Editorial Review

This is a happy, noisy toy that should amuse most toddlers. Everything that can be touched reacts in some way, from a trombone-playing frog to a book that sings the alphabet. Our favorite is the colored keyboard that sings each color you press. The tabletop can be placed on the floor for those still in the crawling phase, or can sit on the included legs for a sturdy surface and leaning spot for little ones who are new to walking. If there is any fault with the Learning Table, it may be that it has too many features: each element of the table reacts in two different ways, depending on whether it's in Learn Mode or Music Mode. (Modes are switched by flipping the page of the book mounted in the center of the table.) Though this means more fun stuff for kids to hear, the mode concept is not one that they can be expected to understand, and the effect of the toy's inconsistent reactions is likely to be confusion. --David Stoesz ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Well worth the money!
Bought this for my daughter at about 6 mos and she just turned one. She still plays with it! It is well worth the money. Also, it is fun to put little goodies in the open/close compartment. I put cheerios in there and she loves it!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great toy!
This is a must! This was given to my daughter before she could walk. Not only did we take the legs off so she can play with it while sitting up, but this toy helped her pull up! We love this toy! She is a toddler now and still enjoys it and I am sure when our newborn gets older she will enjoy it the same. ***We use to put surprises in the little purple compartment!

5-0 out of 5 stars Love this!!!!!
Wow!! We got this for Christmas for our 4 month old and she loved it from day 1!! She loved holding herself up and standing by it and playing with it. I thought that there didn't look like very many activities but when you turn the page in the middle it makes all the gadgets do new things. Our daughter is now 1 and still plays with it all day. My husband has even caught me playing with it and singing along a few times!! I love it too!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great For Learning to Walk
I bought this for my son when he was first starting to crawl. After I bought it he was pulling up on it and cruising/ walking around it at 7 months. He interacts with it by learning how to open the little purple lid, how to press, push, pull and how to flip the page. It is very heavy and he can push it and bang as hard as he can and it will not flip. It is also very durable, although, the purple lid can be pulled off but it is safe and it snaps back on easily. It is funny because my son cannot stand for me to reattach it because the first thing that he does is pull it back off. Highly recommended.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best table toy ever!
My kids and any other kids that come to my home LOVE this toy. It's the first thing they got to. We've had ours for about 2 years now and when ever any one I know have a baby I get this for them as their Happy six months old gift! This is a MUST have for any kid! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars AWESOME TOY!!!!
I bought this toy when my son turned one. By far has been the best toy we have bought yet!! Finally a toy that is fun, teaches, and keeps them entertained at the same time! Worth every penny.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good for learning and keeping kid occupied
My son loves this. I bought it for him when he was 9 months old and he is now 12 months and still has a blast. My nephew who is 24+ months old loves it too when he comes over. Every item has a function and there are even toys that you can buy to go with it. Like a birdhouse and a phone.

5-0 out of 5 stars The mom who only buys fisher price
I found the Toys R Us near me carried this toy so I went to get it, my 11 month old daughter really enjoys it, she likes to dance to the music, and crawl through the door, and open in and close it, over all this toy is really neat, but the problem I have with it is my light does not stay on when you turn the light swith to on, it sometimes would blink, but now it doesn't work at all, so I probably will have to return it and get a different one.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great bang for your buck! So many activities!
Wow! This is a new Fisher Price toy that I hadn't heard of before - but knew I had to have it when I saw it. My daughter loves to crawl in and out of things, so I thought this would be a great floor level toy that might keep her interest. This was purchased for her first birthday and I think we are still discovering new buttons and such! There are so many activities and interesting things on this toy that I think the price was a real bargain! The house numbers, the rain gutter, the radio, the clock, the window, the mailbox, etc, etc! There are sounds for nearly every activity, and even the sounds can be changed depending upon what setting the radio is on. My daughters current favorite place in the "house" is the mail box. She loves putting the mail in and out of it. She gets very excited and just chatters away at this toy - crawling in and out of the door and listening as it "creaks" open and then "slams" shut. The toy overall seems to focus mostly on the concept of opposites (night/day, up/down, open/close, etc) and numbers.

