Amazon.com Review For starters, Nintendo has quite clearly made this a game-only machine. It doesn't try to play your CD collection, run your movies, read your e-mail, or store your MP3 files. The company has concentrated its efforts on games. All the prelaunch titles we've seen play smoothly, with bright, fast graphics and great sound. Nintendo says its engineers have removed traditional bottlenecks that have, in the past, slowed down processing. New components designed by IBM and MoSys, as well as a large-capacity secondary memory cache, keep instructions moving through the system's microprocessor (MPU) at peak levels. In English: the GameCube is optimized to push speed up while pushing costs down; hence its position at the lower end of the price spectrum. The GameCube is the first Nintendo video game system to use a disc-based medium rather than cartridges for its games. Moving the software to disc media generally means lower development costs for the publishers, which, in turn, trickles down to the consumer not only in price, but also in availability and quality, as it's then easier to try out untested game ideas (Pikmin, anyone?). While most other systems likewise have their games stored on discs, the GameCube's 3-inch format is smaller than everyone else's, and is so designed to fit in a shirt pocket as much as to deter would-be software pirates. Of course, the main advantage of the GameCube is that it's the home field of one of the world's premier game designers: Nintendo. While powerhouses Electronic Arts and Sega make games for all systems (including this one), you can play Nintendo games only on a Nintendo system. And Nintendo, you might recall, has been hitting them out of the park since it started with Donkey Kong. In fact, here's a roll call of characters and series you won't find on the other consoles: Mario, Legend of Zelda, Perfect Dark, Metroid, Kirby, and, of course, Pokémon. A few names that the GameCube will share with the other guys: Madden, Tony Hawk, Sonic, Batman, and Star Wars. The system also comes with four built-in controller ports, so you can easily plug in extra controllers and let friends join in for the multiplayer games--it's even got a built-in handle so you can easily move it to a friend's house. It comes with two memory card slots for saving your progress through games, and there's the capacity for future expansion into the world of online gaming. In short, the GameCube isn't an all-in-one entertainment system, and neither is it the most powerful of the modern video game consoles. But for video game enthusiasts who want to stick with their favorite characters, its value cannot be beat. --Porter B. Hall Unit Specifications Reviews (298)
Eternal Darkness, Metroid Prime, Super Mario Sunshine, Zelda: Wind Waker, Pikmin, and Super Monkey Ball 2 are 6 games that are about fun. Oddly enough, all but SMB2 are published by Nintendo. They understand what makes games fun to play with. ED offers mature gamers a deep story (disclaimer: its not as deep if the gamer doesn't ask questions or start looking up ancient history), and Pikmin offers a refreshingly new and charming strategic puzzle adventure. And if you like those, you'll be happy to know that every one (but ED) of those games has a known sequel in the works. If you like Metal Gear Solid, then a remake is hitting the cube this fall. If you like Resident Evil, Cube is your system. If you have fun memories of mario kart, you'll be ready to buy Mario Kart: Double Dash this year, along with the fastest futuristic racer, F-Zero. If you like RPGs, Final Fantasy Chronicles, Phantasy Star Online, Skies of Arcadia, Harvest Moon, Animal Crossing, and other very good RPGs are here or coming in a few months. Clearly there are a lot of exclusives for everyone. If you just want your Madden 2004, and Red Faction II, or Timesplitters 2, and Splinter Cell, then you can get those too. Check out the rest of gamecube's library: ..
1. Super Smash Brothers Melee (AWESOME GAME!!! MUSIC ROCKS!) These are only a small amount of all the great games to get!!! GAMECUBE WILL LIVE ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thanks! Oh, one more thing! Nintendo was the first (besides atari) to come out with a gaming system! It has the most systems (besides SEGA) and lets face it: Nintendo knows games! it has the best sustems: Nintendo (NES) If you dont have a GC, I HIGHLY RECOMEND THIS GEM OF A GAME SYSTEM!!!! NINTENDO IS THE MOST SUCCEEDING GAME COMPANY IN THE WORLD!!!!!
