4-0 out of 5 stars One Great Game
This is one of the best games, and dont stop reading just because other people say the same thing. This is a great, and strategiclly a big step for the GBA System. One great thing is that the things likes graphics are really good because they had the time to make them good because the game isnt like an rpg. Let me tell you about the actual game now. One major reason i got this game is because i thought it would be a mix between an rpg and a CCG, but i was deffinately wrong, which isnt exactly a bad thing. I have never played this game in real life making it a bit hard to pick up at first, but its like riding a bike you dont forget what to do, and its easy to learn WHAT to do. There is not walking around, but is rather like mortal combat in the way you progress, almost exactly. ou go from level to level up to five which is cell, and hes a wench, let me tell you. Great game card wise, you can choose out of four players in the beggining, goku, gohan, freiza, garlicJR. You get others by beating the game with one person, then you unlock another. You play exactly like the card game, but its better because it has infinate possibilities. The main reason i got this is because you can keep playing and playing and not get bored because there are many diff. card possibilities. Great game i highly recommend it, fact is im going to go play it.

3-0 out of 5 stars Step learning curve, a good game, but plays very slow
Never having played this game before, I was very dissappointed by the instruction manuel which helped not at all. Fortunately there is an on line rule book that helps alot...I kept at it and finally it all came together, and I started enjoying myself. This is a good game with a good strategic element. The major down side is the very slow game play. The machine takes forever to do anything and as a result, a typical game takes about 45min. Also, it would have been nice had the interface been designed to allow you to easily view the opponents cards that are being played, as it stands, you have to go though several screens to get to the information.

2-0 out of 5 stars Don't buy
I gave this game a star for every second it's fun. This game has so many errors in it. First off all the text phrases, "if successful," and "if you declared a tokui-waza," are completely ignored. Secondly, the game was not upto date with the CRD at the time the game was made, so you can put in all the cheap cards you want and make an nearly unbeatable deck, making the game incredibly easy. Thirdly, all cards form all sagas are not included, so you have 1/3 the cards that you should. Also, the whole layout for this game is hard to follow. If you plan on purchasing the Legacy of Goku, instead don't. I beat the game in just over 2 hours, it's a real disappointment.

my re review
this game i still rate it good because bottom line its a good game the graphics are great but its hard i went through the tuturial and it still seemed that much harder but after playing against the first person i got how to play (dont read the manual it doesnt help it just wast time and confuses you)i still havent got to the 2nd level but i beet the 1st guy
if you are on a short trip i recomend not getting into more than 1 round they are kinda long if on a long trip just play till your about there and than finish the mach or play till your bored of it then i recomend the legacy of Goku

1-0 out of 5 stars Pure Boring
When i played the legacy of Goku i thought no game in the world could be worse than it. Butt when i played this game i found myself wrong. The music is baaaaad. The most boring music ever!! It is a very cheap and boring game. Plus it is confusing. At the begining i didnt know what the heck i was doing. Caution this game sucksss! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Depends very much on what you're looking for
If you're a serious student of the tarot, you may be disappointed with the cards (they double as a card game and therefore have extraneous symbols on them that may distract during a reading, and the prominent captions do little to open the intuitive mind to symbolic meanings beyond the surface). Still, the artwork is fine, if too small (another artifact of the gaming aspect), and the choices of characters and situations is well-thought-out. If you approach this set as a Tolkien fan FIRST, and a tarot afficionado second, you'll probably find it delightful. But don't buy it as a primary (reading) deck--buy it as a collectible.

4-0 out of 5 stars Well, I liked it...
Wow, has this deck gotten slammed!

I am a 'new' Tolkien fan. After seeing the Lord of the Rings movie and loving it.. I decided I had to read the books. The characters / story just fascinates me. I also enjoy the Tarot quite a bit - so when I remembered that there was a Lord of the Rings Tarot - I got excited... Until I read the reviews. OUCH!

I am not in any way saying the reviews are wrong. From what I understand, there are a lot of "technical differences"... and ALOT of questioning of why certain people / things were chosen for the cards they depict. I understand and agree with most of this... which is why it took me a long time before I broke down and purchased the deck...

I realized the reason I like the deck is because I am approaching it differently. 1. I like the artwork. Some of the pictures are quite intuitive to me - irrespective of the story. 2. I find the sentences on the cards helpful in remembering some of the aspects of the card meaning. 3. I like seeing the characters I enjoy on the cards - It helps me relate better to the deck as a whole.

