The perfect dollhouse, if it would just work!!!
I bought this dollhouse for my daughter on her third christmas. I thought it was a really good dollhouse for the price, and was very excited about giving it to her. When we put it together, it was great. It was a big hit and everybody played with it. She played with it everyday for a month until it started to have problems. The wiring somehow got messed up so that if you hit the fireplace for instance, the phone would ring, and soforth. That was just the first problem. After that, the batteries would run down within a day because the switch wires were also messed up. You can't get the lights to turn off now. I don't feel like replacing the batteries everyday, or taking them out after every use, so I'm just getting rid of it. I didn't keep the box to return it, or otherwise I would be returning it for a refund. Kinda a waste in my book.

great dollhouse,but i'd look for a more sturdy one
this is a great dollhouse in the fisher price collection though it is not exactly what I would choose because it is kind of rickity. That is not what you want to be happening, you kids playing nicely together and then it just falls on top of them. I gave it 4 stars on it's durability, because thats what happened to my three year old. it will be returned tomorrow.

best townhouse ever made.......no, best dollhouse!!
This toy is certainly up top on my favorites list!Yeah, other people say it's not that sturdy, but I disagree! one of the best ever made Fisher Price! Keep up the great work! I love it.

GREAT dollhouse
My daughter received this for her 3rd birthday and is still enjoying it almost every day and now she is 4 1/2. Her 2 1/2 year old sister loves it as well. It's always popular when her friends come over. It's great because it comes with some built in furniture, but has room to add more. Fun for the grandparents to add pieces to the collection. Big enough for both my girls to play side-by-side. The special affects are fun, but ours go crazy when the batteries go low so I just stopped replacing them and the girls haven't even noticed. I researched many, many dollhouses and this one fit all our wants and needs. Some dollhouses have rooms so small that once the furniture is in, little hands can't get the dolls in. All in all, a great purchase for both our daughters to enjoy for many more years.

classic dollhouse is still a hit!
This loving family dollhouse is certainly amazing. It's well built,AND it has two BABIES unlike the special edition townhouse. It also has very nice touches such as the fireplace in the den, roomy fridge, balcony on the second floor, and extra play space on the very top. Take my word for it, this is not all. for the low,low,low price of fifty dollars, it is really worth it. Every single penny. If you are looking for a special dollhouse that your kids will play with for more than five or six weeks, the classic dollhouse is the one! you will really enoy this and hurry to the toystore before they are sold out!!!!

Good gift
My two girls love this house. If I had to say anything bad about the house would be the door didnt stay on and the room are a little small.But overall we really been happy with this toy we love the people and funiture they make for the house. They are made real well.If you have younger girls and want to start barbie I would go with this toy first, same thing but better for younger girls.

Loving Family Dollhouse Still a Favorite After 5 Years
We bought the original Loving Family Dollhouse when my daughter was 3 years old. She is now nearly 7 and still loves to play with it. We buy new furniture and accessories every year. Though the housing "styles" may change, the premise is still the same - little girls love playing with dollhouses and Fisher-Price has created all the family members, accessories and pets to make every playtime fantasy come true. What a great buy and enduring toy for our family!

Still lots of fun
This was a huge hit this year, and the kids love it. I had held off on buying on Fisher Price's previous version, the Home and Stable when I heard they were bringing back the Classic version. I had heard there were problems with the stable versions durability and I thought the classic version would give more rooms.

No complaints so far on the classics durability, everything is still intact after a month of play.

However, I didn't really find more room in the house, and other than the durability concern I'm not sure if we wouldn't have been just as happy or happier with the Home and Stable version. The room on top is shown as a playroom and unlike the previous version, in the classic it is enclosed, this limits the furniture you can put in this room and what to use the room for. The main family room in the middle also seems to be more enclosed. The niches and stuff they added are cute, but a great deal is made about getting the loving family furniture so I think it should fit and compliment the house better. The smaller rooms on the left, especially the nursery we found to be very cramped. I do have last years nursery, so it could be the furniture we have, but we can't put all the furniture into the room and we found the room below seems to be a waste as well. And, the slanted roof on the nursery and bathroom make the already small rooms about an inch even smaller since you can't fit the furniture all the way in. We also found the way the classic one folds up (the floor fold into the house) you can't fit as much furniture in it when play times over, so we needed to get a tote to store the rest of the furniture.

