peice of crap
(...) THIS TOY IS CRAP. I would not recimend this toy for any body.I bought this toy for my son and it was broken after the first day.I think they should call this toy the crap mobil.(...).I am 21 so it will say that I am 4 but that is how old my son is.

GREAT TOY!!
We received this for our daughter's 1st birthday and she LOVES it!! At first we thought she wouldn't be able to ride it yet since she isn't walking, but she had no problems. This is a GREAT toy and I would HIGHLY recommend it.

Cool Toy!
I just bought this toy for my 21 month old and she loves it...the only thing I wish it had was reverse because she always runs it into things and I have to turn her around or help her back it up...also definitely buy a helmet at the very least because it jerks on initial take-off and if your child isn't holding on well they could easily fall backwards off this unit...the best part of this toy is the ease of use and access of the power button for young children and the stability, even if your child has a little trouble getting on or off the quad doesn't tip over.

Excellent!
We bought this for my daughter's 1st birthday and she loves it!!! She gets right on, pushes the "go" button and she is off. Wonderful item!!! We also purchased the Barbie helmet for safety. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Toy
I bought this for my one-year old tomorrow grandson and he loves it! It's much more stable for him than his other stand up walker, and he is able to get over the threshold dividers between rooms, which he couldn't do with his other walker. He has no problem scooping up the blocks on my hardwood floors - - just have to push further. He also thinks it's funny when he scoops up a cat toy instead of a block. Highly recommend this item, great value!

5-0 out of 5 stars My son's favorite toy
We bought the hippo for our son when he was 6 months old. He is now a year and he still loves it. He pushes it all over the place. When he was first learning to stand/walk, this helped him. He was so proud of himself because he could walk with it's help. I am going to buy this for all of my friend's babies! Highly recommended.

5-0 out of 5 stars OK....but better if picked up blocks
My son received this for his 1st Birthday...he liked the blocks more than the Hippo. It doesn't pick up the blocks on the wood floor. My 4 yr old tried it on the carpet...and he was only able to get it to pick up 1 block. It is OK, but after seeing it's lack of performance...I wouldn't buy it. The Wagon in this series is much more fun.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent!
We just bought this for our son who will turn 9 months in just two days. He has been cruising the furniture for a few weeks already and as soon as I brought this out, he was taking his first steps forward (w/the help of the hippo) within five minutes. It was so cute to see him take those first awkward steps forward! :-> Also, I have to agree w/what another reviewer said about Fisher-Price making the best quality toys. In my younger days, I worked for a couple years in a toy store and the one thing I vowed after working there is that I would always buy Fisher-Price toys for my kids because the quality is so much better. We almost never got returns on Fisher-Price toys, but some of the return rates on other brands are as high as 75%! And, all the recall notices we would get for other brands are also scary! Really scary because most of the parents who buy those toys never realize there was a recall. Not saying that Fisher-Price is perfect, but they certainly are at another level when it comes to safety and quality. Now that we have a son, almost all his toys are Fisher-Price or LeapFrog and we have not had any problems w/those brands.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great toy!
My son received this for his first birthday and loves it. My three year old also loves it and they fight over this a lot. It is very sturdy to push for beginner walkers and also fun to ride on. The only negative to this toy is that it doesn't pick up blocks very well on hard surfaces. It is best used on carpet for that reason but it is still fun without picking up the blocks. ... Editorial Review

Getting young children interested in toy trains is a wonderful way to teach as well as to have a lot of fun. By playing with train sets, young minds learn how to fit things together, how transportation works, how cities and communities are created, all the while enhancing their imagination through pretend play. This sizable and table kit features a smooth, easy to clean melamine surface on the top with convenient storage compartment underneath. The 83-piece train set sports a wide variety of train cars plus buses, police cars, dump trucks, and other vehicles to operate on the pieces of road, which are included in addition to the track. Filling stations, gates, buildings, bridges, and other modular components add to the magic. Since all the pieces fit together so handily, young train enthusiasts can spend hours designing their own sprawling networks and configurations. We liked how complete this set is and how handily it all stores when playtime is done. Compatible with Thomas the Tank Engine and Brio train sets. --Charlie Williams ... Read more

Just like the real front loaders you might see working along the highway, the Mighty Front Loader was designed to dig, dump, and haul. With its large working bucket, deep-cleated tires, and heavy-duty steel construction, this solid truck is guaranteed for life and built for endless hours of fun in the sandbox or yard. Two handles let you control the angle of the work bucket so you can dig or dump sand and dirt, or move rocks around. Or you can set the bucket in a middle position when you want to haul things for a while without holding the handle. The cab and engine sections swivel, making it easy to steer the front loader to where the work is. The large wheels (4.5-inch diameter) have been mounted over strong steel axles, tested for up to 50 pounds. Realistically styled, the front loader measures 22 inches long by 8 inches wide by 9.5 inches high. --Chris Burns ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars LOTS OF FUN FOR BOYS AND GIRLS!
I PURCHASED THIS TOY FOR MY 2.5 YR OLD SON AND HE IS HAVING A BALL WITH IT!I THINK HE LIKES THIS TOY BECAUSE IT LOOKS JUST LIKE THE REAL ONES HE SEES ON THE ROAD.IT'S TOUGH BUT LIGHTWEIGHT AND EASY FOR LITTLE ONES TO PICK UP.IT ALSO HAS WORKING PARTS WHICH AIDS IN MANUAL DEXTERITY AND IMAGINATIVE PLAY.I APPRECIATE THAT THIS TOY HAS A LIFETIME WARRANTY AGAINST MANUFACTURAL DEFECTS SO I KNOW MY CHILD WILL HAVE THE BENEFIT OF THIS TOY FOR A LONG TIME TO COME!

