Editorial Review

This is probably the first toy that (no pun intended) pops into your mind when you hear the name Fisher-Price. Maybe this will jar your memory: the Push Toy Corn Popper has a long, blue handle (well, "long" if you're 3 years old), and rolls along on two brightly colored red/orange wheels while making great popping sounds as it bounces brightly colored balls inside a clear plastic bubble that's mounted above the wheels. So much for the technical specifications. There must be some unwritten law that every toddler has to have one of these. And with good reason. They're still fun!--Chris Livesay ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars noisy fun!
We purchased this toy for our son when he was learning to walk (at 9 months of age) and now he's 15 months old and still loves it. It's his favorite toy of all. He pushes it, pulls it, bangs the floor with it, chases the cats with it, gives it to me to push while he watches the "popcorn" pop and even this morning he was sliding it on the dome instead of on it's wheels. YES, it is noisy and it's not fun to have in the background while trying to talk on the phone, but it keeps a busy toddler happy! I wouldn't recommend it as a "learning to walk" toy because it's not 100% stable but for someone who is stable already, I'd highly recommend it!

5-0 out of 5 stars This is one of my son's FAVORITE TOYs!
I bought this for my son when he was 11 months old. He was already walking VERY well and he absolutely *LOVES* this toy! (I would not recommend this to a toddler just learning to walk.)This toy has different colored balls inside and the balls *POP* as the toy gets rolled along the floor. I don't know what it is about this little toy, but he plays with this ALL THE TIME! After reading other reviews, my son never "swings" this toy! He thinks of it more like a vacuum because he sees mommy vacuuming all the time. And some of the reviewers wrote that their children run over their toes??? This is a very lightweight toy. If my son does run into something he simply backs up and goes another way. In that way it is a pretty educational toy that will teach cause and effect. OVERALL - Very Good Toy at Very Nice Price! VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Great toy, especially for those new walkers!!!
Our daughter, who is 13 months, loves this toy! She pushes and pulls it around the house with a big smile on her face. Your new walker will enjoy this toy as well.

LOVE IT!
This toy is still a winner after all these years. Our son now 2 still has great fun with it. He pushes it all over the house, up and down the street etc... He spotted it in a baby depot and started pushing it. Needless to say, it left the store with us popping the whole way. I rated the educational value a 4, pretty high, because I thought it taught cause and effect very well. The toy is durable, cheap, and I highly recommend it.

A physically fun toy!
My daughter would run through the house with this! She's 2 now so not as interested, but it was fun while it lasted. This is not one of those toys that will keep them occupied for hours but all the running they'll do trying to make it make as much noise as possible will definitely help them expend physical energy. Worth the price! ... Read more

103. Linkadoos Healthy Care Deluxe Plus High Chair

Editorial Review

Less a high chair than a full-service child feeding network, the Linkadoos Healthy Care Deluxe provides every possible option you can think of along with a few you probably haven't. Operating under the absolutely correct assertion that it's hard to find time during the day to clean off the eating surface, three different detachable food trays are included, one for each meal. There are toy pouches on either side of the seat, a towel bar on the back, and a baby food jar rack for extra convenience. Seven height adjustments mean that the seat can be used for just about any table and that the tray can be removed entirely in order for this to become a toddler chair. A sunny blue pattern makes the chair as bright and happy as kids are bound to be while sitting in it. Are all these features absolutely essential to a high chair? Not really. But do they make mealtime easier for parent and child? Indeed they do. --Charlie Williams ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great highchair for the money
This highchair is absolutely the best. It has 3 feeding trays that you clip onto the main tray. When you are done feeding Baby, take the tray off and you can put it in the dishwasher, which is great, less work you have to do. The main tray (not the snap-on feeding tray) releases with one hand at the front, so Baby can't reach it and get the tray to come off.

There is a toy on each side of the chair. They are tethered to the chair, so you don't have to worry about them falling on the floor. Additional Link-a-doos toys can be bought. They are between 2 and 5 dollars each. My personal favorites are 20 Piece Links (4 bucks), Fishy Water Teether (2 bucks), Caterpillar Rattle (2 bucks), Teething Ring (2 bucks), and the Bee Teether (3 bucks). FP also has several other Link-a-doos toys that I've yet to get, and it seems like they always have new ones ever time I go to BRU.

The seat pad is also great. It is REALLY COLORFUL!!! It is made of vinyl, but it doesn't feel like that plastic, uncomfortable stuff that most highchairs have. It has a lot of padding, making it super comfortable. It is also very easy to clean, most of the time, just wiping it down it do a sufficient job.

The wheels! They are great because it makes getting the highchair out of the way after feedings much easier, especially if you have Baby in your arms. The wheels also lock so Baby can't kick himself away from the table during lunch time.

A food jar basket, too! This is great because you can stick jars of food in there and Baby can't get to them. The basket is attached to the side of the chair, so the food is right there when you need it. No running back and forth to the pantry or cupboard.