There are two volume settings - the lower one being just loud enough for her to hear it while she is playing (thank you Fisher Price!) and the other much louder. On the lower setting, I cannot hear it unless I am sitting at the toy with her.

I just can't say enough about all the activites - I expect that this will be a toy she can play with for a long time without getting bored of it! ... Read more

Editorial Review

Young children have a seemingly infinite capacity for exploration, investigating everything thoroughly and relentlessly as they try to learn about their world. While this Fisher-Price set is not likely to fully satisfy that curiosity, nothing ever will, it is likely to keep young kids quite busy and occupied. Eight blocks are included in the set, the clear cubes found in many modern Fisher-Price sets, and they are the key ingredients in the five interactive sides of the cube. There are options to stack the cubes up on a rack and then release them to tumble down with a turn of a lever, put them though holes to initiate perky sounds and flashing lights, and plenty of other fun games that should delight toddlers. Inside the block is room for up to 30 Fisher-Price blocks. There is some cause and effect teaching going on here but, as with all good educational toys, toddlers are not likely to think much about the learning; theyre too busy having fun. --Charlie Williams ... My son loves it, but its a little wobbly
My son just loves this toy. He is 13 months old, and he returns to it several times per day. That said, his interest is almost entirely in the piano portion, which is detachable. So far, he has no interest in the "lego-like" things. He does play with the other half (little creatures which move and make noise), and enjoys them, but not as much as the piano. Of course, he has many music toys, and comes to this more often because it is raised, and as a pre-walker, he prefers to stand.

Problem: he loves to climb, and tries to climb ONTO this table all the time. It is way to wobbly (spelling?) for that, so I'm constantly telling him not to do that. He does seem to be learning, but I still have to keep an eye on him. However, I wouldn't trade this toy for any other he has right now. Not a day has gone by that he hasn't spent 30-60 minutes at it throughout the day since it arrived. ... Read more

Teacher Review

Little ones with a knack for building and creative play will be drawn tothese lightweight and durable cardboard building blocks. A staple item in many preschools, this set can spark endless imaginative play as children buildlarge, life-size structures. Builders practice mathematical skills as they addthe number of blocks stacked on top of each other, and the various-sized blockscan facilitate a conceptual understanding of fractions. When kids aredevelopmentally ready, parents can encourage them to discover that one large redblock is the same size as two medium yellow blocks or four small blue blocks.Made from 50 percent recycled cardboard, the blocks have a smooth, water-resistant coating that's easy to clean. These blocks won a Parents' ChoiceClassic Award and a Dr. Toy Classic Award. One word of caution: Make surethere's enough storage space to hold all 40 blocks once assembled. --LaurenBernard, mother and elementary school teacher ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars YOU assemble; other factors still unknown
I found it amazing that no product listing or review mentioned an obvious question that we had when considering this purchase. YES, as you might suspect, these cardboard blocks come as individual, precut flat pieces that you must assemble yourself. Also not mentioned is the distribution of sizes. In this set of 40 total, 24 of them are the small size (blue). Even with practice, assembly takes time. Plan on an at least an hour to do all 40 of them, unless you are very nimble-fingered.

Our 2-year-old found them instantly intriguing, but quickly became frustrated by the difficulty of stacking them without knocking them over. We are not worried about that, as we expect this to be a skill-building process in dexterity, balance, large-motor coordination, and so on. But it is worth mentioning that some children, depending on age or taste, may not instantly love these blocks; and we can't say for sure that our child will either, until more time passes.

I think it also important to note that the stackability of these blocks will depend somewhat on the precision with which you fold each one during assembly. There always seem to be a couple of blocks that don't fit together quite as well as others, leaving a bit more tilt than one would like to blocks piled atop it.

However, one does get a very sturdy block when all the folding is done. The design creates "walls" of cardboard within the body of each block, making it strong enough that a small toddler can lean or even sit on one without flattening it.