2-0 out of 5 stars Too Much Plastic Too little metal
The front loader has too much plastic on it. 10 years ago it would have been made mainly of metal and very little plastic used. Of course today it is all about maximizing profits at the sake of durability. Steer Clear. There are still products like this made from metal on the market and I would rather pay a little extra for the quality. Obviously Tonka has lost touch with its customer base.

Buy it
These are the BEST toys in the world for kids who love transportation. I got this on special with the free dump truck and they have been all over the house, yard and even went on display for show and tell in grade K. All the kids love it.

If this is on special with the free dump truck as it is several times then don't hesitate get two and save it for a birthday gift. Both girls and boys love 'em. Great buy.

Built Tonka Tough
What a great toy! Talk about imagination! And then again, there's the Tonka quality. This guy gets slammed around quite a bit and still looks brand new. Plus, it's great imaginative fun in the sandbox and in the house. Don't pass this one up!

YESSSSSSS!

5-0 out of 5 stars So much Fun
We have this car for my Grandson who is 1 yr old. He has so much fun with it, we have a hard time getting him to get off. He learned how to make it move very quickly. The wheels could be alittle more heavy duty for driving in the grass and on gravel.
I think the size of the car is more suited for 1 to a small 2 year old. 3 year olds would be to big to sit in the seat, unless they are unually small for their age.

3-0 out of 5 stars son loves but read before buying
My son and I absolutely love this car.He was so excited when he first got into it (he's 1).There are only two problems with it though- there is no on/off switch, so even when he's not in it he can press the button and make it go.Well that's not good because he rolled over his feet once and the second time he was leaning against it and pressed the button and it dragged him and caused him to fall. The other thing also is that the sides aren't high enough so he sticks his feet out of the sides. Also, if your child is tall (mine is 31 inches) they may not fit comfortable in the car.

5-0 out of 5 stars My Son Loves This Car!!
My son cruised around wal mart for about an hour in the tot rod before I actually decided to buy it for him for his birthday. He just turned 1 and absolutely loves it! I have to pry him out of it. He's the envy of all the neighborhood kids!!

4-0 out of 5 stars My Grandson Loves it!
My 15 month old grandson simply loves this toy. And though he doesn't "squeal" with the ride...he always insists on riding until the battery is very low!! I beleive he could ride it all day! Great toy...but it does take up quite a bit of space.

roller coaster
I got this for my 8 1/2 month old son, ,, he loves this, this is one of the few things that can hold his attention for more than 2 minutes and he crys to get in it...

Very disappointed. What a dull toy
You need to push a button near the bar in front in order to play the music. Keep in mind you must push it while the ride is going. Quite annoying. My 10 month old is just bored by it. From the start, he would just stare at me as it went in a circle and yawn. It was so "thrilling" that he fell asleep on it twice. Other children in the neighborhood (from 7 months to 2 years) have ridden it and also not liked it at all. To be blunt, I could not even give it away. For people interested in buying it, I would suggest waiting and getting the Perego train.

My son LOVES it!
My parents bought this for my 10 month old son for his upcoming birthday and of course, we couldn't wait to open it already... He loves it dearly... He loves ride-on toys and this is the best one of his little collection. He likes to go up and down the track and even waves "bye-bye" as he goes by. It was very easy for my husband to put it together... we couldn't wait to see him on it! Note: you do have to charge the battery for a minimum of 18 hours beforehand. Too bad they didn't have this toy at the store, so we ordered it online, which took a while. But I'm really glad that we got it, well worth it.

Music in Motion Roller Coaster
I bought this for my triplets when they were 10 months old. They all enjoy it so much. They are now 2 years old. They keep asking for the "car". Although, it is hard for them to share, they do get 5-10 min. increments on the "car". We keep it in a separate room, so they won't try to start it up when another is in the way. I think it is an excellant toy and one I would sincerely encourage parents to buy it for fun and entertainment. Not to mention they learn at about 1 1/2 years to operate it themselves. The seat belt is super for safety. ... Read more

!!!!!!TOY OF THE YEAR FOR OUR HOUSE!!!!!!!
I had shopped for a wagon and done all my home on every single one out there. I really wanted one that would fit my three girls 2, 4, and 5. Discovery Wagon by Radio Flyer is great. It has the no-tilt steering, and the storage compartment that fits anything you need. The removable sides are great for my young girls for easy in and out. I am a very picky shopper but this wagon is everything and more. Fits in my van with no problem. Removable sides make it so easy to tuck it away. We use this wagon for zoos, walks to the park, carnivals, or just for the kids to play around with. I highly recomend this wagon as Radio Flyer has a great reputation.

Great Wagon!!!
This is a really great wagon. We shopped around quite a bit before buying and this was our favorite! It is much quieter than the ones with plastic wheels and is easy to steer both on pavement and the grass. I would highly recommend this one.

Most expensive Plastic I¿ve ever bought
I bought this after reading many good reviews by customers (last time I listen to them). It is a very attractive looking wagon, easy to put together. However I was quite disappointed by the construction. The moving parts are made of either by plastic to plastic or plastic to metal contacts. Therefore, these parts will wear out fast. It is a good wagon, not worth [the price]. (...)

