Editorial Review

This little wheelbarrow is the tool of choice for hauling flowers, grass clippings, toys, and other treasures. Not only does it look like a real wheelbarrow, it is a real wheelbarrow, with a red steel tray, a black triangular steel undercarriage, and finished hardwood handles. The tray has no-scratch edges and is 20 inches long, 16 inches wide, and 4 inches deep. The black plastic molded wheel is 7 inches in diameter and 1.25 inches wide. The wheelbarrow stands 11 inches from the floor and is 32 inches from the front of the tray to the ends of handles. The whole thing weighs a little more than 7 pounds. --Louise Carter ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars DURABLE and versatile - a definite "best buy"
This wheelbarrow is just like the ones adults use, but sized for 2 to 5 year olds. It is manufactured really well (not at all like the flimsy plastic ones you'll see at your local toystore) and is easy to assemble. Our children have used theirs to haul snow, sand, rocks, sticks, leaves, water, dolls, blocks, and eachother. Watch their self-esteem and self-confidence grow as they really contribute to outdoor chores by hauling their own load in their own wheelbarrow! This toy is durable and will be around long after my children have outgrown it. (Note - in case this is a gift, be careful where you have it shipped to because our wheelbarrows arrived in the original boxes you'd see in the toystore, with big pictures of the wheelbarrow on the side.) We couldn't be happier with this purchase of a quality Radio Flyer product.

Great Buy
This is so much better than the plastic wheelbarrows. My son has it all - toy blowers, weadeaters, mowers, etc. and this is his favorite because it actually looks just like daddy's! He hauls dirt, flowers, and of course, toys everywhere. We have had this since Christmas and it has lasted well.

good hard to find toy
When I gave this to my 4 1/2 year old nephew the first thing he did was pile his toys in it and give them a ride. I don't agree with the reviewers who think this is small. It looks like my nephew has alot of growing to do before anyone could suggest it was too small for him. My only problem was putting it together which is surprisingly difficult. That is more of a two person job.

Just like Daddy
My husband has been doing lots of yard work using a wheelbarrow. My two year old son tries with all his might to lug that big old wheelbarrow around but of course cannot. I bought this wheelbarrow for him so he could work along beside his dad safely. This is the cutest little thing I've seen! It is a perfect replica of a real full-size one. It is very sturdy and was very easy to put together. However, I will have to agree with another review that the recommended size is not correct. It is the perfect size for a two year old, if maybe even just a tad on the small side for him. This is okay since it makes it so easy for him to move it around safely. BUT...by next year, it will be too small. I believe the recommended age is 3-5 years or something like that. This wheelbarrow would be much too small for that age group. Overall, this wheelbarrow is a real find for a young one who likes pretend play and enjoys working in the yard just like Mommy or Daddy. Like typical Radio Flyer products, I'm sure it will last and last. I even had a friend who planted flowers in hers after her children outgrew it and it was precious.

Item is mislabeled on Amazon
I bought this item for my four year old niece, [as] it was suitable for 3-5 year olds. However, when the box arrived, the label said that it was for 18 month olds and up! This item is more suitable for 2 year olds than 4 year olds.... ... Read more

Cute but hard to play and Annoying
My daughter really liked her new grill, she was very excited to see her new toy as she really likes cooking and kitchen toys. The idea of getting this kind of toy was good but this toy was disappointing....the eyes and the mounth moves as the grill talks but when it moves it creates NOISE from moving aside from the annoying talking which never ends. I really like the idea of talking grill, keeps the kid from getting bored but it should only talk when a button is pressed or something, this thing scared me in the middle of the night when it started to talk, I almost called cops. plastic food is had to flip...I agree with the rest of the reviews on this page and would not recomend spending $$$$ on this

Ashley's not so happy
My daughter is 2 1/2 an tomboy at heart. This grill scared her. I thought that it was a lot of fun to play with but the constant talking and shaking made her not want to come near the thing. What a shame. This is a toy that should be tested out in the store first.

An good toy, but for younger babies.
The talking grill was given to our ten month old boy. He loves it. He gets excited when it talks, and he likes to kneel at the grill, grabbing onto the "food", which ends up in his mouth. We wish it had a shut-off button and it does tend to go off when no one is around, but since he loves it, we live with it. I could see how older children would get tired of it, but it's great for my ten month old.