I had more than one kid get just mildly annoyed that the furniture didn't fit right, match the rooms layout or stickers or windows. But even with that the kids still love it! Definitely a hit!

Fun dollhouse with a few minor flaws
My daughter got this for her 4th b-day. She was so excited. She has played with it almost everyday. One flaw is that the doors fall off all the time. Second, the rooms are kind of small for the furniture you can buy to go with it. It only comes with a mom,dad and baby so I bought the sister and brother dolls right away. Cute toy with only a few problems
The furniture is so cute. My daughter loved setting up the rooms. However, the furniture is almost too big for the rooms. We have the classic dollhouse. I don't know how it would fit in other dollhouses. The bathroom is an especially tight fit. Also, the laptop and book that came with it kept coming apart. That said, I am glad we have it because my daughter loves playing with it.

TIME CONSUMING
INITIAL SET-UP IS VERY TIME CONSUMING AS FAR AS APPLYING THE STICKERS. FURNITURE INCLUDED IS CUTE, BUT NOT MUCH THERE. HAD TO RUN OUT TO THE TOY STORE FOR OTHER ITEMS. MY DAUGHTER PREFERS NOT TO HAVE THE SOUND EFFECTS ON. VERY CUTE TO LOOK AT. VERY HARD TO PACK UP FURNITURE TO CLOSE CORRECTLY.

A must have for your dollhouse
This 3 room set is a must have for your Loving Family dollhouse! It's so much fun and really helps to fill up the space. I especially love the little potty chair that comes w/ the bathroom, the globe that actually spins around, the lap top that opens up and the easle. Oh, and the desk for the little girl to work at. You get a lot for your money.

Terrific Buy!!!!
I am very happy with this set. Not only is it a great buy but everything fits into the Fisher-Price Loving Family Sweet Sounds dollhouse. I really like how they attach the washcloth and shower head to the tub. Then they don't get lost. I think anyone will be happy with this set. Nice addition to the house!!

Took a chance...
I was hesitant to purchase this item since no photo or product description was available to show what rooms were included, but I decided to take a chance. Luckily, I am pleased with the toy. But, I don't think I saved any money by buying the group, this is why I didn't rate 5 stars. This package includes a bathroom (footed bathtub, blue vanity with sink, toilet, potty chair etc.), playroom (globe, easel, bookcase etc.) and kid's bedroom. From my research, I've concluded that these are three of the lower priced rooms. The kid's bedroom, not available at Amazon at the time I write this review, is a teenager's bedroom (stereo, laptop, TV, twin-size daybed etc). Great toys! BOTH races are available!
My daughter plays for hours with her Loving Family--BOTH caucasian and african-american versions. There are indeed both available, and we have a mixture because our circle of friends includes people of different ethnic backgrounds. We want our children to value diversity. Try Fisher-Price.com--I have had to order items that we want but cannot find in the stores. Or go to the Wal-Mart in Greenville, Mississippi, where the ONLY loving family dolls available are the african-american version!! Perhaps that is because the majority of the population there is african-american--but they do not stock the caucasian dolls. Don't blame Fisher-Price--they do make BOTH!!

Race IS an issue
I have tried to buy a black family with the house and found none, not even in the store. While I don't want to raise children to be prejudiced, I truly believe self-esteem and identity can be greatly affected, especially in the early years, through play and the stereotypes presented. Most toy manufacturers automatically include white dolls with their toys.
Mattel and Fisher Price have both had problems with this in the past. The Toys R Us in our neighborhood caters to mostly black and Hispanic, yet quite often, TOO often, the only families available are white. Maybe Amazon, who caters to a WORLD market, could influence this situation.

