Too bad Neurosmith is out of business
The Musini is a great toy, but buyers should be aware that Neurosmith has closed it's business. The Magic Wand accessory that came with my Musini doesn't seem to work. I tried their website for support, but it seems to be permanently down, so I called the company phone number in Long Beach, CA for support, and you get a message that they've closed.

Bought it twice -- never worked
Great concept that never delivered on it's promise. We purchased it twice and it never worked...a lot of time wasted. The idea sounds good but they need to work on the result!

My child loves this toy!
I bought this for my 2 1/2 year old and she absolutely
loves it! She didn't understand what to do at first so
I had to show her some of my dancing skills : ) She
got it right away and she can't stop dancing! Great
toy for any age!

Finally got it to work!
I bought this toy for my 4.5 year old son for Christmas because he loves music and motion--seemed ideal. I was extremely disappointed in how low it is--my son is hard of hearing and could not hear it at all unless he held it up to his head. He quit playing with it. Then this weekend, we cleaned out toys and ran across it. I was going to put it in the giveaway bag, but thought I would look into the product first. Once I discovered the volume switch inside the battery compartment (actually through these reviews, which I checked first to find out of other people liked it!), we were set! We have been having fun with it ever since. What a relief to know I didn't waste my money and my kids have a toy they love! And I never thought I'd want a toy to be louder!

This is more fun than it seems at first
Thank goodness for the other reviewers here who told me about the "hidden" volume adjustment in the battery compartment and how to set sensitivity.. start high and work lower....

Once the volume is up and the sensitivity is right this becomes a very fun toy. I suspect Mom will get some extra exercise too.

And we were within two minutes of sending this thing back when I decided to read the reviews. After all, at the lower volume there was no kick to the thing. It seemed like such a waste, how COULD the toy win platinum . Now we agree. We love this toy. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars My son loves this toy!
My son received this toy for his 3rd birthday and he loves it! He carried it around with him all day and even brought it to bed with him that night. The songs are great but I do wish they sang the words to the popular kids songs. Although I don't find it especially educational, it's a great toy for a child who loves to listen and sing along to music.

Great fun for the next American Idol
Great fun for the little entertainer. I would recommend removing the microphone (long cord) if your child is under 3 years old.

It's ok
I thought this would be a cool toy but my kids don't seem to think so. It has been sitting in the toy room ever since we got it and very rarely is it touched. We don't even recognize most of the song on there. NOT a must have

We really like it.
My son is nowhere near the recommended age for this toy, but at 15 months he loves it anyway. I got it because it was on sale and set it on his toy shelf. He points to it and demands me to bring it to him. I take off the mic because the cord is a choking hazard. Other than that, the toy seems safe for him to play with. He loves pushing the buttons. He also likes watching the lights. I personally think this toy is more appropriate for a toddler than a four-year-old because I imagine a four-year-old would have moved on to toys like Leapster.

My gripe is that there are no lyrics to the songs that are played. They are very simple songs, like Pop Goes The Weasel, but I find myself going "All the cobbler's bench. A hum huma humahummm." because I can't quite remember the words. Also some of the songs are Leapfrog songs, for example "Upper case letter are big and tall" or something like that.

Basically, though the songs are cute. One that is in my head right now goes "Manny manny moo. Moo moo. Zanny zanny zoo. Zoo zoo." Simple, cute song.

3 year old loves it
Picked this up for my son's 3rd birthday. He has it in bed with him right now. Hasn't even needed the microphone for it yet (didn't want to worry about him strangling himself with cord in bed at this point). There are enough songs that he has only scratched the surface. He likes the animations (little red dots of light). Reinforces counting and the alphabet, introduces phonics songs. As he gets older, introducing the microphone and the singalong songs (Oh Susannah, I've been working on the railroad) will make the toy seem new again. Very happy with my choice based on the reviews ... Read more