Never Again
The thing doesn't SHUT UP!! It starts talking when a dust particle floats in front of it. She even got so annoyed with it that we finally had to take the batteries out! The lid is so hard to get back on. The accessories are cute but now worth the $35 I paid for it!

Don't buy it!
I wish I had read the reviews on this before I bought it. The lid comes off too easily and is difficult to get back on. The food is too hard for little ones to scoop up, and it starts talking when the wind blows or someone walks by it. Very annoying! ... Read more

Editorial Review

A realistically noisy pretend lawn mower with fun visual effects, this one is likely to get a good deal of use by toddlers who want to play grownup. The coolest part of this toy is the see-through plastic mulch compartment. It's full of tiny colored beads that dance around when the mower is in motion, giving the illusion of grass being mulched. An on/off key, gear switch, gas cap, and a loud popping noise add to the entertaining components. Made in typically durable Little Tikes fashion, this toy will stand up to many miles of lawn mowing. --Jane Snyder ... Read more

My Nephew Loves It
My nephew loves his Little Tikes Landscaper mower almost as much as his Little Tikes Cozy Coupe car. When he's not driving, he's out mowing, or in mowing as he often likes to mow his room, the hallway, living room, he doesn't care, he'll mow it all.

The mower is a great toy that keeps him running and walking and generally working out all his excess energy. The best part is the look of satisfaction on his face when he shows you his freshly mowed carpet or lawn. He's so proud!

My son does everything but slep with it....
I bought it for my 15 year old because I can't seem to get him to use the real &%((^_+^+ one.

Actually my son is 3 and has had it for a year and I would bet he has pushed it for 20+ miles following me around the yard. If you have a toddler that likes "bullbozers" and "dumpstrucks" then this is your toy.

Hard to push
My daughter recieved this mower for her second birthday. She was excited about being able to "help" me cut the grass. I don't know if the handle is too tall or just at the wrong angle, but she is unable to push it on the grass. As soon as she would start pushing, the mower's back wheels would come off the ground and it would tip forward. She's three now, and still has trouble with it on the grass. I have watched our friend's children try it also, with the same result. The mower seems to be well made, but just hasn't seen much use. Not much fun pushing a lawn mower when your not on the lawn.

The Absolute Best
I bought this for my son when he was 18 months. He absolutely loves it. He is now 26 months, and still enjoys the mower very much. He loves to push it up and down on our front lawn. It's a great pretend play!

Great for babies who can walk a few steps on their own
My 14-month-old son received this for his first birthday and it has been his favorite toy ever since.

He uses it indoors and outdoors. He pulls it, pushes it, pushes down on the handle to flip it up and look at the underside, plays with the controls, opens and closes the "gas cap", etc. He never tires of it. His latest game is to set a big ball on the "engine", and try to push the mower around without bumping the ball off.

IMPORTANT: This mower is great for babies who already can walk one or two steps on their own, or who can stand steadily on their own. It's not great for babies who need something to lean on in order to stand up or walk. If a baby leans or pulls up on the handle, they will not get the support they expect -- the handle will fall to the floor, taking them with it.

My son was walking about four or five steps on his own when he received this mower. His walking ability quickly skyrocketed after receiving it -- perhaps due to his strong desire to play with it.

Great toy -- we love it. Highly recommended. ... Read more

25 Month Old Loves It
My 25 month old daughter loves this toy. If you are a parent who plays with their child, you will too. This is a poor choice of toy to just hand to a child; it requires interactive play, at least initially. The case is a bit fragile, though. A small purse/bag works just as well as a substitute doctor's bag.

Good set
My twins just received this for their second birthday. So far, it's a huge hit! We are not having any problem fitting all the items into the bag. The blood pressure cuff doesn't stay together too well, but everything else is great. The boys have had great fun "fixing" both of their parents and themselves.

