    Editorial Review

If everyone knew how incredibly cool life in the sewer could actually be, perhaps a lot more people would live down there. Well, maybe not. But for the moment, the underground catacombs, depicted here in a large and intricate play set, are mostly populated by the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, their rat master Splinter, and various assorted bad guys out to defeat them. While none of those characters are represented here in action figure form, anyone who already has those figures (or any action figures, really) will find plenty of fun things going on in the Turtle's lair. A working, hand-cranked elevator travels from street level to the two levels below while a rope slide lets the boys rappel from one floor to the next. The centerpiece of the set is a combat area where figures placed on specific points on the floor can be made to spin around when you twist their corresponding knobs. There are also spring-loaded plunger missiles, a trap door, and a couch that springs back. All told, the lair play set is just as fun, silly, and complex as the Turtles themselves. --Charlie Williams ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Cute, but falls apart
My son was so excited to get this toy, but very disappointed when it continually fell apart. We even super glued the parts together and it still came apart.

2-0 out of 5 stars AWFUL TOY
This toy is awful!!!! It constantly falls apart when my boys are playing with it (ages 6 and 3). I am very unhappy with this purchase!!! It was expensive to be such a disappointment!!!!!

2-0 out of 5 stars Every TMNT fan needs one!!
I bought this for my 5 year old this spring. I got a great deal on clearance. The kids that come over to play love it. And best of all it folds up and has a handle so you can drag it around like a suitcase.

I thought the original price was a little much but after getting it out of the box I found out why. In our set we got 2 action figures, a vehicle, and various other NT Lair items.

2-0 out of 5 stars great toy!
This is a great toy , however it is on sale for $9.99 at JC Penney.com! My 4 year old nephew loves the turtles! He loved when I bought him this play sets !He sat & played with it for hours!

2-0 out of 5 stars A piece of junk!!!
My gentle 5-year-old son received this toy from Santa. The toy is made so cheap, it's a total rip off. He's hardly played with it, because it keeps falling apart. The plastic is thin and when connected (the sides, top and floor have to keep being put together), it stays until you accidently bump it or try to make the turtles scale the wall. If it was made all one piece it would've been so much better. I've never been so disappointed with a purchase. It's worth maybe $5 not $50. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Not Just for GBA Screen!
Use your Game Cube adapter to play this great movie on your portable Game Cube Screen! My kids love it on the go in the car, anywhere away from home. Cheaper than buying a DVD player and the screen on the GC is the same size with great clarity!!

2-0 out of 5 stars Well it's a novel idea....
This Game Boy Advance cartridge contains the first two episodes of the new TMNT cartoon. While it's always cool to see companies innovate with portable technology, you're not really getting a lot for your money here. Two episodes on a small GBA screen with compressed sound? If parents really want to entertain their kids on the go, buy a portable DVD player and some of the TMNT DVDs, which have more episodes for less money. Yes portable DVD players are expensive, but at least parents can watch their favourite movies as well.

If you have cash to burn and are a hardcore TMNT fan, I suppose this is worth buying just for the sheer novelty value of seeing the show on a GBA screen. But don't expect this cartridge to entertain for long.

5-0 out of 5 stars TMNT Cartoons on GBA
Here it is, the origins of the TMNT from the FoxBox cartoon. Now you can watch the radical green dudes use their ninja skills on your GBA. The first two episodes of the TMNT are included on the high quality GBA Video cartridge. Cool! I'm getting it and so should you. Parents, get this for your kids ... they will love it. ... Read more

This Turtle truck measures in at just over a foot long and is packed with plenty of "hey neat!" features, including spring-fired missiles and a towing winch. Best of all, there’s plenty of room inside for turtle action figures, or whatever other action figures you think would enjoy riding in style. The side doors don’t open, but the top does, making it even easier to load up the truck before heading off to the sewers to stop the bad guys. --Charlie Williams ... Read more

    Turtle truck good buy
I bought this for my 5 yr. old. He loves it. Has missles that shoot out and is easy to use. Also, pretty durable. Another plus is the space inside the truck. My son stores his weapons and ninjas in it when not using truck, so he doesnt lose any pieces.

