5-0 out of 5 stars Wanna keep your kids entertained??
My Goodness! We started with such a small little Geotrax set and look at what we wound up with!!My 3 year old got a small set right before his birthday and played with it quite a bit. Then he got MORE for his birthday...and NOW, it is the first thing he plays with when he wakes up and the last thing he play with when he goes to bed!The airport set is probably his favorite by far!But he and his big sister LOVE to take it apart and make new creations with all the tracks and play with the battery operated train, fly the airplane, load cargo, you name it!They really use their imagination and work together with all this stuff!

The only downside is I had to buy a REALLY big tub to put it all in when we don't want to look at it all!The control center, construction set, airplane set and all take up quite a bit of room and there are times when we want it just "put away" for a while. But that's the only bad thing I can say about it...this stuff is just COOL!

I recommend this for ANY kid, probably ages 2 and up.I bought a set for my 2 year old nephew in March and my sister says he LOVES it.If your kids like planes, trains, and automobiles, this is the toy for him!

5-0 out of 5 stars Another great addition to our geotrax set-up
This is a fun addition to the system.Set up time is less than 2 minutes. My girls love it.The only problem is the fight that sometimes happens over who gets to fly the plane.

5-0 out of 5 stars To infinite and beyooooond !!!!
To wait for new Geo Trax series... some months.

To deliver it at home... less than a week.

To assemble it ... half hour.

To see the happiest face from my child, when he saw the plane flying... Priceless...... 10 Stars !!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great as an addition to your train or as a stand alone toy.
This is a very fun toy.I would consider it a stretch, however, to say that this is a necessary addition for your train set.I would say that this is a great toy on its' own merit. The airplane is a big hit.It flies in circles with the control of a hand-held lever. As it flies the propellers spin. There are three different sounds (a jet, helicopter, or propeller plain.)There is a luggage carousel that spins around for cargo. As I said, my son plays with this independently from his train set.It can be incorporated.I would not hesitate to purchase this even if I did not own any other pieces from geotrax.

5-0 out of 5 stars Like it but prefer some of the other addons better!
My son recevied this for Christmas as an addition to his Geotrax system. He loves to play with it and loves the sound effects it has but, I found it to be more of a play alone part of the geotrax system than an integrated piece.Other add ons like tower clock, rescue squad, etc. are combined into the train system while this is not. It connects to it but the train portions pass by it rather than be part of it. Still a great piece but I think that if you have other toys like my son does his little people airport would have worked just as well by setting it up nearby. ... Read more

Don't Waste Your Time Or Your Money
The battery position makes this plane "nose heavy " and ours never did get off the ground. In addition, the small nuts which hold the rear landing gear loosen up due to the vibration which could lead to losing the wheel. As "first time" R/C enthusiasts, we were very disappointed by the performance of this plane.

2 channels are not enough!
Easy enough to fly and do so in a VERY large field on a very calm day.

Turns done at low altitude readily lead to spins and crashes

Controls let you climb with motor power and make left and right turns that readily turn into spins.

I have crashed plenty as a part of my learning and now I want at least a 3 channel and preferably a 4 channel plane

Lack of proportional controls means turns are done with small corrective left rights otherwise it is spin and crash city.

Thick clear packing tape repairs most of the damage done on the foam wings and tail

Funb Plane
My brother got the Outlaw, but it doesnt fly! Mine did and it was windy also. His flew away mine didnt

Good for beginners
This is my first radio controll ariplane and it was really easy. It took me a few times to get the hang of it but it actually flies for a long time unlike other ones I've had that don't even fly at all! After you use the battery a few times it actually lasts longer. It takes off from the ground which is cool but hand launching is alot easier.

So Easy!
This was my first time ever trying to fly a radio control airplane. I have seen other people doing it and I thought it would be very hard but I tossed it into the air and it flew right up! It is very easy to control. I crash landed a few times but it still flies great! This plane is so much fun! ... Read more

sucky toys
I hated this toy. it barely ever got going over 15 mph. the toy SUCKS....