The seatbelt is a must. It keeps Baby in place, no chance of becoming a Houdini when Mom breaks out the Peas!!!

The various height adjustments are great because the highchair can adjust to any table or any chair, Baby can sit with the family at the dinner table or be eye level with whoever is feeding him.

The chair also reclines. This is a must. It kind of makes the highchair like a Baby Lazy Boy! You will get a lot more use out of a highchair if it reclines. This one reclines so that even a little one that can't sit up yet can sit in it. This is a great feature when you're in the kitchen doing dishes and Baby just wants to spend some time with you.

If you like the Healthy Care highchair, you may also like the Healthy Care boooster seat. It is awesome, too, but most of the things Fisher Price has seem to be pretty cool!! :c)

5-0 out of 5 stars great high chair!
My hubby and I bought this hi-chair for our little girl. And, we love it! Not only is it so cute, but it is sooo easy to wheel around! I love that it folds very flat and has a spot to hang the tray. My hubby didn't have much trouble at all putting it together. And, as for the white straps, yes it is a bad color. But, the hi-chair has the bar between the legs so we don't even use the straps. So ours are still white after 6 months! And, it does have a comfy, bunchy padding that food could get stuck in but, I use the vaccuum cleaner to suck it out! Then for messes I spray it down and wipe it off! Very easy. As for the recline, use two hands! Then it won't jerk at all! I also love the trays, and the main tray has the one hand handle as well as the two on the side, so take your pick of which you like best! I also love the little basket, I put bibs in it so there so handy. This is a great high chair!

2-0 out of 5 stars DON'T BUT THIS IF YOU WANT A CLEAN CHAIR
I bought a fisher price high chair with a ruffle seat just like this, and at first I thought it was just great - it adjusts, and the one hand removable tray is super.

HOWEVER, now that my daughter is getting older and messier, this chair is HORRIBLE. The ruffle is always FULL of food, and it is IMPOSSIBLE to clean. I called Fisher Price and spoke to a manager, who said she never heard this complaint before (I can't even believe that, since I have 2 friends that threw out this chair for the same reason!). She could offer no solution other than to cut off the ruffle (wouldn't that still be a mess, but then just look horrible too???). I am throwing it out and have to buy another chair.

If you are looking for a highchair, look for one with a plastic-like surface to the pad and NO RUFFLE.

P.S.. this tray does not fit into my dishwasher, either.

5-0 out of 5 stars great product
This item (as long as you READ the directions) is easy to put together..it took me about 15 mins... the one handed release on the tray is a great feature and it's adjustable heights makes it easy to use in the living room, kitchen, or anywhere else I need to feed my son... the removable, dishwasher safe trays are nice..easy to remove and clean.. as is the seat cushion...Also he loves the attached toys... I've had this product for about a month now and I love it!! It's ridiculous to spend more money on a trendy high chair that your kid's just going to mess up... this is a great high chair ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Works good in my SUV
I like it because the mirror is easy to angle. My baby has to ride on the side, and I can easily adjust it to see him. It is a pain though to have to move and re-adjust everytime I strap his carseat in. My baby must have some strong legs, because he gets the fish moving, and he is only 3-1/2mos old!

1-0 out of 5 stars So disappointing
This product is nothing like the other ocean wonders items. The colors of this item are faded looking. The kick buttons are too hard, I had a hard time making the fish move myself. The mirror on this item is so small I could see nothing. I also had trouble getting this item into my car at a good angle. If you bump it it moves and is annoying to fix again. This product is definitely not worth the money. I returned it and got another one with no kicking but it lights up and plays music. Much better.

4-0 out of 5 stars Works Great on SUV
I have been looking endlessly for a mirror that I can see the baby rear facing and in the middle seat(because they are safer in the middle) I have tried to rig every infant auto mirror to hold a position. Well it worked till I hit my first bump and fell over and left me looking at her cute feet and nothing else. I found this at BRU and figured the concept was good why not try it. After a few different positions it works like a charm!! My only complaint and why I didnt get 5 stars is that you have to be careful when putting baby in and out of the car because it does move but atleast I can see the babys face while she is rear facing!

2-0 out of 5 stars Cheap looking and dissapointing
I found this online and put it on my wishlist for my daughter. I recently was in BRU and decided to look at it up close and boy am I glad I did!
The product itself is really cheap looking. It is nothing at all like the other Ocean Wonders line which is bright and colorful. The fabric on this doesnt allow the colors to be bold and the mirror is really small. Your baby would also have to kick it super hard to get much entertainment from it. I pushed the button to try it out and I had to push very hard to get the fish to barely move.
The main reason we wanted something like this was so we could see our daughter while we were driving and it was an added bonus that she would have fun with the mirror as well. While we were there we found several other types mirrors that were better as toys with bigger mirrors for parents.
Its a waste of money.

