Great Game, but...
My kids ages 7 and 8 just got it and loved it. Their 1st video game. It is not as sophisticated as Xbox and Playstation but great for their age and great to travel with and the price is right.
One note: It may not work on all TV's. We have 3 (all have RCA inputs). The game works fine on 2 out of the 3.

Blast from the past!
We just got our Activision 10-in-1 TV Games yesterday, and my 5 year old son and I are already enjoying playing it. The games are just as I remember as a kid -- both sight and sound -- and my son is easily picking them up too. The best thing: it's ultra portible, so we can take it to Grandma's house, on vacation, etc...

One problem that we are having, though, is that the color from the unit occasionally flickers to a different hue or to B/W. I've isolated the problem to the unit itself (eg, it's not a TV or jack problem), so we may be needing to get an exchange. I'm curious if anyone else has seen this problem too.

Just what I thought it'd be
Old games from when I was a kid. Boring but fun enough, easy to learn and play. Brings back memories from Atari 2600. Wish there was better instructions on how to play the game, mostly going from memory. Very convenient to be all in one little joypad.

Doesn't Work Beware
My daughter opened hers on Christmas and was excited pluged it in and it didn't work However my friends did on my TV. I e-mailed Amazon.com about it and they sent another one got it today plugged it in and it didn't work either. Very disappointed!!

Great, convenient flashback to grand old games!
This item was such a cool find! We keep it in the car mostly, hooked up to a little TV/VCR I jury-rigged to run there.

My daughter also takes it on trips and has used it in hotel rooms and even on a ferry and in an airport! Anywhere with video plugs on the front or back of a set. A great picture, with just a bunch of AA batteries.

We love the Freeway (chicken crossing the highway) game just for its laugh value alone. Boxing and ice hockey for relieving tension and grumpyness. Pitfall Harry and River Raid for action. The others are so-so. Great collection overall.

Waiting for the new Atari 10-in-1, due Dec 2002! Old games still play well! ... Read more

Amazon.com Product Description

The e-Reader is an accessory for use with the Game Boy Advance that reads information from collectible trading cards and translates it on the GBA into standalone games or enhancements to some traditional games. The e-Reader connects into the GBA cartridge slot and can also connect to another GBA or even a GameCube. Players simply slide the paper cards, available for as low as $1.95, through the e-Reader much as you slide a credit card through a point-of-purchase machine at a grocery store. When you do this, the unit scans the codes imprinted on the card and stores the information in its 1-megabit flash ROM for as long as the power is on. Animal Crossing for the GameCube takes advantage of this technology, and many more uses are planned. This set includes the e-Reader unit and the e-Reader card for the NES version of Pinball. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Nice gadget with lots of potential
The e-Reader is a very cool idea, especially if Nintendo follows up with lots of classic NES games. $40 may seem a bit steep for the reader, but you DO get a full game with it, as well as an old "Game and Watch" game (which is rather fun), and Pokémon stuff, if you are into that sort of thing. If nothing else, the Pokémon mini-games can be entertaining, albeit very simplistic.

One tip, though - unless you absolutely LOVE pinball games, you might want to get the e-Reader bundle with Donkey Kong instead. Nintendo Pinball is *very* basic and the physics are fairly loose. It's fun, but it's not a good demonstration of what the NES was capable of. I bought the e-Reader, as well as Excitebike-e and Balloon Fight-e, both of which are a blast to play.

Anyway, I got a bit sidetracked. The e-Reader has lots of potential, and if you are a Pokémon fan, you will find even more value in it with Pokémon Expidition and future card sets. If you like retro games from the NES era, you are in for a real treat as well. The fact that you can pick up a classic game for $5 and play it on the GBA adds a lot of value to the device - especially if Nintendo goes ahead and ports such classics as Metroid and the original Zelda titles.

Buy it if: You like Pokémon, or you are interested in classic Nintendo games for $5 a pop.

Don't buy it if: You hate Pokémon, didn't like the NES, and have zero interest in remakes of old LCD games from the Nintendo stable.

5-0 out of 5 stars FUN FUN FUN!!!!!!!!!!!
The e-reader is a great kinda thing for people that like old NES games. I think it is a great product...SO GO BY IT!!!!!!!!!!

