5-0 out of 5 stars A great game for building many skills
I bought this game for my 2 year old son and have been very pleased. His occupational therapist introduced it to him to help him with his fine motor skills. It takes two hands to put the little coins in the slot (one to hold the coin and one to hold the barn) and a little strength to pull the lever to get the coins out. Even though he is too young to play the game, he loves to match the animals to the cards. It has been great to teach him the animal names and sounds, too. He loves to play and it will grow with his cognative abilities. We highly recommend this toy!

speech therapist recommended
My daughter, who turns 2 this july, goes to speech therapy. The therapist pulls out this game to try to get my little one to not only speak, but to put the coins in the slot (follow direction), take them out, match them up, learn animals and colors. Also to take turns. This is a Wonderful teaching game! Please note the coins a small, and could be a choking hazard. But overall I recommend this game.

Wonderful first game
This is a great first game. It is very short in duration and teaches the basics of game playing (taking your turn, wining, following rules) without being overly involved or lengthy. The bingo chip dispenser is great fun for toddlers and makes the game very enticing. I highly recommend this game! However, I think that this game is probably more appropriate for 2-4 year olds than 3-6 year olds. I've played this with several 2 years olds and they've gotten the game immediately. This was some of the best 9 dollars that I've spent and will be giving this as a gift many times.

Great game for little ones!
I would recommend this because I have a 4- and a 5-year-old. They love playing this game together and I don't even have to be there right beside them. It allows them to play together independent of me! They also really enjoy playing the game. We would purchase it again!

New take on bingo for little ones
This game is fun to play . 3 of my 4 children like to play it when they have nothing else to do. ... Read more

Awesome for learning to play with imagination
My daughter is two and loves this doll! She memorized the first day all of the sayings! It teaches a small amount of spanish, which is a great start for a child to learn. My daughter loves to pretend play with Dora. I feel this has expanded my daughters imagination play out more! Great toy!!

It's Dora!
This is a very well made doll. It's cute and perfect for our little 3 year old. This doll helps her with her role playing, which she is doing alot of now. And she acts out scenes with this doll and Boots (9 inch cuddly doll). The hair keeps well.

This Dora doll is very adorable!
My 18-month-old loves her Dora doll! She says several cute phrases, including a couple in Spanish. The backpack, bracelet, and surprise are a real treat too. We haven't had her long, so I don't know how well she will hold up, but this toy is made by Fisher-Price so I'm sure it will last for awhile. ... Read more

Great toy, worth the extra money for lights and sounds!
We bought this for our son's first birthday. He LOVES it! I wasn't sure if the lights and sounds were worth the extra money (above the older version of this toy) but it definitely was! The music and lights are what make this toy one of his favorites! He loves to sit on it and rock. It's great that the music starts (in ROCK mode) as soon as he moves it. I can see that this toy will be one of his favorites for a while! I also like that this is a good replacement for a regular rocking horse....we don't need one now since we have this. Plus, this will be used for many more years than a small rocking horse. We'll probably get him a wooden one when he's 3 or 4 years old, but for now this is enough rocking for him!

Horrible
The foot pedals disappear and my sons feet drag and go under if parents don't notice right away which is painful. The handle for parents doesn't stay in place which is a pain. And it is almost impossible for parents to turn when they are dealing with kids who still can't steer or pedal yet. My husband and I took our son outside with it once and never again. It isn't safe since it is such a struggle for parents to turn we have to practically drag it from left to right and since it doesn't have a seat belt my son almost fell off the side. He only uses it to rock on at home and will not be using it outside until he can pedal and steer on his own.

Extremely pleased
I bought this bike for my twin nephews for Christmas this past year. They were only 11 months old but loved them as they had just started walking and could climb all over them. Now that they are really mobile they love to push them while they are outside. It is great for them and easy on mom. The noises are great and one loves to rock to the music while the other likes to figure everything out on it. Definitely a great purchase!

