3-0 out of 5 stars This is pretty cool
when you first get batteries it flies good it will stay in the air for a while. But when the batteries start to go out itstarts to suck. The air hogs dominator is really durable to I craashed it a bunch and only got a few battle scars on it. but over all this is a pretty cool toy.
P.S Don't get dollar tree batteries like my mom did it will start dying after about two flites.

4-0 out of 5 stars Best flying RC plane yet!
After my nephew saw the Dominator commercial he was dying for a Dominator. So I bought it. Well out of all the RC planes I've tried, this has been the easiest to learn. You can't miss it in the sky since the plane body is huge and the control is reasonable for the price. Compared to the other stealth looking planes in the stores, this by far was the best in price. Overall, my nephew adored the plane, it provided a decent time period of flight. I recommend purchasing this plane for any child who likes RC products and outdoor fun. Great plane!

3-0 out of 5 stars ok..... not really
well i bought this for my friends birthday and the next day i came over and we went to a field and started to fly it. WARNING LANDING SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! as u can see the lands is horrible but it can fly for a good amount of time. but if u even try to land it it will twirl in the air and go head first into the ground. I would not buy it

3-0 out of 5 stars All planes a series of compromises, this is no exception
The new Air Hogs Dominator is an interesting RC plane, way off in a corner of the design space.I am a fan of low-aspect ratio designs, and this plane certainly demonstrates the advantages and disadvantages of low-aspect ratio airplanes.

The airframe seems incredibly rugged. While the tails are potentially breakable, the wing is fat and seems quite strong. The low-aspect ratio design leads toa plane with reasonable wing area, but still a very small wingspan -- so that it can fit in a normal-sized box fully assembled. The thickness of the wing allows it to be very strong while just made out of the cheapest, lightest foam.

On the other hand, the plane doesn't glide very well, with a glide ratio of maybe 5.This means that when you shut the engines down, it sinks like a rock. This is maybe not such a bad thing, though -- it's not going to sail away from youlike some RC gliders. The extremely small size (and basically equilateral-triangle shape) makes it somewhat difficult to determine which way the plane is flying. When it's a couple of hundred feet away it becomes quite difficult to see.

The differential throttle control is weak. Now, many RC crashes are due to over-control -- that can't happen with this plane. The plane treats control inputsas suggestions more than commands. This lack of strong control means that you really want to fly this plane in an extremely large field -- and launch it from the center.Don't for a minute think that you can toss this plane off a cliff (say) and get it back to the takeoff spot -- at least not until you have a lot ofexperience with this plane.I've flown a lot of RC, and this is by far the hardest plane I've flown to get to a particular spot.

The plane really wants to spiral.Again, as you don't want to have it get too far away from you, maybe that's not a bad thing. The control is iffy enough, too, that it's very easy for the plane to get downwind of you in any kind of breeze.I wouldn't fly it in more than a five mph wind.

The low L/D of this design means that you run through the batteries pretty quickly, I would say that my longest flight so far has been about 3 minutes.

Still, it's fun. It's so easy to toss in the car, toss into the air, and fly.The props seem reasonably well protected -- although I've only flown the plane in long grass (and would recommend that that be the only place to fly it.)It's cheap, simple, seems rugged, and has a cuteness factor that can't be ignored. As I've said, I'm prejudiced toward low-aspect ratio designs, it's fun to play with one.

I'll write a long-term review in a few weeks.

2-0 out of 5 stars Fun....but tuff to controll
I got this toy a day ago, I took it out to fly it and I was having fun until it started going straight and I was using the controller to make it go right and it just kept going straight. Then after it went straight for a while, it just started to go in circles and I couldn't controll it. Then it just crashed. It was fun until i lost controll ... Read more

The Best Toy I'v Ever Bought
This Toy is the greatest toy I've ever played with. The prices are low and they give you (((((2)))))) blimps. The blimps don't pop when you stick a sowing needle through it. They can gow pretty fast. The greates thing is you can use them indoors or out. I would reccomend using them indoors because when outdoors they can get stuck in trees. even with their strong twin engine sometimes the wind can carry them away.

Great Value for the Price
This is the coolest item I have seen. It works great and you can get helium from any party store or florist and have a ball. The helium last a few days and the blimps fly great. Plus, you get 2 for the price.

Nice.

DO NOT BUY!!!
I hve purchased the blimp set...and i thought it was the best thing that money could buy. Oh yes it is very epensive for JUST the blimps and engens and all the electronic items that are included... BUT that is not all of the costs. You also need to pay [$$$] for helium. I also had to return it TWICE to get a new one because the helium would not stay in. The engens also broke. If i were you I would save my money for somthing better. I had used it for a while before the helium ran out and i was not going to go refill it because of the high price. This product is not worth the money so i recomend to not buy it. I hope my review is as helpfull to you as it would have been for me. [...] ... Read more

Don't Waste Your Time Or Your Money
The battery position makes this plane "nose heavy " and ours never did get off the ground. In addition, the small nuts which hold the rear landing gear loosen up due to the vibration which could lead to losing the wheel. As "first time" R/C enthusiasts, we were very disappointed by the performance of this plane.