We will have to wait a while to find out if our child "grows into" the specific skills required to really enjoy these blocks, or if they remain piled in a corner somewhere. The immediate reaction has not been as glorious as we were led to expect from other reviews,

And we really felt that the "assembly required" issue should have been mentioned quite clearly. Although we assumed that these came in "knock-down" form, a clerk at the local [store] (where we would have bought the blocks if they had been in stock that day) said she thought these came pre-assembled. I think that example alone proves that the information should be included in the product listing.

Questionable purchase
The idea of these blocks was brilliant. But the reality is a different story. I just purchased the "Giant Building Block 40-piece Set" for my 2-year old who loves building. The blocks were significantly smaller than I had envisioned. And 40 blocks may sound like a lot, but its not! Also, I believe that I read that they can support up to 200 lbs. My child is only 40 lbs and stepped on one and it began to give (yes, I did follow the directions and put them together correctly). (...) This product should be twice as big, double in quantity, and "durable" and then it would be perfect.

"Slightly" disappointed.

Great!! But make sure they are old enough
This blocks set is wonderful...my 22mo twins love them and have played with them on and off for quite some time. The only problem is, they received them when they were 18 mo old and my little boy still but things in his mouth. They are made of strong cardboard, but several "bites" have been taken out of them. I would recommend your children be out of the "oral" phase before purchasing these.

Best Building & Toy For all ages!
-Sometimes Basic is Best!

Team this wonderful toy up with a set of bean bags and you have loads of fun for all ages! I found these blocks when my son was 6 (he is now 13) and four children later I am now ordering two more sets because they have finally given out or been lost over the years. All my kids at every age and both my boys and my girls love these blocks! The have been used to stack and knock over with bean bags; army men, cowboys and indians, dolls, stuffed animals - you name it. We have created little windows in the blocks as targets and practiced tossing the bean bags through (Even us parents love this! While we are watching tv we toss our bean bags at various targets etc.)My girls have made Barbie castles, Care Bear houses, Dora the Explorer adventures and Blues Clues dog houses as well as baby play pens, and all sorts of creative play with whatever doll that happens to be the latest hit. This classic set of blocks takes all types of play to a 3-dimensional level.

They are sturdy for in the house and outdoors and have even survived a rainstorm or two. I highly recommend them! You will be pleased!

Classic Toy!
My brother & I had blocks like these (slightly larger)as kids. We played with them for years. This is one toy that will grow & evolve with your child's imagination. Now I have a couple of sets for my grandchildren. They love to stack them up & knock them down(they're durable enough to take it). They build towers and bridges and castles and "falling domino" lines around the dining room table. The possibilities are endless. You can amost see their imagination and hand-eye cooordination growing! ... Read more

This colorful car collection develops motor skills and hand-eye coordination while your child makes important discoveries about sorting and strategy. There are four vehicles, numbered 1 through 4, of graduatedsizes: a rattling green sports car, a blue police car with a revolving roof light, a yellow school bus with an opening sunroof, and a red fire truck with an adjustable clicking ladder. The vehicles can be rolledacross the floor, and then stacked--ever so carefully--atop each other, and finally all nested inside the fire truck. Vehicles only nest or stack completely when arranged in proper order of size and number. Made of sturdy plastic, these toys can be dipped in warm sudsy water for easy cleaning. --Kathryn Gustafson ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars A neat, fun, little set of cars.
This was one of the first presents my son recieved after his arrival. Since then, they've been off and on hits with him. It has only been in the last few months however, (from about 15 - 18 mos.), that he's really spent much time with them. He enjoys stacking them up more than nesting them together, I think because he likes to knock them down once they're stacked up. Sometimes he can get a little frustrated by them since they aren't exactly easy to stack for a toddler even. With a little guidance and help though, he enjoys playing with them most of the time.

I think that they lose some appeal for him, as they're not as realistic looking as other toy cars. My son gets a lot of enjoyment out of pointing out real cars and trucks, and other toy cars he has that are more realistic looking get more of his attention.

I think what he most enjoys about the cars themselves are that each one has a different little feature that makes noise or does some action, or both. For example, the fire engine has a ladder on top of it that ratchets up and down, making a clicking noise in the process, and this is one of my sons favorite things about this toy.

Your child's mileage may vary, of course, but overall these little cars are well designed, educational, and enjoyable toys.

