is a great toy! It's well made & sturdy. My 2 & 3 year olds love it, as do any other kids that visit. I can see it lasting for years to come. Well worth the price.

Wing problem
My four year old daughter wanted this and the mermaid doll. I bought both and am sorry I did. The mermaid review is on that site. This dolls wings will not flap unless it is being held at a certain angle. Within one day - one of the wing spokes that plug into the back is already broken, the fabric that hangs down is tore and there is glitter all over my daughter and the house. I do not recommend this doll for any child with an imagination as it will be a disappointment.

Great for the Imagination!
My 3 yr. old saw these on t.v. and went nuts. She really wanted the blue one, which I have not been able to find anywhere, but she settled on the purple one instead. She loves it! It really prompts her to use her imagination. She uses it to play with her other fairy tale barbies, but she also use it with other toys because it's so versatile. I mean, you can use a fairy in any scenario! Anyway, bottom line is, it's been a lot of fun for her.

weird!!! this is the strangest thing ever since bratz catz came out!!! and those are weird...

a purple barbie??? no... i would never get it. i would rather just get those creepy bratz catz!!! but hey don't get me wrong... i love bratz!!! just those cats... ugggggly!!!

little girl fun
My three year old daughter won't put these sparkle fairies down (she has purple and pink). The wings actually move and there are really no clothes to lose (only the skirt and shoes come off, the top is "sparkeled on"). They are different and you can tell your child fairy stories to go with them.

Nice doll
This is a nice doll if you like charlie McCarthy. As a working ventriloquist doll, it doesn't work very well. Good ventriloquist dolls have you stick your hand inside it. This one has a string to pull, and head keeps bobbing.

I liked the doll, but for decoration.

A BIG HIT!
I bought 3 of these for my grandkids for Christmas. They had so much fun talking to each other. The doll comes with a booklet that explains very simply how to throw your voice. My grand daughters wanted a girl doll which are hard to find in a basic beginners doll so I made a wig and glued it on, added some eyeliner with a flair pen and made some new clothes.

I still love Charlie
I've had my C.M doll for well over 12 years..My mother gave it to me as a xmas present when I was "about" 11 years old.. I am now about to turn 25 and and have a 1 year old... Although I have lost several accesories and his jaw no longer works ( it stays open)this is clearly one of the only toys that has lasted me so long.. Even my 1 year old loves Charlie... He is very well made and would make a great gift for someone of any age( over 3).. since I no longer have his small parts (eye lens, hat, shoes) it is safe for my son... I don't plan of ever getting rid of him, as a matter of fact I was consodering getting him fixed. But it would probably be cheaper to just get a new one..Either way this is a great toy w/ years of durability and enjoyment. ... Read more

We Love Ponies!
My girls thought this was the perfect addition to their Pony collection.I agree that it is a great value for the price - 3 ponies - Lulabelle, Spring Breeze and Dainty Daisy - and enough accesories for them to have a spring picnic.

Very Impressive
My daugther recieved this for her 6th birthday and I was surprised to see how much STUFF it came with!! You get A LOT for $14.99 and the "basket" they came in was really cute! She just started getting My Little Pony stuff and I've been very impressed with everything she's recieved so far!

Great for Imagination
I purchased this for my 5 year old and it's provided hours of imaginative fun for several children ages 5 through 11. There are several electronic features which have been fun for her to discover and have encouraged even more play. Well worth the money.

my kids LOVE this toy
This is a really cute toy. My 4 year old daughter has played with it every day since she got it for Christmas. She has even gotten her brother to be interested in it with her. Definately worth buying.

friendship pony stable - lots of fun
My daughter adores horses.I would be surprised if there were many
girls with more horses/ponies than she has.She asked Santa for this as soon as she saw the Fisher Price catalogue. She loves it.
She has the whole collection and plays for hours at a time with
them. She knows all their names and has the greatest pretend parties and school days with them. Great to stimulate their imagination.

Not for everyone!
My daughter got this for her 3rd birthday. I read her the book several times, and that was her favorite part of the toy. She played with it for about 15 minutes and then wasn't interested anymore. I think this toy would be great for a little girl who shows interest in ponies. Perhaps my daughter is not at the right age to act things out, but I felt that her options with this set were limited, and there was not much she could do with it.

She loves it!
I gave this toy to my little girl for her 3rd birthday. What she really wanted was the My Little Pony celebration castle but after reading the reviews on that toy, I couldn't see myself buying it. I think this was a good substitute. First of all the toy seems very durable, no flimsy pieces on this toy. There aren't a whole bunch of small parts to lose (the toy comes with just a few accessories and actually has a place to store them). My daughter plays with Comet the pony that came with the set, as well as Twinkles (an accessory pony) and also all of her other ponies including her my little ponies. The only thing I have negative to say about this set, is that Haley the little girl isn't a very good rider! I think she could have been designed a bit better so that she would stay on the horse! MORE BARBIE FUN!!
I purchased this toy as a Christmas gift for my 5-yr-old...but my 3-yr-old appreciated them so much more. Really cute to see her all dressed up with the Barbie sunglasses, and carrying a purse. It's really a riot; the keys makes noises when you push a button exactly the way a real car alarm would.