What a bargain!
I purchased this wagon as a Christmas (2003)gift for my then 15 month old granddaughter. We filled it with toys and put it under the tree for her. It was the best thing I ever bought for her - worth ever penny. She has enjoyed it so much. Now that spring is here we have enjoyed our outdoor time as well. She loves being pulled in it or climbing in and out and pulling it herself. We live at the beach so I can see it is going to come in very handy this summer. I would HIGHLY recommend this product. I can already see that it will be used for years to come.

check the size dimensions first
One thing you should keep in mind before buying a wagon like this one is the dimensions. It's huge, basically as large as a whole bath tub.

It maybe isn't the best size for pulling around a baby under a year old, and of course it isn't small enough for a baby to push around him or herself after learning to walk. It really is meant for carting around toddlers only. ... Read more

This classic is still spinnin' after all these years--and now it's better than ever. The Sit 'n Spin we all know and love has been spruced up for the new millennium with flashing lights and fun tunes. Just press any of the four buttons on the handle, and you're spinning to one of six classic tunes. Sure, it may be a little snazzier than you remember (thanks to the new colors), but the goal remains the same: hours of dizzying enjoyment. Your kids will love taking this whirling wonder for a spin just as much as you'll enjoy watching them. 1-0 out of 5 stars I think this toy is a bunch of crap & false advertisement
My son received this toy the other day on his 2nd birthday. I think I was more excited than he was about receiving it. I had always wanted to get him one, but never got around to it. All I can say is I'm glad I didn't waste my own money on this. What really gets me is that it says from 18 months to 5 years old. Yeah...RIIIIIIIIIGHT. There's no 18 month old that can understand the concept of how to turn this thing. It took me awhile to figure out why the wheel wasn't turning. Come to find out, it's like the teacup rides at Disney World. The wheel doesn't turn, everything else turns around it. Well I wish they had said that on the box rather than "Turn the wheel to start the spinning action". What a load of crap. Also, like I said, my son just turned 2. He's a big 2, but he's no bigger than a 4 or 5 year old. So there's no way that a 4 or 5 year old can get on this comfortably. I have to agree, the music IS annoying especially cause I had to disassemble it to get the music to stop. It really upsets me that I have to take this back to the store because I was so excited for my son when he opened his gift. This is definitely a toy that I would avoid buying if your kid is less than 2 & a half years old or over 4 years old. Oh wow, I guess then it would really only be good for 3 YEAR OLDS!!! WHAT A PIECE OF CRAP!!! DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY...PLEASE.

P.S. I only gave it one star because it wouldn't let me give it negative stars.

1-0 out of 5 stars Still fun after all these years!
Sit N' Spin is still a great toy! Durable, easy to clean, and fun for a wide range of ages. My daughter got this as a gift at age 4 or 5, and she still plays with it at age 6. Yes, the "rockin' tunes" are annoying for parents (my husband HATES the music), but we solved this by making Sit N' Spin "basement or outside only" toy. Ours has even survived getting wet on the light panel.

1-0 out of 5 stars fun toy, annoying noise
Our 23-month-old daughter got hers. As a number of reviewers noted, the music is loud and annoying and does not come with an off switch (though it'll turn off after a while, and one can just not press the top of the Sit 'n Spin which turns it on, but the child of course WILL press it). She didn't seem to like the music either--she asked me to take the batteries out. But I found a nice arrangement: I cut one of the wires leading to the speaker (they're easy to see when you open up the battery compartment) and now it has flashing lights, which she likes, and no noisy music, which everybody dislikes. (Why they couldn't put a in slider switch for it, I don't know--it would probably add two cents to production costs.) A bonus is that I assume that with the speaker wires the 3 AA batteries will last for a long time--four red LEDs don't take much power!

Anyway, it took her a bit of time to get the hang of spinning herself, and she does like it. She's not utterly enthusiastic, but it clearly IS fun and looks good for motor development. And today she was entertaining her toy puma with it, so it looks like she can use it for imaginative play, too.

All in all, decent but not outstanding. It probably all depends on the child's interests.

1-0 out of 5 stars It's an okay toy.
I bought the rockin' tunes sit and spin for my son and he loves. He was 17 months old when he got it and it took about 2 weeks for him to figure it out. He's now almost two and this is still one of his favorite toys and he plays with almost everyday. He loves to push the top to make the music and lights come on. I do not like this toy much myself. Amazon describes it as playing 9 different songs but it only plays 6. The songs it does play are not any of the ones in the description. The music is very loud and annoying after a while. I think Amazon put the same description from the classic sit and spin on this one. (...)

1-0 out of 5 stars Love it!!
I purchased this for my 23 mo. old girl for her "new room", and this is her favorite toy she has EVER had! She spins by herself for a bit, then she wants me to spin her so she can go a little faster. When she edges off to the floor, she giggles and says "more". It's usually the first thing she runs to in her room. It's also fun for my 5 yr old boy to spin on. Another game with it is to put dolls and animals on it and spin them (not very fast) to see who stays on the longest. I don't think my little girl cares about the lights and maybe even the music right now. She just likes to go, go, go. It does seem a little easy to tip. Give ample clearance from the wall. Good price for spinning fun. ... Read more

Caleb loves it
My son (3 yo) has had this for about 8 months now and still loves it. Whenever his friends come over to play, they all inevitably end up inside the toy and take other toys in to play with. It is fairly durable and has been fought over and pulled from room to room many times. If your child loves Thomas, this is a good (if fairly large) toy to have.