Great item, but watch for the windshield
My 18 month old daughter received this item for Xmas. As she gained more confidence in rocking on it, she would rock faster/harder. As a result, she has had serious bumps and bruises from her head hitting the windshield. I have since removed the windshield. This has not used this as a tricycle yet, The musical capabilities are cute and not annoying for indoor use.

Three-in-one!
Gift was for our 1 year old grandson from a close friend of the family. It only took two (2) days for our grandson to figure out how to rock with it! The noises were appealing to him and not annoying to us. His mommy put the item together by herself within 20 minutes. Very easy to assemble. Can get himself off with some help from us but needs help getting on. Age bracket of 18 mos - 3 years is a good bracket. We have another grandson who will turn 1 in May. He will be getting one for his birthday as well. I love the idea of giving them their "first big wheel"! Don't have to wait until they are older. This toy grows with the child. ... Read more

Editorial Review

Designed to encourage early role play, this small, colorful amusement park is centered on a roller-coaster track that winds around a sharp curve. When the roller-coaster car hits the purple star that hangs from above, a monkey drops into a dunk tank. ("Ooh-ee-ah!") Sonya Lee can ride the freestanding, two-person rocket ship, while Smiley the Clown collects tickets or listens to music coming from the twirling teacups. This would be a fun, developmentally rich toy for preschoolers. Required, but not included, are three AA batteries. --Andy Boynton ... Read more

Fun and Cute!
I bought this for my 23 month old daughter yesterday, she LOVES it. She was so excited while I was putting it together. She will be keeping this at Grandma's house (she spends about 3 days a week there). My daughter especially loved the car ramp, she was over-joyed when I showed her this feature.

I also bought two extentions to this set (Little People Music Ferris Wheel & Little People Parading Pals), each of these are so cute and fun.

My daughter's Aunt thought it was such a cute toy (I think she will play with it too and she is 35!). Of course I am looking forward to playing with it myself. :)

I think this is a great investment. If something changes I'll edit this review.

For one player only
This is a cute toy, but if more than one child will be playing with it, get ready to rumble! There is only one car to go down the ramp (the highlight of the Fun Park), so it immediately created a problem when my two children began to play with it. They share pretty well, but this toy created unnecessary tension and spoiled the fun. These types of Little People toys used to come with at least two cars, so I have no idea why they would be so cheap as to include just one car and two "people."

Good bang for the buck
Bought for my 1 and 2.5 year olds. Helps youngest learn how to turn knobs, depress plunger, lift lever, snap together basic components, place little people in the ride seats and the car on top of the ramp. It also teaches cause and effect -- car goes down ramp, noises are heard and toy component drops down. The plunger toy component is very cool -- does not fling little people in any harmful way. Both boys get a good laugh out of this toy.

Almost Good
More like 2 1/2 stars in each catagory. I recently bought this to add to the enormous collection of little people toys my son already has. I think he has somewhere in the neighborhood of 100 Little People alone. I have many of the playsets and this is one of the mediocre sets. As with similar merry-go-round toys from FP the Little People end up in the dog food dish when my son cranks it up. Fllinnggg! I don't know if its possible to put an eye out with a little person but my son is unusually strong for his age and gets a certain joy out of watching things fly that were not meant to. If they can hit me in the face then.. I suppose they could hit him too. I need to be especially attentive when he has this toy out in the livingroom. ... Read more

Total piece of crap
What a piece of crap this "toy" is. My son is soooo not into this. He's 20 months and hasn't been interested for the last 10 months. Do NOT waste your money.

Great toy!!
My daughter is 11 months & she absolutely loves playing with this toy. I showed her how to put the block in the giraffe & she's got the hang of it. Sometimes she gets frustrated when the giraffe falls over, but once you set it back up, she's happy again.

Tippy Giraffe
This toy is too narrow and tips over all the time. My daughter lost interest with it (even when she was 9 months old) when it fell over. I have tried bringing it out again now that she is older, but she still doesn't like the giraffe. I would suggest a different block toy like the elephant that has a "chute" in the head that blocks can drop through.

