You might get lucky...
We bought this for full price (ouch!) and I have mixed reviews. The first one went back the day after we opened it because it just stopped... nothing, zilch! We've had the 2nd one now for about 10 months and it really is an enjoyable toy for my 4 yr old. She has gotten pretty good at manuevering Rachel around our house. She doesn't play with it often... but when we get it out, she plays with her for quite a while. One of Rachel's arms has now broken off because my daughter liked to hold hands with her :)

Overall - not a very durable toy. Yours may be like our first one and quit working right off the bat. But - if you get lucky - you might get one that holds up to occasional fun play.

I would never recommend it at full price - but at this sale price - it might be worth a shot!

Didn't work from day one!!

It's been a while since Disney's The Little Mermaid sent every girl in the country into an enduring mermaid infatuation, but the love just continues. This particular maid features a pink tiara, a blue tail, and a magenta skirt. Her hair starts out blond, but when dipped in cold water it turns pink and can be styled with the included comb. Press a star on her chest and she sings a warbling song that some may find a little disappointing in its brevity. runner up chucky
this toy terifies me! it is the runner up chucky! my sister got this and when she played the song, it sounded like a broken bag pipe with mayoniase running down it. i devised a plan and rewierd it's entier system. i was shocked because it woulden't stop playing the mayo song at 2:39 am. i took out the battries but it continued. the wires draind the battieres and allowed the doll to run without them!

DO NOT BUY THIS TOY!
What a surprise. Again another toy that tricks young girls into believing they will get the perfect doll, and end up with a freaky scary doll that is at the bottom of their toy chest. My daughter too fell in love with those oh so lovely toy commercials they strategically place on all the children's t.v. networks. Yet again, her gullible mom traipsed out to buy another doll. And yet again, my daughter was dissapointed when surprise.. her hair didn't turn pink, she lost the jewels in a day, and her extremely annoying singing voice was lost after one trip in the bathtub. But then again, I am not complaining about that one.. it is one of the most annoying freakish toys I've seen in quite awhile. I will not be buying anymore of these cheaply made overpriced dolls that are put on the market by mass market toys companies. I will spend the extra bucks and buy American Girl Dolls that will last long after my children are the age of playing with dolls and into the times when my someday grandchildren will be playing with them also. Take my advice, spend the extra money and get a doll that is worth having. THis one is DEFINATELY NOT IT. It will be in my garage sale pile with a 5 cent sticker on it. At least some mom will get lucky and spend the money it's worth!

The most annoying toy ever
My daughter received this as a birthday gift when she turned 4. At first, she was delighted, but now she never plays with this anymore. The music is creepy and annoying and will go off in her toybox in the middle of the night. The jewels that come with this doll are all but lost. The hair barely turns pink in the bathtub - there was a Mermaid Kelly doll that was out a few years ago and was better for this feature. Don't even bother spending your $25 on this. It now sits at the bottom of my kid's toy box and she never plays with it anymore. All it does every once in awhile is go off when some other toy hits it in her toy box as a creepy reminder that she is stll present.

THIS TOY IS ADORABLE AS PIE
I am seven years old. I love to play with this toy. You can put things on her tail and they light up when you push a button on her stomach. She sings a song when you push the button. Before Christmas I really wanted this toy. Then when I woke up in the morning, I saw it and was very surprised. I pressed the button and she sang a beautiful song to me. Hey kids if you get this doll,you made the right choice!

Somebody turn her off Please!
My daughter got this toy for Christmas last year and she played with it and still does. The mermaid is pretty loud and goes off, when ever it wants, even in the middle of the night! I have to make sure the is completely turned off, so it won't wake my daughter at night! The jewels are very small, take extreme caution around very young children! Most of the jewels have already gone down the drain! The Yellow star container that stores the jewels, is so hard to open. It is very difficult for me and my daughter has never been able to open it.