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the Best Rescue Hero Vehicles
My son loves this RH toy! It holds lots of guys (a big plus for him) and was easy to assemble (a big plus for me)! I think it stays together much better then the RH airplanes, which I'm always having to put wings and windshields back on. This Ambulance and the Bi-Pod jet are the best of the Rescue Heroes vehicles set!

5-0 out of 5 stars We love it
We love this toy. We were so happy to finally see an ambulance. Otherwise, what does Matt Medic drive???We haven't had any problems with any parts staying on.My son is 3 and is thrilled with this addition to his huge Rescue Heroes collection.

3-0 out of 5 stars Rescue Heroes Ambulance
Not as cool a toy as we had hoped. We have most of the other large vehicles and this one snaps together easily, but for price, not that great an ambulance/rescue hero vehicle.Difficult for the rescue heroes to stay on the fold out sections in the back and the stretcher never stays inside the vehicle.Wench in front does not stay on well either.Pass on this one and purchase the mission select police car, jet or fire truck.Much better values for the money! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Thunder the Brontosaurus
Dinosaurs are the coolest thing that ever happened to Imaginext. While the pirate and medieval themes are cool, this prehistoric theme takes the prize for ultra coolness. The premise here is simple enough.Predators versus non-predators.Carnivores versus herbivores.

Thunder the Brontosaurus is one of the good guys. He's one of the biggest dinosaurs, about twice the size of the triceratops, stegosaurus, and allosaurus. He has posable legs and tail. His long neck can move back and forth, and left and right.Atop his neck, his cute little head can move up and down.A trigger under his belly causes his right foreleg to stomp on the ground, accompanied by sound effects and a dinosaur roar.Thunder has plenty of charisma, displayed in a cute expression on his face.He looks like he's determined to stop those nasty predators from hurting his friends. He has a great paint job of light and dark greens, and the designs on his body add flavor.

On Thunder's back is a really nice saddle for a cave man figure to ride. The included cave man wears a sabertooth tiger skin headdress and carries a club. He's got some great posability in the arms, and his hands do a great job of grasping items.

Also included are three red raptors.Unfortunately, they're not posable like the rest of the dinosaurs are (would've been nice if they were). Each raptor has a different pose.Team them up with Slasher the Allosaurus and Razor the T-Rex, and your predators are ready to rumble with Thunder and the good dinosaurs.

Thunder, his cave-man buddy, and the raptors are durable and constructed from soft plastic.Thunder is a wonderful dinosaur action figure and a great addition to the Imaginext collection. My verdict:thumbs way up!Beware, all you nasty predators!Thunder is here to protect and defend all that is good in the land of the prehistoric. ... This purple and silver electronic lap-book looks worth the sacrifice of foregoing afternoon cartoons--and it is. The two included storybooks ("Ernie's Neighborhood" and "School Skills") fit inside the book and, thanks to microchip technology, kids can read, count, talk, and sing along with characters using a handy stylus as a pointer. They can stop the story whenever they like to figure out words, phrases and puzzles along the way. Buttons for letters, words, music, and "surprises" are within finger-distance, and so is a full reference of capital and lower-case letters. There are also 60 or more learning activities stored in the book, designed for kids between 3 and 8 years (or up to the 2nd grade). Activities range from simple (spelling, telling time, music) to more complex (problem-solving, comprehension, vocabulary). Required: four AA batteries. Diane Beall ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your money!
I got the PowerTouch Learning System for my 3 years old son. He loved that until the day that he got tired of Elm's book. I went to look for the Dora's book and other books to buy for him. The Dora's is not for sale at any store and there are just few different books avaliable in the market. I got really frustated. I wish I had gotten the Leap frog, they have a way more books which keeps the toy very interesting for the kids. Another problem is that while playing with it, my son eventually touch other parts of the book with another areas of his hand when he points a figure, which make the PowerTouch Learning System starting spelling or reading another word instead of the one that he intended, making him confused at first. Even without touching the book, a closer approach to it, is more than enough to activate. Now I like the idea of the pen in the leap frog. I would never buy this toy again!

An attention getter!
We bought this for my 2 1/2 year old son for Christmas. He loved it and still does. He really does not care about the story too much. He mostly likes the music, counting, and pointing to pictures and it tells what the picture is. Its very durable. The only problem is the cartriages are small, but we try to keep the books and cartriages in a back pack. We bought all the books but he loves Ernie's Neighborhood and Blue's Clues the most. It was definately worth it!

Fisher Price does it again
My daughters got this gift for their second birthday even though the age on it is 3-8. At 2 1/2 they are still too young for it, so I really would go with the age limit on this toy. My 2 complaints with this electronic book is the books that go in the toy come in and out ever easily with is very annoying to my toddlers. I can't imagine at 3 they would be any better with the books though. To me, it seems like the system would work better if the books clipped in a bit better. Also some of the books seem "cheap" in their text. Example: Ernie's Neighborhood plays a song, "who are the people in our neighborhood" based on what the child is pointing at. Ernie sings most of the song and then some other voice chimes in with "police man" or "mail carrier", then Ernie continues to sings. Seems to me they could of spent more $$$ on the books development as well.