While I realize there is a lot wrong with this deck, personally, I find that if I approach it loosely, it can be fun and I can get a lot out of it. I find that I just enjoy using cards that remind me of a story I love - I read the cards as they make me feel when I look at them - and I don't take the rest of it too seriously.

This deck may or may not be for you. Take all of the reviews / information into consideration, look at the cards yourself, and then make your own decision.

I <3 this deck
First off, judging a tarot deck based on the religion of the man who inspired it is ridiculous. Judge it based on its merits as a TAROT DECK. And secondly, yes, Tarot is quite the Catholic tradition. I swear when I went to Italy, everyone I asked had a deck. But back to the topic at hand... I have yet to play the card game that this deck also functions as so I can't really say anything as to its quality, but I can most certainly say this has been the best tarot deck I have ever had the honor of owning. I've had these cards for i think 10 years and have never been let down by them. They've given me the most detailed and accurate readings out of any of my decks. I know many might not consider the artwork "beautiful", but it is still well done (certainly better than the godawful rider-waite) and stays true to the movies/books. For those of you who are concerned that the cards aren't exact replicas of the classic rider-waite symbolism, remember that tarot started based on playing cards which lacked all those pictures you're used to. I recommend you try listening to the cards rather than relying on the confining interpretation of some book or cliche symbols. It has been exactly this, the deck's noncomformity and originality, that has provided me with more detailed readings than any other.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for the Tolkien fan
I found the deck to be a great introduction to Tarot as a Tolkien fan, since it uses characters and scenes I am very familiar with. This way, the meaning of each card is instantly apparent, not as cryptic as other decks I have used.

As for the claims that Tolkien would not have approved "as a Christian" of the use of his works in a pagan context (Tarot), you only need to look at his works to know this is false. Tolkien's work was all about Norse mythology and fairy tales. The Silmarillion was all about a pantheon of gods very much in a pagan tradition. Not to say that Tolkien himself was Pagan, but he did very much celebrate pagan myths and legends.

The cards themselves are well done, and have a legend at the bottom to set the scene for each.

I'm very happy with the deck, and whether you buy it as a Tolkien fan as a collectible, or as a fan who's also a Tarot enthusiast, I think it's a good buy.

1-0 out of 5 stars An insult to both Tolkien and the Tarot
As numerous people have mentioned, Tolkien was a Catholic, but I don't think that would have anything to do with why he wouldn't like this deck, as the Tarot was invented and primarily used by the Catholic culture of medieval and Rennaisance Europe. As a historian, he would have appreciated that. However, this deck makes a mockery both of the ancient symbolism and complex history of the Tarot, as well as the beauty and mythic scope of Tolkien's works. The symbolism is all wrong, the artwork is mediocre at best, and all of the meanings of both Tolkien's works and the Tarot cards are completely twisted and taken out of context. A wonderful concept used as a way to make a quick buck. If you are a serious Tarot reader or collector, or have any respect for the venerated author, don't buy this deck. ... Read more

Cool, but cuddabeen betta!
As a native New Yawkah & avid Uno player, I was excited to discover and purchase this edition and see what would be portrayed on the cards. Frankly, the photos are lousy, as if someone (actually about 10 nobodies) wanted to prove how artistically they could portray the Big Apple. Postcards these are not. Grimy, gritty real, yeah, sure. But two photos of NYC subway stations - come on! But, okay,SKIP EVERONE is very cool - fuhgedaboutit! If you're from New York, you'll recognize Trinity Church, if not, you wouldn't know if from Adam, as we say. Dah Bwooklin Bwidge is dair, yellow cabs and fire hydrants too, and my friends couldn't stop playing New York Uno - they loved it. It's good, but cudda been bedda.

