5-0 out of 5 stars GREAT PLAY MAT FOR BABIES!
My baby is 3 months old and loves tummy time on this mat!So many shapes and colors to look at ,It also has a mirror on the red and black infant side! You can put toys infront of the baby and not have to worry about them getting out of reach because the sides keep other toys in the circle :-) Just one bad thing that the Price is high made me think twice because of cost but, very happy we purchased it and all in all nice play mat!

The Horrible Playmat
I've never seen my child so unhappy and unsafe in this horrible playmat!

more fun for mom
I was so excited to see this great product and couldn't wait to see how much my daughter would get out of it. At first, she just rolled off of it. Now she's 7 months and is crawling. That means that she doesn't stay put for very long. There is a lot of detail in this product, and maybe when she's older she'll like it better.

I loveeeeeeeeeeeeee!!! this product
when I had my son I was working at home so when he played I worked! peace atlast but the only thing is it is sooooooo expencive I wouldent of even looked at it If I hadent got it as a shower gift

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect for a newborn
Our infant is only 9 days old, and he already seems to love resting in the Imaginarium. We're currently using it for "tummy time", and when he is in there lying on his stomach, he stares intently at the black and white designs and mirror that surround him. He'll often stay in for 10-20 minutes at a time, which at this age seems like no small feat. Given that we have all hardwood floors, it's also perfect for our living room, giving us an easy place to rest him that is soft and comfortable. The fact that this toy is reversible and we can use the other side when he's a bit older makes it even more ideal. We'd definitely recommend it! ... Read more

Pure Entertainment!
My son got this as a gift and started playing with it at 7 months. He LOVED the music buttons and would be on his hands and knees rocking to the music. I honestly don't know of any other toy that entertains him for that long. He loves to play with the other sides as well, and now that he is 11 months old he seems to understand more of it. I highly recommend it.

Still loving it!
I got this toy when my son was about nine months old- and he instantly loved the music buttons. Now he's 27 months, and still loves the music buttons. The blocks are now lost, and he never figures out some of teh stuff on it, but he run right over every morning and hits a music button!

Great 6-sider of Entertainment
Having read the reviews I decided to go ahead and buy my 11 month old daughter the busy box as I loved the fact that it had 6 sides of activities to keep her entertained - and I was right- she loves it - especially the tune buttons - she has already worked out which one drives her father crazy!!!!
Only adverse comment I have is that she has managed to pull the door off - but it goes back on easily enough. Great product!

My son loves the music!
I have a 14 month-old son who loves to push the buttons to play the music. We hear birds, dogs and frogs all over our house. The "door" came off pretty easily, but it just makes it a little easier for him to get things out of it that he puts in it.

Great Toy!!!!!!!!!!
We got this for our 18 month old at christmas and he still loves to play with it. It is well worth the money with everything your child gets out of it. I looked at all different kinds of activity centers (the wooden high price ones) and I am so glad we went with this one. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for newborns
This playmat is terrific. My baby loved it from the day we brought her home from the hospital; she stared at the black-and-white patterned side for a half an hour at a time. It's especially handy, I think, that it folds into a triangle so that it's easy for the baby to lie on his or her back and look at it. If the baby gets bored with that view, you can just flip it to another side--one has a mirror that my baby loved. It's also very easy to transport and can be either tied or draped to the backseat of the car so your baby can look at it (regardless of whether your carseat faces front or back).

5-0 out of 5 stars Great as a Car decoration during trips!
The Busy Bee playmat has very colorful contrastful colors on one side and black and white images on the other. At 0-2months old my baby loves to look at the black & white patterns and is just now begining to like looking at the other colorful side. He stares at it and it keeps him occupied in the car- I just hang it up where he can see it. The drawbacks of this toy is that it is small so I believe it does not make a very good playmat & the velcro is rough- therefore it makes a much better decoration to look at than playmat. But I am glad I got it because, as I said, my baby loves to stare at it :-)

----> UPDATE: Now that my little guy is 6 months he loves this toy and it keeps him occupied in the car. I fold it up and put it on his lap in the carseat and he loves to grab at the little snakes on the edges and the butterfly! I highly recommend this toy!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Be CAREFUL of sharp velcro on this toy!
A cute toy (bright and cheery), but FLAWED construction. Be careful of the various small pieces of velcro on this toy!! Some of the pieces are REALLY sharp/rough!! My 7 month-old really gouged/scratched her face up by just playing with the toy normally on the floor. After this occured, I had to remove all the little velcro pieces with a seam ripper.