Best Console Of The 3 From good old Nintendo GAMECUBE Games 9/10 Best Games on any Console New exclusives Like RESIDENT EVIL METROID PRIME and much more!!! Not The most games but they are really good. Graphics 8/10 to some morons who said GC graphics suck if you look Closely they are almost as good as XBOX games are dark thats why the graphics are good GC are light but still good. Controller 7/10 in my opinion they are the best comfy and are easy to use however really bad vibrations. Internet 4/10 Better internet than PS2 however Very few online games has Mario cark double dash for internet and PHANTASY STAR ONLINE. PS2 Graphics 4/10 Arent good Dreamcast graphics are almost as good as that Real Blurry and games are too dark to hide the graphics cant handle some games. Terrrible Graphics. ps2 Has good games like GTA and DDR and FIANL Fantasy Wait XBOX as GTA DDR AND FINAL FANTASY so games for ps2 are nothing. Games 5/10 biggest selection of games however Most of the games they have are terrible and are not worth buying. Even the best games like Wolfenstein and other good games look Terrible when on PS2 Controller 9/10 Best Controller out there good at everything mostly fighting games. Internet 6/10 As quite alot of internet games really laggy and bad connection Cheap Adopter pretty good XBOX Games 7/10 has great games for 13+ of course xbox games are for older people Really good games Graphics 9/10 really good graphics nuff said Controller 4/10 Big Klunky Awkward Design Has alot of buttons Internet 10/10 has a HUGE selection of internet games has XBOX live worth the cost. OVERALL GC IS BEST GET IT
With this new consideration, I quickly chose Gamecube. Look, a major reason the decision between the three systems is so hard is because they are all good, and they all have their own unique advantages (which are hard to compare against each other when making decisions). Maybe Xbox graphics are the best, maybe PS2 lets me play games from PS1, but I was able to buy a used Gamecube (80), a used copy of NBA 2003 (15), a used copy of Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 (9), and a new copy of Crazy Taxi (20) from Electronics Boutique. In the end, I paid only >> 4 << dollars more than getting a used PS2 with nothing. If you want a great system, you can pick Xbox, Playstation 2, or Gamecube. If you want a great system that you can play new games in all the time (without going broke), get the Gamecube. ... Read more

I played both a lot...and since this is a Double Dash review...I'll tell my experience there. First, the concept of two riders per kart opens up many options, and yes it does make a pretty big difference gameplay wise UNLESS you're playing by yourself. Having 2 riders per kart allows 4 players to play Grand Prix, which is a very good thing...and I think throwing items at enemies is really fun as is power sliding...which is the responsibility of the rider riding shotgun. Also, the life span of this game can last a long time, esp. with multiplayer and the tough task of unlocking the 4 extra riders and so many karts also. Another aspect of the game I really liked was the fact that each riders have their own specials (or group persay). Mario, Luigi get fireballs that only they can use, Baby Mario/Baby Luigi gets the cheapest item in the game the Chain Chomp, and so on. Finally...they improved the vs. mode. The music stays on! Plus 4 people playing does not chug the system. Very smooth and competetive. Same for Battle, although arenas are smaller. This is one of those games where the more players...the better...which is why they have the LAN connection where you can play with up to 16 players. Sweet, eh? There are some downfalls I can name though. First, the game can get frustrating in its difficulty. It almost took me a week to beat 150cc Special Cup because the computers were garbagely cheap...everytime I was in first...I'd be blown off by a blue shell, fall off a bridge, and start cursing out my Cube. Then the All Cups Tour is very time consuming also...which could be good in the fact that it expands the length of the game. I wished for a bit more tracks than 20. I mean all of them were enjoyable but they were a bit short. 30 would've been nice but it's not a big complaint. At least they cut down the length of Rainbow Road and made it REALLY REALLY challenging. Remember SNES? Yea...similar to that...ALMOST NO RAILINGS :-O. To me, it was definitely worth the preorder. It's fun in its own ways...and to those comparing it to the 64...that's a mistake. Enjoy what's given here and adjust to it. Highly Recommended.
