Fun to Build and Play
I got this set for Christmas last year and I had a great time building it and playing with it. This set is rather large so be prepared to have a place to store it (I built it on a piece of plywood). I would also suggest building it on a hard surface.

Great toy, easy to put together.
I love Lego sets because you can actually "play" with them when they are done. I bought this set along with the big Air comp and my son and I raced for a while with it.

Snowboard Boarder Cross Chase is fantastic!

LEGO NBA Challenge (3432) This is a real, functioning table-top basketball game made entirely out of LEGOs. The surprising thing is how well it works--you can stage your own 2-player tournament of little red men versus little blue men, or practice free throws solo. Here’s how it works: you make your men, who are mounted on a spring mechanism, and then shoot or pass by flicking the ball in the direction you want it to go. Each little ball player is mounted in a dimple on the court, allowing the ball to roll to him. There is also a defensive player at each end of the court who can be hoisted up and down with a lever to block shots. Not exactly a realistic simulation, but really fun nevertheless. It is quite a task to assemble the thing, but the text-free instructions allow for kids to do this themselves. If there is one downside, it’s that pieces tend to fall off with overly enthusiastic play, but, being LEGOs, they snap right back on. --David Stoesz ... Read more

NBA Challenge - try putting it together in the first place!
I had great fun putting it together, but it took me over an hour to do so. The instructions are clear although some of the colours are confusing (black pieces looks grey in the booklet). Younger children will probably need help setting it up - and some adults too. I'm hoping the basketballs will last till the new year...

this toy stinks.
I bought this thinking it would be cool. it sort of is,but is is so hard to put together to do.Lego soccer is so much easier to put together.
I havn't played with it yet. im still putting it together.

I bought it 3 days ago, and im still not finished.

at first you think it is the best. if you don't have anyone to play with you, you get bored easily like me. I got it, built it, played for awhile and got bored. if you want to you can make the court nearly unbreakable. i really like it but i get bored easily. all in all i am happy i got it but i wish i had someone to play With in my family. do not think it is like other legos where they break easily b/c it doesnt break that easily as you may think it is.

PROS: fun to build, easy to play with, pretty durable

CONS: boring when you are by yourself,

If you buy this for your child then you are making the right decision because this toy will tech your child how gravity works. This toy will also last along time and it will stay in contact. It will stay in contact for awhile because the lego don't break but it might fall apart.

On the surface, there seems to be one inescapable problem with a LEGO NBA set. Doesn’t basketball require, at some point, a sphere? And doesn’t the entire universe of LEGO sort of lack that shape? No matter. With this set’s court and four players, they mercifully threw in an actual ball. Following the highly detailed graphic manual, you can construct a very urban-looking street court complete with two backboards. Despite the NBA name, this set features no likenesses of actual NBA players (though such can be purchased separately). But the players included are more interesting anyway since they are so unlike the traditional happy LEGO peg man. They snarl and have facial hair and goggles--you can almost hear them talking trash. And when you flick their spring-mounted bodies in the direction of the basket, the players actually shoot the ball themselves. Making your shots is challenging but not impossible, and becomes more difficult the farther you are from the basket, just like in the real NBA.--Charlie Williams ... Read more

Easy to assemble, fun to play with
These little NBA players FLEX their arms and legs, making this a unique set that my 6 and 9 year old sons love. The players are based on actual NBA players; even I get a kick out of seeing them "LEGOized"!
In short, the kids can actually play a game with this set. We plan to expand the collection. Four stars for educational/durable because it depends on how you look at it!

Snowboarding and LEGO wouldn't seem to be a natural fit. The former is dependent on smooth surfaces and fluid movements; the latter is built predominantly out of little bumps. But this 225-piece set arrives at some pretty interesting compromises. Following the detailed graphic instruction manual, assemble a large "half-pipe" snowboarding arena with naturalistic touches such as little trees. The two LEGO snowboarders, one dressed in black, the other in red, schuss along on the ends of longish LEGO rods that you hold. Sure, that's obviously not how real snowboarders do it but once you suspend the disbelief a little bit, it's actually pretty fun. Since this is LEGO, it's also compatible with other sets, meaning that you can attach any old LEGO pirates or spacemen to the boards and send them off for the ride of their lives. --Charlie Williams ... Snowboard Super Pipe Major Disappointment
I bought my 10 year old the Snowboard Boarder Cross Race last week for his birthday and he absolutely loves it! He plays with it every day -- he enjoyed putting it together and says it's amazing to play with! He was so excited that he took $... of his hard earned money (parking cars at football games) today to buy the new Snowboard Super Pipe. Unlike its counterpart, it does not work as advertised. This was a big surprise since most lego products are absolutely wonderful (fun to build and play with). It's impossible to get the snowboarders down without crashing or going over the edge. The Super Pipe is the worst lego (terrible "bang for our buck") we've ever purchased. ... Read more