Waste of money
Guess what. This plane doesn't fly. It's weak motor can barely hold the plane up. It sucks at turning, crashes often, and you can't land it saftly. Basically it sucks overall, isn't any fun because u can barely control it, and it's a great waste of $100. DO NOT BUY THIS PLANE!!!

Review for sky vector rc airplain
the sky vector rc airplain look's good when you see the body but when you fly it you wouldn't have that much fun with it. When I got it I tought it would be better than by other rc airplane. When I first flew it it flew good but it doesn't make good turns as other airplains for first time flyers. When I landed it the tail broke because it doesn't have a landing gear, that's the worst part, but I taped the tail. And when I flew it the other day it flew good and it landed slowly. The next day when I was flying it it went strait for this trees I was trying to change diractions but, just like I said it doesn't make good turns, it didn't turn. So it got stuck on the tree. I had no choise but to wait antil some wind get it dowen. I kept checking everyday, one day it got lower and got stuck on another branch. Two weeks had passed and most of those days were lot's of rain. On the next day when I checked it got even lower and I brought three broom sticks and taped them each other and got my plain dowen the wing was damaged. when I got home and tryed it the electronics inside it were dameged by the rain so I just took it apart and took out the motor and servo. So if you are a starter I wouldn't recomand this rc plane.

the best
it is the best toy ever so get it dont buy cheap ones or they dont fly good!!!!!

Fragile beyond belief
So, my 11 year-old son and I had our first flight today, after waiting over one month for a calm day. I have several years experience with gas-powered R/C aircraft, so I thought I'd take the first flight, get the plane up to a decent altitude (100 feet or so) then hand it over to my boy. A light gust of wind (5-10 knots) ended the flight after about 30 seconds with a fairly soft upright impact in a snow-covered field before I could give him the controls. Upon reaching the plan, imagine my surprise to find the propeller broken in half, and the rubber-band peg in the back snapped in half. So much for a durable trainer plane!

I just e-mailed Megatech to see how/if I might get a replacement propeller and rubber-band peg, but I'm not hopeful, as these things don't look like they're user-replaceable.

I summary, a real POS. Save your money and spend another $100 or so and get something heavier-weight. If you buy the Sky Vector 2, more than likely you'll be disappointed, like my 11 year-old is right now. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Fun for 4's and 5's
Our neighbors generously gave this toy to our son on his 3rd birthday. We couldn't wrestle it out of the box fast enough! (Too hard to unwire!) We were embarrassed when he had to be coaxed into opening his other gifts and played only with his helicopter!!! Within a week we thought he had broken the lifting rope mechanism, but my husband got it going again. The sound effects are fantastic!

Our son continues to play with this toy regularly for short stints. He knows that he might break the lift. I may put it away until he is 4-- which is the recommended age. By then he will be able to operate lifting the baskets without assistance or fear of damage.

Great toy for my 4 year old!
My son rec'd this for his 4th birthday and can't put it down. He's having a blast with it and I recommend it to all !

Another Tonka Wonder
Tonka never ceases to amaze me with the quality of their toys. I bought this for my son last year (he was 3) and it's consistently been one of his favorites. It doesn't even go in the toy box. It has a special place on his bookshelf next to his Matchbox helicopter. The features are cool. He loves the fact that he can make the blades spin with just the push of a button. He doesn't play with it constantly (anymore) but anyone who has a child in this age range knows that kids go in cycles. Unlike some other toys that have been long forgotten over the ages, this toy still gets regular abuse. And toughs it out, just like most of Tonka's toys. Nothing has ever broken. Even the winch rope is durable. I love Tonka toys.