Nice!
Great box and nice photos. Very well though out. The cards are nearly like postcards. They bring back a lot of memories about vacations in New York City and give ideas about what to do next time. Nice! ... Read more

Cribbage still reigns as one of the English-speaking world'smost popular card games. (And we owe it all to one of the 17thcentury's unsung heroes, Sir John Suckling, English knight, poet, playwright, and inventor of "cribbidge.") This simple, handsome setgives you everything you need to play the classic game, includinginstructions, a standard deck of high-quality Bicycle cards, and a15-inch-long, solid-wood board with continuous scoring lanes painted onit. 5-0 out of 5 stars Cribbage is a classic card game
Cribbage is a very fun. fast-paced game, which involves a lot of strategy. The Pavilion Deluxe Cribbage set contains everything you need to play cribbage: a very nice wooden board with a tri-colored track, pegs, a deck of cards, and an instruction sheet with instructions on how to play with up to six people. Being a very high-quality set, and at its low cost, this set is perfect for anybody who plays, or wants to start playing cribbage.

cribbage
Cribbage is a really fun game. It is my favorite game.

truth in advertising
I love the board but, all advertising claims it to come with a deck of Bycicle cards but in reality it only comes with a deck of Pavillion cards.

Good game, but there are better boards
Cribbage is a classic game of strategy and mathematics, great for all ages. However, this is just a basic board. Its only advantages are the price and that it has three tracks so you can play with three people instead of just two or four. It is pretty cheaply made, with plastic pegs and painted-on tracks. There are much more beautiful boards out there, many with additional scoring features if you really get into playing Cribbage. You can even make your own board, and any deck of cards will work. Bottom line: okay starter board for beginners.

get out the sandpaper
When I turned the board over,it left a 2 inch sliver of wood in my pant leg. Sand all edges before using. ... Read more

fun game
I got this game and i got to say it is fun, but the rules suck. All you do is match the cards together with the same color and add up the points. If I were you I would get the new, funner marvel vs. game from www.ude.com/marvel

Great value and a huge hit!
My 5 and 7 year old boys are avid Marvel Comic fans, and this was pure heaven when Santa delivered it. I was amazed at the amount of cards (in assorted packages) this game came with for only $10. They are huge into the trading card games, so this was perfect for them. The cards are nicely illustrated with a ton of information on the characters. I highly recommend this for the Marvel Comic fans. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Simple and beatiful, reminds me of a bit of crazy 8's
In this game you have to make a "chain" of cards in yor hand to connect any two of the "anchors" on the table. A chain is simply a sequence of cards which share a color or symbol between any pair.

If you've played Crazy Eights or Uno, you know what a sequence looks like: red 3, red 5, green 5, blue 5, blue 7, etc. In Linx, the sequence doesn't come from the two players - you build the longest one you can in your own hand, and the two end cards have to be any two of the four cards on the table. It's an easy-to-learn, fun game that doesn't require huge amoumts of concentration, so it's a great change ofpace for the Uno crowd who might wnat something new once in a while.

The cards themselves are very nice and colorful and the reflective tin is not just beautiful, but it stores the cards and can't tear like a paper box. ... Read more

Really fun game
I found this game online because I was looking for the rules on how to play the game. My friends and I were using regular cards and plastic spoons. Then I came across this one. It's great. The spoons are more durable than the regular plastic ones... which helps when 2 people are grabbing for the same spoon. It's a fun game that can cause some arguing over "i had it first". Just remember..... it's only a game. Some minor injuries have occurred such as being jabbed by someone's finger nail. We play that you're not out of the game until you spell out the word SPOONS. You get a letter each time you don't get a spoon. Others play that if you don't get a spoon on the first time around, you're out. I would recommend ages 10 and over.

5-0 out of 5 stars A game which is fun for ALL ages
Though the product is suggested for ages 4 to 10, it is great for anyone who loves exciting card games. I'm 17 and I play this game at school during study halls with my friends...so when I saw this I had to have it. It may not seem like the most interesting game ever, but when you start playing it, it truly is fun and exciting. The spoon grabbing part sometimes causes arguments, but that's the fun of the whole game. If you want to share a fun and enjoyable game with your friends and family, this is a sure bet. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars The whole family can be involved!
Do not be fooled by the size of the box, Escapades packs something for everyone in this container. You have over 300 different activities for individuals to large groups, from the very young to adult. Talicor has created a product that should allow everyone to enjoy him or herself.

While the game instructions are easy to follow and you up and running in virtually no time, the game cards should have the ages printed on them. The cards are easy to understand although most cards are geared for the younger crowds.

The game comes with category dividers and is reasonably priced. The activities are excellent for good interaction and are interesting. The game requires the player to provide common household items to play. Most cards have clear simple instruction with pictures to show you what to do.

Escapades would be an excellent aide for teachers and families. You have enough things to do, so even on the rainy day you can find just the right activity for fun. ... Read more