2-0 out of 5 stars Play Mat?
I am very disappointed in this product. Had I known how very small this mat was, I would never have added it to my registry. I thought I would be able to lay my son on it for "tummy time" but even at 2 weeks old, he's twice the size of this thing. My main disappointment is that a friend purchased this item for me, I feel bad that she threw $... away. I'll make use of it by hanging it in his crib, or behind the car seat in a years time when he's in a forward facing seat.

5-0 out of 5 stars A great item for the car
This is an excellent item for the car. It has given my little boy something to look at while on car rides. I think he likes the little mirror the best! It is also great to put on the floor for tummy time to give them something to focus on and play with. I definitely think it is a worth while product to buy! ... Read more

Good Toy but WAY to big!
I recently bought this toy for my 10 month old son. I was wanting a toy for his stroller. When I took it out of the box and tried installing it on his stroller I could never get it to securely fasten and the toy is WAY to big. I let my son play with it anyway and he seemed to like it but not worth keeping.

I am going to return this item because of two reasons: 1) To big for the stroller and 2) Don't like the fastening straps.

doesn't attach to a 20 lb +car seat
we received this toy as a gift for a 1 year old daughter who liked to pretend she was driving. it didn't attach to a 20lb+ car seat. so obviously, it didn't stay in our child's lap for very long, and it would drop to the side. it wasn't entertaining either. we ended up selling it at a garage sale for $1. and instead we bought the mickey mouse driving wheel roadster that lights up and plays tunes, and it was an instant hit.

Fun,fun,fun!!!
A fun toy that gives young children something to do in the car.

2-0 out of 5 stars We were disappointed with this toy
We got this toy for our daughter when she was 11 months old and we were going on vacation. She loves keys and phones and steering wheels, but for some reason this toy never did really interest her. For one thing it is very difficult to play with while sitting in a carseat. She kept pushing it over the side, and I couldn't get it positioned well so that she could reach it. Even when it was on the floor, though, she didn't play with it. I finally put it up in the closet. A few days ago, she discovered it again (she's 21 months now) and wanted to play with it. She looks at it for 3-4 minutes at a time and then is through with it. It was a pricey toy and definitely was not worth the money for us.

The one good thing I can say about it is that if you can get it positioned well, it really could be a good car toy because all the pieces are soft. I think for our daughter, though, it just didn't look realistic enough for her to be interested.

2-0 out of 5 stars My three-year-old son loves driving with this dashboard.
My three-year-old son loves driving with this dashboard. He does everything with me as I drive him to pre-school. "Ladies and Gentlemen, start your engines!" He narrates every move we make: we put the car into reverse, look behind us for children and other people as we pull out of the driveway, turn the steering wheel as we back into the street, put the car into drive, etc... He talks about turning on the radio, the lights, the wipers. Also, he has become very interested in street names, left v. right, traffic signs, and directions during our conversations about driving. For a three-year-old, he now knows a lot about driving and can give pretty good directions for getting to our house. This dashboard can stimulate many good driving and safety conversations.

This dashboard would be more fun if it had better knobs and swtches like a real dashboard. Also, the covering of the gear shift has worn away very quickly, leaving purple, glittery traces on our younger son's hands and face when he manages to get the dashboard away from his older brother. He then tries to chew on the shifter, and I'm sure it's not wonderful stuff to ingest. ... Read more

Good for very young children
I purchased these for the young (under one year) daughter of an acquaintance. They are an unusually good set of blocks, being soft, multicolored, and with varying designs. Some have peek-a-boo windows and doors, and some have rattles inside. The only possible drawback is that the "windows and doors" could become torn lose with extended use, but they are a good value and would be expected to last as a young baby grows. They come in a convenient zippered storage case which has some baby features. I would rate these as a "best buy" for young babies.

I like these
These blocks were atractive to me because they were soft and large for little hands. So I purchased a set for my 10 month old, she seems to like them just fine. They are not her favorite toy, but she enjoys knocking them over and watching me reassemble little structures. She also enjoys tossing them around which is entertaining for both of us! My favorite aspect is the small amout of space they take up when put away in the pouch they come in.

4-0 out of 5 stars nice toy
I purchased these for my 5 month old daughter. They are wonderful. The only problem is they are a little big for small hands to hold on to. Also they could be a little softer. All in all she loves the colors and noises. I feel they are a good value for the price.