Good sized! Holds 3-4 figures! Kids love it!
The deluxe armored truck was a great gift! My boys (6 & 9yr) have had a good deal of fun with it and it has withstood their roughness. They love the shooting missiles and the fact more than one figure can fit inside. Great toy!

    Kids love it
This toy is a hit with the 3 and 5 year old, but the roof comes off all the time. The disc shooter broke on the second day, the ramp in the back is hard to get back in and falls off. I'm just glad I got it on Clearance for $10.00.

An Ok Toy But There Is One Big Problem
The new TMNT line is pretty neat so far but it can't beat the old line. This vehicle has some AWEWSOME detail. The huge problem is that aside from April and Splinter, no one can sit in it. The Turtle's legs can't be put in a sitting position. They have to stand in the Battle Shell. If you turn their legs backwards they can be put into a sitting postition but their leg joints loosen up pretty bad. I would really only reccomend theis to a die-hard TMNT fan. The Party WaGON FROM THE ORIGINAL LINE IS 100 TIMES BETTER.

    Turtles Are Great ! ! !
12 - 15 Years ago Turtles were very popular toys... It is Great to see them come back on the shelf and available. After ordering I recieved the product quickly in GOOD condition This toy appears that it should only be played by those who can safely use action figures that have small parts. ... Read more

    very fun
This toy is really fun. first it comes with this ooze stuff that doesnt stain the carpet and doesnt ruin the figures or play set. It may be a little frustrating putting it togeather but the instructions were very deatailed. Heres a tip: dont lose the pieces or else will not be able to use it. put it togeather in a wide open space so you can always find the pieces.
I had no trouble with the pieces togeather (maybe the other review people had a deffective set lol)

Anyway i would reccommned this toy to your kids. it is defidently worth the money !

oh yeah and one more thing about the ooze stuff is that you should always keep in in the plastic barrel that it comes in and not on the floor. or else you will have alot of stuff sticking to it like i do.

    Disappointed!
My son received this for Christmas. He got frustrated quickly trying to put it together, and it took the adults several hours to assemble, then broke apart the minute we picked it up to move it. After many attempts to put it together and keep it that way, the pieces now sit in a toybox, forgotten. He likes the little turtle characters and the fighting platform, but the lair itself is a waste of time & money.

    I really enjoy this toy!
I love this toy! being a big fan of the Ninja Turtles, I enjoyed playing with the characters and making my own adventures. Two things I like about this set is that it comes with a miniature version of the Sewer Slider, the Ninja Turtles Go-Kart, and some Amazing Mutagen Sewer Sludge that does not stick to the set, making it possible to dump it on the Shredder and his Foot Soldiers without a sticky mess! I would recommend this set and the two other Ninja Turtle Mega Bloks sets to any Ninja Turtle Fan! This set only took me about an hour to complete, but I have been building with Legos and Mega Bloks for many years, so it might take other people longer to complete. The only problem I found with it was I had a hard time trying to make the couch stick to the set, but otherwise it is a very fun and easy set!

    Awesome toy
My 11yr old son loves this toy. I was impressed with details on the lair and the number of figures that are included for the price. We have left it assembled and haven't had any problems it coming apart. It's one of his favorites.

    A zillion itty-bitty pieces
This sucker took me 2 hours to put together...it comes with a ton of itty bitty pieces, to make a 2-story building, with a street on top of it. We're talking lots of the 2-dot legos here. Even the tv set has about 14 pieces, as does the couch! Needless to say, I'm not tossing this thing back into the general lego pile. It does have a cute car, and little weapons, and 1-inch figures, and my kid thought the ooze was super cool...for about 15 minutes on Christmas morning. I don't know why, but I got 4 turtle-mainiacs (ages 5-8) running through the house, and this thing just sits there. The Battle Shell Mobile, which holds 4 of the 5-inch figures, and shoots missiles, is a much better turtle toy. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome game
This is byfar the best TMNT game ever. The graphics are cel-shaded (like Zelda: Wind Waker) and they are awesome. There are various levels where you go through using one of four turtles - Raphael, Leonardo, Donatello, and Michelangelo; each using their own unique and special set of moves/weapons to defeat various enemies. It's basically a hack/slash game. Raph uses Sais, Leo uses a Kai, Donatello a bo staff, and Michaelangelo nunchakus. At the end of each level is a boss which you have to defeat. Fun playing by yourself but even better with a friend.