My daughter Loves the Loving Family
I read a review about the race of the dolls in the Loving Family house only being caucasion, not true. My daughter is 4 years old and and caucasion, but I bought the house with an African-American family to teach her about other families in the world. I think Fisher-Price does a great job of showing children the different types of people in this world. I am not a bias mother and don't want my children to feel that caucasions are any better than any other race--we should all be treated equal. My main reason for buying this set was because I raise my children at home and feel that through play she will learn to appreciate other races before she goes to school. Thanks to Fisher-Price for helping me teach my daughter how to appreciate other people.

Once again disappointed with fisher price
I am really tired of fisher price/Mattel continued insults on this matter. Not all children who purchased the loving family doll houses are caucasian, so why do you continue to make caucasian families for the doll houses and no african american or different ethnic figures, you discust me. Stop being bias, I want to see an african american doll giftset from your company and so does every other ethnic person. If you are going to make a caucasian family, make families of color as well, just don't make a few pieces. Or do you want only to do business with some people and not all?

Item Photo doesn't reflect the inclusions
To be fair, I wrote to Amazon to ask for a clear explanation of this item, why it was priced so high. In fact they had no answer but to say what is pictured is what you get. This in fact is not an accurate picture of the inclusions. The price is high because in fact you get several other figures. You get a Grandma with kitty and carrier. You get a baby-sitter with little girl, as well as the sister and brother in the picture which alone sell for $6.00. This picture is misleading. You get a few more figures then lead to believe. The parent's room is a good value compared to some of the other loving family furniture sets. It comes with a bed, table, lamp, mirror, tree, and breakfast in bed tray that flips over to be a reading table. TOO MANY PIECES
MY LITTLE GIRL GOT THE LOVING FAMILY DOLL HOUSE FOR CHRISTMAS, ALONG WITH ALL THE FURNITURE. Cute accessory for dollhouse
I think this is a very cute addition in the Loving Family dollhouse. The chair actually reclines (back goes back and footrest goes up). The floor lamp is really cute and we love the little dog. I love the fireplace too, makes for a cozy living room. I actually prefer this living room over the newer Deluxe Living room that interacts w/ the house. That one has a big TV that you can change the picture on once or twice. I've decided that's not what I want my daughter pretending....that the family sits and watches TV. She can watch TV in her own time, but while playing w/ this dollhouse I want her imagination souring :-)

Great Must Have Set
When we purchased this set for our four-year-old daughter, we weren't sure if she'd like it. She absolutely loved it. It taught her that one should never go to bed without first putting out the fire, and she loves the dog that came with the set. She's happy that she can keep her "Loving Family" warm in front of their own fire.

Very nice!
This living room set is very nice. And looks really sturdy. I bought it for my little cousin's new loving family sweet sounds house for christmas. She will love decorating her new dollhouse. I just love the whole loving family selection. One by one I will try to buy every room set. I have already bought four. Fisher-price really makes nice dollhouses and acessories!

Totaly In!
This toy goes perfect with the doll house it doesnt matter if you have the doll house or not. My two year old loves this set
My daughter has the Loving Family figures and was given this set to compliment our dollhouse. She finds it very easy to get the babies in and out of the swings and get the toddler kids to sit at the picnic table.

Because this set includes things we have in our backyard - swings, slide, bbq and picnic table I hear her role play along with the figures just like when we are outside as a family having our summer bbqs and playing.

As with all Fisher Price toys - it's extremely durable and easily cleaned. A great addition to your Loving Family collection.

Great for Imagination
I purchased this for my 5 year old and it's provided hours of imaginative fun for several children ages 5 through 11. There are several electronic features which have been fun for her to discover and have encouraged even more play. Well worth the money.

my kids LOVE this toy
This is a really cute toy. My 4 year old daughter has played with it every day since she got it for Christmas. She has even gotten her brother to be interested in it with her. Definately worth buying.

friendship pony stable - lots of fun
My daughter adores horses.I would be surprised if there were many
girls with more horses/ponies than she has.She asked Santa for this as soon as she saw the Fisher Price catalogue. She loves it.
She has the whole collection and plays for hours at a time with
them. She knows all their names and has the greatest pretend parties and school days with them. Great to stimulate their imagination.

