Editorial Review

Anyone who's ever done it knows the indescribable feeling--getting Yahtzee in one roll! Of course, this five-of-a-kind phenomenon only happens once in a blue moon. The rest of the time, players must be content with a three-roll full house, large or small straight, or any other combination of five dice. In this seductive game of luck and strategy, players have three tries each turn to roll dice in hopes of obtaining the elusive Yahtzee--or racking up points in one of the 12 other scoring categories. For a real challenge, go for a bonus Yahtzee--two or more in one game! This parlor classic has captivated and vexed players, young and old, since 1956. Game includes five dice, dice cup, 10 bonus chips, score pad, and instructions (English and Spanish). For one or more players. --Emilie Coulter ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars YAHTZEE!!!
Yahtzee is the best roll the dice game I have ever played in my life! Getting a YAHTZEE is fun and it is also fun for the whole family. My family and I love to play it every night! Buy this game!

A Game of Luck
This game is just not fun. Too much of it depends on luck, even if there is some strategy. If you want a fun board game, get something else, this game is just boring.

Classic game, but soon loses it's excitment
While I'm not saying this isn't a fun game, it doesn't have the staying power of word games or logic games. While it does take some skill to determine what item to go for when a roll goes bad, too much of the game is blind luck.

It's certainly helpful with math skills and I recommend it to younger kids that need a fun way to strengthen math skills, when it comes to pure gaming, this one leaves a bit to be desired.

Great game at a great price
We got this game for our nine year old son for Christmas. We only had to play it with him a few times before he and his seven year old brother got the hang of it. Now they can play without any help from us. It is also a great game because it is one their dad and I like to play with them. Our two and four year old can even get in on the action by teaming up with one of us and rolling the dice for us. It is a great family game.

What a FUN game!
This fun, enjoyable game is a great pressent for Christmas or birthdays. If you're alone, you can always play Yahtzee, since 1 or over people can enjoy the thrill and excitment! I own this game and I've used seven of the score sheets (which have 6 games on 1) over the past four days with my friend Imogene.
You also get better at quickly adding up numbers! ... Read more

Best,,, Game... EVER!!
AAAAAAAAAAH! I LOVE MYSTERY DATE!! WOO-HOO! I play it all the time with my buds, this game rocks!

What a blast!!!
I bought this game for my daughter for Christmas. Her 12th birthday was just a couple days after Christmas, and she had a few friends spend the night. They played this game almost all night and all I heard was giggles!!! It was a huge hit with her friends and is the perfect slumber party game!! They all want one!! The "dating" theme is more of a friendship thing than a romantic theme, so it really is age-appropriate, although I do think 9 is a little young. I played it with her and had a blast with it as well. There are actually 3 different games to play, so that increases the entertainment value as well. We have not had any trouble with the phone at all. A great game for older pre-teen and teenage girls!! A very wholesome approach to the whole boys and dating issue!

Don't waste your money!
My daughter wanted this game for Christmas so I bought it for her and wish that I would've saved my time because it went back to the store! The telephone worked for about 2 minutes tops and then became distorted. I changed the batteries and it still didn't work right. Maybe you will have better luck but I'm not going to buy it again.

What a hoot!
An updated for the new century version of the old "open the door" to your mystery date we all remember. My daughter is only 6 so was definately young for the game but we were looking for something to add to our 'family game night' toys that was girly. My 8 YO son enjoys it - just because he gets to play with the phone I think. I rate it as high in fun because my husband and I just got such a laugh out of this game! The kids liked the phone, we play in teams (mom against dad, switching children back and forth) and at least when playing with his family, our son did not seem to mind that it was more of a girls game then a boys game. They really should modify this concept for boys..it would not involve dating at all though for boys! Mystery monster maybe!!

