Kettou Da!
It was only a couple of weeks ago when I took the first step into the world of Duel Masters. I haven't regretted it since.

While the starter deck is impressive, the real power is locked within the booster packs. Right now I'm working on a darkness deck and the boosters are coming in handy.

This is a true story. Today I was shopping with my sister (because I'm the one who drives) and I picked up a couple of boosters for my collection. When I got back home I pulled a very powerful darkness card from one of the packs; Deathliger, Lion of Chaos.

Is a loser like myself can pull a spectacular card at random, then you can too. Buy the booster packs and you won't regret it.

better than yu-gi-oh

wrong i know what all you fans are thinking yeah right your crazy trust me i know what i'm saying i use to be a yu-gi-oh fanatic as well until i played duel masters they call it duelmasters because its the master of all dueling tcg's it has wonderful gameplay and is much more fun here is top 3 reasons its better than yugioh
1. its less expensive than yugioh less money for more fun you do the math fun + less $$$ = happiness for you and your kids of parents or and just you depending whose reading and buying
2.has tornaments everybody can compete in not just the best so you will never be rejected for your skill
3.alot less cards to collect so you can usally just collect for a few months and then have them al and wholla there you have it another edition of the game
hey your already on the page so buy it off of amazon right now you will see what i mean you may want to read the rules so maybe if your a first you should buy the starter deck.

Future CCG investments that should be on your list!
I've been through many card games, most likely all of them were "cool to have" when they first came out. Still hard hitting, precise strategic card game is Magic: The Gathering. I've seemed to have started to play this occasionally, and somewhat never.Recently not investing in new cards due to new rules, to make it confusing.

That leads me to why I want to review this product. Familiar with Mana, and Energys, Duel Masters is a game based upon similar rules from Pokemon and MTG. Although equal in many ways Duel Masters is so much different. Many of the MTG rules were omitted, and new styles of gameplay were added. Which created the much more player-friendly gameplay style.

If you play MTG, you know there is Mana. Well there is for Duel Masters too. Every card in your deck is Mana, if flipped upside down, and placed in your Mana pool.

Booster packs, are a great addition to any CCG. Only getting starter decks will not provide exposure to DM's excellent variety of monsters. I highly recommend DM. Educationally, it it would ultimately teach basic math, and a decent amount of patience.

Overall this is a great product. As I see it, its a CCG aimed for the smaller of the crowd. The style of drawing is more unique and has a Japanese flare to it. You ask if its worth it, or if it is better than,Yu Gi Oh,when still is a good game, lacks variety, simple artwork, and no story-line behind the cards. (i.e. Flavor text and novels from MTG) This product is surely to be sucessful, it has already taken lead CCG in Japan, outranking Yu Gi Oh. A must buy situation! ... Read more

Duel Masters is a unorignal ripoff!
Duelmasters is a ripoff because it is not orignal I mean seriously it takes shields from pokemon a.k.a [prizes] Attack values and combat system from Yu-gi-oh! And mana fro Magic: The gathering it just rips off every card game out there. I don't now what you see in this if you really want to play a good Trading card game try Magic The gathering or Marvel Vs.

BEST CARD GAME EVER!
Duel Masters is a great game. It combines good elements of all the other card games like Yu-Gi-Oh and Pokemon, but has all sorts of innovative new rules. The shield idea is especially good because you don't have to keep track of life points. The games are fairly quick, so you can play it when you only have a little bit of time. The best thing about this game, however, it that there are no superpowerful instant-win cards. Any decent deck has a chance of beating any other deck. Buy this if you enjoy TCG games.

the Best gane
i just got a booster pack to check it out but this game easily kicks Yugioh's but. This technical game is the perfect cross between magic and yugioh i must say this is the best card game

I LOVE DUEL MASTERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This product is great! It has everything you need. PLus there is two 20-card decks, and 2 duel mat things. Plus you get Rothus, the Traveler holo card. It is fun because it different and more strategic than Yu-Gi-Oh. The educational part is to use your head in strategic ways. You have to think play-by-play, move-by-move to know what to do. The only reason I gave this 2 stars durability, is well, cards are paper and get bent, scratched, crinkled, etc. I suggest getting card holders. (...)

