Amazon.com Review Players micromanage the lives of a family of virtual people and influence the outcome of their lives, be it success or something akin to a nervous breakdown. The bestselling PC version of the game has, in recent years, been upgraded with elements like parties, pets, and vacations, but this iteration is closer to the basic formula. You start the game living with Mom in a one-story suburban house. You are immediately presented with certain life tasks, such as fixing the TV and making lunch, which are aligned with the skills you'll need for the game's main challenge--keeping your sims in balance on eight conflicting categories. For example, eating will have an impact on your sim's hunger rating, but it will also impact his bladder rating. You'll have to make sure that he keeps himself and the house clean, that he sleeps to restore his energy, and that he also has time to keep himself entertained. The free will option lets your sims coast a bit, and you can also save time by stacking tasks together. Time passes at the rate of about one minute per second in the game, but you can fast-forward sim time when you need to, such as when they're sleeping. The controls are justifiably complex, but adjusting to them is not difficult. You see your sims from an overhead perspective that you can both rotate and zoom. You direct their actions by moving a line cursor to where you want them to go or to what object or person with which you want them to interact. The game is surprisingly funny. Neglect your sims and they'll shout and wave their arms to get your attention. Allow one's energy to get too low and he or she will likely collapse and sleep right where they were standing. When that happens, Mom is likely to serve them dinner on the floor. Gamers may find that it takes a while to get the hang of The Sims' style and control scheme. Stick with it and you may find real time fast-forwarding by. --Porter B. Hall --The text of this review refers to the PlayStation2 version of the game. Pros: Reviews (38)
PROS: 1. The Sims are on XBOX! 2. Some good 2-player mini games 3. The Get a Life mode is a great addition. 4. And the same old Sims goodness (court wife, court neigbors wife, court neighbors daughter, court girlfriend, etc.) 5. and some more extra goodies in between (did I hear Monkey Butler?) 6, you got to earn the original sims mode and other goodies (in the original menu, it only has "Get A Life" mode) CONS: 1. There is something missing in the graphics, but I cant tell what 2. Controls are hard to understand and frustrating 3. you've played the original sims version before 4. Only has the first 3 sims version on it (so there is no vacation mode, no pets, and no nightlife) 5. the Love Bed is locked when you start the game. THE LOVE BED!!! 6. I HATE DUDLEY LANDGRABB!!! He is so lazy! He doesnt even answer the phone! (calls it "hell's bells") FINAL VERDICT: Avid Sims fans can sprint to the store to get this one. Casual fans can walk.

The game is exactly as it describes itself. You play NBA ball on the streets with real NBA players. Street rules are in play, so there is no travel, carrying, fouls, goaltending, or double dribble. You can do also the latest moves from the street and the rosters are fairly updated. The thing that really sold me on the game was the create a baller option and taking him on the road. It's fun to develop him and beat the best street ballers in the world. Great option to the game. This is a fun multi player game. I hook it up and play with my bros all the time and we always have a good time. The game doesn't get old. Like I said earlier, this is a must for all video basketball game fans. You won't regret it.
Just buy it and dunk the ball on this must have game!
A Great game

Amazon.com Product Description Reviews (9)
My biggest disappointment is that the game does get too easy quickly. Luckily there are more challenging courses, but those can be easy after playing once or twice. That makes this a great game for young children because they will be challenged longer. There is no violence and most definately deserves the 'E' rating. It is also nice to have a game that more than one person can play at a time.... in fact you can even have up to 4 players playing. There are other challenges like the Long Drive and Closest to the Pin competitions. These are fun, challenging, and a great way to put in a "quick game". For children I would most definately recommend it. For adults, I would recommend playing with them. But if you want something more challenging, there are other golf games that are better and have more characters.
Of course, this isn't an entirely straight game of gold. There are several recognisable and realistic modes of play; Strokeplay, Matchplay and Skins, plus combination play for a pair of two-player teams, Long Drive or Near Pin contests and a challenge option where you play against AI(computer) characters. Each toon has there own playing style as well, for example Donald Duck is a good all-rounder, while Goody is a power player with a hefty swing. MY VERDICT: THE GOODS: LET DOWNS: Graphics: 8/10 OVERALL SCORE AND THOUGHTS:

*Strong controls : although this game lacks in many areas... the controls aren't one of them *The car levels are quite fun now.... the bad things *The AI in this game is absoloutly terrible! If you're a fan of Goldeneye and Perfect Dark, you'll be dissapointed to find out that you won't be able to sneak around to complete your objectives. This game is a good looking Doom. * Although the Charactor voices do a very good job.... the story is full of holes and sometimes you'll find yourself playing the game wondering... what the hell is going on! * For a Bond game it certainly doesn't have a Bond feel. There are a grand total of 4 Gadgets in the game (yes I said 4) * Here's the final draw.... The Multiplayer levels are a joke!I'm a huge fan of the Perfect Dark multiplayer and this game can't even hold a candle to it. The levels are ridiculously small and to top that off.... they aren't even fun to look at. over all this game seems rushed. it deffinitly could have been A LOT better. Agent Under Fire is deffinitly a renter. If you're dying for a first person shooter, I say wait for Metroid or Pefect Dark Zero. But hey... if you're a doom fan... by all means get this game.
James Bond 007: Agent Under Fire
The singleplayer mode leaves something to be desired, and is very linear with minimal unlockables. It's also rather short. The breakdown: Graphics: 9/10

One of the main reasons I bought 007 was because the last Bond game I played was Goldeneye on the N64 - which is a great game as far as the N64 was concerned. With the vast improvements in game systems since the N64's development I figured Agent Under Fire would be pretty amazing. Not exactly true. The graphics are pretty damn good. Sound is fine, nothing spectacular. The weapons are decent, you have a good amount of gadgets and there are even a few levels in which you get to drive some tricked out Bond cars. The big let down is the length of the levels and the overall length of the game. The missions are pretty short and everything is spelled out for you. One of the great things about the latest generation of 1st person shooters is the ability to explore your environment - not so with Agent Under Fire. These two elements combine to make the missions not only short but fairly boring as well. If you enjoy first person shooters and have an itch to kill a lot of digital-bad-guys, buy Halo or wait till November and buy Medal of Honor.
Graphics: 0 out of 5 The graphics are extremely bad. It looks like a bad cartoon. Bond is NOT a cartoon! The guns look horrible. Every single one is automatic firing! Even the pistol fires like a machinegun! You also see lines of light go towards the people when you fire. The reloadings are quick and pointless. The PPK reloading is 3/4 of a second long. This game looks like a cheap imitation of a 1970s arcade game. Gameplay: 1 out of 5 Extremely linear gameplay. You go forward in a strait line. Your objectives go along the path. There is absolutely no exploring to be done. The guards, when shot, go flying backwards like it's a bad steve seagal action movie. The controls are extremely hard and terrible. This game is not fun at all. Sound: 1 out of 5 A baby with a rattle could make better sounds than what is in this game. The deutshe d5k sounds like a bad laser gun from outer space. All of the other sounds are muffled so you can't hear them and they all sound alike. The voice acting is okay, although there is almost no voice acting. You mainly here the grunts of baddies when shot. The only reason i'm giving sound a 1 out of 5 instead of a 0 out of 5 is because it actually has sound. Multiplayer: 0 out of 5 It is so terrible that this game would've been better if they left it out. The movement and action is quick and stupid, and the maps and levels are small, linear, and painfully terrible. The horrible