4-0 out of 5 stars your enemies will wish they had a shell to hide in
When I heard that there was a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game coming out I thought everything seems to have the ability to make a comeback. I remember playing the classic TMNT games over a decade ago. You know the ones on the NES. They were alot of fun. The funny thing is that it seemed that there was a little more to those classic games than just slicing and dicing your way to the next level. That's pretty much what you do in story mode. Oh and theres also a vs. mode. It's a fighting game with a couple of unlockable fighters. I have to say this is a great game to pop in and play with a friend or family member. And who could complain about the liquid smooth look of the game. The graphics are beautiful. Now alot of people say the game is very repetitious, well it is somewhat, however what makes it seem more repetitious is the spoken dialogue by the turtles. Stuff like "crack the whip", "shell shocker", "shell-nato", "turtle wax", "batter up", "anyone for stickball? I'm the stick you be the ball", "coming at ya", "raw hide" and more. You can picture it , I'm sure. Another thing, the words that pop up when you hit the enemies can be removed by going to options and turning them off. I thought that was cool because they got bothersome after a while. If you enjoy a no nonsense smash and bash.. this should be on your menu, and I'd say go ahead and order it.

    excellent
this is great awesome action/adventure game. if u think ur too old for teenage mutant ninja turtles thats fin, but the game is awesome. great graphics and action. four people can play at the same time! all i hab to say is that this game is the bomb.

2-0 out of 5 stars This is NOT the turtles I knew?
I was looking forward to playing the new turtles game because like a few others on here, I grew up with the turtles from the 80's. Now I am a HUGE fan of changing stories up and making things more interesting, but these turtles were cheesy!!!
The boss fights in the Arcade version and other turtle games were FAR more exciting and a lot less repetitive. I played the game through and recognized only about 2 enemies from the original: Shredder and Stockman. Who are these other people?? And why is April and Casey this white-trash couple now??!!
Anyway, the gameplay was good and so were the graphics, but if you think you are getting old school turtles...RUN FAR AWAY.

P.S Whats with the new theme song??? GeeZZZZ

5-0 out of 5 stars Great game but VERY long...
This game is very reminicent of the older geration TMNT games but it's MUCH more action packed...Anyone who thinks that this is the 4th TMNT game brought to a Nintendo system obviously forgets that there were 3 TMNT action games and a fighting game released for the NES,TMNT IV and TMNT Tournamrnt fighter for SNES and the 3 TMNT games released for Gameboy...

This new game, as well as, the new FoxBox cartoon, is based on the comic book, while the old school games are based on the older cartoon from more than a decade ago. I'm very impressed with this game EXCEPT for the ending...The ending IS NOT worth the effort you put into this game(4-5+ HOURS!!)...

I just hope the sequel's ending will be better than the ending for this otherwise fun game. My ONLY gripe about this game is the repetitive sound effects get annoying after a while... ... Read more

    Editorial Review

The artist Michaelangelo was probably never known as the light-hearted jokester of the Renaissance but that is the role of his namesake in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. In this action figure version of Mike, he totes his weapon of choice, a set of nunchakus, and wears his customary orange mask as well as a snarling smile that manages to make him look both happy-go-lucky and still vaguely menacing. When bent back, a spring-loaded mechanism catapults Mike forward in a flip (that was perfectly executed every time we tried it). A breakaway wall with imitation bricks below a set of fake trees is also included. Besides being the Turtles' resident jokester, we are also told by the packaging that Michaelangelo is the peacemaker of the troupe which seems odd given all the nunchaku swinging and wall breaking but in a world where turtles become ninjas, anything is possible. --Charlie Williams ... 4-0 out of 5 stars turtle time....again!
after hearing all the previews, and watching all the trailers i have to say the game looks great. the graphics are cartoony and thats what makes them really cool. the camara angles i saw were great. no mess up cams like in resident evil or batman dark tommaorw. so the games great plays great but theres only one thing that would make me give this a 5 of 5 is the lack of mutiplayers. there will only be 2 people it the maxs playing at once. boogus! so let hope there will be some xbox live thing.