5-0 out of 5 stars good first blocks
My son really likes these blocks. They are interesting and easy for him to hold & play with. Blocks make different sounds (crinkling, etc.) which are interesting for him. Best of all, he likes to knock down things we build with them. They were a bit pricy, but I'm glad a bought them. ... Read more

Just a great toy
My 22-month-old has loved this toy for almost a year. The shapes are attractively colored and very pleasing to hold, and the attached hammer never gets lost! All in all, a very nice version of a timeless toy.

Awesome toy!
I am constantly looking for non-electronic toys that don't "play themselves". I bought this toy for my 9-month old daughter-each of the shapes have a different rattle sound and she loved to shake them. Now that's she's 11 months she's starting to learn the shapes and using the hammer. My husband and I love to play with this too! ... Read more

Cute, but tiny and flimsy
I recently purcashed this cart for my daughter for her 5th birthday. While very cute, the cart is way too small for a child over 2 and VERY flimsy. I would not purchase it again. I expect it to break any day. (We've only had it a week.)

Not sturdy; falls apart
The front kept popping off of our cart. Finally after a year of replacing it over and over the plastic connecting piece on one side broke off, making the cart useless because it had no front. The separate seat for a baby doll is cute, though.

Great fun but falls apart
My two year old absolutely would not leave the store without this and she still plays with it a year later. However, there are two problems. One, it immediately needed repair to the basic connections and, two, it has a pinching hazard between the basket and the frame. But of course, my daughter never noticed either of those. She simply loves to play with it, constantly, and has to take it on walks around the block.

Cute and fun but not sturdy
My daughter received this for her Bday, and it gets played with just about everyday. But it tips over easily, and younger children need to be closely supervised with it. It came with a nice assortment of play food and money, but I'm not sure I would have bought this one myself.

Cool Cart!!
This cart is very good!It has a lot of space and you can even put a doll in the front!!!I can never stop playing with it with our cash register! It comes with play food that you could put in the cart!I like it!!!!! ... Read more

This 5-inch-square musical jack-in-the-box--in bright blue, red, yellow, and green--packs a lot of surprises. Hold the easy-grip handle, wind the crank (the round knob makes it easy for little fingers to grab), and it plays "This Old Man." A smiling clown pops up at unpredictable intervals and can be pushed back down easily. As if that weren't entertainment enough, there's a yellow button on one side of the box that squeaks when you push it and a yellow star on the other side that clicks when you turn it. Turn the whole toy upside down so your little tyke can find her own smiling face in the safety mirror. Made of plastic; easy to clean. --Elisabeth Fredrickson ... Read more

Wouldn't buy this toy.
The music stopped playing the same day we got it in the mail. Would have been very cute if it wasn't so cheaply made. Very disappointed.

Inconsistent manufacturing
Our first purchase of this toy resulted in an exchange for another one the same day--it stopped working (playing music) after a few times of using it! Our second one however continues to work after several weeks. As another reviewer has mentioned, this toy plays an odd song for a jack-in-the-box, but still holds the attention of my 12 mo old. Although he is not yet able to effectively turn the knob yet, he still enjoys watching the head pop when we play with it, and he likes to play with the other sections of the toy.

Tolo - Toys
After serching high and low for this brand of toys (TOLO)I found them. My son loves the jack-in-the-box and other Tolo toys (puppy, cars, planes and people). These are durable and they also can click with each turn. Toys R US please bring this international toy to your stores. I love them as a parent and my son loves/plays with them for hours.

Cute but nothing special
I bought this toy for my 6 month old because she loves bright colors and musical things. I was diappointed because it bored her the moment I placed it in her hands. She was unimpressed by the pop up head, the music and the shape. It is too large for her to manipulate and though it is very durable (nothing broke on it yet and she plays tough) I don't think it was worth the money and don't recommend it.