control scheme just makes it worse. Lengthitivety: 0 out of 5 This game is so terrible that you will quit playing it before you are even half done with the first level. Overall score: .4 out of 5 Wow. Four-tenths out of 5. That is pitiful. Rent or Buy? You shouldn't even waste your money to rent this game! It is so horrible. The reason EA probably made this game is just to make a few easy bucks. I will consider anyone who doesn't play this game to be a hero of the world. This game is horrible. As I said earlier, we have yet to invent a word or phrase in the english language to describe how painfully horribly terrible this game is. If you want to play a good bond game, play goldeneye or nightfire. Those games are fantastic. The world is not enough is also good. But do yourself a huge favor and stay far away from this game. It is very bad. This game isn't bond. It is nothing to me.
The missions are playable, if unrealistic, you just don't get the James Bond feeling from this game, it's really a waste of time. Multiplayer can be fun however, not to the N64 Goldeneye limits, but good none the less. 2 Stars
I'm not the best at gaming, but I'm pretty good. I gave this game a pretty high rating, though. That tells you that this game is pretty good, and experienced games may get a kick out of this game. The main reason people might buy/rent this game is that it's just 007. Well, I guess this game was pretty good. I probably don't recommend buying it, but it may be worth a rent. Try it out. ... Shows Off the PS2's Graphics, but There's No Game Here The graphics, both foreground and background are completely amazing. The character designs are first-rate, with details adding to the realism, like the wisps of hair that bounce around on Sion's head, to the spiked horns sprouting from Volt's head. The emotions revealed through facial expression are great, but I really felt that I was watching a movie, rather than a PS2 game. Intros ranged from a few seconds to several minutes. They were great to watch, but as the game progressed, they became longer while the parts where having a controller in-hand became shorter. When the controller was in-hand, fighting enemies, the fighting isn't much ahead of Final Fight, or even as far back as the Double Dragon series. While you did have the incentive of beating them to see some more breath-taking scenes, the more you play, the less you want to watch, or even play. Additionally, the camera angles often were pretty bad, with you running toward the camera, making it impossible to see where the enemies were up ahead. There were also times in the subway scene, where you're running aimlessly to keep ahead of the closing doors and out of the times I did, it never got caught once. There was little challenge here. I think they were included so they could add more time to what was actually interactive on this title. Had I bought this one, I'd be sorely disappointed, because a DVD action movie has a cheaper price tag. SquareSoft incorporated Dolby Digital 5.1 sound during the cinematic scenes and it sounds wonderful, but again, the Matrix is cheaper and more entertaining. The game isn't even that challenging. I've beat the game with one character within a couple hours of booting it up and am working through with another, but the storyline really doesn't change enough (there are parts, but it's just not enough) for this one to be worth much more than a couple hours of play. The local used game store had several copies of it, and now I see why. There's little replay value in this one. The Bouncer really makes a good showoff piece for the PS2, but SquareSoft forgot about putting some game in there. If the cut scenes had ended up having more actual game play in between, it'd be a must-have for the PS2 collection, but as it is, it's a maybe-rent. ... Read more