Lots of fun.. but didn't work long!!
We loved the game. But the middle 3 digits including the number 5 stopped working after 20 minutes. Since all the phone numbers start with 555, we were unable to play a full game. ... Read more

Even electronic toys have gone extreme. Kids love the original Bop It, an electronic toy that challenges response time to pull, twist, and bop different parts of the toy. The extreme version adds two more tasks, more sounds, and a taunting, smart-aleck announcer who directs the game. As you get better, the game moves faster until you miss a beat and lose, accompanied by a fair amount of noise and ridicule from the toy. People who don't think they'd ever want to play Bop It Extreme won't be able to put it down; it instills a compulsive need to bop till you drop. It can be played in a group and makes a good party game--even for serious adults. --Lynne Sampson ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars This is one of the best toys EVER!!!
Now, mind you, this is coming from the perspective of a twenty-something. My friends and I are all addicted to this game. So, it's a big crowd pleaser with young adults, and even adults who wish they were young. However, it's also a lot of fun for older children.

I would not advise buying this toy for a young child, because it requires a lot of fine motor skills, coordination, and concentration. The premise is simple. The game talks and tells you to do one of five things: bop it, flick it, spin it, twist it, and pull it. The game tells you to do one of these things, and then you pick the part that corresponds to it (they are labled with the same names) and perform the required action (ie, if it tells you to "pull it" you pull the little blue thing).

Amazon has provided an online version of Bop It Extreme that you can try out for yourself to see what I mean. However, be warned. The online version seems to be a lot easier than the real thing for some reason.

This game is challenging, and will force you to play it over, and over and over...

You won't regret buying this game, whether it is for yourself, or for an older child. Oh, unless you are a parent and hate loud toys. There is no volume control on this toy, so you will be annoyed. Fair warning. :)

5-0 out of 5 stars The Commands will Haunt your head!
I never imagined how addictive or fun this toy would be from seeing the ads alone, then one day my friend got it and threw it at me to try. I was instantly hooked and had to get one.
Its a great toy to train focus and speed thinking along with great eye/hand/ear coordination. The pace and variety of moves (spin, flick, pull, bop, twist) keeps the game challenging and interesting for a long time.
Aside from regular solo Bop-it, there is also Bee-bop (instead of verbal commands, sound effects only are used), and the best part is the "group play" in which "pass it" is added to the commands and you dont want to be the one who gets stuck with it and screw up. (and yes, the toy will taunt you!) This is always a lot of fun to play in groups, especially if everyone jams along with the beat.
With all that said, you will annoy most other people in the room with the noise this toy makes...unless you let them play, and then everyone will have those sound effects and beat box running through their heads!!!

bop it EXTREME
I'm just a kid so I know fun. My best friend Lauren came over to play and brought her brother"s bop it extreme in case we got boarded. We ended up playing it for most of the tiime and she was over for 3&1/2 hours. This toy is really, Really, REALLY FUN. It's great for kids of all ages. My friend Lauren's little sister Allie can play it and she's only 3( she's really good too!) I recomend this toy for any person age 3 and up. If(when) you buy it you won't regret it because this to will ROCK YOUR WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Play the original first before this one
I like the game .People say its great. In my opinion,it's good but its not great. This was the 1998 sequel to Bop It(1996).plus,there was a sequel to the Bop It- Extreme:Bop It-Extreme 2(2002 or 03).Since this was the 2nd bop it,this has 5 actions:Pull it,twist it,bop it,spin it and flick it instead of 3.the game is a little too hard.I can never get the high score. The game is even more nuts when there is sounds instead of words. This is fun it's just that i'd rather you buy bop it before this one

Ain't the thing I was expecting,
Hi ya people, once again I got a nother toy. It is kind of fun in a way. Now, on to the review. In a way it is fun. I mean, sheesh, go buy bop it extream 2. This thing don't even have something to make it SHUT$& ! Yeah, there is'nt much differince in the game thingies. No diff at all. Next to that bop it extrem 2 has a head phone plug to lisin and play without disterbing anyone. Now, bop it extrem before you play choose what setting you want. I know beep-bop solo is when you play by yourself. Bop box is when you here tunes and noises. I don't know about the other settings. They ain't all that challenging. I bet you are wondering how to turn it off. Well, after you lost put it down gentley and it is automaticley shut off. So I recomend bop it extrem 2 more than I recomend bop it extrem. Groove It is evolved from earlier handheld games that annoyingly commanded players to push, twist or hit something, ever faster, to keep things going. Even CEOs lost their cool playing with those things. Now it's a bit less monotonous, and embarrassing. Instead of awkward knobs and buttons, players pass a hand over motion-detecting lasers and lights that simulate the sliding, zooming, and scratching sounds made by the earlier games. As well, instead of one goofy musical score, this version has two types of background music, and talks more clearly to let you know if your move was right or wrong. Kids and adults alike can play, as the game has 3 skill levels and a variety of progressive speeds.Required: 3 "AA" batteries.Diane Beall ... Read more