2 channels are not enough!
Easy enough to fly and do so in a VERY large field on a very calm day.

Turns done at low altitude readily lead to spins and crashes

Controls let you climb with motor power and make left and right turns that readily turn into spins.

I have crashed plenty as a part of my learning and now I want at least a 3 channel and preferably a 4 channel plane

Lack of proportional controls means turns are done with small corrective left rights otherwise it is spin and crash city.

Thick clear packing tape repairs most of the damage done on the foam wings and tail

Funb Plane
My brother got the Outlaw, but it doesnt fly! Mine did and it was windy also. His flew away mine didnt

Good for beginners
This is my first radio controll ariplane and it was really easy. It took me a few times to get the hang of it but it actually flies for a long time unlike other ones I've had that don't even fly at all! After you use the battery a few times it actually lasts longer. It takes off from the ground which is cool but hand launching is alot easier.

So Easy!
This was my first time ever trying to fly a radio control airplane. I have seen other people doing it and I thought it would be very hard but I tossed it into the air and it flew right up! It is very easy to control. I crash landed a few times but it still flies great! This plane is so much fun! ... Read more

Product Description

HobbyZone pioneered radio controlled sports when it introduced the Firebird™ line of ready-to-fly RC aircraft. This unique line of airplanes is the first to effectively deliver on the promise of a successful first flight right out of the box, even if you’d never touched an RC transmitter before. With the addition of the Firebird Outlaw™ to this lineup, HobbyZone realizes another dream—a no-experience-necessary RC airplane that includes everything you need to get flying for about $60. You get an airplane, transmitter with a 9V battery, rechargeable airplane battery, and an AC wall charger all in one box. There is literally nothing left to buy. But outstanding value isn’t the only thing the Firebird Outlaw’s got going for it. Like the rest of the Firebird line, the Firebird Outlaw is a hobby-quality aircraft that uses the same technology found on much more complex radio control planes. Its FM transmitter provides excellent signal range and the controls are fully proportional for a smooth precise feel that is one of the reasons it’s so easy to fly. It also boasts an impressive 10-minute flight time—more than twice as long as other RC planes in its category. Beginners only have to master two controls: throttle and steering. Equipped with a twin-engine propulsion system, the Firebird Outlaw climbs and descends when power is increased or decreased. Differential thrust controls direction. Sophisticated circuitry precisely controls the differential thrust so beginners don’t over control and crash. Even if things do get a little out of control, HobbyZone provides full parts support to get you back in the air in no time. Earning your RC wings has never been this easy or affordable. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars so-so
Pretty good plane. But it needs alot of room. Its turning has a wide radius. Also it can stall in mid flight. reccomended for novice flyers.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good stuff!
This is a good plane but you need a lot of space. Still managed to get my one in to a tree, but i got it out again. One thing printed on to the box of the plane is wrong: "diffrential thrust makes steering as easy as steering an rc car". That's not really true, because an rc car reacts allmost immediatly, while the plane reacts later. My range was perfect. The plane flew about 30 meters high. At that hight i just used it as a glider. I workt perfect! And the plane is really strong, because when i had to get it out of the tree, i could not catch and it smacked in to the ground. It had NO damage. And the battery last 10 minutes plus.

4-0 out of 5 stars 1st timer plane
i got this plane when it first came out. iflew it the first day in front of my house it is nice the only thing is the rear tail was not balinced correctly so it just turned but that can easly be fixed with a wrench

5-0 out of 5 stars This is one of the best toys I have ever gotten!
When I first got this for my 10th birthday, I took it to fly in a big empty field. It was a lot of fun, but I crashed into 3 trees and I put some dents in it. It was hard to figure out how to turn it, so my dad tried and he was even worse than me! So just keep trying and you can get better at flying it.

THIS SUCKS!
THIS BATTERY IS A RIP OFF. THE CHARGER TAKES FOREVER, AND THERE IS NO AUTOMATIC SHUTOFF! THE BATTERY ONLY HAS 800 MAH! (...)PRODUCT!
!!(...)

9.6v Charger And Battery
This Charger Is A Great Buy. Only $... And You Can Charge It Up To 1,000 Times. To Get All Those Charges, Though, You Shouldn't Charge It More Than 4 Hours And You Shouldn't Put In The Charger When It's Still Warm Or Not Used All The Way. It Is Always Best To Buy Atleast 2 Of These Batteries Because They Last 15-20 Min. Each Charge, So With 2 You Get 40 Min. Run Time.

Two batteries makes it all the better!
When you have two batteries it's so much fun because when you're finish having a blast for a half and hour you can do it a whole other half and hour! So make sure to have two! One more thing that's cool even though it takes a long time to charge if you have two you can kind of cut the time in half! So I'd recommend buying two cause two makes it all the more fun!