5-0 out of 5 stars My 6 month old loves his cars!
This is a wonderful toy that is fun, educational, and affordable! The cars are different colors, and each has a different number, 1 - 4, to help a child learn counting and colors. They also stack on top of each other and nest inside of each other.(The nesting feature is great for storage too). Each car has a neat fun feature for little ones to explore (e.g., the small car is also a rattle, the large fire truck's ladder moves, etc.) The cars are also very sturdy (as has been proven by my son repeatedly banging them together,) and they are easy for little hands to grab onto. At 6 months of age, my son really enjoys looking at the toys, passing them from one hand to the other, banging them together, and, of course, putting them in his mouth. I imagine this toy will remain one of my son's favorites as he learns to stack them and roll them on the floor. I would highly recommend this item.

Very nice toy!
These are such nice cars to teach little ones numbers and the stacking value. Ours have been scooted across the floor, cat's tail, into walls, you name it and they've always come back for more. It's just a nice change from the nesting blocks and it's fun to hear all the vehicle sounds that children make with these guys. I'd buy them again for sure!

Great toy
I bought these for my nephew when he was 6 months old, he is now 2 and still uses them everyday. Since they stack, they are easy for my sister to cart around in her bag to restuarants, doctors, etc. They still look brand new. A must for any infant/toddler who loves cars and trucks!

Great Toy for Younger Children
My son got these when he was 6 months old and has loved them since. He'll play with these everyday and for a while at a time. There aren't many toys out there that can hold his interest for more than a few minutes, but these can. ... Read more

Get ready to learn shapes, colors, numbers, letters, face parts, animal sounds, and more with Elmo, Big Bird, Cookie Monster, and the rest of the Sesame Street gang! This Sing & Teach Table features tons of buttons and other interactive gadgets that prompt fun lessons for babies and toddlers, all in the wacky, weird voices of the Muppets. (Presumably, tots are familiar enough with the characters to understand all the squeals and growls.) The semi-circular shaped plastic table stands 12 inches high, not counting the waggling Elmo head that presides over the action. Children sit or stand at the table, lifting the Cookie Monster head to learn about "open" and "closed," spinning a drum for the alphabet song, or picking up a cell phone to hear The Count soliloquize about numbers. Pure Entertainment!
My son got this as a gift and started playing with it at 7 months. He LOVED the music buttons and would be on his hands and knees rocking to the music. I honestly don't know of any other toy that entertains him for that long. He loves to play with the other sides as well, and now that he is 11 months old he seems to understand more of it. I highly recommend it.

Still loving it!
I got this toy when my son was about nine months old- and he instantly loved the music buttons. Now he's 27 months, and still loves the music buttons. The blocks are now lost, and he never figures out some of teh stuff on it, but he run right over every morning and hits a music button!

Great 6-sider of Entertainment
Having read the reviews I decided to go ahead and buy my 11 month old daughter the busy box as I loved the fact that it had 6 sides of activities to keep her entertained - and I was right- she loves it - especially the tune buttons - she has already worked out which one drives her father crazy!!!!
Only adverse comment I have is that she has managed to pull the door off - but it goes back on easily enough. Great product!

My son loves the music!
I have a 14 month-old son who loves to push the buttons to play the music. We hear birds, dogs and frogs all over our house. The "door" came off pretty easily, but it just makes it a little easier for him to get things out of it that he puts in it.

Great Toy!!!!!!!!!!
We got this for our 18 month old at christmas and he still loves to play with it. It is well worth the money with everything your child gets out of it. I looked at all different kinds of activity centers (the wooden high price ones) and I am so glad we went with this one. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Very durable and educational
This is a wonderful puzzle that is both fun and educational. The puzzle is made of thick, quality plywood and very durable. It has taken quite a bit of abuse from my 19 mo. old daughter. She tries to carry it from room to room and like most toddlers, thinks that if she presses the peices in each slot hard enough, it will eventually fit, hehe. Despite this abuse it has held up nicely. The colors have not faded and the puzzles pieces are big and easy for small hands to handle. The large knobs on each piece are especially nice for small hands. There are also pictures of similarly shaped objects beneath each shape to help reinforce it. Overall, a great toy that I think will withstand most any childs daily play.