A great new addition to this excellent series The new Karts, which hold two people, are a great new feature. Not only does this allow two players to team up together, it also allows four people to play in Grand Prix mode, something that was not available on the N64. In addition, each character has a unique weapon, which adds variety to the game. With many characters to choose from, and a large assortment of unlockable karts, levels, and characters, Mario Kart Double Dash also has a greater potential for extended game play than any of its predecessors. The graphics are stunning, and the commentary by the characters enjoyable. It is entertaining to work on various combinations of characters, and try to pick out a kart suited for them. The game is difficult, but not so difficult that you have to dedicate your life to playing it. As always, the battle mode contains unlimited possibilities in the way of kart mayhem. In short, this is an excellent game, worthwhile in every way. With this game, Nintendo continues its tradition of excellent, unique games, and provides yet one more reason why the GameCube is a great choice for a system.
Now the latest incantation is for the Gamecube. Sure, Nintendo is no longer the only major player in the video game market, but it still shines. This game still relies a lot on luck, and the power slide of yesteryears have been replaced by a useless unintuitive turn boost. The Super Nintendo version had different levels of characters, where the ultimate goal was to master the clunky but amazingly fast Bowser and Donkey Kong Jr. Now, even though there are more characters, the AI and lack of a power slide removes all motivation to switch from the lighter ones, reducing replayability. The battles are good though. I especially enjoy the bomb battles, but the lack of good levels severely limits the playability. The worst part of the AI is what I like to call the "Colorado Rockies Pitchers" syndrome, where if you get hit once, you get hit over and over again. The second you get caught in the pack, it's over. It's very common to get hit once with a red shell, then before you start again, get hit by a start, a green shell, a red shell, and hit by lightning, throwing you into last place. It sucks. With all its faults, it's still darn fun and is pretty easy to pass all the levels. Probably the best non-shooting multi-player game out there at this time. Pros: Cons:
The gameplay and variety in it are pretty good but average...Cmon they could have done better with this game! You get a choice of a few classic Nintendo characters...I.E Mario characters. The level desighn is very good. I have to give Nintendo credit for some of there actions towards this game. Good job...If you like Double Dash then Get FZero GX... Gamecubes DD is another Nintendo hit and not a miss.....Get this game..If you don't have it then what are you waiting for! Graphics...5

Amazon.co.uk Review The premise of the game is that Marios tropical holiday is ruined when hes stitched up by an evil look-alike for daubing graffiti all over the island. Rather conveniently, theres a water pump waiting for him to use, which not only washes away the mess but also doubles as a handy jet pack. The jet pack aspect means that whenever you fall off something you have the chance to immediately recover. This built-in safety net means the game can afford to be far more ambitious in its level design than ever before, with massive levels filled with trampolines, tightropes, water-powered windmills, huge coral reefs, and mountains and mountains of platforms. The whole thing looks amazing, too, with the most realistic water ever seen in a video game, and a near-infinite draw distance. On top of all this are rideable, fruit-juice-spewing Yoshis, extra water nozzles, super-hardcore platform levels where Shadow Mario nicks your jet pack, and goop-generating bosses who seem to live to make Princess Peachs laundry a nightmare. After the sweet but rather short pleasures of Luigis Mansion and Pikmin, you need have no fear that Mario Sunshine is of a similarly brief nature. There are a total of 120 shines to collect--the same number of stars as in Super Mario 64--and the game world is at least as large and far more interactive. This is without question the best game on the GameCube yet. That may be no more than you'd expect from a Mario game, but it's certainly more than most of us mere mortals deserve. --David Jenkins Reviews (475)
What else do I love... the graphics. Everything is detailed (except for Isle Delfino's inhabitants), and everything is affected by the heat... you can see objects in the distance blurred by the heat. Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING reflects in the water, from coins, to the sky, including clouds, to mountains, and Mario himself. Nothing is left out. I also love it's challenge. It's a little easy at first, but some objectives are very challenging... sometimes too challenging. Oh, and the camera isn't nearly as bad as everyone is saying it is. Trust me. What don't I love about SMS... Well, there's not too many levels... 7 or 8. But there's still 120 shines to collect. But after a while you get sick of the levels you're playing in, and when you do beat the game after getting 60 shines or so, you probably won't have the incentive to get the other 60 shines. And if you do, there's not much of a reward. I wish something could've been done about that. But other than that, SMS is a great game, and you're doing a disservice to yourself by not playing it.