Next Generation Gameplay: E-reader
the e-reader is an incredible device for the gameboy advance why?what do you think about complete nes games that comes in trading cards for 5 bugs each ,pretty cool huh, but wait theres more¡¡¡¡¡¡
this are great news for pokemon fans the reason? pokemon-e are special trading cards that have special minigames and tips videos sound effects and also special features like a coin flipper for your game boy to be found.and this is the begining why if for the next megaman battle network you can buy megaman-e cards for make megaman more powerful or to have new techniques i think that nintendo can do great things whith this incredible product so what are you waiting for? buy it and you wont regret it¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ ... Amazon.com Product Description

This pack of cards is for use with the Nintendo e-Reader accessory, which reads information from the cards and translates it into games for the Game Boy Advance system. This bundle comes with the following card packs:

  • Excitebike: Top cyclists from all over the world have gathered to test their skill and daring in the Excitebike World Championship--the first-ever motocross designer race. Riders must not only overcome the incredible dangers of motocross racing, they must design the winning or losing course. The anticipation in the air is apparent as the riders, with engines fired up, inch toward the starting line.
  • Tennis: It's match point and your advantage. You drive a rocket serve to the far corner and rush the net. Your opponent makes a great return lob to the baseline. You scramble back and get off a crosscourt passing shot for the point and match. See if you have what it takes to be the ultimate pro!
  • Balloon Fight: The balloons are coming! They're floating around carrying the enemy, who is armed with more ammo than plain hot air. The only thing to do is hop in your own balloon and counterattack. The balloon fight is on--raging over land and sea.
  • Pinball: From bumpers to flippers, all the action is here. Launch the pinball from the lane onto the table and rack up megapoints. Keep the ball on the table with two sets of flippers and score big by turning over cards, knocking out lights, and hitting as many bumpers as possible. There is even a secret Mario minigame to discover. With all the action of real pinball, this game is full-tilt fun.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great when it arrives but gets repetative
If you get bored easily E-Reader is obviously for you. This pack contains classic games that are fun for the first 2 months but get repetative. Personally I believe this is better than purchasing NES games because it is probably cheaper and it is portable.

Excitebikes level editor keeps the replay value pretty high. The racing mode is fun too. Best game in the set.

Balloon Fight is exactly like JOUST if you have ever played it. The Journey mode gives the game a nice twist.

Pinball doesnt have much. 1 table and 1 bonus round. Worst game in the set.

Tennis is a stripped down Mario-Tennis clone. You run up to the ball, press A and hit it... Amazingly addicting actually.

Every time you get bored of one game you can swipe to another...

Great if you like collecting and old Nintendo games
These cards are part of Nintendo's latest accessory, the Card-e reader. The games in this set are Pinball, Balloon Fight, Tennis, and Excitebike. Using the E-reader (sold seperately), you can run the barcodes on the cards through it and then play the games the cards are based on. Other available NES games include Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Jr., Mario Bros., Ice Climber, Baseball, and Urban Champion. There are also some other E-reader sets, like Animal Crossing, Pokemon, and an upcoming Game & Watch set.

For those who enjoy collecting cards, who like classic Nintendo games, or who just like fancy peripherals, these are great and fun to buy. Sold individually, the prices on these cards are a bit steep. ... However, this package deal is a great buy, so long as you have a taste for them. ... Read more

Its pretty kool...
Its pretty fun...its more of a Giga-Pet than anything else...Ummm...it has a couple of features from the website...I would reccomend it for n e 1 who likes Giga-Pet type things...

This thing is great!!
I think this thing is great! I got one 12 hours ago and it is so fun. The games are simple, the layout is great, and the lighting is good. One complaint... The games only give you Neopoints the first three times you play it a day, unless you want to play the slots game. Overall, this product is one of the best toys I've played with. I highly recommend it to all the Neopets fans around. Plus you can take this thing everywhere!

great
it was fun educational in side is a whole new world where you learn to spend save and shop and I gave it to my sister and she loved it you can also go online at neopets.com and if you have a neopet accont you get a rare virtule item.

this is nide
This I think is the best neopet of all. The size is podable so u can take it any were if you are a new neopet owner. Like me you have to read the instructions book. Anyone 6+ people will like this toy because it is like having a real pet.