Editorial Review

This lacquered child's guitar is a great first instrument for young enthusiasts, or kids who just want to jam with an adult. It embodies every feature professional electric guitars do; all parents need to supply are lessons. At 30 inches, it's not intimidating but inviting. Its just the right size for elementary school amateurs, but its small, smooth body (including a solid maple neck and fingerboard), real steel strings, and "vintage" coil make it sound and feel as real as a grownup's guitar. A headphone jack can be used for speakers, and the output jack next to it can be used for the amplifier.--Diane Beall ... Read more

Excellent beginner electric guitar for the younger set
If you have an aspiring guitarist who is ages: 4-8 who likes to emulate the "big boys" then get this guitar for the following reasons:

1. My 4 year old thought it "looked cool"
2. Has the amp and speaker built-in which makes it portable.
3. Is made by First Act which has proven to be reliable for my family of a 6 yr old girl and 4 yr old boy (we have had their acoustic guitar for a couple of years)

The educational value is what you make of it....right now, my son who has only had his electic guitar for a total of 2 weeks has begged me to bring it to school for sharing (I finally relented after checking it with the teacher) and has been pestering me for lessons. It's the lessons which make it educational - the guitar by itself is not educational, per se.

Have fun!

ok
the toy is just a little bit to small for kids 10 and older.if your looking into getting a guitar look for a diffrent one besides this one

COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
This is so cool. The best part is that you do not need a Amp because it comes with it.Kids can learn how to play music. It does make alot of noise (it depends how high the volume is)it is worth it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kiddy
I was expecting a REAL guitar. this is a stupid little toy for kids. it would still be fun. IF I WAS 4! jk jk. its cool for a little kid.

Disappointing
Well, the price is right for what we were looking for: a simple interactive keyboard coupled with light-weight training software. However, as is so depressingly often the case with kid-oriented software, the usability of the system leaves a LOT to be desired.

First, if your child can't read and you're not prepared to help them through all the little "games" included, forget it - "Help" instructions are for the most part print-only. The included games have somewhat complicated mechanics, but there's not much of a point to any of them. Also - and this seems quite odd - the games aren't all centered on using the keyboard!

In fact the lack of "purity" in the software with respect to the little piano keyboard is probably the biggest flaw. The mouse is really required to actually get through the user interface, and that's a logistical issue for me (where do I put it, once I've used up the desk with the keyboard?).

The "Lesson" section is extremely basic, and again requires the mouse for quite a bit of it (!!).

The software is annoying in its responsiveness, often insisting on completing a little cut scene before allowing any interaction. ... Read more

AWESOME
WHAT A GREAT PRODUCT AND PRICE, WE ALL HAD HOURS OF FUN ON XMAS AND CANNOT WAIT UNTIL NEW YEARS WHEN WE ARE TOGETHER FOR MORE, MY DAUGHTER HAS ONLY HAD FOR 4 DAYS, BUT EVERYTHING SEEMS VERY DURABLE AND TO ONLY PAY 40.00 WHAT A DEAL!!!

Anyone Can Be A Star!
This is a great karaoke machine. Not only do my sons, ages 8 and 10, love this machine, the adults enjoy it as well. The sound quality is very good, and the controls are easy to understand. All in all, the product is perfect for a good time and lots of laughs! I've had two other karaoke machines, both of which I returned for one reason or another. This one is a definite keeper.

disappointed
This Karaoke was a Christmas gift for my grandson. It was a WOW
present. After just about an hour of use the microphone stopped working. I cannot find a way to replace it. Help.

Daughter and friends rockin out!
This is a good little unit for my 12 year old daughter and her friends. All controls work fine, sound quality is adequate (14 year old son wears earplugs when the girls get it going)! She is happy with it and I think its good quality, though we'ver only had it about a week.

The hit of the season
This gift was by far the favorite under our tree this year. We bought it for our 7y/o daughter who knows the words to all the songs on the radio already, but our 10y/o and 5y/o boys are enjoying it too. As well as all their friends... Unfortunately no one can carry a tune, but that doesn't stop them. ... Read more