5-0 out of 5 stars Terrific play value
I love wooden puzzles because they are relatively inexpensive (compared with most toys) and because I feel like my children are learning while they're playing. I have three children -- and many puzzles -- and this is one of the best. I bought it for my youngest (now 32 mos) for her second birthday and it's a huge hit. The puzzle pieces are very thick and durable, and the large wooden knobs are the perfect size for tiny hands (and there's absolutely no chance they'll come off). The colorful pictures under each shape really keep my daughter's interest, especially when she was younger and loved to play peek-a-boo using the pieces and the pictures. Now, she loves identifying each picture so it's great a great vocabulary building tool too.

In short, don't hesitate to buy this toy. :)

Excellent puzzle, but who lives in a pentagon house?
This is a great puzzle, it's very durable, the handles are big and great for little hands. My daughter loves to take the pieces out and bang them together like cymbals. Under each shape is a picture of something of that shape, you know stop sign under the octagon, etc. However, there is a house under the pentagon and it drives me nuts - whose house is pentagon shaped!?!!?

great learning tool
I purchased this puzzle for my daughter at 17 months old. I like the fact that she can handle the pieces in her little hands. It is made very well.

Cost $4.99 at toys-r-us store.
I bought this yesterday from a toys r us store for $4.99 plus tax. $19.99 is a total rip off for this. My son does love it and it is a great toy to buy for your child but this price is not justified unless you live on a mountain top and have it delivered to your door. All the wooden puzzles by Melissa and Doug are $4.99 at toys r us and target. So either both stores in my area are mispricing them or online is over charging for the same thing. ... Read more

Baby loves this toy
My 9 month old loves this toy. She spends long periods of time pulling the shapes out, shaking and squeezing them, chewing on them, and tossing them across the room. This is a wonderful toy that encourages independent play.

I got this as a gift for my 6 month old son. The great thing about this toy is that it's baby friendly. It's a great take out and put in toy, but even more then that, the soft shapes each match a shape on the sides of the soft sorter but will fit in any of the shapes so he doesn't get frustrated. 3-0 out of 5 stars Pretty good deal but could be more exciting
I bought these blocks for my daughter when she was 9 months old and she really only enjoys them now. She is 14 months now and is starting to recognize some of the objects inside when I ask her to get them. But be warned bc they're not great for the real younger babies since there are only a few of them that really do anything like beep or rattle. Most of them just have a stationary object that may jiggle a bit. The ones that you can twist yourself are not child-friendly. She can't turn the knob at all so she gets frustrated. My 3 yr old can just do it. He likes them too bc they incorporate the alphabet. Another thing is that the printed letters block some of the objects so it's harder to see inside. I would more so recommend a diff set for a younger baby (6 mos)- like the sound sensations and these for an older child (1 yr). Although you can't beat the price for 26 of these blocks! I also just recently got the Roll-A-Rounds by fisher price as a gift. It's the same concept but a ball vs block. She likes them ALOT!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great value.

Editorial Review

An innovative toy for those who are way too young to look after real fish, this soft baby toy is a seven by seven-inch "fish bowl" with two transparent side panels containing real water. Small aquatic critters float around in these narrow walls of water. Even more interesting are the four three-inch stuffy toys (a fish, starfish, clam, and crab) that fit into the "bowl" between the watery side panels; the magnifying effect of the sides really makes these toys (and anything else in the bowl) look as if they are under water. The soft base is weighted and makes the bowl quite stable. --Richard Farr ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Toy!!
We received this as a Xmas gift when my son was 1 month old. He has always like to look at the faces on the fish and has enjoyed the noise each one makes, but now that he is almost one, he plays with it for hours!! He loves to put the fish into the bowl, take them out, put them back in, and then he tries to put other toys in as well to see if they will fit. He plays with this on a daily basis. Disregard the other unfavorable reviews and definitely buy this toy. Your child will enjoy it!! Great value!!