Amazon.com Review The raft of changes that has been added to this version of Knockout Kingsincludes a new way to throw punches, aptly called Dynamic Punch Control. Thisfeature allows you to control and put together punch combinations that willoutwit the other fighters you face. The limitless combinations add a new levelof replayability to the title that didn't exist in previous installments. You can create dream bouts using some of the best boxers the world has everseen. The lineup includes Smoking Joe Frazier, Muhammad Ali, Marvelous MarvinHagler, Roberto Duran, Joe Louis, Rocky Marciano, and Julio Cesar Chavez. Betteryet, put them up against some of boxing's current stars such as Oscar De LaHoya, Lennox Lewis, or Michael Grant. EA Sports has left no stone unturned when it comes to the sweet science ofboxing. New fighting styles now allow gamers to create boxers with attacks thatmimic those of boxing's legends, such as Ken Norton's crab style or RockyMarciano's slugger style. --Todd Mowatt Pros: Reviews (44)
Overall, I highly recommend it, especially as a change of pace from the ultra-unrealistic Tekken and SF series. A thinking man's fighting game!

Amazon.com Review Street has two different game modes--City Circuit and Hold the Court--yetthe differences here are minimal. Both feature three-on-three games of 21, inwhich you must assemble a squad composed of (initially) NBA players. Soonyou'll play against street legends (read: bosses) that, once defeated, can beadded to your team. Your ultimate goal is to defeat the biggest legend ever:Michael Jordan. To survive the streets, you must learn which buttons to mash as you masterspecific stunts. This will add special points to your score and give you accessto different ways to score. Though similar to NBA Jam and its sequels,Street is deeper, and sports a surprisingly developed finesse game. Street does commit some fouls, though, with its over-the-top, repetitivecommentary and lack of play modes. However, even if you hate arcade-stylebasketball, you'll find Street differs from the pack, making it a solidMVP contender. Pros: Reviews (194)
The graphics really are awesome... If you're a basketball fan, it will be really easy to recognize players in the game. It looks like they actually spent time on the player models individually... Nice touch. If you're going to play the game, I highly reccommend going through the tutorial. It's really helpful and informative, and it shows you everything you need to know. A lot of the gameplay is based on using the top shoulder buttons to perform super-dunks, and fancy-pants moves to fake out defenders. It's really fun once you get the hang of it, and it becomes second-nature faster than you can imagine. The whole system really makes it a ton of fun. But, the game has a few things about it that weren't so great. First off, the load times. Holy CRAP this game loads a lot. It takes a full 5 minutes to get this game loaded, then it loads when you choose a mode, loads your profile, loads the teams, loads the courts, loads the players, etc etc etc. I really think there could have been a way around this, but whatever. The only other thing about this game is that once you beat the single-player mode, you're basically done with it... There's really no reason to keep playing by yourself. However, this is an excellent party game, so if you've got people to play with, this is a safe bet. Overall, this is a game for any basketball fan, and anyone that likes a great party game. It's got a few hiccups, but it's definitely worth the money.
Bottomline...if you are a basketball or NBA fan, you are going to love this game. It is a blast to play. This title is part of EA's BIG line, and it is a sure fire BIG HIT! Buy this one!
fun game
very good game.

Amazon.com Review The pacing of the game is natural, with each objective leading smoothly to the next. You even get to holster your PPK, don a tuxedo, and infiltrate a cocktail party at your adversary's mansion, making small talk with his henchmen, flirting with female party guests, and eavesdropping on secret conversations. Of course, within minutes you'll be shooting your way out of the place to make a daring escape in true 007 fashion, complete with Bond's trademark one-liners. The story line combines espionage, action, and innuendo in just the right proportions to evoke a real Bond-movie atmosphere. The game's overall playability is improved by some nice attention to detail, not the least of which is the addition of smarter and less predictable villains (they can hear you coming, they communicate with each other, and they're better at finding cover and sneaking up behind you). You also have more tactical options (there are many ways to reach each objective, so the game is highly replayable) as well as a better arsenal of gadgets and weapons. And best of all, the multiplayer mode incorporates classic characters from many Bond movies. More than any other 007 game to date, NightFire was designed with the die-hard Bond fan clearly in mind. --Maile Bohlmann Pros: Cons: Note: This review refers to the PlayStation2 version of this game. Reviews (49)
The multiplayer is another option, however. There were some good ideas implimented in the multiplayer portion (bots and lots of cool senarios). However, there is one glaring problem, the weapons are poorly balanced. There are far too many WAY too powerful weapons. I belive that weapons balancing is one of hte most critical parts of a good multiplayer game. Poorly blalanced weapons turns most matches into a game of who has the big gun, not who is the better gamer. It also makes the enjoyment of the multiplayer highly dependent on the set of weapons that you choose, thus eliminating much of the variety that could have been offered. This is pretty much ruined the multiplayer aspect for me. All in all Bond is an above average game; a great single player game teammed up with a truly disapointing multiplayer game. But, that is just my opinion.
Graphics: 5 out of 5 The graphics in this game are superb. The models look exactly like the actors and actresses (except for Q, I don't know what they did with him). The weapons are astounding! You get BOTH a PP7 AND PPK! Awsome! Sound: 5 out of 5 The weapon sounds are awsome, the soundtracks are even better! The only problem is that bond's voice doesn't sound ;like bond, but it's not that bad. The other sounds make up for that. Multi-player: 5 out of 5 Multiplayer is awsome. You get many many many game types to choose from. You also get many James Bond Characters to choose from, such as: Bond (obviously) Electra King and more! You also get classic bond places to choose from such as: Fort Knox (from Goldfinger) and more! Lengthetivity: 4 out of 5 Although you will be playing this game for months, the single-player isn't that long. Fun Factor: 5 out of 5 The best bond game ever. So, buy this game if you are a bond fan! My only complaint is that you don't get the Soviet AK-47, like in all other bonds (especially goldeneye), but the superb weapon designs and sounds make up for it. Buy now!
Save your money. Borow it from a friend. It is not worth a repeat play. ... Read more
