Strange Reaction
I suspect this toy will not be extremely fun. You just try to press on the star on the mat to match which ever light flashes on the panel. The Wave Dance Maker will be put aside by kids and forgotten about. However, our daughter got a similar product called the Dance Maker 2 as a gift which seemed to go over better with kids. We thought it was awful & a piece of junk, but when her friends came over for a birthday party, they couldn't stop playing it! We were surprised. I think that because Dance Maker 2 has you compete against someone else, it was more fun for everyone. In that product both people try to copy the lights with their feet, whoever does better wins. Kids would just watch the competition and want to go next. Even parents got involved. There is no music on the Dance Maker 2, we just put some dance music on the stereo and it was fine (better than the lame music a machine like the Wave Dance Maker could produce (however when you play your own music, there's no correlation between the lights and the music) but the kids didn't seem to care. It's just a game of reflexes (matching the lights as quickly and accurately as you can). So I guess if you get anything, get the Dance Maker 2 as long as you think you have 2 or more kids who would like to play. Even dance maker 2 is pretty cheap. At the end of 3 minutes of competition, it calculates who won and flashes a light indicating who won (no score readout or anything thing like that). Honestly I can't even tell if it counts steps correctly - for all we know it randomly picks the winner. But most people didn't care, they just wanted to try and beat someone. Who would have figured! My wife almost returned the item but pulled it out when kids came over for the birthday party and it was a huge hit (we were dumbfounded). We've had people calling asking the name of it ever since, (but it seems very hard to get now - most places were out of stock around Christmas time). Either it was a hot seller or they stopped producing it because it was junk. Who knows.

This toy is very great. It teaches you the coolest dances while listening to your favorite songs. Very fun and great for a party. It is no doubt defintely worth it!

Juice Your Casio Keyboard
Why waste money on batteries? That there would be crazy.

Works great for me
I got a Casio keyboard for xmas, and, considering it's size and quality, I was a little disapponted that it didn't come with a power supply (integrated or external (integrated would've been better)) but the next day I went to Toys R Us and bought this little gem and now all is fine.

Wrong Adaptor
I, like the other customers. ordered this adaptor based on the recommendation from the site, and was disappointed when, on Christmas Eve, I realized this was not right for the keyboard we had ordered. This situation was particularly misleading since the adaptor was practically "bundled" for sale with a product for which it is not compatible.

We bought also the keybord and the adapter (as recommended) and it does not fit. I already tried to buy a new one, but it is not available.

TOO HARD TO DO
This was the number one toy my 5.5 yr old daughter wanted for Easter. She loves playing with Mommy and Daddy's PDA and this was to be one of her own. The new color one might be better as the Barbie Black and White is too hard to see and not much fun to color. (Hmmm, shall this be black or...white?) It was also very difficult to figure out what the games were. I got her the Dino cartridge, which she did play with, but since the second day, it's been on the bottom of the toy box.

Pixter Plus Good Pixter Color Great
I bought my daughter a Pixter Plus Christmas before lasr ( not Barbie) it looks cute and I like it but it was hard for her to do? So she didn't really play with it! I bought a pixter color this birthday and she plays with it all the time. It is much easier to work with. Big price difference I know but I would hold out!!!! You really do not need any games. It is fun by itself.

Cute!
I bought this for my daughter who is only 18 months. I know she will love it for Xmas. My son is getting the new color version. She will be going nuts for his so this was my solution to not buying another $80 one for a small child. So yes, I am aware it is for 4+. It arrived today and looks really adorable! Maybe when she is older they will make a Barbie version in Pink with color. =)

Great for that budding artist...
We got this for my 6 year old daughter just before she had surgery, thinking it'd be something quiet she could do during the long car rides to the hospital and back, and during recovery. It was a hit! She loves it. We've stressed that it should be kept in it's case while she's not using it as the manufacturer suggests, and she respects that. The cartridiges don't offer a big assortment or variety of things to do per cartridge, but how much would you expect to be able to do on a small screen. My daughter loved doodling on her Dad's Palm Pilot but he always worried she'd accidentally delete important files. Now they can both doodle at the same time! I researched the Pixter before we bought it, most people complained of the noise... while I agree that a headphone jack would have been nice, with me up front and her in the middle of my van I'm really oblivious to it. It's a noise you learn to contend with since it makes your child happy. The light makes a great addition for night time use. ... Read more