It's a pretty basic set, but it seems great for their age and skill levels. If you have an "under 3" and are looking for a medical playset, I'd definitely recommend this one.

interesting search engine
I am interested in the Fisher-Price Medical Kit that ToysRUs sells, but searches under "Medical Kit" or "medical" or "kit" only send you to this more expensive less interesting toy. The Fisher-Price web site sends you to this web site but once you are here you are encoraged to buy something else. Interesting search engine. The stars are for review submission purposes only.

2.5 Year old loves it but falling apart
Purchased in part b/c reviews suggested it was the sturdiest of the bunch. Neighbor has the alternative blue case and accessories.

My 2.5YO daughter loves this but cramming all the pieces into the case has finally broken the latch beyond repair. The toys are reasonably sturdy but the stethoscope doesn't fit ears well-she just wears it around her neck. (The other child's doctor kit actually transmits some amplified sounds but no electronic sound effects of coughing and thump-thump). The blood pressure unit doesn't go or stay on very well and falls apart. (But after quite a few tries re-assembling it has become part of the game).

Double the price but not double the quality of the blue one.

Great Kit!
My 3 yr old son just loves this kit, I shopped around for one with the best gadgets, and this one is very nice. The stethoscope is a little hard to keep on the ears, and it has to be packed just so to get the case to close, but I think it is definately a good purchase. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars I was amazed!
I bought this toy for my two-year old nephew for Christmas since he was so fascinated with watching his Dad mow. It turned out that there was another two-year old who was at our Christmas as well. My nephew wouldn't let go of this toy. He wouldn't even open up his other gifts! Between him and the other two-year old (a little girl) we had to do some negotiating to keep them from fighting over it. I was very impressed as I didn't expect him to like it very much - he gets tons of toys (we spoil him!)! But it was clearly his favorite toy. I highly recommend it!

5-0 out of 5 stars The love of my son's life
My son LOVES this toy. We had bought a Fisher Price lawn mower that couldn't even roll on real grass. This is sturdy enough that he can walk behind mommy or daddy while we mow the lawn. He is just obsessed with this toy. Highly recommended!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Entertainment
I am purchasing the mower for my 15 month old son. He used his 3 year old cousins non stop on our vacation. It is so cleaver. It talks to you and makes these neat mower sounds just like daddy's mower. He wore himself out every night with this thing. His cousin still plays with it too. I think that the minimum age is a not correct. My son had no problems figuring out this toy and having a great time.

5-0 out of 5 stars Where have our manners gone?
My son was given this mower as a first birthday gift. It is easy for him to push around however I am amazed with the so called "fun phrases". Mike The Mower belches several times and at one point belches and says "oh, was that me"? Disgusting. Not what I want to be teaching my 1 year old.

5-0 out of 5 stars A great great toy!!
I just read a review here that said it does not have an off button, my 18 month old son found it right away, he turned it over and loves to turn it off and on. It is a great toy and very very durable, my son is now 2 and still plays with it hard. It is also popular during playgroup, it usually causes a fight, everyone wants to play it and my son doesn't want to share. ... Read more

Busy little hands will discover plenty of projects to completewith this sturdy, pintsize workhorse. Less than 2 feet tall, it standseasily on the floor or on a table. The tan pounding bench has five holesinto which young carpenters can pound two chunky plastic nails or securetwo colorful screws hidden under the bench's flip top. Easy-grip plasticscrewdriver, hammer, and wrench also store under the pounding bench, oryou can hang them on pegs. 1-0 out of 5 stars Tipsy Tool Bench
After a few months, I put our workhorse out with the garbage collection. The item was entirely too tipsy. Not flimsy - it is well made, but if your child leans on it, over it goes. So out it went. Don't recommend this item - get something with a square top so that it is secure - the A frame on this toy is a very bad design.

1-0 out of 5 stars not worth it
This toy should be a lot sturdier than it is. It frustrates me and my toddler because it constantly falls down. It isn't a very interesting toy because there are many toys on the market that intrigue toddlers much more. I do not recommend this toy!

1-0 out of 5 stars Avoid this toy!
This workshop appeared to be a great toy but it will not stay open. Whoever created this toy did a very bad job. It needs something to keep it open otherwise a soon as your child plays with it, it'll fall over. Look for something else!