if you're a fan of boggle...
Portable boggle unit for boggle fans. Dictionary is depressingly thorough - tells you all the huge long words you missed!

It's a little slow to enter the words via the arrow keys, if you are used to scribbling them down on paper in the traditional game. You can obviously still play that way if you like, then the advantage of the unit is that it's a lot more portable than the traditional game. If you do enter the words, it will check them against the dictionary and compute your score automatically.

They need to make a handheld version of "master boggle"; or a unit that could play either "boggle" or "master boggle".

P.S. Another reviewer said you can't turn off the sound, which is incorrect. RTFM. In the game setup screen, you hold down the "left" and "right" buttons together for 3 seconds to toggle the sound.

Boggle HandHeld Game
Overall this game is very good.
Pros: 1. Great game you can play with 2 people.
2. Great game for a challenge.

Cons: 1. Sound can't be turned off. (I opened it up and disconnected the wire)
2. Can't add words to the dictionary, the memory isn't writable.
3. When playing the computer in an untimed game, you always go first. It would be good to know how many words the computer found. I've played it for over a year and I've never beat the computer on the untimed or timed game.

A fun addition to any Boggle-lover's collection!
This is a great addition to any Boggle-lover's collection! Its small size is convenient to carry most anywhere. There are two basic games, timed and untimed. In the timed variation (3 minutes), two players can challenge each other. This is probably the device's strongest point. When playing against the computer, you can easily lose by 100 points or more! Unfortunately, the computer only gives you a partial list of words which it thinks you missed. But it's good practice anyway. In the untimed variation, you can only play with one player. The manual indicates that you can play an untimed variation with a 2nd player, but this is not true. The only other concern is that the screen is sometimes difficult to read - the lighting has to be just right. The screen is also not back-lit. Despite the few complaints , I still think this is a really fun gadget for Boggle lovers who would like to practice on the go!

Excellent, educational and fun!
This game is challenging on many levels...especially if you have a fascination with words! It even tells you the words you missed finding! Having a timed and untimed game option makes play even more fun. You can play the computer or another person. Sounds are a bit annoying, but you can turn them off. This game is much more challenging than the handheld Scrabble game. Only bad point (why I gave 3 stars for durability) is that replacing the batteries is difficult. The screw securing the battery cover panel is extraordinarily hard to remove. Other than that, it is an excellent game! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Love this Game!
My daugther just received this game for her 4th birthday. She played it once at a friend's house and had been talking about it ever since. She was SO excited when she opened this present. The game is so much fun.It is a kids game that I actually like playing.(nice to get a break from Candyland and Chute and Ladders) It is easy to figure out how to play -- just a matter of reading the directions, which are simply written and easy to understand. The object of the game is to find out who ate the cake, what time they ate it and what they had to drink with it.The figures slide into the disc shaped stands and which ever figure has the picture of cake crumbs is the one who ate it.The stands slide off so the person who ate the cake is never the same.It is similar to the original clue game in that you go to the different rooms etc.It is just simplified. The game is designed for 5-8 year olds but my daugther just turned 4 and loves playing it!I do have to help her out a little but eventually she'll be able to play it with out my help. When we're not playing the game, she loves to play "house" with the figures.I'd recommend this for any young dectective or any parent who is looking for a break from other child games!