What I do like about this system is the fact the girls can use their fingers and not a pen to use the books. Plus the girls really seem to like this toy. I hope FP gets some better books soon.

One of my children's favorites!
We'd considered the Leap Pad for my daughter when she was 2 1/2, but decided to go with this one. For one thing, there's no wand or pen with it; it's all done by touch, which is helpful for little ones who haven't perfected their fine motor skills yet. It's also nice, because a wand or pen can be used as a weapon against siblings or parents! I also checked the durability of the books that come with it, because in addition to my daughter we also have an 18 month old, and he would be pulling on the pages. We've never had a page rip yet; they're very strong. My favorite thing about this product, though, is the fact that it even works without a book inserted! The plastic casing itself has the alphabet on it, so you can push the letters and play even when the insert books have been temporarily misplaced.

My daughter is 3 now, and has played with this nonstop for the last 6 months, and her younger brother (18 months) adores it as well. My children aren't "gifted" or anything; I'd say they're prefectly average, and they're able to work the Power Touch very easily, yet not so easily that they get bored. I highly recommend this product!

Do not recommend
I do not recommend purchasing the Power Touch Learning System because there have been no new books developed that I can see. And, at the back of some of the books it shows a Dora Explorer Book, and an additional Clifford book that are not offered anywhere, my son and I look in every store, I have searched the web and search engines. Basically Fisher-Price is not supporting this system, so I wish I had purchased the Leap Frog system. Although the Leap Pad we had when my son was younger had some problems with the stylus not touching correctly and giving incorrect answers, at least it has plenty of books and support. My son is 4 years old, has done all the Power Touch books and doesn't use it anymore, he's become bored with all the same books, he rather play with his old Leap Pad. And in the stores, you quickly see how much more there is available for the Leap Frog, and I think the stylus is also a great learning tool for practicing holding pencils/pens. Hopefully Fisher-Price will introduce new books soon, and this problem won't be such an issue. ... Read more

Go-Kart vs. Little 4 wheeler
I agree with the button being too hard to push (and keep pushing) and my son has had several experiences with accidentally pushing the button while trying to get in and out of the vehicle. My son also has the small four wheeler for 12-36 months and he enjoys it much more than the go-kart. The button is much easier to push and he can steer it better. He prefers the 4 wheeler and they are the same price (the 4 wheeler is actually a little cheaper I think)...GO FOR THE 4 WHEELER!!! I prefered the go-kart since it has the high seat back but my son has never had any problems without one on the four wheeler. Hope this helps! =o)

Absolutely adorable
This is so cute and my 21 month old loves it. I didn't buy it thru Toy's R Us because I didn't want to pay to ship it and the Toys R Us's near me only carries the boy one. I purchased it at Meijers instead for the same price. I put it together myself and it wasn't too hard. I was to anxious and didn't want to wait for my husband. My daughter took to it and soon after a few hours she was a pro. I have to stay with her because it only takes wide turns so I am constantly turning her around. There is no reverse or anything. One concern I have is that everytime she goes to climb in she presses the button that is on the steering wheel and the car starts to drive and a few times she has fallen or gotton her leg stuck. I am hoping since it is still new she will learn she cant press it but they dont quite get the concept that they have to stop pressing the button and I wish there was a removable cover over it. Other than that it is so cute and she follows my older daughter around as she drives her Barbie Jeep. This is a great item and what really mattes is how happy my daughter is.

Great outdoor fun!
I got this toy as an Easter gift for my daughter (who is now 17 months). She loved it the minute she sat in it. I read other reviews stating that the "go" button was hard for toddlers to push, but my little girl has no trouble. The only trouble I have is keeping up with her. I know it sounds crazy since it only goes 2 mph, but I have to help her steer. Thank goodness this is not an insight on her future driving skills! By the way, assembly for this is very easy. I did it without the help of my mechanically inclined husband in LESS than 30 minutes.

amazing
It was pretty expensive and we went over our monthly budget but when I see my daughter driving it and seeing her face smile I just love it so much! she's 18 months right now and it amazes me that she was able to drive it around, push the button even. I didnt know it goes with a girlie color, I was given the orange one but I don't mind as long as she's happy when she drives it. I can't wait to have her drive it in the park.