Get the wagon instead
We have the peek-a-blocks wagon which my son just adores. I was on the look-out for another hit toy and was seduced by the cuteness of the giraffe. My 8 month old son obviously thinks it is very lame--he doesn't even give it a passing glance. It is very unstable and uninteresting. Get the wagon instead and save your cash!

Excellent toy!
Our 11 month old son still loves this toy. He has figured out how to put the blocks in as well as how to poke his finger in and push the button that starts the music :) Thats gotta be educational! ... Read more

Fun 'til it falls over!
Both my one year old and my three year old love this toy! However, whenever the one year old tries to push the top buttons, the whole station falls over. I think they could have made a whole station that opens by splitting in half. My brothers had an FP one in the eighties with a hinge in the middle, so that kids can use both sides and it doesn't fall over. The best feature of the current one is that the fireman can come down a chute straight into the truck. My oldest was especially thrilled by that feature since he really wants a firepole in his own room.

Pretty Decent Toy
I bought this for my 19 month old son, who has a fascination with large trucks, especially those with lights! He loves to push the little buttons to make the noises, but hasn't gotten the idea that he has to push them all the way down to get the doors to work. He likes both of the vehicles, and does put the people in and out of them. I think it's very cute, but the noises might end up driving some parents crazy. I have just learned to tune out the toys(...)

A little disappointed
My son (2yrs.) gets frustrated because the people just set in the vehicles(they are not like the other Little People)and they tend to fall out.
We have the Ramps Around Garage and thought this would be a nice addition to that, but the fire truck and ambulance wheels are too wide to work on the Garage.
Other than those things we really enjoy this toy.

More Little People to Love
My son received this for Christmas and it's a great addition to our Little People collection.

It fits perfectly with the garage if you have it to make a city centre. My son (1) and his sisters (4 and 3) love the buttons on top which activate the different sirens for Ambulance or Fire and then also used to open the garage doors when there is an "emergency" for the little people to get to.

As with all Little People sets, they are extremely durable (even when thrown clear across the room), completely interchangable between Little People sets, easy to keep clean and most importantly - provides hours of fun for role play which is only limited to your imagination.

Great fun!

a huge hit
My 3-year old grandson plays with this toy the entire time he is visiting me. he loves pushing the buttons and hearing the sounds and having the doors open. It is very durable!!! The ambulance and firetruck have fallen many, many times from a high place--nothing has broken off. The nurse and fireman have been carried around in dog's mouth. The doors have opened hundreds of times. They work every time. I have recommended this toy to others. For the money it is great entertainment. ... Read more

An education in frustration
A 5 yr old's life is frustrating enough. Waiting not so patiently for papa to get done with his chores so he can go watch the kids skate. The time has finally come. Every 30 seconds ... papa, the straps are loose again. Thank goodness they aren't to the point of skating down our somewhat steep street. They would break their neck with these straps coming undone.

I bought two sets for my two 5 yr olds and the straps keep coming undone on both sets. The tensioning clasp just doesn't stay snapped shut. I looked high and low for a good pair of skates with features that I wanted, an inline with training wheels. These looked like the ticket, and I ignored the reviews as I couldn't fine others with these features. That's what I get for ignoring the reviews.

... Overall the skates look like a good design but are rendered useless with the always opening clasps. ... A locking strap clasp would be an easy modification. ..

4 year old loves it!
I bought this for my 4 year olds birthday in April and they have been great. I haven't had any problems with the closures holding, they appear to be pretty strong. I wasn't thrilled with how bulky they look but my son thinks they are pretty cool. I think the skates are a good way to start learning to in-line skate.

Faulty closures!! Do not recommend.
These skates do not allow much fun because every time my son gets going they come undone. The buckles(closures)do not stay shut. He cannot wear them at all because of this, I am constantly closing the buckles. I was so excited about getting these for him for christmas, and I turned out getting him a pair of the fisher price my first skates. I recommend if your childs foot will still fit in the fisher price my first skates to get those because these are not worth it. I was very disappointed in these because I like the look a lot more, than the fisher price my first skates, but oh well, the fisher price work better, and I have to go with that.I hope this helps.