Kids LOVE it!
I have not had the bad experience as the customers below. My son got it a year ago when he turned 3 and my daughter was 1 and they both love it. So does the kids that come over to play. Now a year later and they still love it, also it's still in great shape. I am now getting it for a friends son. I find that it's easy to fold up, although the kids don't leave it like that very long.

This tent is AWESOME!!!
My husband and I ordered this for my daughter's 2nd birthday. Let's just say she doesn't come out of it much. She Loves It!!! It is so cute and worth every penny. She has gotten so many hours of enjoyment out of it. She likes to take her books and her Thomas trains in there as well. If your child loves Thomas, they will love the tent.

HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED
I bought this for my 14-month old because he likes to crawl under tables, chairs, etc. I couldn't believe my eyes when I opened it - what a piece of GARBAGE!!! It is made of some paper-like product (like a Bounty paper towel) and it smells horrible. My son had ink all over his fingers after playing in it for just a few minutes. I am definitely returning this item. How annoying that the material of this product is nowhere to be found on the box or in the online description.

Great fun, but....
OK, my son loves Thomas. He really, really loves this starter set. STARTER SET! I had tried to avoid the whole Thomas thing because it is kind of a money pit, but my husband said, "it's just a train, he won't need any more than this" - famous last words. Truth is - he loves it, he plays with it, he wants all of it, every accessory, every car - EVERYTHING!!! It is another in the long line of toys that require fifty additional purchases at 30 bucks a pop - but it is durable, fun and has alot of repeat play value - and collectibility. Someday we can sell it all on eBay! :)

A great educational toy
This was bought this for my little boy at 18months and whilst he was fascinated he hadn't yet developed the patience to use it as probably intended. As such the pieces were often pulled apart or he got frustrated when pieces were knocked out of line. However, the train going under/over the bridge proved an enormous attraction.
Now, a year later it is coming into his own and he constantly plays with his 'Choo Choo truck'. He has learned how to move around the track and keep it in one piece, pretend to start and stop, make various noises and generally capture his attention for at least an hour at a time. He is also keen to get me to play with him at the same time.
So:
An excellent educational toy as evidenced by his use over the past year. It has encouraged hand/eye, patience, construction, imagination and sharing his track with others.
It is great fun to play with. There is a great variety of colours, actions, etc. etc. for my son.
Its only minor issue is durability, particularly when used by a very young child. The pieces do last, but become a little battered around the edges. If you have a table then this can be minimised, but if it's set up on the floor it inevitably gets taken apart and pieces go under sofas etc. etc
Nevertheless, I cannot rate this too highly as both a fun toy and an educational means. And, you can buy all the extra bits to make a truly great train set.

A lot of fun.
I brought this toy for my 3 year old daughter after, a little boy I knew liked Thomas. We went to his house and there was Thomas stuff everywhere. Well she fell in love it. And when ever we go to his house all she wants to do is play with his trains. So I got her her own.

W e Love Thomas!!!
My son got this train set for his 2nd birthday. At first I wasnt sure if he was old enough to enjoy it.After we watched a few Thomas videos he totally fell in love with it and all the Thomas characters!!!We play with it everyday and I think it is safe to say that it is his favorite.I wanted him to have a train and this one is great because his grandmother can add to it for specail occasions!!!With all the different engines/vehicles and locations it will be something to collect for years to come!!!!

Great for 18 months to ages 8 or 9!
We bought this set for our son when he was 18 months old. He immediately loved it. Three years later, he has enough track and cars to occupy our entire dining room table. He plays trains every day--no kidding.

The Thomas train collections are durable toys. Their real value, though, is that playing with the toys allows children to act out the great Thomas and Friends children's stories they read and watch.

Purchasing recommendation:
* Choose which type of Thomas trains you will 'standardize' on. There are three kinds: This size of wooden trains from Learning Curve; larger, plastic, battery-operated trains from Tomy; and smaller, die-cast metal trains from Ertl. The wooden trains have the most products and accessories available.

* The clickety-clack (grooved to look like real railroad) track in the Thomas series is great, but it's expensive; ...

* Buy the Thomas and friends engines separately--and wait for sales. The kids care about the characters, so no short-cutting (ie., Brio or generic trains) here.

* Look for trains bundled with VHS videos. You can get a video and a train (on sale) for about what a train costs all by itself. ... Read more

J.C. joy
My son is only 2 years old and he loves his motorcycle. This toy was the only thing that came close to being like a real motorcycle. The only complaint was that one of the back motors went bad, but so far the company has been working with me to get it replaced. My son has learned how to steer and how to control the bike very well. J.C. loves his kawasaki!!!
Thank you power wheels we hope to see a different model next year!!

Correction (...)
(...) Those side wheels are where the motors are connected. The regular front and back motorcycle wheels do not have motors on them. The plastic side wheels will wear quickly. There is a guy on ebay that sells rubber slip-ons to give these power wheel toys more traction. Definitely recommend. As far as complexity of assembly. This was one of the easier to assemble products I've done. Took an hour at the most. Some of the Cap nuts are a little challengine to hammer. I would recommend a couple of bricks or pieces of wood for backing up one end while hammering the other.

