Can this be called a mere train? In glorious yellow, red, and green with a silk ribbon tail, the exotic rolling Chinese Dragon is fit for royalty. With eight working wheels, this car can take the curves with the best of 'em. Its festive air makes the sturdy 4-inch wood car perfect for a parade or a carnival. I bought this toy for my one year old last year and both he and my three year old son LOVED IT! They still play with it and have a great time. This bright green toy will bring a smile to any little train fan's face. Based on the award-winning PBS television series Shining Time Station by the Rev. W. Awdry, the Thomas the Tank train set is a perfect child's train set. Duck's job is setting cars in the yard and pulling small freight. Each wooden vehicle in the series has a different name, character, and face. Magnetic bumpers make linking up easy. Friendly characters engage kids in hours of imaginary play. A great addition to your set
This toy is really durable. My sister threw it down our stairs a buch of times and it didn't even get a scratch. This is well worth the money and a great addition to anyone's collection.

5-0 out of 5 stars Duck the great
The learning curve Thomas sets are among the best toy train sets I've seen. The toys are especially durable and well-made. Duck is a unique engine who has some prominent roles in some of the earlier, original Thomas stories. The Duck engine toy is a good addition to an existing Thomas train set. ... Read more

Duncan is a plain-vanilla type of train engine. He once worked in a factory and has a straightforward way of speaking. That, combined with his affection for rock & roll, has potential to get him into trouble. This simple yellow-and-black 3-inch wood engine brings to mind the proverbial worker bee. A Great Buy
Duncan is one of the little engines but his train shows him just as big as Thomas or Percy. These are great for little kids becasue you pull the trains by yourself without the use of any batteries. Great but I wish these weren't so expensive.

the only toy played by my toddler for ever
I can only say the thomas tank engine series is the only one my toddler plays for ever and again and again for the last few years, and for the future year as well, I believe. It worths the expensive money.

THOMAS & FRIENDS ARE GREAT!
Like the other reviews I have written, we feel that ALL of the Thomas & Friends toys (engines, cars, track & accessories) are excellent. Yes, you can find cheaper items as Thomas things can get a little pricey, but it last and last. I hope to pass my boys stuff onto their children. The Thomas story line is pure. No junk going into our little ones heads from Thomas and NO BATTERIES REQUIRED! No lights, annoying sounds or running the batteries down. We LOVE Thomas in our home.

5-0 out of 5 stars Duncan, The Small Yellow Engine
If your child has seen the video "Thomas and The Special Letter", then the new character was Duncan. Duncan means well, but he's bouncy and rude. He sings, sways, and swivels around. His driver calls it Rock 'n' Roll. Add Duncan to your child's Wooden Thomas Collection. ... Read more

Go Douglas
Douglas is a good engine and this one is a great buy for your money. The magnets work very well and they don't come apart in a second like some other toys do. Douglas would not be complete without his twin Donald. These toys are very durable and kids can play with them for hours.

Cool!
Kids think this toy is very cool. It's very enjoyable and it's durable.

It's pricy for the size but good enjoyment is something that no amount of money culd buy.

Direct From Merry Ol' Scotland!
Douglas is another in the fine line of Thomas the Tank Engine trains, and he upholds the tradition of fun, educational learning for children. Douglas has sleek black paint, a smiling face, and a large coal car that my son enjoys very much. Douglas has been an excellent addition to my son's Thomas collection. He is built strong for hours of use. Purchase Douglas or any of the fine Thomas trains. They are worth the money and your children will love them.

5-0 out of 5 stars 1-10
I noticed the numbers on all the engines so I bought this one so I could make it so my son could count the engines from 1-10. This is number 10. Only the coal cars are marked.

4-0 out of 5 stars Durability
I have found that in a very very short time after purchase, the paint on all the Thomas & Friends trains I have purchased has badly chipped off. One would think for the price you pay the paint would last. Iwould recommend the age group to begin at at least 3, if not later asI do not think children any younger can appreciate the fact that thesetoys cannot be dropped into the storage box or anywhere without thepaint chipping off. I wish Learning Curve would use a more durablepaint, especially for the price of the trains and the fact that the company is appealing to children (only) 24 months and older! Further, the battery operated Thomas and Percy engines are difficult to turn off and on and also the paint chips off very quickly. I even had to return the battery operated Thomas soon after purchase as the screw to the battery compartment stripped and therefore I could no longer keep the compartment closed. With children who do not know to always turn the engines off when finished, the batteries are changed often and the compartment must be durable. Again for the price, one would think it could be more durable and perhaps have an autostop function (turns off after a few minutes of non-use)as with the Brio super red locomotive for the same price. ... Push Along Thomas is a hybrid: he looks like a train but moveslike a car. Based on the character from the book and television seriesThomas the Tank Engine, this plastic locomotive measures 9inches long. Toddlers can practice walking by pushing the extendedhandle to move Thomas along. Fortunately, the long handle isdetachable, so prewalkers can roll him across the floor by gripping thehandle attached to the roof. Turn on the power switch, give the train agentle push, and hear a short, upbeat song. It requires threebutton-cell batteries to hear the music, but Push Along Thomas can be enjoyedwith or without electricity. --Lauren Bernard ... Read more

Lasts for a long time!
My son received this toy for his birthday a year ago when he turned one. He was already walking very well (we didn't use it as a "walker") and he loved it. He is about to turn two and he has played with the Push Along Thomas everyday since he got it (both indoors and outside). It is very durable and still looks brand new! The red handle does come off easily but my son quickly learned how to put it back on by himself. Also, we have only had to change the batteries once. This toy is one of the best we have had so far.