5-0 out of 5 stars GREAT TOY for Smart Babies!
This toy is great! I don't know what some of the other reviewers are doing, perhaps not interacting with their babies and expecting the toy to entertain by itself. Our son started playing with it at about 5 mos, especially the fish( le poisson) and crab (crinkle crab), just handling them, shaking them a little. By 6 mos he was taking the fish and others out of the aquarium and shaking them, etc. Now at 7 mos he can put the fish and friends in and out of the aquarium. He likes shaking them, manipulating them, throwing them and having a great time. Our friend's one year old also enjoys playing with this toy, placing the fish in and out and such. It is a toy that babies would play with on their own, but that lends itself to interaction with parents. It is not a loud, battery powered, flashy toy. I think it is a nice toy to use before a baby is quite ready for a shape sorter. They can work on coordination and not get so frustrated. The size of the fish, crab, clam are all perfect for small hands too. Great to chew on for teething! I strongly recommmend it and would get it for a friend in a minute.

2-0 out of 5 stars don't bother
I put it on my registry because it really is very cute. Too bad my daughter doesn't think so. I have given it to her regularly and at nine months she still has no interest in it. It is the least played with toy in her toy box. None of the kids in her playgroup ever looked at it either.

2-0 out of 5 stars Worth waiting until they are 9 months old
We gave this toy to my son when he was around 5 months old and I was afraid it may be on the boring side (my husband had really liked it). He has always responded to the faces on the sea creatures and been drawn to the shiny plastic sides or chewing on it all, but it's only now, at 9 months, that he's playing with it consistently. We put it away for a couple of months and now he is enjoying taking the animals out, watching the water move in the sides, and occassionally putting the animals back inside (he also enjoys throwing the animals out of his crib and watching them fall - and me fetch them from underneath). If you've given this to a young baby try reintroducing it periodically and you may be surprised.

2-0 out of 5 stars Boring
This is, in relation to all the toys available today, a pretty boring little toy. My daughter has never been very interested in it. Maybe it is the weird, plastic-y smell that it has . . . ... Read more

I LOVE THIS TOY! GREAT FOR ALL AGES!
This toy was bought for my 10 month old son and he LOVES this toy! My 4 year old son, 12 year old Daughter, and my 30 something husband also LOVE this toy as well as the cool blocks that come with it and the others that you can get separately. We also have the Giraff and will be getting the wagon too! This is one cool toy! I see lots of fun years ahead with these toys! It's great for ALL ages!

Great first truck!
This is by far my son's favorite toy. He has had this since he was six months old. At first, he just enjoyed shaking and mouthing the blocks. Now that he is 8 months old, he loves pushing it around and listening to the music. He hasn't gotten the hang of putting the blocks into the wheels or filling and dumping the truck yet, but we look forward to seeing the progress. I'm sure we'll get many more months out of this toy.

Great toy for a little kid
My son received this when he was about 9 months old and loved it. It was the one toy that he played with constantly! He loves putting the blocks in the back and dumping them out and every time the truck rolls, it plays music. Really cute!

5-0 out of 5 stars A happy boy!
I just got this for my 7 month old son. He has several lines of the peek a blocks and loves them. This one is a little different than his others because the blocks actually fit into different places on the truck. He is crawling and loves to move it around (It sings a song whenever the wheels move) He loves the blocks. I am trying to show him how to put them in the truck and dump them out! He likes also putting cheerios in the truck! The blocks also work well for teething, they are textured and he loves chewing on them! This is a great product and I can see it keeping his interest for a long time. My niece is 19 mos old and when she comes to visit, she loves to play with it too!

5-0 out of 5 stars A favorite toy in our house
This is a great dump truck for any older baby/toddler who loves cars. My thirteen month old is a big fan of peek-a-blocks and this is my favorite toy in the line. The truck is constructed wonderfully, the blocks are GREAT (more interesting than other toys in the line), and you can incorporate the blocks into the truck very easily. My only complaint is that the song gets annoying but that's what the off swich is for. Highly recommended!!! ... Read more