Tip: The battery charger comes stored under the seat when first purchased. I thought mine was missing when I opened the box.

my 2 year old loves this
I bought this for my 2 1/2 yr old son and he loves it. This is really a nice built toy. Putting this together is of med difficulty, I suggest doing it at night for your kids will want to ride it when it is done, but you'll need to charge the battery. If its dark out the will be more likely to understand why they can't ride it yet. The battery needs to charge 14-16 hours right out of the box and after every use(says the instructions). I charge it almost every night for my son rides every day. We have had it over a month and he still lights up when he gets on it. The only thing you will have to really teach your kids is to get on from the side the peddle is not on. My son got on the other side once and it took off and he stayed put.It scared him good and I then made sure he only gets on the other side(it took a day of reminders). This bike goes pretty fast on the high speed setting, fast enough where I have to walk really fast to keep up. I put the high speed on right from the start. There is a throttle that controls the high speed and the foot is the low speed. The foot needs to be pressed in order for the throttle to activate the high speed and my 2yr old picked this up instantly. He only drives fast so I bought a dirtbike helmut like daddy's for him to wear.Overall this is the best money spent in his 2 1/2 years. I mean that. When he first rode this he had tears of joy in his eyes. I felt like the best dad in the world.Buy your kid this toy if he loves dirtbikes. You will not be disappointed.

BEST PURCHASE YET!!!!
My son is 34months old (not quite 3) and LOVES, LOVES, LOVES this "dirt bike". He rides it everyday and we keep an extra battery on charge at all times, which works out perfectly. He figured out the hand throttle without even being shown, and has started to do "tricks". Several neighbors have stopped to watch him zing around the yard and comment on how amazingly cute it is. Educational? You bet - teaches coordination, care of owning something, etc.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS FOR ANY MOTORCYCLE LOVING KID!!!

Favorite toy!
This birthday present is a -huge- success for 3yr old son. Have had this for over a month now and is still by far his favorite. Each time he jumps on this I'm impressed at the style and quality of this cycle. Was very skeptical that he would have a control issue and I'd be involved w/full-time supervision. Not the case. Since controls are so easy and it's got a handle bar vs a steering wheel he controls this with ease. The neighbors jeep ride-on toys are much harder to control because of small steering wheel, poor turning radius and child is confined inside vehicle. This is so durable my wife even jumps on this thing and takes it around the cul-de-sac. My double-car garage is packed with various toys and this is by far the favorite. Bikes, pedal tractors, trikes all take back burner to this. I would shop no further and buy this Kawasaki at any price. ... Read more

Expensive, but great quality
I was really torn over whether this table justified it's price; especially since it doesn't include the play top, which you have to buy seperately. Despite the price, I do have to say, I'm very happy with the quality of the product.

When the table arrived the box was dinged, but thankfully the contents inside were well packed with styrofoam and cardboard protecting each piece.

The wood is high quality with easy to connect fastners. Very stable. The train images on the side of the table and on the legs are great. They weren't stickers, but actually some kind of high quality painted image that has a very durable finish on it. Some of the train images even have a full plastic face piece for Thomas and each of his friends.

The table is well designed for a toddler's height and the allows them to reach to the center.

Needless to say my 2 year old son loves it! He wakes up in the morning, says choo choo and runs out to go play at the table.

Not a sturdy table
My sister in law bought this table for her 2 yr old son for Xmas....it is way overpriced for what it is....i wanted to buy one for our sons but could not see spending that much money on such a cheap table. So my husband ended up buying plans to build your own train table and built our sons their own with built in drawers and (...) and it is way nicer and sturdier than the Thomas one. Yes they can all stand on it...! We painted it in Thomas colors and decorated it and it is the nicest looking table i have ever seen and all the kids love it!!!! you can build one in about 8 hrs or so....worth it!!! this will be handed down to the next generations...

Substitute for the table/frame/
We admired the table for really long time and saw that it's worth spending money but decided to figure out smth cheaper. So we painted our old coffee table almost the same Thomas blue color and attached the board to it. Our 2year son loves it and doesn't really care if it's the same table/frame/or not. We spray painted the table and hope it will work for a long while.

AWESOME TABLE!
Toys r us had a super deal where you buy the table and get the top free. With the price being so high, we feel we got a GREAT deal. My son loves this table. We got for him for his 2nd birthday. It was simple to put together and is so durable. Not like the other cheap pine/particle board tables you see. The graphics are so bright and my son is always pointing to the sides and saying choo choo. Great investment.

Expensive - but worth the money for it's durability
I umm and aahh about spending this sort of money on a train table for my children but after doing my homework I decided this is the one I would buy.

Other train tables I have seen in stores are often wonky and seem quite unstable - and this is after they've been played on in the stores. So after seeing poorer quality tables for similar prices I decided to save up for the Thomas branded one (also bought the one-sided play table board to go with it).

Yes, it's expensive, but as with all any "brand", it's the name you are paying for. If you want a Thomas collection of trains and accessories you are going to have to pay. I'm just starting our collection and am buying the "Thomas" trains and buildings, but found a compatible generic track for less than half the price. I was lucky enough to get this table at almost half price at a after Christmas sale. It's worth waiting for sales and price comparing.

Having said all that - we have found the table to be excellent. It's at the right height for all our children (4, 3 and 1 year old) and me when I'm sitting on the floor playing with them. There is also plenty of room underneath to have some good sized storage containers for all your pieces of train track and other accessories.

The table frame is packed very well to protect the 3D train faces that are on two sides of the table. It's beautifully painted and when it's put together is extremely strong (although I wouldn't recommend standing on it).

Now that we have this table I no longer have to nag the kids about getting their train tracks off the lounge room floor, they can leave their "town" up for days until they want to change it. We also have a great table for their other car/train sets, or Little People towns or Duplo Creations.