Love this toy!!!
We purchased this toy for our daughter who is paralyzed from the chest down. It's perfect for her to get around the back yard in. With the "gas" on the steering wheel, she can run around just like her brother's and sister's can!!!!!
The push button is easy to use. It doesn't go too fast or in reverse. It's very safe for her. She's just now two years old and big for her age, it fits her perfectly.
We will be very very sad when she outgrows it and we have to find another way for her to get around in the yard. ... Read more

The Pixter is like a personal digital assistant (PDA) for kids. But instead of storing boring appointments and phone numbers, they get to draw, do puzzles, and learn a little, too. The Pixter is about the size of a small book, and has a pretty solid weight to it. It's made out of brightly colored and durable plastic. The main action of this toy is drawing with an attached stylus. The Color Pixter offers much better graphics then the black and white version, which comes in handy with activities like Paint-by-Numbers and Connect-the-Dots. You can draw a picture free form, or you can use one of the starter backgrounds. There are tool buttons, like on a PDA, that give you access to fun stamps, special effects, and the eraser button. You can also save your creation in the Pixter's memory. We LOVE It !!!!
My 2 year old was given the Pixter from her aunt right before we moved out of state,We love it!Shes 2 and can find her way around websites better than most 20 year olds but I thought this might be a little harder, well I was wrong, she taught me how to use and shes 2! I recommend this for all toddlers b/c they will want to learn how to use it and when they do its worth it when they come to you with a big smile and show you what they did!!!!

The best everything toy
My son recieved this for christmas and he has not put it down since. He is 3 years old and just loves everything about it. He counts and recognizes numbers and just loves it. I highly recommend this toy for children. We haven't left the house without it since we got it.

Great Toy
I bought the Color Pixter for my 6 year old at Christmas and she loves it. I am glad I paid the extra and got color. My only complaint is the lack of additional software. I talked to Mattel/Fisher Price and was told that they sold so much of these products at Christmas they are behind in getting the stores stocked with the software (I was afraid they had quit making them). We did get one of the black & white software cartridges and it wasn't worth the time or money, I'll hold out for the color. Hard to tell how educational without additional software. As for durability, so far so good. Great entertainment!

Great toy!
I purchased the Pixter Color for my daughter. She just loves it! The color cartidges are hard to find. I was able to purchase the Dinodraw, Barbie & SpongeBob for Christmas. They are typically sold out so you have to keep checking. Fisher Price does make a carrying case for the pixter color and all of your cartidges. It is a MUST HAVE because this is an expensive toy but a wonderful one. The case keeps the pixter and the cartidges safe and clean. (I bought it [online]) My daughter brought her pixter on a long car trip and really enjoyed it. She also brings it to her brother's wrestling tournaments which can be very long and boring for a little girl. It is a great toy. I will purchase additional color cartidges when available! Enjoy!!

The favorite toy under the tree!
I bought this for my 4 year daughter for Christmas this year. She is really into coloring and drawing, so this appeared to be the perfect gift for her.

This is definitely for the 'under 8' crowd. As a matter of fact my FOUR YEAR OLD has mastered this in two days! When I say mastered, I'm referring to the ability to use Pixter unsupervised. She will ask questions here and there, but it surely didn't take long for her to figure out what each of the icons do. So I will even go further and say that I can see the 4-6 age group reaping the most benefits from this without getting bored.

There was mention in a previous review about no "undo" feature....it DOES have this feature, but you may only undo once. Still, it has the feature so you may 'erase' what you just did without erasing the entire picture.

For each of my nieces I purchased the Pixter 2.0 for Christmas, the black and white Pixter. I must say that I'm glad I spent the extra money and purchased the color version for my daughter. The pixels appear to be greater which makes the quality of the pictures so much better. The color choices when coloring is probably the best feature. My daughter likes the built in coloring-by-number feature the best. She also love the ability to use all the built in stamps to add to her pictures. To me it's like a elementary computer Paint program....

Now...educational? Not necessarily, but it has potential depending on the cartridges you buy. For example, I purchased the Barbie Color, the Spongebob Color, and on clearance I bought a b&w "learning fun" cartridge. The Barbie and Spongebob are games, plain and simple. My daughter enjoys them, especially the Barbie one, but aside from a matching game I don't see these as educational. The 'learning fun' cartridge lets your child practice writing upper and lower case letters and numbers. There is more to this cartridge, but we haven't delved into the entire cartridge yet as it IS in black and white and doesn't hold my daughter's interest as well. Based on this cartridge I WILL be buying the new COLOR Smart Start cartridge, which appears to be an updated version of this b&w one.

I realize that since this product is fairly new that the accessories are probably still in the works, but I would love to see a carrying case for the Color Pixter. I am hesitant to allow my daughter to carry this around outside of the house for fear of dropping it. At $80 it's a chance I don't want to take. I also would love to see a bigger selection in software....dinosaurs and Rescue Heroes holds no appeal to my daughter and that leaves a VERY limited selection for girls in my opinion.

All in all, if your child is a budding artist this is a great tool for them and it will hold their attention. I have to be honest in saying that my daughter's number one request for Christmas was "go go my walking pup" and didn't even know what Pixter was......Go-Go is sitting still under the tree all alone and Pixter Color is the favorite. It's the toy she picked to take to her cousin's house...(she gets to pick ONE toy to take)

I'm glad I purchased this and I would do it again...... ... Read more

Great toy for the money!
This Geotrax add-on is great. At first I thought we would be going through batteries like I owned a battery store but it turns out the batteries last a long time and it has an auto shut down switch if you child walks away from the train. We were considering the wooden trains but for the price this set was a better deal. This set actually made noises and had track switch options. We continue to buy add-ons. Our son loves his train set. ... Read more

Fun for girls too!
My twin girls received this fire truck as a gift for Christmas when they were 13 mo. old. They got the biggest kick out of it! They loved the fact that they could make it talk and move and put the people in and out. Now that they are 16 mo. old, they have more imagination and can use it together with some of the other little people sets (such as the fire station). The sounds are good quality, it moves on carpet, and is a wonderful first fire truck. Great product!