You don’t have to be Michael Jordan to excel at basketball thanks to this fun and versatile hoops set from the educational-toy experts at LeapFrog. The adjustable backboard and hoop can be set near the ground for very young children or elevated up to 20 inches as kids grow and seek new challenges. Best of all, the backboard lights up and talks to offer encouragement and help teach numbers, letters, and simple spelling. The tray beneath the hoop can be set to catch the two included balls or roll them back to your pintsize Kobe Bryant. This is a great way for little ones to practice their motor skills, learn numbers and letters, and, most importantly, have fun. --John Moe ... Read more

Disappointed
The connection between the base and the post for the hoop has too much play in it. Every time you touch the hoop with any force(much less grab it or yank it like every baby will do to balance and play with it) the board re-sets like you are starting over. I have checked repeatedly and the post is in as far as it will go. Not much help for learning letters and counting. Needs a re-design!!

Disappointing
My son got such a kick out of this toy - but only because we cheer very loudly when he gets the ball in the hoop. The toy does no cheering, counting or spelling what so ever! So from an educational standpoint - this toy was very disappointing. In order to get the "frog" to say the letters or numbers, you have to hold down the knob inside the basket for a really long time. What kid does that? When I purchased this toy, I also bought the Learning Piano and See & Sound Phonic Radio - those toys are great & I'd recommend those over this one any day.

not safe
this toy is fun and educational but is not safe. my son has hurt himself many times because the ring falls off easily and he falls with it.

Too easy to move!
My son received this toy as a gift for his first birthday and he shares it with his 2.5 year old sister. My problem with it is it's lack of height (good for a sitter, but not for a child who is standing or walking!) and the fact that it topples over so easily! Also, the backboard is adjustable, but my very light-weight daughter only has to lean on it a little bit to have it slide back down to it's lowest height. They enjoy playing with it, but it always seems to be needing to be put back up and the backboard re-adjusted!

fun for both kids
my 9 month old got this for xmas and I think his 3 year old sister has more fun with it. she shows him how to do it. I don't like that it is always tipping over. now that he is starting to "cruise" he will try to pull up on it and them both tumble. also the hoop part cames out at the base and it doesn't stay in postition. The kids have a lot of fun with it and I think it is great for learning numbers and letters, I just wish it was a little more sturdy. ... Read more

My son received this as a gift and he just adores it! I like that it has a two volume settings, as well.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Toy
We recently bought this toy for our 11 1/2 month old daughter..she loves it..We bought the Christmas version of it though..It is so cute..I actually like it better than the origanal version. The blocks are so cute and our daughter gets excited when she plays with them...She is walking now and has been since was 10 1/2 months old and loves to follow along after the train..she loves the music when she pushes down its smoke stack..its just a very entertaining toy for her..Great buy..I love all of the Peak a blocks..they are a great toy for any age.

5-0 out of 5 stars A favorite!!!
Our daughter received this from her train-loving family for Christmas when she was only 2 months old. She has loved it from the start, even when she could only lay there and watch it go rolling by her. Now she crawls after it and squeals in delight. She loves to try to grab the blocks off the top as it goes by. It has an off switch as well as a high and low volume. The music it plays is pleasant enough and the little 'toot, toot' is cute too. I think this is one of those rare toys that will last through both the baby and toddler years. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

5-0 out of 5 stars A big hit
I purchased all of the peek-a-block toy sets before my son was born. All of them have been a great hit. My son is now 8 months old and this is his favorite of all of the peek-a-block toys. At 6 months old I brought it out for him to play with and he instantly loved it, at 7 months old he had figured out that if he pushed the front of the train it would play music and move and he loves to crawl after it. He also discovered that if he pushed the spinning piece in the center it would play music and he instantly starts to move as if he is trying to dance. At 8 months he has discovered that at the bottom of the blocks there is a place to spin what ever object is inside and when he finally gets his little finger to turn the object inside he laughs, then places the block on the train. Also, my 3 year old nephew instantly runs to this toy when ever he comes over, so I know that this toy will be a big hit for some time.

5-0 out of 5 stars GREAT!
My 8mth old loves this toy it encourages him to crawl after it and to play with the blocks. he also try's to put them back on the train. when you push the trains smoke stack it starts playing music and starts moving he starts to laugh and crawl. This toy is great! ... Read more
