Editorial Review

Great for engaging young minds, this cute toy lets toddlers play with colors, sizes, and shapes while building a treehouse for Pooh. The large building blocks come in a variety of sizes and colors--blue, yellow, green, orange, purple, and red--and fit together easily. Some of the pieces are adorned with little pictures. Eeyore and a "hunny" pot keep Pooh company and sit snugly on top of the blocks. It all fits into a relatively secure storage bin. --Andy Boynton ... Read more

Pooh's House a Hit!
After my daughter got an ABC Train, also by Mega Bloks, from Grandma for her birthday, I knew that the Pooh Tree House would make a great Christmas gift. There's nothing like the hustle and bustle of a busy seaport. With the Tiny 'n' Tuff Marina set, even the youngest sailors can get their feet wet with their very own tugboat, yacht, fishing vessel, and fireboat (or whatever they want these relatively generic boats to be…). Four tough plastic boats (they really float!) can weave past two buoys, then belly up to the marina dry dock for refueling or switching out their two-part mix-and-match tops. Interlocking brick-style blocks make it all possible. This imagination-inspiring 24-piece set is compatible with other Tiny 'n' Tuff sets. --Emilie Coulter ... Read more

Get this toy!
Not only did my 1 year old love this toy when he got it, (as did his big sister) but he has been riding around the house on it for over a year and it is still in good shape! He thinks the trailer is great for sitting on and pushes himself around on it. (And he weighs 25 pounds!) The mechanism for moving itself forward automatically finally gave out recently due to his misuse, but he doesn't seem to mind. The animals are all included. (One person seems to have gotten an open package.)

A wonderful toy!
My son is nearly 2 and I bought this toy as he is really into farms & farms animals. He absolutely loved it! There has never been a toy that has captured his attention as much. He dances to the "Old MacDonald" tune, and loves the animals - he even takes them in the tub with him!

where are the animals?
The star ratings I put down don't express how much fun my 3 year old son and my one year old daughter are having with the toy. In theory it is great. One major problem though, where are the animals? Only the farmer is included and I don't know where to buy the anumals from. So there are holes where each animal is to be placed and buttons that makes an animal sound in the hole but no animals. Also, for [the money] I would think they would be included.

My son loves this toy too !!
My son receieved this as a 1st birthday gift and he loves it. IT was his favorite gift from that day onwards. He loves to push the buttons that make animal noises and copies them (oink and moo especially). He also loves when it sings "old macdonald has a farm" and the horn makes him giggle for some reason. He plays with it every single day and has done so for the last 2 months. Its the toy I grab when he's upset and it makes him smile every time !

5-0 out of 5 stars My Son LOVES this toy!
I was quite surprised to see this toy on the BRU website because my son got it for his 1st birthday from his Aunt who lives in England. This tractor is so cool. It sings Old McDonald when you press on the farmer, the lights flash and horn honks when you press on the horn and it moves forward by itself when you press the orange steam valve on top. There are buttons on the tractor so when you put the appropriate animal in it's place is makes the animal sounds.

He immediately caught on, on how to make the tractor go. He loves the animals and this is the first toy he goes to every day. If it broke, I would have to purchase a replacement. Great Toy! ... Read more

Disney Building Bucket: Cinderella's Castle
I bought this toy for my 1 year-old little girl so she could have a set of blocks of her own, different from her 5 year-old brother (although he likes to play with it too). She likes to stack the blocks and plays with Cinderella and the horse too. I like the fact that all the pieces fit inside its own storage container. Adorable!

Cinderella's Castle a Dream Toy
After my daughter got an ABC Train, also by Mega Bloks, from Grandma for her birthday, I knew that the Cinderella Castle would make a great Christmas gift. All of the blocks are sturdy and interchangeable, so my daughter builds the castle into a massive tower or anything she wants. The blocks are different sizes, shapes, and colors - no more simple squares. The set comes with Cinderella and an adorable horse. We also bought the add-on set with another Cinderella, plus Belle and Ariel. Any toy that encourages imaginative play is a hit with me!

Mega Bloks Cinderella Castle
My three (almost four) year old daughter was excited to receive this gift for Christmas. The pony and Cinderella blok were a big plus. And it has all of the favorite "girl colors" - pink, purple, lavender, yellow and Cinderella blue. That's the good part. The bloks are contained in a sturdy plastic box with a pink castle roof decorated with hearts and roses and includes a clock.