Mario Sunshine is a very cute game with a sweet feel to it, but it failed to deliver innovation and top quality graphics, soundtrack, and challenging gameplay. Yes, it is initially fun to play, but it isn't anything breathtaking as Mario 64 was. First, experienced players will find this game to be very easy to pass. The gameplay is easy, and acquiring sunshines becomes repetetive and predictable. For instance, in every world there's always red coin collecting, a Shadow Mario chase, and those Secret obstacle course areas. It's evident that the developers lacked imagination because in many worlds you get to do these tasks even twice. The difficulty level is a piece of cake compared to its predecessor, Mario 64. There are a few episodes that are tricky at first, but you eventually figure the solution very quickly. Now, Mario has a new water tool to play with, but I didn't find that amusing. I could care less if he used it or not. I missed the ability to punch enemies, and transform into different things. I actually felt Mario's powers were more limited in this game. He can jump higher, but that's about it. Managing the camera angles is a constant struggle. There are areas where you are enclosed between walls, and you can't see Mario. I guess that's about the only major difficulty in this game...lol. Bad, bad, bad. Second, the quality of the worlds you explore are not very impressive. Being a game for the Gamecube console, the graphics are not something to be awed of. With the exception of water, lightning, reflection, and shadow effects, the textures displayed are ugly to look at. I truly felt I was playing a Nintendo 64 sequel to Mario 64. I really was expecting sharper graphics. Another thing that dissapoints is the redundance of the worlds. Almost every single world is the same thing altered in a different way. They're all sunny, colorful, and invaded by water. Another issue is that there are only a few worlds to explore as opposed to 15 in Mario 64. These worlds are a little big, but not as huge as everyone hyped them to be. These worlds are about the same size as those found in the Banjoo-Kazooie titles. The animation sequences are very bad, too. The cinemas don't run smoothly. The screen keeps going black in order to show the next image. I think Mario 64's introductory and final animations were way better. These are the little things that are shameful considering the game was designed for a superior system. Third, the game's soundtrack is repetetive and non catchy. You get to hear the same theme in almost all the worlds. What else can I say? Overall, it's an OK game. Many claim Sunshine to be as big as Mario 64, but I think it's only half the size as Mario 64. Yes, this game has about 120 sunshines to collect, but the game feels short due to the easy gameplay and limited worlds. If you are new to 3D Platform gaming, then you will find this game quite a big challenge to complete. But if you're an experienced gamer, you'll catch on very quickly. So, I gave this game 3 stars based on the "experienced player" view. If you are new to 3D gaming, your rating may be higher.

Cordless, Great Color, but where's the Rumble!? Your purchase will include the controller itself, a receptor, and two AA batteries. These batteries will be placed inside the controller for communication with the receptor. The battery life, however, is something I'm unsure of. The WaveBird comes with a convenient on/off switch that seems to save battery life quite well. In fact, after SEVERAL hours of gaming (and I mean SEVERAL), I am still using the same batteries that came with the controller. So far, the only two colors that seem to be available for the WaveBird are grey and platinum. I must say that platinum is rather attractive-looking and, even better, it's at no extra cost over the grey. The only problem I've had with the WaveBird (and quite frankly, the reason why I could not give it a perfect score) is the fact that it is NOT equipped with the rumble feature. This will take away from "that feel that you are in the game". What possessed Nintendo to create a wireless controller without the great feature of the rumble is beyond me. This misconception has definitely devalued the WaveBird in some ways, however, it's attractiveness and convenience of cordless gameplay surely seem to make up for it. It deserves four stars.