COOL TOY
My 12 month old loves this truck. It was easy for him to move around. It is also tough enough to withstand the abuse a little boy gives his toys. BUY THIS TOY!!

Great first fire engine!
My 21 month old son likes this fire truck much better than the retired one that fisher price had out. It is easy for him to work. My 3 and 5 year olds even play with it sometimes. If your little one loves trucks this would be a great first fire engine. ... Read more

My little man loves it!!!
We bought this toy for my son for easter he was 6 months old. I wasn't sure he would really pay much attention to it. But he loves it. At first he would just take the top off and chew on it or just watch me as I put the shapes in saying the names and colors. Then he found out he could take the blocks out...which is his favorite thing to do now. I put them in and he takes them out and puts the bucket on his face and yells in it and jus laughs and then he puts a block in it and bangs it around. He loves it. And I love the shapes and bright colors. This toy will last a long time and can be used in many different ways.
As far as the lid coming off too easy well yeah but it's supposed to....that is part of learning...A 6 month old has to be able to get the blocks out on their own.
I would recommend this toy to a parent looking for something that will last for a long time and is fun and educational.

It Keeps Giving as the Months Go On !
We let dd use to dump things out of at a few young age. Then as time went on, she was able to "put things in" the bucket and also dump out. Then she started to recognize shapes and used as a shape sorter. Then at 18 months old, she started to use as a learning tool for reciting colors. Now at 20 months we are working on the names of the shapes.

It is a fantastic toy. I read some of the other reviews stating that the cover came off too easily. I'm actually glad it goes on and off so easily - it allows dd to do things on her own sometimes and. Yes she too has little spats sometimes that she doesn't want to keep the cover on the container - - however we work with it and just lay the cover on the floor and try to have her fill the spaces with all blue blocks or all read blocks.

The only complaint that I have (and it's minor at that) is when using as a shape sorter, sometimes the blocks get stacked up on top of each other inside the container, so that by the time dd gets to the last few shapes, they don't go in right away until you shake the container to rearrange the blocks inside (making room for the new blocks to fall in). This sometimes frustrates dd - - again though it is very minor compared to all the great things this toy has to offer.

It keeps giving and giving and giving !

5-0 out of 5 stars Great toy, good price.
I tend to buy mostly wooden toys and toys made of high quality materials for my daughter but, I thought I would give this one a try. I must say I was pleasantly surprised! This toy has been washed several times, and still looks almost brand new! My daughter first became interested in the toy at about 4 months--first simply bitting on the blocks, then later taking all the blocks out of the container, and now at 15 months she has really began using the shape sorter! I must say that I am glad the lid comes off so easily, it allows her to work at her own pace, and allows less interuption of her play from me. If she is given the opportunity to play with this toy with only minimal distraction from me, she will get almost all the shapes in without assistance. Since the lid comes off so easily, she can just dump the shapes out very easily. She also likes to put her hands into the shape holes so she takes the lid off in order to remove the lid from her hand. For the parents who were disappointed that their children didn't use the shape sorter right away. Have patience and guide the child, but do not try to force them to play the way "they should." It may take several months, but eventually they will notice that the shapes fit into the holes. Let them work at their own pace. Have faith and show encouragement and help them build their self confidence by guiding them. I think you will be very surprised at just how smart your children really are!

5-0 out of 5 stars Top is supposed to come off easily!
The reason the top comes off easily is so that your CHILD can remove it himself without trouble. This way, the CHILD gets to decide how to play with the toy. When he's old enough to put the lid on himself, he's ready to start shape sorting if he chooses. If not, buckets of blocks are fun, too. Playing with toys should be about the child, not about the grownup deciding how to play with it. Reading the reviews of this toy is frustrating!!

5-0 out of 5 stars So now there are rules for how a baby should play?????
We have an older version of this toy (only three different shapes on ours) that we have had since my second child was a baby. Now baby number six is using it and they ALL have loved it! It's one of the few toys I've saved between kids and I'll most likely keep it for all my future kids and grandkids!

I take issue with the complaints that children don't play with the toy "properly". Are we dictating how children should play, now, too, as well as learn?? Even babies have to follow the rules and do things according to someone else's pre-determined idea of "proper development"? PLEASE!! Let's let babies be babies. True learning is self-directed, not teacher or parent directed.