The problems with this toy - there are no instructions or diagrams included showing how to build the castle as shown on the plastic container. There is a picture to give you an idea but the pony is blocking the view. My biggest beef with this product - the castle lid does not snap onto the box so my 20 month old son dumps it at every opportunity. Consequently, I have been picking these blocks up several times a day every day since Christmas - they've been scattered behind a chair for the last couple of days because I've given up. I'm beginning to wish Uncle Bill and Aunt Cindy had chosen another gift.... ... Read more

useless
I found this toy to be pretty useless. Yes the blocks have the letters on them but you can buy wooden blocks that stack better and can build more things. the only thing the blocks were useful for was stacking one on top of the other. The train cars don't stay together well, they come apart way to easily and it frustrated my son. Also the blocks don't lock tightly either and when they'd come apart he would get frustrated again. Save your money buy a more durable train and the wooden square blocks with letters on them.

SONS FAVORITE
My best friends mom got this for our son's first birthday and he loves it (he's 13 months now). He's not too interested in it when it's conected, but all he does is pick up one car and it unsnaps. It's a very durable toy that has been dropped, thrown, chewed on and attacked by cats repeatedly. With all six cats having very sharp claws, there are still no claw marks in the plastic. This is the only toy we take with us when we're out and he's always entertained. We can take a few blocks, or put the blocks on the cars and stack the whole thing. There are holes on the bottom of all the cars so that the blocks fit into the undersides as well. This makes for great storage, just put all the blocks on the cars, stack them together and put away. The only thing that I don't like is that the alphabet isn't complete. I wanted to show my son, Jason, what his name looked like and there is no J in my set, but there are doubles of some other letters. Go figure, this may just be my set though. All in all a great buy I think.

Girls Can Choo-Choo, Too!
Grandma mailed the Mega Bloks ABC Train to my daughter for her second birthday. Both she and her older sister (3 years 9 mos) cheered when we opened the box! One engine and two railcars in bright rainbow colors make for tons of fun. I like the train because it helps them develop dexterity, sorting skills, and letter identification (both upper and lowercase). But my youngest daughters favorite activity is chugga-chugga-choo-choo! The wheels spin freely. About 1.25 inches square, the blocks interlock easily in either direction. I had to show them how the cars snap together. One design issue: the roof on the engine cabin has four pegs, but because of the curved shape the blocks do not fit snug. They keep popping off! A pull string would've been nice, but my girls are more than happy with this train as is.

Wonderful Toy!
Out of ALL of the MANY toys my 2 year old received for his birthday, this one is definitely his favorite! The multi colored blocks are helping him to idetify colors and he loves to repeat the letter as he adds the block to the train. He plays with this toy for hours! He loves to build the train and then play with the train itself. I'll be buying more for gifts! ... Read more

Great toy!
My 12 month old son got this for his birthday. He loves it. It is definately a toy that will last a long time and keep his interest for years to come. I like that it is free moving and it rolls eaisly and stays together. It is a really cool toy!

This is Too Much Fun!
Four train cars, two buildings, a sign and a crossing make for a wonderful set. The train cars roll very well and are very durable. I bought these along with the construction vehicle set (there is also a rescue vehicle set) and my kids love them.

Each of the cars has a base and a two-piece top so you can mix and match if you wish.

The large style blocks are easy for my one year old but still fun for his older sister. Great fun. I wish they had these when I was younger. ... Read more

Great learning toy
My son recieved these as a christmas gift. I loved them and thought that they were great. He was used to his own blocks though and didn't play with these much. They are a great educational toy and very fun to play with.

My son loves the blocks
I got my son the blocks and he loves them so much. He will be 1 in a few day's and he likes to try to make the animal sounds. I think that the blocks have helped him so much.

Touch & Feel are the best for a young baby
My daughter is only 9 months as of this writing and we own many of the peek-a-block sets. They haven't yet taken an interest for her as anything but another object to hold, mouth and bang together. I'm sure as she gets older stacking and etc will become more interesting, but I wanted to write this review to highlight that of all the peek-a-blocks a young baby will like the touch and feel the best, since they are the easiest to grab (they have rubber and indents in the sides, whereas the others are just slick plastic) and hold the most interest for my 9 mo (she has had them since 5 or 6 months)

a toy funatic
I happened to find these while searching the internet for toys.. My 8 month old son loves them.. stacks, shakes, and bangs them together. And they are very reasonably priced. A very good toy .. for everyone in the house..