Not for everyone!
My daughter got this for her 3rd birthday. I read her the book several times, and that was her favorite part of the toy. She played with it for about 15 minutes and then wasn't interested anymore. I think this toy would be great for a little girl who shows interest in ponies. Perhaps my daughter is not at the right age to act things out, but I felt that her options with this set were limited, and there was not much she could do with it.

She loves it!
I gave this toy to my little girl for her 3rd birthday. What she really wanted was the My Little Pony celebration castle but after reading the reviews on that toy, I couldn't see myself buying it. I think this was a good substitute. First of all the toy seems very durable, no flimsy pieces on this toy. There aren't a whole bunch of small parts to lose (the toy comes with just a few accessories and actually has a place to store them). My daughter plays with Comet the pony that came with the set, as well as Twinkles (an accessory pony) and also all of her other ponies including her my little ponies. The only thing I have negative to say about this set, is that Haley the little girl isn't a very good rider! I think she could have been designed a bit better so that she would stay on the horse! A great addition to your Sweet Streets collection
My daughters (4 and 3) have the school house and this was a great addition to that as now they have more "students" to attend the school. They enjoy role playing as they are both excited about going to school when they are old enough.

As with all the Sweet Streets sets we have found them to be extremely durable and easy to keep clean and wonderfully affordable and portable.

Better Than I Expected
I was relectant to purchase this bus because I really wanted one with an opening door and at the time there was no "From the Manufacturer" statement which confirmed this. I was pleased that BOTH the side door and emergency door open. I was also pleased that the doors have not come loose and are more durable than I would have expected.

I would like to add that my 5 year old twin girls do prefer the "Sweet Streets Horse & Carriage" over the bus - but not by much.

How many levels of marketing approved this?
I bought this as part of our Sweet Streets collection because my daughter wanted to have a little boy to use in the houses as "the brother" (most come only with little girls). Had I looked more closely at the other figures, I would not have bought it. The set comes with three white schoolchildren and a black adult labeled as a crossing guard/bus driver. We work hard to teach our children to avoid racist stereotypes, and do not appreciate having to explain why the only black person in town is the bus driver (there are supposedly some houses that come with black families, but we haven't been able to find them). Luckily, the difference in size of the "adult" figure is not that noticeable, so we told our children that the guard is one of the "friends" on the bus, but older children will notice the guard's outfit.

CUTE FOR PLAY AND GOOD LEARNING TOOL!!!!!
My daughter received this for her 5th birthday. And she loved it. It taught her more about school. And since she is starting all day kindergarten, it was a perfect gift! She plays with it everyday!

The only downside is that the doors tend to break away from the bus....but it is easily put back together!

Strongly recomend
I have two girls. Both are a bit rough with toys. They are 2 and 5. They have had this toy for two years. It still works like new. I will be buying a second one because they fight over who is playing with it. They enjoy this toy very much even years later. I stronly recomend this toy.

Fun water play, unreliable sound effects
This was #1 on our 4 year old daughter's Christmas list last December. She still enjoys playing with it, but we are all disappointed with the lights and music. When she filled it with water shortly after receiving it, some water got into the speaker. Despite airing it out and replacing batteries, the music and lights no longer work. She was disappointed, but still likes to have her dolls and dollhouse pets go swimming. We were surprised that a toy that is supposed to be used with water is not designed well for use with water. Especially for the price, this was not one of the cheaper dollhouse accessories. So expect good play value but no "extras" with this one.

Cool Fun
We just bought this for our kids age 2 and 4. This is a great addition to any dollhouse collection. You can put water in it and push the button and a light comes on and it bubbles.(Every time you push the button it bubbles.)We use this with the old Fisher Price doll house. Lily Gray
this toy is great I have three myself they are Dusty,Whisper,and Honey and I have all three of the loving family foals Daisy, Blossom, and Rose. But my personal favorite is Lily Gray but I still do not have her. Me and my neighbors play with these almost every day and they are our favorite toy.