Tough enough for younger kids.
I bought one of these 2 years ago when my son turned 2, and it has consistently been one of his favorites. He has never used the winch very much; he just flies it around the house, especially with the lights out so he could use the search light to see. My parents bought him another one last year, not knowing that he already had one. This one differed only it that it is now festooned with American flags (post 9/11 version, apparently). Now these helicopters are my 1 year old son's favorite toys; he likes to push the buttons as well as push it around the house after his brother. The toy is really tough, and I assume the 4-7 age range is out of concern about strangulation on the winch cord more than durability or age suitability. Bearing this in mind, the toy can probably handle kids at any age.

what a great toy!
My 3 year old loves this helicopter! While it says it's for 4-7, I think most 3 year olds can handle it. It's durable. He carries it around by the props. It has buttons for sounds (good volume, last about 5 seconds) and for the props and lights. He loves using the wench hook, and that's good for finger dexterity. The only thing I could say they need is a pilot and passenger. He puts his other toy men in as passengers and pilot, but a "real" EMT pilot would be a nice addition. Great toy though!!! ... 2-0 out of 5 stars Bad Choice
My son got this as 4th bday present and within three minutes he had the crane broken. When you want to push the buttons to make niose or the propeller move the propeller hits you. he doesn't care to play with it.

5-0 out of 5 stars this is lots of fun
my three year old is a rescue fanatic. he loves fire trucks and ambulances and when he got this for christmas he was THRILLED. it makes great sounds, it's easy to fly around and it has a moving hook that easily picks up the two stretchers it comes with as well as most cars and trucks lying around the house. the front flips open for batman or robin or whomever might be in the mood to fly to fit right in. it's july and it's in constant use and i dont recall changing the batteries more than once or twice, and it's still in one piece so that means it's durable by our standards. i heartily recommend this.

5-0 out of 5 stars Greatest gift this Christmas!

It Flies in Las vegas
I had a firebird which didnt fly . My dad said dont buy another airplane but i wanted to fly. This one works great in Las vegas.I finally can fly an airplane by myself

This is cool!
It is sturdy vs. My old Air Hogs plane.which moder came out on
2/22/04 so I fixed it to find later it cot on fire! So my E-EC
is alot beter.

Don't Buy It
It crashes a lot. It breaks a lot. Replacement parts are way too expensive. Megatech needs to offer a bag of 100 props for ten bucks and replacement wings for a few bucks each. If they don't, the plane is a worthless toy for most boys because...it crashes a lot...it breaks a lot.

Great RC plane for anywhere fun.....
After 6 years in the hobby and 7 gas powered RC planes, I finally got my first electric plane!!!The X-EC is based on the principle of variable thrust vectoring, where one motor slows down to yaw the plane in the direction of the slowed motor. Throttle gives it thrust which in turn causes lift - acting as a proxy elevator. It has no control surfaces as conventional planes, so banks and pitches are more sluggish. One needs to plan a turn/rise more in advance. Also, the controls are not proportional....and you have either full or nil throttle/rudder.
I took it to our field with my glow plane, doubting if this thing would ever fly. Total weight with the battery pack came to about 54 Gms.
The day was ideal for light weight electrics. There was a very slight breeze(the manufacturer says upto 5MPH.....but that would be like flying it through a typhoon. If you can see a leaf on a tree move, chances are that it wont fly). I charged one of the two stock packs (3.6V 120 mah) and hand launched the plane with the throttle/climb switch pressed. The plane just continued out of my hand into a steady climb. It flew so gently that I could actually run and catch up. Very slight corrections were necessary to keep it flying on course. When it got to about 40 feet, I hit the left turn button. It gently banked left but began to lose altitude. I released the left turn button and it continued to climb again and now flying at a 90 deg left of its take off path. I had figured out how to take circuits!!!!!
After about 2 circuits(at an avg height of about 30') I decided to land. I released the throttle switch and it began to decend rather quickly with a nose down attitude. I had no elevator control. So the next best thing was to give it power, and I did. It recovered and got to level flight again. I released the power switch again and it began to decend. At about 1 feet off the ground I added power again and it flared beautifully and landed gently. I couldn't stop smiling. It was my first electric flight and I enjoyed every second of it.
The reason I have given it 4 stars for durability is that although it is foam and very fragile, it is very repairable. I have had many bad landings and even 'Tree top' landings and broke the stab and cracked the wing once when flying it on a windy day. Just a bit of foam glue and some transparent tape got it flying as before. I don't think it is of much educational value as there is no bulding required(it flies out of the box) and does not follow all the dynamics of conventional aircraft either.