Highly recommend
Our 11 month old rec'd 54 Fisher Price Peek-a-Blocks for Christmas. He LOVES them. He plays w/ the wagon & dump truck along w/ the blocks more than any other toy he rec'd for Christmas. We juggle them to keep him entertained when his fingernails are being clipped and he just giggles and giggles instead of trying to wiggle away from us. Great toy! ... Read more

These toys grow with you
My 9 month old daughter has been playing with these for months. She loves all the different varieties of these blocks (as do my husband and I). She loves to knock them down after I have stacked them, shake them, palm them, and suck on them. As a Kindergarten teacher I know these will last 5 more years. As your baby grows she can sort them by catergories, build with them, and play many learning games with them. We have almost all of them!!!!!!

Fabulous block!
These blocks have mesmerized our (...) son for the past several months (and his parents and friends as well!). As he grows and changes--he realizes different aspects of the blocks to play with. I think these blocks foster fine motor movements, and reinforce cause-and-effect in a fun way. Plus they are indestructable! Obviously, some of the blocks are more fun than others, but as a whole these have been amazing toys in our household.

building imagination...
My husband and I had bought these blocks for our 20 mo old son and he absolutely loves them. The blocks are very cheerful looking as well as vibrant in color which draws his attention. The great thing about these blocks are that each one is different and do different things. You can play with each block individually or stack them up, make different things out of them, or knock them down for hours of endless fun!

My daughter never played with them
My 10 month old daughter got these for Christmas a couple months ago and has picked them up a few times but shows pretty much no interest in them. For all the hype about peek a blocks I expected much more I guess. She prefers stuff that lights up or plays music, these dont.

They're probably a good toy but I don't think they should put 6m+ on them, I think they would be better for toddlers. My 3 year old neice came over and loved them. So I'll probably save them for my daughter for later.

caution with washing
I was excited to receive these blocks as my 6 month old daughter loves the size of these blocks and enjoys looking at all the different features. However, I tried to wash them before I gave them to her and 9 of the 12 filled up with soapy water and were not usable. The other 3 filled with condensation and dried out adequately. Good toy but careful with washing. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Do not buy this product!
I brought these blocks for my 15 month old niece. The picture on the website was deceptive. When the blocks arrived the paint was coming off on alot of the blocks and the toy looked really old. I guess you get what you pay for in this case I didn't really get much for my [money]

Horrible Quality!!!
I ordered 12 of these toys and the quality was just horrible! Some people complained about the paint fading fast. . . how about - some of my blocks didn't even come painted!!! Yeah, terrible quality control. Also, I did experience some problems with splintering as I carefully examined each piece. Out of all of the blocks in one wagon, I can honestly say that on average only 2 to 4 were in perfect condition. . . that's pretty bad considering that I have ordered 12! You're almost better off going to Home Depot and buying some wood and paint to make them yourself; I'm sure those will last longer. Unfortunately, I can't even rate this product for fun - since my god son and his friends never even got a chance to play with the toy. . .

Totally unsatisfied with the quality
I never wrote a review of a product that I bought via Amazon before, but I just had to write in about this one.

I remember these wooden blocks from when I was a young girl, and loved them. When I saw them at Amazon I bought them for my 15 month old grandson.

When we opened the package and took the blocks out, there were two major problems.

1. I got a splinter from a block.
2. One of the blocks BROKE!

These blocks are not of the same quality of the alphabet blocks of old. The toy went right into the garbage.

Entertaining, but poor quality
My son got this wagon on his first birthday. As he's teething, he bites the blocks and the paint peels away and I'm always finding pieces around his lips, I really hope it's not toxic!! Also, the quality of the wood is poor and some pieces were chipped. The cord came out and it's way too short for the kid to pull it anyway. It's easy for us or for him to stamp on the wagon and fall, but it hasn't happened so far, fortunately. Apart from biting the blocks, my son still doesn't do much with them, being so young, but he loves to put other toys on the wagon and "take them for a walk", it really amuses him. It's a shame it's so poorly made.

Love them!
We got these for my daughter when she was about 9 months old. She absolutely loves them. She is now a year old and already knows some of her letters and can stack things 4 and 5 high because of these blocks. It was the best ten bucks we ever spent! ... Read more

These are a favorite with all the babies in our playgroup!
My son loves these blocks. He started to enjoy watching me stack them up and knock them down at around 5 months old. Now, at 8 months old, he loves playing with them himself. Compared to other blocks I've seen, these seem easier for him to hold onto and more interesting to look at. They're just the right size and they have textured sides that make it easier for him to grip. All the babies in our playgroup (ages 5 to 11 months) loved playing with them.