Best CCG Ever!
You have to get this game. It combines some of the best elements of WotC's other games and puts them into this one. There's mana from Magic:TG and the shields are sort of like the prizes in Pokemon (I haven't played in a long time so the rules might have changed). A really good thing about it is that you don't have to waste half your deck with land cards or energy like in WoTC's other games. Gameplay is fast and exciting, and even watching it will keep you glued to your seat for the relatively short time it takes to play. This Game Stinks!!!!!!!!!
Atari finally came out with a duelmasters video game. At first I thought this would be a popular product, but its not. Graphics stink, gameplay stinks and it's just plain old boring. The 5 cards that come with stink too. You could buy all of them together for 10 cents!! I am a collector of the card game and enjoy it very much, but this is just a piece of crap!!!Collect and play the Duelmasters card game instead, you won't regret it.

A deeper, better video game than Yu-Gi-Oh...
Duel Masters: Sempai Legends is a fun Colectable card game/rpg. The game is deeper than Yu-Gi-Oh and can be considered an easier version of Magic The Gathering. (The same people make Magic and Duel Masters) There aren't a lot of wasted cards like in Yu-Gi-Oh and there are a lot more strategy to the game. As for the video game itself, it is set up like YGO: The Sacred Cards, but the quest is longer and plays out a lot like a Pokemon game. Graphics are so-so. Sound is pleasant. The only big complaint I have is with the text used in the game. It is very small and blocky, making it difficult to read some things, especially dialogue.

Great Video AND Card Game.
I'm a big fan of collectible cards (collecting stuff will be my doom), so I tried out Duel Masters. Somebody told me to try out the videogame if I wanted to learn the game mechanics quickly and have a good tutorial on how to play.

So I went on and bought the Sempai Legends. Now, for once, a cool game based on cards!
Lately Yu-Gi-Oh has been providing us with some of the worst stuff on the planet...
The Sempai Legends has everything you need:
1)A whole set of cards from which to custom make your deck (and some cool folio "real" cards inside the box).
2)A fun story mode that gives you the possibility of exploring a cartoon style world while trying to catch an evil dueler who has robbed one of your most precious cards.
3)Easy to use menus: customizing your deck is fun and quick.
4)Cool card graphics, great 2D anime-like graphics for your character and environment. Nice music.
5)...but especially... AWESOME MONSTERS. Not little cute Pokemons, or strange Egyptian freaks...HUGE SHARP BAD DUDE MONSTERS with cool powers and weapons that battle each other using their special attacks.

I started playing the card game after I went through the video game.
Listen to my advice, buy the video game then play the card game!
If you already play the card game, create your deck in the video game and get to train your skills. Some in-game duelers are really strong and use intelligent deck strategies.

Crappy Free Cards
I wrote a review about this game last week but Amazon did not publish it because the title contained the word "suck"
The free cards suck but the game is okay.

Didn't play the game but the cards...
First off I haven't played the game. But if you are going to buy the game for the cards, listen to me first. If you want the game for the game go ahead I dont care. The cards are horrible. There just regular base set cards only turned holographic. The cards are all holo so here they are: Bronze Arm Tribe, Sonic Wing, Rothus the Traveler alternate art, Brain Serum, and Night Master Shadow of Decay. The best yu-gi-oh pack ever
I bought this pack after i had played the game for almost a year it still helped me inprove my game the two starter decks are really good for finalizing ur deck or making it and the best part is it comes with the Secret Rare card Dark Paladin the dark paladin is the rarest card in the magician force deck and if u buy it individualy it would be around 80 bucks so this is a great deal

The best Yu-Gi-Oh! product out there.
(...) If you are a beginner, buy this. You get the two original Yugi and Kaiba starter decks. Plus the Daek Paladin secret rare card. The DVD was done so amazingly well. It shows you how to play very well. Even my dad said he is going to watch and start his collecting and playing. The mat to place your cards on is great. The 2 decks are so fun to duel with. Plus, I recommend not buying a lot of cards after thisup . These 2 decks should be your main decks. Buy about 8 Magician's Force packs, to power the Yugi deck. And then buy 8 Legacy of Darkness packs for Kaiba deck. Wait you are still not done. Then buy 1 Kaiba Evolution deck. This should cost you about $100. It's a perfect collection. After that, you don't have to buy 1 more pack or deck. They are perfect decks and packs too. I told my friend about this (...) Yu-Gi-Oh combo" and he got the combo for his birthday to start off his collection. Now 4 months later, he wonour championships at our store. He won a 1st edition Pharoanic Guardian 36 pack booster box. Trust me, take my advice.

Don't buy it. It's so bad. The decks are made incorrectly. Horrible!!! Don't let me say that again.Please I beg of you not to get it! DONT GET IT !!!!!!