Very educational and fun
I got this as a get well gift about two weeks ago.I normally do not like crossword puzzels that much but this crossword puzzle machine is fun and strengthens your vocabulary immensely.I would reccomend this to a 14 or above age area or a very intelligent 13 year old (like me).If you are a parent and your kid likes crossword puzzels get them this.It can be very challenging though.Sometimes I need help from my parents to figure some out.I like how it has over 500 crossword puzzels right in the palm of your hands.

This game is the coolest! Why is it the coolest you ask well word searches to me is the funniest thing to do when you are bored so just pick up this game and you wont be borded!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A disappointment
As a rabid Times crossword fan, I looked forward to getting this, but returned it. The screen is hard to see, and one must keep switching back and forth from clues to grid, making it more frustrating than fun to use.
My alternative recommendation is, if you have a handheld, to get the Stand Alone crossword software. I've since downloaded it and like it much better than this thing. Or you could just buy a crossword puzzle book or five, considering what this device costs. ... Read more

Cute but needs an additional feature
Love the lamp. We bought it for our 7 year old. Two features confuse me though. One is mentioned in the manufacturers review "the dimmer" and the other is a feature missing "sleep timer".

The manufacturer's review mentions a light dimmer. My lamp does not have one. Also, my daughter likes to fall asleep with her radio on and since there is no sleep timer, I am forced to go in and turn it off every night. This feature is sorely missed....

Otherwise, it is a cute and funtional product and a great addition to any little girls bedroom.

Love it, but
This is a great buy, my daughter loves it. My only complaint is that you cant see the time when the lamp is on. Other than that I recommend it 100%.

What a joke
1) The screen is ridiculously small (2.5" diagonally) and very washed out (=poor quality).

2) This player ONLY plays "mini DVDs", not regular DVDs.There are very few titles available in this format, and they are not cheap (~$20 each for cr**py titles).

3) This player is not smaller than most regular portable DVD players.

4) The machine has nothing to recommend it for, nothing, nada.

I absolutely love the CyberHome Mini-DVD Player.It is such a great alternative to the bigger portable DVD players on the market.I can literally put this player in my coat pocket battery and all.It weights a mere 3/4's of a pound w/battery.And to all the people who say that your media is limited, I say to you purchase a DVD burner for your PC or a stand alone one for your TV.I have a stand alone Panasonic DVD burner with a hard drive connected to my TV and I have a fun time burning movies and TV episodes to the 3" Mini-DVD dics I purchase at BestBuy. You can also purchase 200MB Mini-CD's and burn MP3's to play in the CyberHome Mini-DVD player.The screen is active matrix and is very crisp and clear, color is un-real and the sound quality is perfect and in stereo. Don't buy this.
The DVD the player comes with has a hard time loading. And when it does after about a minute of waiting you get a nicely scratched up disc from all the spinning it does.

The fact is, a regular portable DVD player isnt much larger. But the screen is alot easier to see and more DVD are available.

Missed the point of paddle controllers
I am a fan of Jakks' Namco TV games, but they messed up with this one. The point of having a paddle (knob) controller is to have smooth control over your position on screen. With this unit, the paddle does not move smoothly on screen; it jumps from position to position as you turn the knob. Circus Atari was actually a much better game than what you get here; in this version you only get 8 discrete positions to play from, a limitation which often prevents you from achieving anything.

The other games don't suffer quite as much from this deficiency in Jakks' design, so there is still some fun to be had. You get many options for each game, such as difficulty and play variations. You even get arcade versions of Pong and Warlords.

Overall, this little unit worth having even though it is not as good as the original games. In what were originally two-player games, the computer's skill level is set very nicely. But I probably would have been happier if I had waited to get Jakks' other paddle TV game, which does let you play against another person. ... Read more

The Nikko Rechargeable battery and adapter makes a good deal for money. It has slashed my battery bills to nothing. The set is light in weight and can be conveniently recharged in hours.