Cute but not durable
This toy is very cute but it stopped working after one week. The handle was also very hard to turn to get the music to play. This was a real waste of money. ... Read more

The best purchase I've made so far!
As an early childhood educator, I must say this product has the most for the money. There are at least 4 different educational uses. My son began using it around 13 months and continued until about 20 months. He loved discovering that the wooden dowels fit into the holes of the blocks and the table -early lacing skills! As he got older, he enjoyed the activities of stacking the blocks and the shape sorter. These strengthened fine motor development and eye-hand coordination. Cognitive skills can be worked on by counting, and matching the colors and shapes. It was also great that he found other toys, like plastic rings that fit on the dowels too. More than one child or adult can play so this encourages social skills. Clean up time was simple when the center is used for storage. The only thing that disappointed me was that the cover for the center starage area did not fit. As for the 4 star rating on fun - I'm not big on electronic toys but if you have them, you will understand that this may not be the first toy your child runs to. It also does However, if you kneel on the floor next to him to encourage and provide positive feeback, he'll learn much more than what an electronic toy can teach. Thank you Small World Toys! ... This is an activity toy that will get used, thanks to its multitude of entertaining, developmentally challenging functions; and it has a clean, happy design that'll please parents, too. The plastic tray has four shapes that can be removed from their respective holes and replaced. Each shape has an adorable, simple picture of a farm animal. When the shape is placed correctly, the animal can be pushed to sound a realistic "moo" or "oink." There's a musical function, too, where a song is played instead of an animal noise. The shapes themselves make cute rattles when they're removed. And if that weren't enough, when you flip the thing over, there's a selection of the old reliable baby-amusers: a rotary dial, a mirror, and a line of beads. The whole affair is topped off with a nice carrying handle. Highly recommended. --Claire Dederer ... Read more

Not as great as the reviews would have you believe
I was surprised that this toy got such good reviews, because I am not at all impressed with it. I thought that both of my sons (12 mos. and almost 3 years) would enjoy it, but neither has spent much time with it, despite enjoying other shape sorters - plus, one loves music, the other loves animals/making animal sounds. The shapes are hard to get out, and this frustrates my 1-year-old son. And I was disappointed that the music doesn't play when the shape is inserted; you have to press the shape after putting it in to get the music to play (or bypass that, and push the little button to get the music without even doing the shapes).

My toddler approves!
My son is 15 months now and has played with this toy for several months. It has helped teach him animal names and sounds, and he enjoys the music it plays. He also likes the shape sorting, as well as the activities on the other side (a clicking wheel, etc.). We take this toy with us on trips because it provides good entertainment value for its size.

music morphed out
i purchased this when my child was a few months old. she loved it because of the sounds of the animals. as she got older she enjoyed putting the pieces in their places. i have returned it twice because it doesn't work. each time i change the batteries but it still doesn't work. i will return the second and call it quits. the concept is great and when it works it's good but now my child is 18 months and it frustrates her.

Fun Sounds Motivate Interest in Learning Shapes
We bought this toy because we thought it would be a fun way for our daughter to learn shapes because she loves music. With conventional shape sorters, kids tend to just dump the shapes out or open the hatch and dump them in. Our daughter tended to get very frustrated as well! With this toy, once you put a shape in its cavity, you can press the animal to hear a lovely song or an animal noise. She adores it. The shapes are little mini rattles too that make a nice sound when you shake them. Our daughter learned how to turn the toy on and off and would say "off" when she turned it off. We bought this around the time our daughter started walking, and she loved toting it around with the convenient handle as well. The only negative is that your child may learn to press the small buttons behind each shape to get the music or noises without putting the shapes in.

Finally, a toy that captures my 12 month olds attention!
It is always a challenge to find a toy that will interest my 12 month old for more than a couple of minutes. With this musical shape sorter I believe we have finally found something that is more interesting to him that the electrical socket or the phone cord. It is just the right size for him to hold and carry and durable enough to survive being thrown down the stairs. The shapes stay in their places well and the realistic animal sounds are a nice change from the ordinary toys. I love the activity center on the back because it's like having two toys in one. I would definitely recommend this toy! ... Read more

Great Addition!
They are so great we need more! We have a nice size family and even after purchasing this set, my son still needs more in order to name everyone:) He plays with them each day and they seem very durable (we had them over a month now) No problems yet and he is not gently with them at times either. Great addition whether to expand pretend play with family members, friends, teachers, doctors or whatever names you want to give these people!

poor design
These dolls' arms and legs are fabric coated wire with the feet not very securely glued on to the legs, and not secured well to the wooden block that is the doll's body, or trunk.

Our family came with a dollhouse and the mother came with part of the body broken so the leg and arm on one side swing around unnervingly when you try to pose her. The son's feet both came off after two weeks and we're not sure if we can glue them back on so they'll stay.

I'm dissapointed and expect the rest of the family to deteriorate in turn. I will have to look around to find another doll family about the same size for my little girl to use in this dollhouse. ... ... Read more