Great toy for Neopet Lovers!
This is a great toy. It uses some of the same basics as the online game such as playing games to earn neopoints and then buyingthings to keep your pet happy. The cames are fun and simple. The games also teach children how to follow directions. Overall, this is a great toy that any Neopet Fan should buy. It is definantly worth the money to be able to play neopets anywhere not just on a computer. If you are new to Neopets, the game might be a little bit hard to understand but it will still be fun. ... Editorial Review

Cross an electronic organizer, a cell phone, and a hand-held game caddy, and you have the Cybiko--the toy for Generation Y.Cybiko touts this hand-held unit as a "Wireless Inter-tainment System" for communicating (e-mail style)and playing video games--just what young, mobile, tech-minded kids are into these days. Thismultifunctional device offers wireless, high-frequency, digital connections to other Cybiko units within a range of 150 feet indoors to 300 feet outdoors.

Among the Cybiko's many functions: Users can chat wirelessly, play interactive games with friends orother Cybiko users, e-mail anyone on the Internet, and nurture the cyberpet, "CyLandia." The Cybiko alsohas a "Find a Friend" feature that can be utilized like personal classified ads. Tons of new games and internet software can be downloaded daily from Cybiko.com into the Cybiko unit. Also, it stores addresses, phone numbers, e-mails, and even offers a personal planner.

The Cybiko has a few minor limitations: It only downloads from personal computers, not Macintoshes; forinitial use, upgrading and "staying in the loop" depends on downloading vital information from Cybiko'sWeb site, including all Cybiko-compatible games; and users must plug into a hard drive to send and receivee-mails.

Included is one Cybiko unit, equipped with a stylus for keying tiny buttons; a rechargeable battery, an adapter for charging or plugging in; and an adapter cable for downloading to and from PCs. There's also adetailed user's manual to help with the initial programming. The Cybiko is 5.7 by 2.8 by .86 inches, weighsless than 5 ounces, and churns with a 32-bit, 11-MHz Hitachi main processor, and 512 KB of RAM. --Diane Beall ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A Great Helper
I've had my Cybiko for about two weeks now, and it rocks!!! It can help you stayed organized, and do much more! I've known some grown-ups that have even purchased this item for orginization purposes! Lots of people say, "It limits you to a number of games and applications you can download" well, the amount of things it gives you is around 600 different downloads and their coming up with new ones every day! My friends are all getting one, so the communications will work. You can chat, email, and do lots of other stuff! I've known lots of people that say it's stupid, but they don't have one of their own! With a small, affordable adapter, you can connect it up to your Macintosh! If you have a windows, you don't even have to buy an adapter because it's included! My teachers at school don't mind me bringing it because I have an application called "Study Stools" where I can load all of my assignments for the day into my Cybiko! I also have a "Note Pad" where you can type things in and save them! Then, you can transfer them onto your "Big Computer" and print it out! Over 600 applications and games to choose of! This toy is very fun and useful, so please note that this is a great thing for you or your child!

Good for Electronics Projects
I bought 5 of this for my electronic projects and these work great. Just 1 of 5 had dead batteries.

I have one connected to my caller id box and when anyone calls me I can see his/her phone number and name on other cybikos located in different places in my house and receive, by mean of my TINI module connected to cybiko and internet, a SMS in my cellular phone.

I have another one connected to a network of temperature sensors located around my house and the temperatures can be seen on any cybiko.

Finally I have one connected to my TINI module and all this information can be seen from the internet.

Great purchase for electronics hobbiests. ... Read more

awsome game!
This game is cool! If you like the hulk, you'll love this VR game!

Hulk good or bad?
I bought this toy for my six year old son. He thought it was great. At first he really liked it but my younger son tried it on and he thought it was scary. I tried it on once and the graphics were decent. And then my eyes got watery. I would recommend this toy for six years old to twelve years old.

Hulk 3D Game
This is a fun arcade game with multiple, challenging levels, different modes, and an interesting enough style. One particularly fun thing is that instead of shooting guns or another cliche method of wiping out bad guys, you chuck cinder blocks at the oncoming tanks. This game is a must-have if you've never experienced VR before, and even if you have experienced it and you have the spare money, it's worth the buy. ... Read more