Now we need a farm.
We added several ponys from the western set. They are sturdy and well made. The horse sounds are realistic and accessories again help children to recognize that the animals, if real, would need food and water. The equestrian people are recommended as their legs are built to expand to allow them to easily balance on the backs of the horses. The saddles are relatively easy to put on for my 4 year old. ... Wow!
I decided to buy this toy for my four year old cousin because she wants a dollhouse just as much as I did when I was a kid. Since I never got one, I wanted to fufill my cousin's dream and buy the perfect dollhouse. So when I found this dollhouse I was so exited. It was affordable and still big! I just got it today, and I just had to open it to see for myself! Not only does it come with 1 kitchen chair, high chair, love seat, cradle, toy box, rocking chair, cat, tape recorder and baby swing, the built-in stuff is really nice too. Like the upstairs chair where the mother can tell stories, and the kitchen is really great! It has a built-in microwave, frige, counter, phone, stove, etc. I just loved this dollhouse. Plus it comes with a ton of stickers so you and your child can have fun decorating the house to feel like a real home. I have sugar,honey,dusty and whisper. I saw whisper in the store and was suprised to see a horse mix. so I went online to search for others I came across whisper again a found out she was a cream color nothing like the one I saw at the store same with dusty she is white with a gray muzzle I found her online and she was a pinto same with honey.

Excellent Choice
My 4 year old daughter received the Loving Family dollhouse and many accessories for Christmas last year. This horse has been the best investment of all. The house is fun, but not real well built for her younger friends. Her cousin loved her horse, Whisper, so much that we went & got him one for his birthday. He loved it, but wanted to know where the rider was. There is another horse from this series available that comes with a rider. I haven't seen it in person, but Fisher-Price has full support from me.

A well-made and detailed toy horse
We bought this toy horse for my son (22 months). I'm really impressed with it's quality: the sound effects are quite realistic, the pawing action and lowering head are cute, and the accessories are nice. The saddle is detailed and fits nicely. We have to use a rubberband to "tie" the rider onto the horse, but that is mainly because my son gets so distraught when they fall off.

Save your money
I bought this horse and a few of the Western Style Loving Family People for my six year old son. He liked the horse and playing with it for a little while. Unfortunately, the saddle does not clip onto or strap onto the horse in any way, so it falls off everytime the horse moves. The people are jointed to straddle the horse, but again, do not clip on in any way. It is not possible to pretend that the people are riding because they slip off the saddle and the saddle slips off the horse. He has the people lead the horse, or look at the horse, nothing else is practicle. I will probably have to glue the saddle onto the horse to make it usable. He is very disappointed and so am I.
In addition, I bought the Loving Family Camper, but there is not a horse trailer to allow them to pull the horse behind them for their "vacation" so the house must ride by laying on top of the camper, which is so absurd looking I have to laugh.
The camper is a lot of fun and easy to use, spend your money on it instead of the horse. ... Read more

The bright lavender color and cute architectural details, like the flower boxes and bench on the rooftop veranda, make this Victorian-style dollhouse irresistible. Opened up, it has plenty of fun spaces--two bedrooms, a dining room, a piano room, and an entryway--but it snaps up nicely to form a compact, portable unit when playtime is on the go. In addition to the smiling mom, dad, and daughter dolls, there are eight other pieces, including a table, a piano with bench, and two beds. A not-so-serious flaw is that the scale of the townhouse is off, with the furniture almost completely filling up the rooms. A bigger issue is that the dolls bend only at the waist, making their sitting positions awkward and straight-legged. It's a shame they couldn't have a few more articulation points, and it's disappointing that Fisher-Price didn't value quality enough to take this one extra step. Fabulous introduction to dollhouse play!
I just love this new Sweet Streets collection from Fisher Price, and my three year old daughter can't get enough of playing with them! There are several different houses and shops in this collection along with an Ice Cream Truck and a Horse and Carraige set. Each house is a complet playset and comes with the furniture and people, and you don't have to go out and buy different people or furniture for it. The houses fold up quickly and easily, and all of the pieces will fit inside it. There is a handle on the top so your little one can pack it up and take it anywhere, and you don't have to worry about where to store the pieces to it.
The houses are smaller, but there is plenty of room inside to play. The pieces are much bigger than the trendy mini doll sets like polly pocket, etc.
Bottom Line:
This collection is FABULOUS, and if you are trying to figure out which one to start with, I say it doesn't matter! Any of the houses will do just fine.