Handle comes off too easily
Cute toy that plays a very cute little train tune. Unfortunately the handle does come off quite easily. Not sure if I would recommend it. My 11 month old does play with it though!

Not the best toy.
Don't get me wrong, we really like Thomas the Tank. However, this is not a great toy. The handle comes off way to easy and it arrived with batteries like it said but they don't work and they are specialty batteries (like watch batteries) so we still don't have batteries. For the price get something else.

Great value for young Thomas fans!
My son got this toy for a Christmas present when he was 18 months old. At first, as a late walker, he was content to just push it around the house. He is a little over three now, and he likes to pretend it is a lawn mower, vacuum cleaner, etc. The handle is easy to detach and he also pretends to use it in various ways. The toy plays a short, happy, and fairly quiet "Thomas" melody when pushed, but it's not necessary for fun - our batteries gave out a while ago and we haven't replaced them, but our son is still interested in this toy. ... You can almost hear the rumble of the construction site.Ambitious young construction workers have got to have good (and fun)equipment, and they can't do much better than this rugged, giant dumptruck filled with Mega Bloks. The 1-foot-wide-by-over-1.5-foot-longplastic dumper comes with dozens of Maxi Mega Bloks in its hauling bed(the biggest, easiest-to-handle block in the Mega Blok line). Asmiling, 3-inch-high driver, complete with green coveralls and a brightyellow hardhat, drives along on tough 5-inch-high plastic wheels, andthe bed on this rig tips back and dumps. excellent toy
We bought this for our one year old son, he is now three. He plays with it all the time. Very durable, it looks like we just bought it. He puts everything in it and pushes it around. I highly reccommend this toy well worth the money spent.

Beware of chipping paint!!!
We recieved this as a 1st birthday gift for our son, who is still going throught the teething/chewing on everything stage. I must say after he played with the little man that is in the truck I was horrified to see his mouth full of yellow paint. It seems the hard hat on the little man is painted and not colored plastic. And it all peels off if it is put in the mouth. My son does love the toy and plays with it all the time, just not the man that goes with it!

4-0 out of 5 stars My son loves it!!
We got this for our son for Christmas last year (he just turned 1). He plays with this everyday! He loves running around and pushing the truck everywhere and especially loves dumping all of the pieces out! The only complaint I have is the latch for the dump bucket. It's hard for him to get it unlatched himself so he can dump the blocks, and that really upsets him. Other than that it's a great toy!!!!!

3-0 out of 5 stars A Decent Toy
This toy is decent. My major complaint is that the bed on the truck does not latch well enough. My daughter has fallen several times pushing the truck from the back because the bed has flipped up. She likes other Mega Block toys better, but this one is acceptable.

5-0 out of 5 stars Big Truck - Big Fun
My son loves his Mega Truck...he loads it (with Matchbox mostly) and dumps it...pushes it around the house...and then begins the process again. The blocks are fun, too! He's on his second one now...wore the wheels off the first...very durable considering it's excessive use! Would highly recommend this toy for the little guys who love "big trucks". ... Read more

Crissy's Review
I love the trains to the Thomas the Train set. They are small enough for small hands to move along the tracks, but not small enough to pose a choking hazard. My eighteen month loves to play with this train because it is just his size. It's not to awkward for him to hold.

5-0 out of 5 stars Simply Great Toys
My son loves all of the Thomas toys, we started his set a year ago and have kept building on to it. He still plays with his engines almost everyday. Great toys that really last and are worth the extra you pay. We recently bought a Tomica brand Thomas toy and I ended up returning it that night (something I have never done) as I was so dissapointed in the quality.

Good for your other trains to pull
This tanker is good for kids who like to connect all of their trains. It also is fun to pull a train over the tracks. I like to use this one with the Fuel and Tar tankers because there all the same shape. I got this train eight years ago and it still works perfectly and it's in good condition. A great buy for your money.

Milk
This toy is great for kids! Also it's very durable.

Not only that, but it inspires them to drink milk. I was shocked right after I gave them this toy for the first time when they ASKED for milk...they hate milk!

So if you have milk problems with your kids, this is a must!

Not the best for the price
I bought this for my three-year-old son for Christmas, and before he had even played with it for two minutes, the cab with the crane part was broken at the point where it snaps on to the flatbed. For $55, I feel this is a cheaply made product. The plastic is flimsy and the parts are not durable. However, he does like it, although it is frustrating for him to have to constantly try to put the cab and crane back on the flatbed portion. I would not recommend this product because there are so many more well made trucks and machines out there for 1/2 the price or less./

Pricey for a Plastic Toy
My son got this as a Christmas present and absolutely loves the truck. The only "issue" I had with the toy was that it was all Plastic for toy with so high a price tag. His Tonka trucks are 1/2 the price and are metal. He soes love it and plays with it often.

a mixed bag
my kids begged for a logging truck after watching the "House Construction Ahead" video that includes footage of cool logging machines. Our Brio garbage truck has been so durable (they RIDE the thing, for heavens sake) that I figured this would be bomber as well. However, the pick-up claw broke after 10 minutes (on christmas morning, ouch). The company cheerfully replaced the broken piece, but that also broke after a couple days. The claw was never easy for little hands to manipulate - sized more for a grown-up and causing much toddler frustration - so I never bothered replacing it again. But the rest of the truck keeps going and going. My kids are now nearly 40 pounds and they have ridden it with their full weight daily for nearly a year now. I think its indestructible. What a shame that they put such a junky claw piece on an otherwise sturdy toy ... Read more