Don't waste your money

Great for Blue's Clues fans!
I bought this for my son's 2nd birthday and he absolutely loves it.

The toy measures approximately 12" tall; the arms are outstretched, so technically it is around 10.5" wide. I wanted to know this information when I was shopping, and am sure others will too.

The stomach holds the batteries & microphone and is therefore hard; however, the fabric is very soft to the touch so my son still loves to sleep with it at night.

When you squeeze Blue's hand she says many different phrases. Some of them are: "Hi you, there's so much we can do", "I can boogie" "I love you, I love you, I love you *kissing sound*", "I can pretend with you" "You're a good friend" "What a great team we are, don't you think?", "Let's talk again", and countless more.

If you have a child that is in love with Blue's Clues (as mine is), then this is definitely a great toy for them at a fantastic price. ... Read more

Very disappointed
We bought these skates for our 5 year old. She could barely skate in them. They are too big and bulky for children just learning to skate. We returned them and have yet to find another pair.

Not good skates!
We bought these for our 4 yr old and were disappointed with them. Too big and hard to handle, however, we picked up a pair of the basic plastic pair that her shoe can also fit in and she did great! After they get the hang of those, the Barbie adjustable inline skates are great! They are $ and well worth it! Stay away from the "learn to inline skates" though! Luckily the store took those back!

poor quality

It's a great toy!
My son Logan (7) says:
Its a great toy. It has a place for the pirates to sleep, shelter, etc. I use it with my other Imaignext sets for battles. It stays set up in my room for days! I recommend this toy!

We had to buy TWO!!!!
The kids went CRAZY over this one! First the hole in the sand! HOW cool!! All the animals fit, the guys, treasure, or even just the swords and stuff! A great idea! We also like the Tiki hut roof and the log walls, sand floors are really cool and the palm tree rocks!

Our creative kids created two sand islands with the sets (Pirate ship added for more walls and floors, and the Nautical 'shipwreck' feel) and then made a big tree with the Lost Fortress... Know what they played? SURVIVOR!!! The tree is Tribal Council, "the tribe has spoken." LOL! Tooo fun!

Worthy of the price and lots of things to change this one into! Great idea!!!

Lots of fuel for the imagination
My 3 year old loves his pirate island. There is a place for buried treasure, working canons (which are made not to cause injuries), fallen trees and lots of little accessories. Although he is not old enough, the island has the capability to be arranged and built in many different ways. Plenty of potential to grow into it for many years.

kids love these, especially the "fantasy" types
My son has played with these toys since he was 4 --- he has acquired about seven different sets from the Imaginext line -(pirates, lost fortress, castles) -- yea relatives! as well as various extra guys (available at Wal-mart) and he shows absolutely no sign of slowing down on play with them (he's 6) -- he has other toys, natch, but plays with these daily. The other kids love them as well, especially as they tie into the child's love of knights, pirates, lord of the tings, and robin hood. EXCELLENT for creative play, as the sets can mix and match and be configured in unique constructions. Durable (NOTHING broken yet), loaded with little extras, great value -- buy them all for a truly thrilled and absorbed child.

Imaginext building system is great!!
I don't know why the previous reviewer submitted a review---he doesn't own the toy, has never seen it, yet he submits a review?!! Amazon...you should remove that review since it doesn't accurately reflect the toy's value.
We, on the other hand, DO own this toy and my 4 year old son absolutely loves it!!! He often combines it with the other Imaginext products and creates a different toy each time. The wonderful thing about Imaginext is the freedom it provides to create an endless possibility of ideas. One day he might construct each system according to the "plan" provided. Another day he might combine the construction pieces with the castle and forest pieces, creating large fortresses and towers. His imagination soars when he plays with these toys and he seems to never tire of them. I would highly recommend Imaginext toys for any child. I only wish they would produce a line that was geared toward girls---maybe a fairytale castle or enchanted forest? ... Read more