Return of the Turtles - TMNT - Xbox
Ok, Im a big fan of the Ninja Turtles, but im gonna try to be fair here. The graphics are awesome. Its cel shaded, which suits this game completely. The music is good, but the voices get annoying since the character repeats the same line over and over, but i got used to it.. some people wont. The controls are pretty simple to learn. after 15-30 minutes youll know what youre doing. You could get thru alot of the game being cheap and just pushing the A-button repeatedly.. but you can do some pretty cool moves using combos. The most annoying thing is that in order to save your progress you have to beat an entire area, which consists of about 5-6 shorter stages. So, say you lose on stage 5, you have to start that area over again. To save all your hard work, you need to spend about 30-45 minutes to beat all the stages in the area. Now the major thing that gets complaints is that there is only 2 player.. when most people expect 4 for this game. Well, the reason i think this is only 2 player is because of the PS2. This game was made for all 3 systems, so that hurt it slightly. Ive mentioned alot of flaws in this game.. so how bout some good things. Well, its amazingly fun if youre a fan of TMNT, and even if youre not. There is a verus mode, where you can fight a friend, and you can unlock some really cool characters in Vs mode. If you enjoy beating the shell out of endless streams of evil ninjas and thugs, youll love this game. And to tie the storyline together, they put in scenes from the new cartoon, which i found really cool. I bought this game before i played it, but i would recommend that unless youre a hardcore fan, you should rent this game first.

1-0 out of 5 stars poorly done
I was willing to overlook many shortcomings in this game such as repetitive one-liners... but the one thing that destroys this game is that you can't save unless you finish all five or six areas in a level...which is ANNOYING. Hopefully Konami will clean this up in the next game.

5-0 out of 5 stars The return of the "beat 'em up" games we loved
I remember the nintendo entertainment system when it was in its glory days, it had some of the best beat 'em up games from double dragon and the TMNT series. When they were planning to release a TMNT game for the new generation consoles I cringed, only because it has been so long since Konami released a TMNT game and since most games on XBox were simulation and first person shooter or the GTA design I wasn't sure if TMNT would hold up. When i started playing it for ps2 at a local wal mart I liked it a lot, I got it for XBox and it is amazing, it has that good ol' feel of the beat 'em up games I remember playing and loving on NES back in the good ol' days when I was 7 and 8. anyways, if you like old school games I HIGHLY consider this.

2-0 out of 5 stars Father and Son(s) perspective
Dad found the game to be too easy, highly repetitive, and thus pretty boring. Additional character scripting would have been great (after the first 30 minutes, I had to either mute the volume or go in the other room). It also makes absolutely no sense to me as to why the game is a two-player fest only, when it was absolutely a natural for up to four players.
My 5 year-old twins, on the other hand, loved it and couldn't put it down. Unfortunately there isn't much available on the X-box for young kids. Is it a violent game? Yes. Is it mild afternoon cartoon violence that the kids have seen before? Yes. ... Read more

These turtles aren't so tubular dude
It was a long time ago when the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon, based on the insanely awesome comic by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, hit the airwaves. Now the forces of retro desperation are returning the green machines to the screen as well as every single gaming platform known to man. The story of TMNT is simple: Four wee turtles came into contact with some radioactive goop and were transformed into wee ninja turtles. After years of tutelage in the sewers by a rat-man ninja master, these ninja turtles turned into teenagers. That's about all you need to know. This game is as retro as its subject matter, and it contains all the good and bad things associated with the Jurassic 'go-right-beat-em-up' genre that made up about 97 percent of the game libraries for the 16-bit systems in the 1990s. A limited number of continues, improbable power-ups ('Ooh, someone left a floating pizza in that crate!'), and armies of identical bad guys will remind you of the days in which consoles had only enough memory to handle 10 enemies and just enough processing power to grant you a whopping six moves. For all its throwback feel, Turtles has a lot of late-model shinyness and snappy presentation. The whole game (except a few cel-animated cinemas) is done in a nice cel-shaded look that, along with the pop-up visual sound effects (CRASH!, BASH!, etc.), gives the game a personality that takes it past similar beat-em-ups like Vivendi's Hulk. The well-acted voice samples are way too repetitious, though, and because you fight the same enemies throughout most of the game, the combat noises get annoyingly familiar as well. Hey, it's a beat-em-up, what do you want? How about some combat variety? While the fighting is fun for the most part, the Turtles' limited moves make it seem like they just signed up for self-defense courses at the Y. Given the short moves list, though, the fighting action manages to be damn cool with ninjas flying and Turtles dashing about like, well, teenage ninjas.
Oh, and Konami, there are four Ninja Turtles (the theme song even counts them off). Why not give the world a four-player simultaneous Turtles game? Two-player mode is fun, but it's just not enough. For old-school beat-em-up fans, Turtles likely will be a guilty pleasure. It's long, difficult, and a treat to the eyes and the nostalgic heart. It's just that humans have evolved a bit since this type of game ruled the world.