Yes, toddlers usually prefer to dump the blocks out and put them back in without the lid at first, maybe for quite a while. They also love putting other stuff in the bucket. What's wrong with that? When they're older they usually figure out the shape-sorting aspect on their own and become enthralled with that for a while. If they never use the toy as a shape-sorter so what? They'll still learn their shapes on their own without you "teaching" them and they'll learn whatever other "skills" this toy is supposed to teach as well. Can we not try to controll our kids' learning at such a young age - there's enough of that later for most kids.

This toy is a useful learning tool, though not neccesarily in the way every parent will want. It's also fun and relatively cheap and more durable than a cardboard box or some homemade alternatives. If you can allow your child to use it as they desire I highly recommend it. If you feel your toy "investment" must pay off with a pre-determined "learning objective" on a pre-determind timetable then maybe you better skip it. ... Read more

Beware - you may need a 12V System Battery Charger
The review by Amanda Richards prevented me from purchasing the wrong charger. I was about to place my order when I read it. I did need the 12V System Battery Charger which charges two 6V Rechargeable Batteries at the same time, not the Super 6V Battery Charger which only charges one battery at a time.

It is unfortunate that the site does not show all options for Battery Chargers for this product. This would allow the consumer to do their homework prior to placing their order and a happy consumer is typically a returning consumer.

Move cautiously before ordering. Thank you Amanda for your insight.

Wrong Connector
We mispalced the charger for my son's Lil Quad and bought this Fisher Price replacement charger. The package says it is for their 6-volt batteries. We brought it home and it had the wrong connecting end on it. It came with a adapter but it was still the wrong end. Luckily we found the old connector and returned the new one.

Beware of Incomplete Description
It's hard to rate an accessory like a battery charger under the categories "fun", "educational value" and "durability". After all, how much fun can a battery charger possibly be?
My first charger went bust after a few years (with infrequent use), so durability is not at the highest level.

Caution - The description on this item is incomplete, and not as informative as it should be.

The Power Wheels Jeep requires two 6V batteries, and comes with a charger that charges both batteries at the same time. The Super 6-Volt battery charger is described as a "replacement charger for the 6-volt batteries that run Power Wheels toys", and is listed by Amazon as an accessory to the 6V Power Wheels battery.

Please be warned that this charger only charges ONE battery, a significant little fact that is not mentioned until you get the item, where the box clearly states " For 6-Volt or Super 6-Volt system with one battery." For non-technical people like myself, the inclusion of that wording in the description would have saved me a lot of time and energy, and I would have bought the correct charger in the first place.

The correct battery charger for Power Wheels vehicles with two 6V batteries is the 12V System charger, which can also be found at Amazon for the same price.
(Note: you need the 12V SYSTEM charger and not the 12V charger, which is for the 12V batteries.)

Don't be misled like I was, and get it right the first time. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Interactive Toy for Toddlers!
I love the Learn Through Music! You can adjust the volume on the back (where the on/off switch is located). There are two volume levels. My son is 22 months old, and he received this gift last Christmas. He loves the Sesame Street characters, and he will "rediscover" it every couple of days and sit and play with it by himself. However, I have had a hard time finding the Elmo Counting Cartridge. If you invest the money in buying this product, you should buy additional cartridges so they don't get bored with the one that comes with it. Hope this helps!

2-0 out of 5 stars Great toy but TOO loud
This is a favorite toy among my children ages 2-6. I thought it would be a great toy to bring in the car so they could play with it while waiting. BAD idea, it is so loud, I can barely hear anything else. Otherwise, it's very durable (we have 7 children), it's lasted through being dropped, stepped on, fought over, etc. I put a pc of tape over the speaker, which has helped a little, but now the younger one can't play with it (she eats the tape).

2-0 out of 5 stars a little loud and good for two and up
My daughter rec'd this toy when she was just over one years old. she has issues with using the mic, you must hold the button down to make the mic work. i also wished that the volume was able to be adjusted.

1-0 out of 5 stars Pages don't correspond w/the Songs
I'm just glad we didn't have to spend our money on this toy. The Sesame Street version was given to my 2yr old as a gift. The pages don't advance like they are suppose to. She is trying to learn the alphabet starting w/A and it's on Y. Elmo pops up to sing at all the wrong places. The music is great though and she follows along w/the singing of the alaphabet and sings right into the microphone but as far as the page being in the right place when talking about the letter its not. Main problem is the songs don't correspond w/what the page is showing. I've replaced the batteries twice thinking that was the problem but it turns out it's not.

1-0 out of 5 stars lots of fun
My son doesnt spend more than 2 minutes on each toy, except on
this one. He loves this toy. We bought him all the cartridges,
and we rotate them. He doesnt use the microphone.. but everything works great and has endured lots of hits.
I would recommend this to everyone (from 18 months- 3 years) ... Read more

I wish I had this toy when I was little!
This is such a great toy! My daughter opened it right after Thanksgiving and we kept it under the tree for her to play with. Having Santa and Mrs. Claus both was a treat. It was sad to pack them away after New Year's. But the white box they came in makes it SO easy to put away AND hide. We love the Little People line. You can never have too many ideas to play with!