Doodle Pro is not as challenging as its predecessor-sketcher, but it's just as intriguing for younger kids, who will ponder the mystery of the sketching surface just the same. Unlike with the trusty Etch-a-Sketch, kids who are just developing spatial and coordination skills don't have to worry about an increasingly complex, unbroken line of metallic dust, and there are no knobs to contend with. That's all too tricky: they just want to draw! To that end, there's a fat, easy-grip stylus with a magnetic tip, and four magnet stampers stored in a pull-out drawer. When the molded forms are pressed on the 10.5 by 7.5-inch doodling surface, shapes are created. And, instead of shaking (again, exertion), there's a sliding eraser for starting over instantly. Because there's no mess, and only a few loose pieces, it's also great for travel. Diane Beall ... Read more

The best toy we have for our 21 month old
My daughter played with the magnadoodle at my mother-in-law's house so much that we bought her one of her own. It was great for a plane trip, because the pen only writes on the board, not on paper, the chair, her leg, etc. Plus, she loves the stamps. (Note to the other reviewer: the magnets are stickers that you have to attach when you first get the box open.)

If I have one complaint, it is that you have to push the stamps down pretty hard to set them back into their drawer or the drawer won't close. On the other hand, it keeps them from falling out too easily.

We never had a problem with the hand pinching. I recommend the magnadoodle for anyone wanting a great gift for a toddler.

BADLY designed new model!!!
My 4 1/2 year old son had the older model of the magna doodle and LOVED it, he used it almost everyday for his "artwork" in bed rather than markers or crayons. Needless to say it got worn out as toys tend to do, I was satisfied with how long it lasted since he used it daily for over two years.

We decided to buy him a new one so he didn't have to work around the permanent star in the corner (from pressing to hard) When I went to the store to get him a new one I was VERY disapointed with the look of this new model and a little nervous about the "drawer" for the magnet shapes (which by the way work well IF you actually put the magnets on the shapes...they come in the box and you have to stick them on yourself.) But since he "needed" one I bought it and we gave it to him for the first time at the beginning of a 4 1/2 hour car trip. He was playing with it for a TOTAL of five minutes before he pinched his little finger in the drawer...and needless to say it was PINCHED, he couldn't get it out himself. Fisher Price will be getting a call about it, it just is NOT safe. The old model had I believe eight NOT FOUR stamper shapes, so it was a let down. The ONLY improvement on this is the pen is spring loaded so you can't press as hard. Although he is being VERY careful now with the drawer he is still getting stray fingers pinched...the only way we see to fix it is to cut apart the back of it! um, no!

If you can buy the old model I totally recommend this toy, but I have a feeling fisher price will be redoing this one soon! It's just an awful design! THe old design would have gotten 5 stars all across the board...but how can a toy that "hurts" be fun OR educational...and that drawer is bound to break off.

My 2 year old loves this
We bought this for my son's 2nd birthday recently and he really loves it. The only thing is, it comes with these "stamps" but we tried everything and they just don't work. I thought you just push down on the board with them like regular stamps but it does nothing. We could trace them but on the package it shows them as stamps, not traces. So if anyone knows how to use them, I'd appreciate some insight.

The board and pen are great though. It draws dark and nice and erases just as well, unlike a similiar toy he had. I definitely recommend this toy for kids that love drawing. It mess free, a big plus! We've only had it a few days but it seems durable. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Not that exciting of a toy andtoo loud!
I bought this toy for my 8 month old son. I thought he would enjoy banging the hammer on the buttons. He chews on the hammer and rolls the toy around, obviously this toy does not keep his attention well. It is also very loud. It does have volume control, but it is still too loud.