Durable, good price, but just to small!
I have purchased quite a few of the Sweet Street dollhouse's for my 4 year old niece. (Beachhouse, Hotel, Townhouse, County Fair.) They are a good price, very durable, and are quite cute! They come with alot of accessories which is nice but can be messey! My niece gets frustrated when trying to fit all the beds and furniture in the dollhouse. One bed usually fills up the bedroom and on the lower floors there are too many walls for her to get her little hand in let alone any of the furniture. They need more room. Now she just uses the Sweet Streets people, and furniture in a larger dollhouse that I bought for her.

My 5 year old loves the whole Sweet Street set, she has been collecting them since she was three. I think they are a great product at an affordable price.

GREAT toy
I have a 3 year old daughter and she just loves the Sweet Streets set. The Town House is one of the first ones we bought. It has provided many hours of play using her imagination. We liked it so much we have started collecting the whole set. I think this is a MUST have toy for little girls ;0)

Ok, but not like the pictures.
This is a very cute dollhouse and it's fairly durable. I was disappointed because the furniture in the pictures is more detailed than the furniture that came with my dollhouse. Also the interior stickers were different; they were smaller and less vivid. Even the color of the roof and the furniture is totally different. Small in Size, Big in Fun . . . and ready to go!
My 4-year-old daughter received this wonderful doll house as a birthday gift. She immediately fell in love with it as she is "all girl" and absolutely loves to play "make believe" with all her toys, and this doll house is no exception. She has the Loving Family doll house and I thought that this little doll house would be pushed aside and she would play with the large doll house exclusively. I was wrong. She plays with them both equally, and sometimes even together. This a great toy for travel as all the pieces fit inside the house, it has a carrying handle and it is small in size. There are not a lot of pieces that go with this doll house, (due to size), but in no way does it take from the play value of this toy. Any child who loves dolls/doll houses will enjoy this toy. With an imagination, big or small, the possibilities are endless.

Perfect size dollhouse for a three year old!
I gave this house and the two shop sets to my daughter for her third birthday. WoW! This was the only toy she played with.
The houses are small but roomy enough to actually play with. Each house comes with some accessories and people. What I really like is that there are no additonal furniture or people pieces you have to buy for this, everything included is more than enough to be a complete play set. If you want to collect more of these sets, there are several other houses and shops along with an ice cream truck and a horse and carriage you can buy. The prices are reasonable.
The house folds up and you can store all the pieces inside of it. There is also a handle so you can pick up the house and take it along to a playdate!

I also have a nine month old, and with this set I don't have to worry about the pieces getting lost and ending up in her mouth. The pieces are much bigger than the trendy mini playsets.
If you buy this and open it, save the upc bar code from the box. With the upc code and a small s&h fee, you can send away for a nice cloth playmat that you can use to create a little town. I called fisher price, and the Grand Hotel has not yet been released.
Bottom line: What a great toy to get you little one interested in dollhouse play. You will love it too!

Color Scheme has changed
Doll House is very nice, however please be aware the color scheme your get may not match the picture. I purchased this for my toddler son as it was shown with a lot of blue trim. The one that was shipped had much more pink. The shutters, doors and flowers where pink not blue as shown.

Lots of fun!
My 4 year old daughter recieved this last Christmas and still loves it. Both her and her 2 year old brother have a lot of fun with it! The only thing that bothers me is that there are no replacement pieces. We lost a few of the inside pieces in a move (and I think the dog got one) and I cannot buy more for this little house without buying the whole thing (which we do not need!) Great first dollhouse at a good price!