5-0 out of 5 stars Very Useful
I have 4 nikko cars: A Hummvee, A Dodge Viper, A Mercedes Benz SLK 230, and a Ford F-150 Harley Davidson. The Mercedes and the Ford both use a 9.6v battery. I only have 1 each so getting another one would really help. The Lights on the Mercedes go on when it moves so it does cut the battery life and the Turbo that I frequently use and there's also the Roof which I fiddle around a lot. The result: having a short battery life but now I got two so no need to worry. Very useful!! Get it with your 9.6v R/C

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent!
I had a Ford F-150 Harley Davidson Edition R/C car and everytime I come back from school at 3:00 I would play it but at 3:41 or so the batteries dies. Especially when I like to use Turbo. I have to recharge it for 4 hours then when I want to play it's dark out and even during the summer wher the sun sets at approximetly 8:30, I have to eat dinner. Now I have 2 which makes my life a little easier. I would play it maybe till 4:30. I would reccomend it to anyone who just want to play longer than 30 minutes. ... Read more

There is no specification/description given on the site. The only specification you can find is from the picture that claims to be 720mAh. But when you recieve the battery, the actual mAh is 620 which is written on battery.

The Nikko Rechargeable battery and adapter makes a good deal for money. It has slashed my battery bills to nothing. The set is light in weight and can be conveniently recharged in hours. A stronger casing would have helped but nonetheless the set is a right deal for someone who uses up lot of batteries. The charging capacity remains strong enough for long term use. ... Read more

sucky toys
I hated this toy. it barely ever got going over 15 mph. the toy SUCKS....

Waste of money
Guess what. This plane doesn't fly. It's weak motor can barely hold the plane up. It sucks at turning, crashes often, and you can't land it saftly. Basically it sucks overall, isn't any fun because u can barely control it, and it's a great waste of $100. DO NOT BUY THIS PLANE!!!

Review for sky vector rc airplain
the sky vector rc airplain look's good when you see the body but when you fly it you wouldn't have that much fun with it. When I got it I tought it would be better than by other rc airplane. When I first flew it it flew good but it doesn't make good turns as other airplains for first time flyers. When I landed it the tail broke because it doesn't have a landing gear, that's the worst part, but I taped the tail. And when I flew it the other day it flew good and it landed slowly. The next day when I was flying it it went strait for this trees I was trying to change diractions but, just like I said it doesn't make good turns, it didn't turn. So it got stuck on the tree. I had no choise but to wait antil some wind get it dowen. I kept checking everyday, one day it got lower and got stuck on another branch. Two weeks had passed and most of those days were lot's of rain. On the next day when I checked it got even lower and I brought three broom sticks and taped them each other and got my plain dowen the wing was damaged. when I got home and tryed it the electronics inside it were dameged by the rain so I just took it apart and took out the motor and servo. So if you are a starter I wouldn't recomand this rc plane.

the best
it is the best toy ever so get it dont buy cheap ones or they dont fly good!!!!!

Fragile beyond belief
So, my 11 year-old son and I had our first flight today, after waiting over one month for a calm day. I have several years experience with gas-powered R/C aircraft, so I thought I'd take the first flight, get the plane up to a decent altitude (100 feet or so) then hand it over to my boy. A light gust of wind (5-10 knots) ended the flight after about 30 seconds with a fairly soft upright impact in a snow-covered field before I could give him the controls. Upon reaching the plan, imagine my surprise to find the propeller broken in half, and the rubber-band peg in the back snapped in half. So much for a durable trainer plane!

I just e-mailed Megatech to see how/if I might get a replacement propeller and rubber-band peg, but I'm not hopeful, as these things don't look like they're user-replaceable.

I summary, a real POS. Save your money and spend another $100 or so and get something heavier-weight. If you buy the Sky Vector 2, more than likely you'll be disappointed, like my 11 year-old is right now. ... Read more

Editorial Review

The beauty of this radio-controlled vehicle is that you assemble it yourself with snap-together pieces. The vehicle can be assembled in any number of different ways, including a dune buggy shape and a scorpion. The great thing about this is that, since you need to build it before you can play, it engages your child actively in the process. This is not the "Here I am now, entertain me" experience that you find with most toys. In the course of assembling the car, you (or your kid) will learn the rudiments of how a steering system works, since no matter how creative you want to get with the rest of the vehicle, the steering has to be hooked up properly for the thing to work. This dragster comes in two frequencies, 27 MHz and 49 MHz, so if you want to get two and race them, you can do so without the signals conflicting. Requires one 9-volt battery and eight AAs (also compatible with a 9.6-volt rechargeable battery system). --David Stoesz ... Read more

The Dragster
when i first got my dragster i thought that it would be so much fun, but when i finished it, it turned out to be a piece of crap. it didn't even move. i realy hate this toy!!!!

Don't Bother Buying it!
I was Very Unsatisfy with this toy.The impression i got it was already built. I gave it for a gift , when they opened the box up, It was in a million pieces that had to be put together. It took about 2 hours. When it was finally done, they put it on the floor and it hit the wall and broke all over... I do not recommend this toy.

This toy is a hit!
My 8 year old son got this for Christmas and it has been the hit of the day, he loved building his own dragster and races it anywhere he can!

This car is really cool but i expected more.IT has kinda poor range and i like the fact that you can build different models but the steering is not good. ... Read more