It's up to you to spend to decide if you want to spend this sort of money but I see this as something I won't ever have to replace and it's something my son can keep for his children. Toys like this will last! ... Read more

misunderstood toy; great when you follow the directions
It is funny to see one parent saying that her 1 year old's feet can't touch the "petals" (smirk) when the intended age is 18 months and up. Another funny thing is to see how many parents say the "parental" handle doesn't lock in place--I got news for you it does!! All you have to do is put the yellow pin which locks the handle in place in "rocker" mode behind the handle when it is in "parent" mode. Our two year old loves this and enjoys rocking, riding, and pushing the parent handle. He hasn't quite caught on using the pedals because his feet get in the way but hey, that's what two year olds do. :) I see this as a long term learning toy to help our son transition to a bike later on. It was a very smart purchase. Lots of stores have them to try out--go decide for yourself.

great toy
i just bought this for my 2 year old daughter and she loves it. wherever we go this toy has to come. It has a place for little ones who are not quite big enough to ride on there own to put there feet up while mommy pushes them around, and while we are at home she loves the rocker. This is a great toy.

Great for Grandma's House as they will get years of use
We have three of these as each of my boys received one for their first birthday and I think they are great. The only problem is I wish they were all at the same house - two are by their Grandparents 3000 miles away while my three fight over the one we have at home. Makes we want to go buy one or two more. My six year old still loves to ride it even though he has moved onto a big boy bike because he can really zoom around the corners without getting nervous. The little foot rest doesn't do much but not a huge problem. Found that it worked best in the rocking mode when off the carpet. The handle is great as not only am I able to push them but they push each other. It really manuvers well. My almost 2 year old tries to pedal it but is not quite big enough so he just zooms around with foot power. All in all a great toy that after 5 years of constant use shows no signs of "decay" - how many toys can you say that about?

Fun fo Less the Price
I wanted to buy my daugther a more expensive Trike, but my husband I could not see paying over 80 dollars for a Trike she would outgrow. So we bought this trike and boy I'm glad we did. Our daughter likes the fact there is a foot rest since she is too young to petal and we love the stearing rod even though it is some times tough to use....but I'm still getting use to it. We also like the fact if we have another child it can turn into a rocker. Plus it is very durable. We have rolled it in grass, concrete, sand, etc... and the wheels are in like new condition along with all the other parts. Very Happy with this product!

WONDERFUL FIRST TRIKE!!!
We never used this as a rocker, my son, now almost 2 got this last Xmas, and LOVES it! Only downfall, my son zooms around the carport on it, and it tips frequently, so just be close to catch if it falls~ A great first trike~ ... Read more

If you cross a red car with a plastic boat and combine the result withone of those big Victorian baby carriages, you get this entirely novel mode oftot transportation. This little car--32 inches long by 18 inches wide, andriding on 7-inch plastic wheels--has an integral plastic seat 9 inches off theground and can be powered by two little feet through the hole in the floor.Alternatively, raise the bandshell-style yellow nylon hood and push yourpreschooler around using the 38-inch-high metal handle that sticks up frombehind. The "cockpit" is fully equipped with steering wheel, beeping "horn," anignition key that turns, a gear shift, and various battery-powered soundeffects. Adult assembly is required. --Richard Farr ... Love!
My daughter got this on her 1st. birthday.
We both love it, and we get alot of attention and smiles as we walk around the neighborhood.
It steers nicely, like the canopy on the sunny days.
Nice buy, you'll get a big, "WWWWOOOOOOOOWWWW!!!"

Seatbelt suggestion.......
My son received this car as a first birthday present from his grandparents. It's adorable, and is a great alternative to the traditional Cozy Coupe, which is a little too big for younger toddlers. He loves the sounds, the steering wheel, and likes to pull the canopy top up. The car is narrow enough to drive all over our small ranch home -- it goes through doorways and our baby gate very well. As a taller mommy, I appreciated that the handle on the back can be height adjusted (three or four height settings, I'm not sure which)-- it makes pushing the toy much easier when you don't have to hunch over to do it!
The only concern I have about this car is the lack of a seatbelt. My son attempted to stand up and nearly fell out of the car (thankfully on carpet). Before I dared take him outside in the car, I knew that something had to be done to secure him into the seat. Not wanting to damage the toy too severely, I surfed the Little Tikes website for some kind of replacement seat belt that I could adapt for use with this toy. There is a replacement belt for the "toddler high back swing" available for just a few dollars. After a trip to Toys R Us to confirm that the belt could actually work on the Cozy Convertible, I order the belt (and a spare). I drilled two small slats on either side of the seat, carefully removed the uneven edges with a utility knife, and PRESTO! installed the seat belt. Because the belt is the type that doesn't have to loop all of the way around the back, it was very easy to install, and it looks just like it was always meant to be there. (The advantage of buying the Little Tikes belt is that it's yellow and blue, just like the trim on the car). I probably won't remove the belt later...maybe we can use it as a seat belt safety lesson ("Don't ride in the car unless your belt is fastened").
My son can now enjoy his "car rides" and mommy can enjoy them too, now that I know my little daredevil is securely fastened. Overall, this is a great toy for little ones.