Must have for Gaming parents!! The WaveBird frees up our living room from cords. It is a lot safer now. Now we just have to worry about his head getting in our view, but he shouldn't be that close to the t.v. anyway. The controler is the same size and simular weight to the corded versions for the Cube. It's comfortable in my hands, and I haven't gotten "gamer's thumb" yet after three years of playing on this console. My husband epecially likes the alalog triggers for playing racing games. It works great! A word of caution: Take care of your stuff. Clean up when you are done playing and keep your controllers out of reach of your teething toddlers (or train them not to touch it.) The slobber ruins the electronics. Now I have to replace it... The price is affordable, but always comparison shop. BTW the new platinum color looks really cool! ... Read more

Amazon.com Review The first thing you'll notice about The Legend Of Zelda: The Wind Waker is that it looks completely different from any previous title in the franchise. Nintendo has opted to use cel-shading technology on Wind Waker; the result is that the game looks like a cartoon. Die-hard Zelda purists initially howled at this change, arguing that the game skews too young. I think it's fantastic. The cartoon animation style allows for better expression of the characters, and several of the animations--like Link trying to pick up an object that's too heavy--are so cute that you can't help but laugh a little. The second thing youll notice is a focus on wind. Instead of trotting around on foot, Link travels from island to island on a talking boat, but he doesn't get far without the wind blowing in right direction. Luckily, you'll learn how to change the direction of the wind early in the game, and you'll do so frequently--not only to power your boat but also to solve puzzles. Clever use of wind makes Wind Waker stand out from more conventional adventure games. The third thing youll notice is that the game is just plain fun. Puzzles are innovative and refreshing, and despite some tricky puzzles, I never felt too frustrated to keep playing. The locales you'll visit are invariably exotic and fun to explore, and the host of bizarre creatures you'll encounter (friendly and otherwise) are always a kick in the pants. Moreover, though the look is radically different, Wind Waker feels like a classic Zelda game. Veterans of the early games in the franchise will experience more than a bit of nostalgia while playing it. The Legend Of Zelda: The Wind Waker is everything you've come to expect from a Zelda game, and it's one of the best adventure games to date. This is a must-have title for any GameCube owner. --Jon "Safety Monkey" Grover Pros: Cons: Reviews (652)
It starts off decent enough, and the first three dungeons are pretty satisfying, and the cel-shaded graphics are extremely well done, even if you prefer realistic presentations. Technically, they're brilliant. After the first three dungeons, however, it becomes evident that the game was rushed. The next two go from decent to horrible (not to mention that I didn't die ONCE in the whole game, it's that easy), and after that you're sent on a fetch-quest all over the oceanic world, which by the way is FAR too large for its own good. Keep in mind that as a game, it's not terrible. But as a successor to Ocarina of Time, it just doesn't hold up for me. The dungeons aren't anywhere near as good, the overworld is too large, the game is too humorous for something like this, and there is no real sense of accomplishment: Ooh, I solved this extra puzzle that I didn't have to, what do I get!?!?!... Oh...it's...a...necklace...great. It's good, but it's not worth [the money]if you ask me.
First, the storyline: definitely not as good as the others but it has it's pros too. PROS/ I like how Tetra is really Zelda in disguise. Ganondorf makes his appearance. CONS/ Link is not really Link. The guy you control who RESEMBLES Link is actually just a boy who dresses in Link clothing and takes the legendary sword and shield. The water filled base, it's cool at first and maybe if it was smaller but most of the whole map/world is water and it gets annoying when you're trying to sail and everytime you want to go another way you have to play the song. The temples: Only a couple, somewhat of a challenge, pretty well done. I love the enemies and the fact that you have to sneak around under a barrel just so you won't get caught. Puzzling but not as hard as OoT and some of the parts in MM. The characters: The only character I really like is Tetra and Ganondorf. It would have been a lot better if you were playing as the real Link but you're not. You can pretend all you want but firstly, Link doesn't have a sister (especially a sissy one who would get captured) and secondly, Link does not show much emotion. The main reason for cel shading this game was to have the so-called Link show emotions but in my views, Link is a tough guy who doesn't like to show much emotion. See the facial gestures in Oot, MM and Super Smash Bros. Melee. In all, this is an excellent game to play, the temples and underground caves are fun to play and the items are cool and interesting. Tingle is the same weirdo as always and the "small fry" fish is cool. Okay well that's all I can write since my computer is messing up royal, anyways, this is an amazing game and I suggest you buy it especially if you enjoyed the other Zelda games. A good edition.