3-0 out of 5 stars Just okay...
My 3 year old wanted this toy after seeing it in the store. (She liked the little mole that would pop up and say "Peek-a-Boo!") I didn't think it would hold her attention for very long, but because I also have a 5 month old that can "grow into it", I went ahead and got it. At first, I was really disappointed. It seemed that it didn't do much. Actually, though, after playing with it more with my kids, it's okay, although I definitely think there are better toys out there for your money (more "bang" for your buck, as the saying goes). My daughter likes to pull the tape measure and hear it sing the ABC song, but the lyrics to the other song just go on about what this toy can "teach". It is really quite a dumb song, in my opinion. It's to the same tune as a song on the Learning Home, only with different words. The one on the Learning Home is better (although it's not my favorite either). The music and sounds that go with the other parts of the toy are great--upbeat and fun. I like how it counts as you pound the shapes, and if you stop pounding before 10, it will play a cute, short little melody. It's nice that you don't really have to "pound" either... a gentle press of the shape is all it takes, which will be good for my little one. The slider button names the shape and it's color as you slide it below the shape, but it's pretty hard to slide. My 3 year old can do it fine, but I think even a 1 year old might find it a bit hard to do on their own. The down side to this toy is that it is very HEAVY. It'd also be nice if the tape measure played more than just two songs. I was right about it not holding my 3-year old's interest for long (2-3 minutes is all in one sitting). We'll see how it goes with my 5 month old as she gets a little older.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not that interesting
I originally had the FP Laugh and Learn Birdbath for my 8 mo old. She loved it.She loved the songs, the shapes and the birds. It broke after about 2 weeks though. So I exchanged it for this, because the price was equal in value, it was also a "laugh and learn" toy, and they didn't have the birdbath anymore.
But....
The songs on this are horrible. She isn't interested in it at all. The songs don't get her attention, the only thing that does get her attention is when it lights up. But, that's to be expected. She used to sit and play with the birdbath for about 5-10 minutes. This won't hold her attention for one minute.
I'm taking this one back too. ... Read more

Editorial Review

--Diane Beall ... Read more

Fun and Cute!
I bought this for my 23 month old daughter yesterday, she LOVES it. She was so excited while I was putting it together. She will be keeping this at Grandma's house (she spends about 3 days a week there). My daughter especially loved the ferris wheel. She and I both like the music, luckily there is an off switch should Mommy or Grandma need break from the noise.

I also bought two extentions to this set (Little People Surprise Sounds Fun Park & Little People Parading Pals), each of these are so cute and fun.

My daughter's Aunt thought it was such a cute toy (I think she will play with it too and she is 35!). Of course I am looking forward to playing with it myself. :)

I think this is a great investment. If something changes I'll edit this review.

Mom's addicted to Little People
I think I love Little People stuff more than my almost 2 year old daughter. This set in particular I think is wonderful because the ferris wheel plays music, and what makes it mom-friendly is the fact that there is also an on and off switch! I have more fun playing with these toys than I think she does which allows us some fun quality play time together.

Still interested even after getting toy home!
My son picked this out at the store and played with it in the store and continues to enjoy it at home(sometimes he just plays in store, then when I get the toy home he could care less!). Yes, a volume switch would be nice, but it does capture the loud nerve wracking ambience of an amusement park. My son loves to give the little people a vigorous spin and is especially amused by the fun house mirror. The bottle throw component is less enthralling.

All in all a cute, durable toy which my son is enjoying piecing together.

Great fun
My children received this Little People set for Christmas. They love it. Not only because it's Little People (And I can say that Little People are the one toy they play with every single day!), but because this set features one of their favourie things - rides at the fair!

They love the music of the Ferris Wheel and the "laughter" of the Little People (I think the music is a bit loud and there is no volume control but the kids just think it's great.

My just turned one year old is not the most gentle boy, prefering to throw things around the house than sitting down and playing but this ferris wheel (as with all our Little People) stands up to all their rough play - extremely durable.

A really cute addition to your Little People collection.

Fun Ferris Wheel
I fell in love with this as soon as I saw it online and I knew that my son would as well. When we bought it in the store he was grinning from ear to ear. I read the other reviews and I do not feel that this toy is any louder than any of the other toys kids have. My son loves putting all his Little People on the Ferris Wheel and saying "Whee". Excellent product! ... Read more