4-0 out of 5 stars Cow-wa-bunga! This is a pretty good game.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is simply a fun action game with a lot of old school game play. Both new and older gamers will find this to be an addictive game.

All of the characters "turtles/splinter" are playable in story mode. The game rewards the player with new features after attaining certain items or completing different levels. It certainly keeps your interest because you want to know whats around the next corner.

Each character has unique fighting styles and the player will have to learn how to employ the turtles' weapon of choice in order to defeat the evil Shredder and the foot clan.

The graphics are cel-shaded and give the game a cartoon look which is really a break from the realistic looking games of late. This game is purely an action fighter game that will remind some gamers of the early side scrollers. The only difference... you can move in 3d. There are no platforms to fall from which is better for the younger gamers. It would have been nice being able to throw your enemies from cliffs/bridges that you encounter in the game. I guess that would be too violent. :-) ;-)

TMNT utilizes the same actors' voices from the new tv series and new cartoon footage exclusive to the game. The background music can be a little annoying at first, but there are options to adjust the sound/music effects which is pretty good. Most areas in the game are good, but one level of the game will have you wishing that you could stop the repeating sound of a female annoucers advising of a security intrusion by the turles.

Overall this is a good and fun game that is not too hard or easy to play. There is a lot of frantic button mashing involved in order to survive the onslaught of the foot clan. Two player cooperative is a feature that is added so bring a friend and get ready to kick some shell.

    best ninja turtle game ever!
    pros:
play with favorite (...) kicking ninjas
    easy levels
    lots of good graphics
    good sound
    3-D action
takes as low as 4hours to finish
cons: hard boss characters, can't play as shreeder and hun in story mode, alot of talking

    It Was a Good Game
It Was a very fun game its story mode is based on the episodes and its 2 players in VS mode and story mode/.In Vs Mode there are a couple of characters to play with I'm Not going to tell you all of them but my favorite character in Vs Mode Is Casey Jones aka loonatic with a hockey stick!

2-0 out of 5 stars Fun, but boring and hard.
Well, this game is ok, but Konami really made this game pretty bad. Here are a list of bad things about this game:
    WAY TOO MUCH VIOLENCE,
WAY TOO MUCH TALKING, ("Slice n' dice" x 1000 = annoiance)
LEVELS ARE SHORT BUT TAKE 20-50 MINUTES TO COMPLETE,
    "INVISIBLE WALL" PREVENTS RETREATING,
    TOO SHORT,
REALLY HARD BOSSES AND LEVELS TO MAKE YOU SPAZ,
    PRICE,
    and GETS BORING AFTER AWHILE.
Still fun, but rent it first. Don't buy it for little kids unless they are prone to violence. ... Read more

    Editorial Review

We're not entirely sure what kind of brawl Donatello from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is engaged in here but apparently it somehow involves a pagoda. In this action figure rendition of the perennially popular series, Donatello is given a breakaway wall that seems to be from a traditional Japanese building. And apparently his battle has been a victorious one since he is able, thanks to some effective low-tech spring-loaded abilities, to do an effective cartwheel. Don, as he is more commonly known to the rest of the turtles, is equipped with a couple of bo staffs that are fused to his back and a couple more that he can hold in his hands. Don is far from being a non-violent toy, even though he is ostensibly a force for good, and parents should be aware of the Turtles' brawling nature. --Charlie Williams ... Read more