White Box
Who really cares about the white box. Open it up and look inside. The little people products have always proven to be quality products...whether packaged cutely in hard to get out packages or a simple white box.

White box-so what!
I guess my kids are different from all of your's. Mine don't stop at the box when unwrapping. They go straight in and investigate everything!

As far as I'm concerned, the plain box make the suspense last a little longer. It's kind of a let-down when you've unwrapped the box and it's obvious what's inside before you open it. No need to go on then. When I was a kid, we used to have to try and guess what was in the box before we unwrapped the gift. It made it even more fun and slowed down the greedy unwrapping frenzy that occurs on Christmas morning.

Besides, the plain box makes it easier to hide what's in it from little eyes before Christmas! I don't get to shop without my 2 yr old, so it gets tough to hide her gifts from her! Also, we don't have much "out of sight" storage space for hiding things.

A great chirstmas toy
I have lots of Christmas decoration that the kids want to touch and play with but Can't!! This is one toy that also makes a Great Chirstmas Decoration, that the kids can play with!!! It's very durable and fun for all ages, my 5 yrs old like playing with Santa & sleigh, my 2 yr old like the building and the present that opens & my 1 yr old loves pushing the Christmas tree and hearing the music. I plan on packing it away with the Christmas decoration, so next year they have their own Decoration that they can enjoy setting it up themselves & I don't have to worry about it breaking.

I agree with the other post this toy came in a plain white box my son unwrap it and toss it to the side because he didn't know what it was (unlike other toys as soon as they open it saw what it was) it really needs better packaging for gift giving.

Toy comes in a generic white box!!!
I saw this toy at Target and it was in a regular colorful Little people box. When I was placing my other christmas orders, I decided to include this as well from Amazon. Well It does not come in a regular box. It comes in a white generic box, just all the pieces jammed together in the box. It is the same price here as it was at Target so I recommend buying it from Target. ... Read more

Designed to encourage early role play, this small, colorful playground is centered on a giant tic-tac-toe board, with rolling x's and o's, that sits atop a yellow, open-air sandbox. Michael can climb the ladder to the upper platform while Sarah Lynn goes down the red slide and giggles. Other fun features include a musical merry-go-round, a purple tire swing, and a yellow tricycle. This would be an entertaining, developmentally rich toy for preschoolers. Great Toy.
Our daughter loves all her Little People toys. They are durable and easy to clean. They are great fun for her & all are wonderful.

Lots of fun!
My daughter received this toy for her second birthday. She enjoys it thoroughly, especially the merry go round and the tic tac toe board. This toy has been known to travel along with us in the car and has kept the teddy bears company as well! Along with her other Little People toys, this one is definately a hit!!

A must have for your Little People collection
This set is so cute ... and my children (4, 3 and 1) love this set as it's just like the playground equipment they visit at our local park ... so they make the Little People do exactly what they like to do when they go to the park.

It's easy for my children to put the Little People in and out of the tire swing and on the little Merry Go Round. The Merry Go Round has music and you can hear laughter from another button at the top of the slide. The tic-tac-toe game also spins and makes a great noise as well (my 1 year old particularly likes that part!). The 1 year old also finds it easy to put the Little People on and off the bike.

As we have found with all our Little People sets - this set is extremely durable and easy to clean ... a perfect addition to your Little People collection.

We LOVE this!!
I was so excited to see that my 20 month old got this for Christmas from his grandmother! It is the cutest toy--It has a play structure, including a merry-go-round, slide, even the little tic-tac-toe rotating blocks like they have at a real playground. There is also a little tire swing, and it comes with a tricycle. The two people that come with it are so cute also. My son's favorite feature is the fact that when you push a button at the top of the slide, you hear children's laughter. He cracks up everytime the button is pressed.

This is such a great toy, and a wonderful addition to your Little People collection! ... Read more

Very Fun!!
My son absolutly loves this toy. He loves that he can look at himself in the mirror and enjoys gumming the attached frog rattle. For the price, this is a very good toy.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great price!
I bought this toy for my son when he was 2 months old. He just loves this turtle, even now at 5 months old. He gets very exicted when he plays with this toy. He loves to look at himself in the mirror and likes to suck on the links. It is very hard to find a good toy under $20.

5-0 out of 5 stars Makes tummy time more fun!
My 3 1/2 month old has had this turtle for about a month. I wanted to get her a mirror so she could see herself and a lot of baby mirrors I found were very distorted looking. When far away this mirror doesnt look clear but when you are up close it is.

I also really liked the turtle as well. It has a cute face and a lot of interesting things to touch and explore. The back is a satin "bean bag" type of cusion and it has paded arms to either pick up or dangle other linkadoos from.

This has made tummy time more enjoyable, now instead of crying every time she is observing herself and the turtle and can be on her tummy for a longer period of time. ... Read more