MUST BE SOMETHING BETTER?!!!
We purchased the convertable car for our 2 year old and decided to put it together a little earlier than his upcomming birthday. Good for us! The first wheel we inserted was defective (was not able to secure to toy). The car wobbled as it moved. No seatbelt was another surprise. The plastic wheels are noisy, and damaged imediatly after riding over rocks (the rocks stick to the plastic; making for a much shorter life of the tire) The cute convertable shield is a HUGE blind spot for parents pushing the car. Dangerous. Should be a plastic mirror in the front for better safety. So many improvements are needed for this. Too bad. It was a cute looking little car. We're returning it for a rubber-wheeled wagon.

Missing a seat belt
I recently purchased a Deluxe Cozy Convertible™ Car for my son and was surprised to find it did not have a seat belt. I didn't think this would be a big issue because he seemed to love it and all of the bells and whistles kept him busy. He loved it and so did all of the neighborhood kids. During our fourth walk, he started fussing. The top was up so I couldn't see him. Before I could look in to check him, I ran over the yellow bottom of the car. He was gripping the inside with his hands and feet. His butt was on the sidewalk. I can't imagine what could have happened if he wasn't hanging on for dear life. I don't know if the bottom was in right at the start of our walk, but a seat belt probably would have helped. Since our accident, I have tied a rope from one side to the other in the car and he still loves to ride in it. It is a good toy. It just needs a seat belt. He is also at the stage where he tries to climb out if he sits still for too long. If this has happened to anyone else, please e-mail Little Tikes. Honestly, this would be a perfect car if it had a seat belt.

Baby loves it--but needs a seatbelt!
My 13 1/2 month old received this for his 1st birthday abd absolutely loves being pushed around in it. The car is absolutely adorable, it is quite durable as I have taken it several times on a 3-mile walk with the baby and he has a constant smile being driven around in it.

My only concern about the vehicle is that it does not have a seat belt thus sometimes the baby leans over to touch the wheels of the car when in motion which can make any parent nervous, thus you have to stop until he sits back up, etc. ... Read more

Nice picture making for an easier puzzle
My 2 year old daughter has this puzzle and thinks its wonderful.

Unlike many puzzles, with just one character on it, the picture is brilliant having lots of different trains, etc on it. It is easy to fit togehter, with parts of a different character or scene on every piece. She can easily put Thomas, the sheds, Harold, etc together thus eventually making the whole puzzle.

This is by far her favourite puzzle. For one, it's Thomas! And for 2, it's well-made and 'easy' to work out how to put together.

Most Beloved Toy
My son who just turned 4 years old in December received this for Christmas. I'm amazed at the beauty and durability of the pieces. He put it together about three times (with help) the first time we opened it! I never seen him so excited about a toy and to my greater surprise--a puzzle! Each time he placed a new piece in (sometimes with my assistance and sometimes not), he'd ask me to turn around and then ask me to look. When I looked I praised him for his accomplishment and he squealed with excitement. He literally jumped up and down almost after each piece was placed! He told me this was his favorite gift for Christmas and believe me he had quite a few more that were more expensive. I'll be buying more Thomas puzzles from this company in the near future as I'm very impressed.

Easy enough for young kids to solve by themselves
My son and I have been doing puzzles together since he was two, but most of the puzzles that claim to be for kids are too complicated or have pieces that are a little too small for him to work with; so he usually "helps" me by talking with me as I do the puzzle and occasionally placing a piece. He likes this big Thomas puzzle because, at age 4, he can do it all by himself. The pieces are big, which not only makes it easier to grasp and manipulate, but easier to comprehend the shape and the picture pattern as well. Of course, he likes that it is Thomas, and he even likes the "cool" box it comes in.

So this puzzle has a lot of replay value, because whenever we start a puzzle session, he will eventually move to this one to show mommy and me that he can do it all by himself, and that makes him feel good.

4-0 out of 5 stars Big, bright puzzle
My son has enjoyed this puzzle since he was 3! It features a bright picture of his favorite engines. The pieces are large and easy to handle- perfect for a younger child who loves puzzles. It has been great for spacial learning. My son would put this together, again and again. He is almost 5 now and still plays with this. The pieces have lasted for almost 2 years and still look new! (They are a heavy cardboard.) ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Ride-On Toy Tractor!!!
My husband and I purchased this tractor for our 2 year old son. He loves it, it keeps him busy for hours driving it all around our house. It was very easy for him to learn how to drive it when he first got it. Now its all he wants to do is go outside to ride his tractor!

5-0 out of 5 stars angry 3 year old
We purchase the john deer power pull for our 3 yr old son 2 months ago, and he has only been able to ride it maybe 1 month, we have already exchanged the product once and it is not running again! how disappointing for our son who loved this at first and now says "I am angry my tractor doesn't work AGAIN" when calling the company for parts it usually is an automatic 20 to 30 min. wait to talk and they wouldn't resolve an exchange so we went back to were we bought the product I do not recommend this product because all the problems (fenders, wiring harness shifter, 2 pins, weight on front, wheel, and same is happening to 2nd one) and this is all riding on an acre of level ground.

5-0 out of 5 stars One tough little tractor
We bought this for our 30 month old daugher about a month ago at Walmart. This tractor is smaller than some of the other ride on toys and my daughter fits it really well.

Assembly was straightforward. The decals are nicely done and it's worth taking the time to get them right.