This is not gonna be my last electric plane for sure. ... it is an awesome deal. The only RC plane I've seen that you could pack in your briefcase and take and fly anywhere. It can do no aerobatics but does slow and gentle circuits really well. Learning to fly with this is simple, but still no piece of cake. Throttle management is the key in the X-EC to get good flghts and landings. Just letting the plane glide back to land is not the best idea. One needs to give short bursts of power to keep the nose level and grease into the ground.Good throttle management gives 5 minute flights with stock packs.

Nice plane, if it works!
I bought this plane from a seller on eBay. It was brand new. The range of the radio turned out to be very short, less than 25 ft. I called the Megatech technical service for help. I was told that as I bought it on eBay, the warranty was void. This is the first time I ever heard of such a policy. I decided to try to fix the problem myself. I found that the antenna connection in the transmitter was poorly designed and fabricated. I soldered a thick cable connecting the RF output on the PCB and the base of the antenna. I also added an extra 13 inch of aerial cable to the existing aerial on the plane. The range increased dramatically. I was able to fly it in winds up to 10 mph. The performance is impressive, but it seems like there are problems with production quality, and the customer service is less than desirable. I would not recommend this plane without reservations. If you are looking for a good beginners R/C plane, I suggest you should consider the HobbyZone's Firebird line of planes. I hope this helps. ... Read more

Although it requires very little setup time, this Capitol Flyer RTF airplane is equipped with some impressive performance features, including full variable control of the rudder, elevator, and throttle. This 21-inch-long airplane also comes with a powerful motor capable of fast speeds. These features make the Capitol Flyer a lot of fun to use, but it may be a little difficult for beginners to control in the air. The plane comes with a three-channel 72 MHz transmitter, a rechargeable NiMH battery pack, and a 12-volt peak detection charger. You will also need eight AA batteries to power the plane's transmitter. An instruction manual and spare parts are included. --Chris Burns ... Read more

suck wewe
I sucked this bottle the other day it was funner than your plane

you betta buy this plane
This plane is great, dont listen to the other reviews, (...), its a fun plane! Takes off right off the ground, built very well, very durable and fast. Everything works! I suggest that you first check all the things, like the elevator and the rudder and all the moving parts, i didnt and it crashed! But after i checked them i knew what the problem was, and I fixed it, any way its very fun and educational!!!!

Amazing Fantastic Wonderful Amazing...
I read all of the reviews, Good and Bad, and decided to to give it a try anyway. I made sure to read the manual thoroughly, cycled the batteries three times, tested the rudder and elevator, and practiced taxing the aircraft down a stretch of road before attempting my first flight to get comfortable with the power of aircraft. I then went to the park powered up to full throttle took three quick steps and launched the aircraft as directed by the manual and.....IT FLEW...AND CLIMBED...AND CLIMBED...AND turned RIGHT and LEFT as I commanded...and performed a figure 8...and descended as I lowered the throttle and landed almost perfectly on my first flight EVER. I picked it and repeated again 3-4 times crashing but recovering each time. After the 4ht time the engine seemed a little weak but it continued to fly nonetheless. Upon closer inspection I discovered that the gear shaft was SLIGHTLy bent. No problem they provide a back up. I have never donw this before and felt like a pro on my first flight. I will be back in the park and just had to tell someone right after finishing this review because I am now hooked . IMHO You can't go wrong with this aircraft.

Fast Plane
Best Plane ever. Dive and loop. Best fun at the ballpark. If you want a fast easy plane. This is it.

great plane
this is a great plane once it is up in the air. and once you get the plane get extra parts before you fly because most likely you will crash. and dont take off from the ground cause when you whant to correct the direction it drives around like a R/C car. but im not saying not to get the plane. this is a great deal cause other planes cost about three times more and you have to BUY a control and receiver and batterys. so get this plane just be carefull..oh yeah dont put you finger in the prop!! ...