5-0 out of 5 stars cute blocks
these are fun blocks. I wish that each block was a sgreat as the next but most are all great

3-0 out of 5 stars Not for infants!
These blocks say for ages 6 months. I think that's too early. We have the sound blocks for our 7 month old baby, and out of the 6 blocks in the set, he can only get sounds out of 3 of them. The other three require the ability to push a lever or turn a dial - a 6 month old can't do that. And one of the ones you push has to be pushed very forcefully to get a squeak out of it, and another has a bumpy texture on it which hurts my finger, let alone an infants. These are definitely geared towards older kids. I had been very excited about them, but I don't think I'm going to by anymore of these blocks.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not for young babies
I was excited to update my sons toys when he turned 6 months old, so I purchased these blocks. He is now 8 months old and doesn't enjoy these blocks one bit. He will look inside the block for only a second and then throws himself back demanding something else. I am going to put these toys away for a few months, and hopefully we will get our moneys worth further down the road.

5-0 out of 5 stars Such a great buy
These blocks are an excellent buy! A small baby will enjoy looking at them and the noises some make. As he or she ages, they "discover" the things inside. Then they realize they can build towers. My son is now ten months old and is really beginning to enjoy each block. I bring home a new set now and then and he KNOWS they are different from all of the other ones. It's really interesting. And they are such a reasonable price! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A Great Improvement on an old classic!
I had this classic toy w/o lights and music when I was a little girl and loved it! When I saw the "Sparkling Symphony" version before my baby was born I really wanted to get it, but held out until he was older. Now there is this new "Classical Chorus" version. This stacker is similar to the older but much more improved. It still plays 3 classical tunes and now 2 "up-beat" tunes. When the lights go off it appears that the star is singing to the music--so cute! When you push the star it makes a "Ta-Da!" noise letting the child know "you did it!". I am so glad that I held out and ended up finding this one! It was an instant hit with my little boy and it is educational too! Great job Fisher Price! I am buying this as a gift for a friends's little guy turning 1 year old this weekend. I am so excited because I know he will be thrilled when he opens it!

4-0 out of 5 stars He Likes It...
My two month old likes this toy. He enjoys the lights and the music. I don't know how entertaining it will be when he is actually big enough to play with it, but I will keep it handy for now!

5-0 out of 5 stars New Mom
My baby loves this toy! I have purchased one for everyone I know is having a baby. It keeps him entertained for quite a while before getting bored.

5-0 out of 5 stars Made my baby cry
My usually outgoing daughter, who likes toys that make sounds, heard the "da-da-da-da" chorus for the first time and immediately burst into tears. Familiarity didn't help, just the sight of it brings on a frightened look and a trembling jaw. I wish I'd gotten a plain, silent stacker.

3-0 out of 5 stars Get a regular stacker instead
This toy is amusing for my child, but I've found that the first thing she did was realize there are two buttons on the top that cause all the lights and music - she doesn't try to stack the rings, she just keeps hitting the buttons to get the music. The stacker looks pretty with the rings on, but when the rings are off, the white light is a little too bright for my taste. If you want an educational toy, get a regular non-musical stacker instead and if you want a musical toy, I'm sure there are ones on the market that do more than have just 2 buttons and play songs, but this does not encourage the child to learn how to stack the rings. ... Looks Neat But Darn The Door!
I picked this out for my daughter for her first birthday. She loves the music button and pushes it over and over and over again and does her little baby dance to it. But the door does constantly fall off! She plays w/the door more than the shapes themselves. Also, I think this toy is more appropriate word wise for a 2 year old or even older. The song is really long and what one year old knows that baked goods rise in the oven? Nice idea for a toy but a little over the top. The music itself is great though.

excellent!!!!
I understand the annoyance with the door, my son took it off the day we opened it. But who cares? It's meant to teach shapes! We already know our kids can open and close doors. I love this toy because it is a BASIC shape sorter. It says the shape as it goes through. It is GREAT!! My son loves it. Now I just have to find the door.:)

LeapFrog Sorter Croaks
My 2 year-old daughter wriggled the door off this toy the very day she got it. The shapes are colorful and are made to "pop" into a treat when dropped through the correct slot. The song it plays is repetitious, and she, now 2 and a half, still enjoys hearing it on occasion. My son, 11 months, tries to sort the shapes and drags them all over the house--they are still in good condition. (...)

If it weren't for that door!
My daughter truly enjoys playing with this toy but the door ALWAYS falls off. This used to frustrate her (and still does me)but at this point, the door is missing so she is about used to there not being one. However, when she drops the pieces into the sorter, they fall right out since there's no door to keep them in there. And besides that, this is supposed to be a pretend oven! The toy has a lot of potential but without a door I wouldn't recommend it until LeapFrog fixes the problem.