I purchased a spare battery with the tractor thinking that the batteries running down would be a problem. It turns out the spare battery is much larger than the one that comes in the tractor (12Ah vs 8Ah) and I suspect is sized for the JD Gator ride on. Fortunately, the battery compartment is designed to accomodate either battery. The battery life with the large battery is great. She rides the tractor every day all over our farm, picking up sticks from the yard, following the dog, helping her mom move gravel, picking up stones in the garden, hauling strawberries up to the house, towing picnic lunches back to the hilltop, joyriding, etc. and the battery has never run down. We do put it on the charger every night. We have never used the smaller battery so I don't know how that would do. I saw in one review that it was difficult to access the battery for charging. There is a screw to hold down the battery cover but it also has plastic catches on it. I just leave the screw out and no problems.

Traction was an issue initially. We live on 25 acres of rolling hills and much of it is meadow which is much rougher than yard. The tractor initially got stuck too easy. I added traction by pop riveting "cleats" I cut from an old mudflap onto the rear tires. It is now unstoppable. If you do something like this be aware that the increased traction adds to the risk of injury and makes it even more important that the child is properly supervised.

The trailer became difficult to unhook as the catch on the plastic pin had become deformed. I made up a proper drawpin out of an old cap screw which took care of that. We also added a bicycle safety flag so the tractor is easier to see.

Low gear is perfect for tractor work. High gear is very fast. We walk around the back every night and our daughter drives the tractor. We probably walk for a mile or two. There are a couple of big hills, some rough ground and muddy puddles to cross. The only times it now gets stuck is when she tries to head off through the hay, which is several feet tall (hence the safety flag). She likes to use high gear but it's too fast for us to easily keep up with her. The trailer is used all the time. She is always finding things to put in the trailer be it toys, wild flowers, stones from the trail, even a turtle once.

Our daughter used to ride with me all the time on the big tractors. Now she always wants to take the little tractor. I'm very impressed how well it is made and how well it has worked out. Great toy!

5-0 out of 5 stars The fun doesnt last
I have triplet boys who just turned 3 and they EACH got one of these tractors for their bday. I also purchased 3 extra batteries. the day they got them the trailer pins broke. in less than a week 2 of them wouldnt work-the company sent me new switches and then another stopped working so I had to call for another switch-then one of the wheels on 1 stopped working so they are sending me a gear box. when calling the company hold times are long but they are willing to send me new parts-these toys are not even 3 weeks old yet and why should I need to fix them so much-try explaining this to a 3 year old who just wants to ride his tractor! I would really like to send all three back and get something that will work all the time instead of 1/2 the time but am not sure just how to go about it at this stage of the game. Unless you dont mind waiting for new parts and fixing the tractor almost all the time-keeping shopping for something else! It's too bad because they are fun for the kids and very cute too!

5-0 out of 5 stars Much fun while it last
GOT THE TRACTOR FOR MY 21 MONTH OLD, HE LOVES IT. NOT A DAY GOES BY THAT HE IS NOT ON IT. TOOK AN HOUR TO PUT TOGETHER. AFTER ONE MONTH THE REVERSE DOES NOT WORK, THE TRAILER PIN IS WORN SO THE TRAILER FALLS OFF AND THE TRAILER LATCH IN THE BACK DOESN'T STAY CLOSED. BOTHERS ME BECAUSE OF COST BUT DOESN'T BOTHER THE LITTLE ONE. TRACTION IS GOOD ON GRASS AND THE BATTERY LAST ALL DAY, THAT'S GETTING ON AND OFF. RECOMMENDED BECAUSE IT'S SO DARN CUTE TO SEE HIM ALONG SIDE HIS DAD WHILE DADDY CUTS THE GRASS WITH HIS JOHN DEERE. ... Read more

Mighty indeed! This Tonka backhoe is aptly named. Riding high above the ground (11 inches) on large, rugged tires (4.5 inches indiameter), it's constructed of heavy-duty steel and durable plastic. Realistically styled after a full-size backhoe, it has a long steel arm for digging deep or scooping up rocks and dirt. The backhoe can swivel a full 360 degrees on the truck bed, making it easy to load dirt into other trucks or get to those hard-to-reach rock piles. There's a sure-grip handle on the side of the arm for lifting and lowering, and another handle at the base of the arm lets the "driver" extend or retract the work bucket for scooping and dumping. The backhoe sits on strong steel axles that have been tested with a 50-pound load. With a lifetime guarantee to back it up, the Mighty Backhoe is built to withstand all the rough play your kids can dish out. --Chris Burns ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The way Tonka ought to be!
I got this backhoe for my 3 year old last year and it has put up with more abuse than any toy should have to face -yet it still works well & looks fine. My son has had an enormous amount of fun playing with it, riding on it, attacking his sister with it, etc. and it keeps coming back for more. Don't bother with motorized plastic, this is the real thig!

My 3 year old grandson loves favorite trucks
I bought the backhoe, dump truck and the back loader and recently purchase the crane for him. He takes them everywhere he goes. His father takes him to see the real ones at work and he know what each one is called.

They are very durable. Great trucks.

Great toy
My boys (2 and 3) love this!!!
(It's metal, so not great for really little children.)

Your kid is going to LOVE this!!
I bought this backhoe, the front loader, and the dump truck for my 2 1/2 and 3 1/2 year old boys. The quaility is great and we love the steroid size of these classic construction vehicles! My children really dig these huge toys. They get lots of imaginative and creative play with these construction toys as well as practice with hand-eye dexterity and manipulation. There is so much fun to have in piles of sand, rocks, gravel, or plain old dirt!

Fun and leaning in one toy.
This is a toy that works great in combination with the Tonka Mighty Dump Truck.

My nephew normally is glued to computer games, but this toy actually got him to play outside for a change.

It is durable and works best when the child has access to dirt/sand. ... Read more