1-0 out of 5 stars Fun toy for creative play
Bought this toy for my son 1 1/2 year old son. He loves it. unlike other reviewers we have not had a problem with it staying up or with the legs collapsing. I have a large boy and he even climbs on it without a problem or injury. this toy is durable, in nice bright colors and fun to play with. My son was frustrated at first because the screws would not push in or pull out as easily as the nails but he soon got the hang of the turning function. Now he spends time moving the screws and nails from hole to hole and uses the diffent tools for banging on everything he can. Lots of fun at a good price.

1-0 out of 5 stars Great Toy
My son got this for Christmas... At first it kept tipping over and along with a lot of the other reviews, i was getting frustrated. But then realized that if i pulled hard enough the legs lock into place and problem solved. My son likes the hammer and nails the best! ... Read more

Editorial Review

Why should Dad have all the fun of working with a good set of power tools? In this entertaining and impressively comprehensive set of gear from Home Depot, kids can get in on some of the hardware action. It features over 70 different pieces including circular saw, metal grinder, power drill, air wrench, screwdriver, pliers, wrenches, and a hammer. Each tool is soft and plastic so safety should not be a concern (although the set presents a great opportunity to have a talk about proper handling of tools). Many of the tools play sounds and flash lights, adding to the fun. A big plastic work bench in the set requires some adult assembly. This set is a bit of a battery hog, requiring 11 AA batteries, five of which are included. We liked the wide variety offered in this set, which is comprehensive enough to keep hardware-minded kids entertained for quite a while. --Charlie Williams ... Read more

Here's a realistic toy chainsaw, made of sturdy orange plasticwith a black handle and a blue knuckle guard. The "blade" is made ofsilver-colored plastic and has a kid-safe plastic chain. The chainsawhas three blue buttons. One press-type button makes an engine-y sort ofnoise that is truly loud and could be very satisfying for the would-belogger. Luckily it stops on its own after about five seconds. So doesthe trigger-type button on the handle that makes the chain on the blademove while making more saw-like sounds. This is where the realaction of the toy is, and it sounds very much like a real chainsaw. Thistoy has some nice heft, but it isn't too heavy for a preschooler. Itrequires two AA batteries (included). --M. Sullivan ... Read more

tooo loud
My son loves the toy, however it appears that the toy is too loud for indoor play, I would recommend that this toy be played outdoors.

Great toy
My 2 year old got this for xmas. He plays with it nearly every day. It has not needed new batteries yet (5 months)It is quiet, too.

Great Toy
My four year old son loves his Home Depot Chainsaw. He loves to go to Home Depot with dad, so he was very happy to get the Home Depot Chainsaw for Christmas. It sounds real, and he usually ends up fighting over it with my Two year old daughter.

Watch Out Paul Bunyon
Hello,

I purchased this toy for my girl friends sons birthday. Since then I haven't seen him but, I can HEAR HIM!! He took to this toy like a duck to water, sawing everything in sight. Never mind that a twister is on the rampage, a volcano is exploding, a hurricane is looming, nope, so long as he has his trusty Homedepot Chain Saw, the world will be safe!

So, what I'm getting at here is, he LOVES this toy!!! So much for the telletubbies in his bed, he now has a NEW sleepy mate that kicks some serious booty. Oh, and one more thing worth mentioning, the saw DOES have an On-Off switch located on the bottom of it so, when YOU need some REST from all the sawing, you can flip the switch and but the saw to sleep.

Trust me here, if you have a son that is even REMOTELY interested in power tools(and what boy ain't) then this toy is the right choice and the right price.

Ciao!!

Chainsaw fun for the whole family!
This was a Christmas present that never made it under the tree because my son discovered it and he wouldn't part with it long enough for me to wrap it. He totes it around all over the place. I have to admit, I had a little trouble with giving him a chainsaw. He thinks it's funny to crank 'er up and pretend to saw on daddy's arms and legs (in part because daddy screams and flails about as if he were losing his appendanges, much to the chagrin of mommy) but didn't all well-adjusted, productive members of society have childhoods filled with pretend carnage? (Think Looney Tunes and cap guns.) As for the chainsaw, it's noisy, for sure, but so much fun it stands out as a favorite. ... Read more