With the GB Player you're able to play multiplayer games using your existing GBA system. Since the GB Player includes a GBA link port all you need is a game that supports multiplayer and a GBA link cable. Once hooked up, one player can use the TV screen and the other is able to use the GBA system. I've been playing The Link to the Past: Four Swords like this since having the GB Player with my daughter and it's awesome! She plays on the TV screen and I play on the connected GBA system. For the price of one single Gamecube game you now have the chance to play more than 1,000 Game Boy games on your TV. A must buy for any Nintendo fan.
The GameBoy Player (GB Player) accesory is connected to the High Speed port below your GameCube console (GC), it has two tiny screws to tighten it to your console and avoid accidental drops. An ejector button is also provided, to allow for proper removal. A Startup disc is included and required to activate the GB Player. All features of a GameBoy Advance are included in the GameBoy Player (The Accessory Slot, the Game Pak Slot and the External Extension Connection). You can play the thousands of Game Boy, GameBoy Color, and Advance games available as with your handheld Advance console. You can also link other GB Advance units to the GB Player for multiplayer games using the External Extension Connector available, and you can normally use the e-Reader accesory as well. When you turn on the GameCube with the GB Player and a cartridge game inserted on the GB Player (not the GB Advance), you'll see the game's startup screen as you will normally do with your GB Advance console, this time the display is transferred to the larger TV screen and surrounded by a graphical frame. The games simply look wonderful, sharp and colorful. All the details that you simply miss in the limited GB Advance display screen are shown here on the big TV screen. I was expecting blocky, low-resolution graphics, but I was really surprised at the sharpness these Advance games have, even on larger screens. You can play with a GameCube controller or use the GB Advance as a controller (provided that you have a GC/GB Advance cable). The Z button on the GC controller opens up the GB Player special options. This was a great addition to my gaming "kingdom", I definitely recommend it.
Perhaps you are old enough to remember the Super Game Boy for the Super NES (I still have these). This product does the same thing only better. It plays nearly all Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Game Boy Advance titles.* It supports the e-Reader and has a link cable port. You can use a GameCube controller or a actual GBA plugged into a GameCube controller port. Using the Game Boy Player is a snap. Insert the boot disk and a game cartridge. Power up the GameCube and you can start playing right away. Tap the Z button and you can change a few options such as the border color and how you want the L+R shoulder buttons mapped. Just like a GBA, the left and right shoulder buttons stretch the screen when playing non-Advance titles. It couldn't be easier. It's not perfect though. It's only available in black. I bought a black GameCube to match. I can imagine people with a colored cube may not appreciate the change in esthetics. I wonder if there are plans to ship more colors. Having a boot disc is a drag. Why couldn't the software be put on a memory card or loaded from the player hardware itself? I suppose digging out a disc isn't that big of a deal, but they decided to put the disc in a unique sized container so it's hard to find on the shelf with my other games. Why? Why? Why? I plan on buying a regular sized GameCube disc container for it but I feel this should have been included. I'm giving the Game Boy Player for GameCube four stars. Could have been five is it wasn't for the poor packaging and presentation. *The manual claims a few titles won't play and mentions cartridges with tilt detectors and other special hardware.

1.Hydra part X:Go to city trial mode and set the time to 7 minutes, as you will need some time to do this. When in the city, destroy each and every grey structure near that thing with all those layers and boosts up. Best star to use would be bulk star for this task. Difficulty:***/***** 2.Hydra part Y: You must (in total) defeat opponents 150 times in any destruction derby game. It is cumulative, so just play destruction derby alot, and if you have a friend have him use compact star and you should use shadow star. make sure he constantly charges boost in place so that way you can hit him. 3.Hydra part Z:Defeat 1500 enimies in kirby melee. its cumulative, like the top one. Not too tough. Just get a few friends and whoop out the shadow star. difficulty **/***** Well there ya have it! get all 3 and you can use hydra in free run mode in city trial! *note* you can get these parts in any order.
Kirby is back!