2-0 out of 5 stars UMMMMMMMMMM.........................
OK when my dad bought this game for me I was excitied. Then my friend came over and TRIED to play it but how do you know if they ate the cake or not?! All they give you is, Miss Scarlett,Mr.Plum etc, some pieces of paper with different drinks and all that, futiture (I dont know why they gave me this)and a game board. So how are we supposed to find out? I have played adult clue. But they give you cards and a file. If someone know how to play Clue Jr please tell me!!!!!!!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Good Warm Up for the Older Child/Adult Version
I bought this game for my seven-year-old daughter who saw the stage version of "Clue" and I wasn't sure if she was quite ready for the regular version.

She enjoys the game thoroughly, especially the familiar characters (you know them, Professor Plum, Miss Scarlet, Mrs. Peacock, etc) though instead of murder and mayhem, they are eating cake.... Yes, it is scaled down AND in "bite sized pieces" (sorry for the pun that was `dying' to be written).

I could easily see my daughter playing this for a couple months and then graduating to the adult version. It is simple to follow, engaging and does necessitate some logical thinking for the younger set. My older daughter played along and wasn't bored like she is by some other "little kid" board games.

Go Simon
Simon hand-held is great! I love to play it in the car and boy is it durable. I've had it for about 2/1 years now and haven't replaced the batteries yet. I guess it a little edu. because you have to have skill.

FUN!!!!!!!!#1
this is great!!!!!!!!! i got this for my B-day and its great i play it EVERYDAY when i have time because im busy!!!1:}I would rate it 1000000000000000000000

One of the best toys for adults as well as kids
Simon is an excellent tool for improving memory. It stimulates the mind and provides great satisfaction along the way. The handheld version is compact and can easily be carried around in your pocket. I absolutely love it and whenever I am a little down, I play with it and immediately forget my troubles. I recommend this to all kids and especially to adults who are having trouble remembering.

this game is great
I remember the old big simon game - we used to play for hours. My son (8 years old) just got this one and he love it. It is just as addictive as is was years ago and while he thinks it's fun - I think it's great for building memory and concentration skills. It's so hard to find a toy thats fun and educational - this one is!!!

Fun and education in one fascinating package
As the clinical director of an outpatient mental health facility for children, I was constantly looking for new ways to engage the youngsters in therapy. One day I brought my son's Simon to the office, and the kids were mesmerized. The clinical staff found Simon to be especially effective in working with children with attention deficit disorder; it helped them to focus and concentrate their attention long enough to engage them in other therapeutic activities such as play therapy and art therapy. Simon was such a hit that we developed a waiting list for using it and had to order four more. My son's original Simon is still going strong after ten years of use (and umpteen battery changes). This is a really great toy that has stood the test of time. ... Read more

Where oh where has everybody gone? In Guess Where? players will find out who is hogging the bathroom, who's lurking in the kitchen, and who is lollygagging in the bedroom. Each player gets a two-sided fold-up plastic house and two sets of the same family members, one with pegs and one with tabs. After each player hides all the pegged family members throughout their own house, they begin asking yes/no questions about the whereabouts of the other player's family. As the answers to the clues build, players place tabbed family members in the lower half of their houses, in the locations they believe them to be hiding in the other house. Questions can be general (Is there a guy upstairs?) or specific (Is Grandma in the kids' room?). First person to guess where everyone in the other house is, wins! This is a terrific game for developing deduction skills, and kids will probably end up elaborating on their answers (Yes, Mom is in the bathroom, giving Kitty a bubble bath.) --Emilie Coulter ... I Can't Think of a Humourous Title For This
I was sure this game would be good when my friend, vacationing in America, bought it back for me. Being an avid adult 'Neopets' fan, I begged him to play it with me.

We invited some other Neopets fans we knew to come over and play it with us, and ended up having a five player game.

I chose the Draik, who was near Ultimate Bullseye, because I have gotten a silver Second Place Trophy in it on the website. I luckily was delt a ticket for it, and instantly went to it on my first turn. Now, my review of it:

ULTIMATE BULLSEYE:
Educational Value: 5 (out of 5)
Fun Value: 3.5
Identical to the game on Neopets value: 2.4

This is actually disappointing.. I didn't know how I prusumed it would be done, but I prusumed that it had a foam dart board.

It is actually a catapult where you try to launch it as close to the middle of a Ultimate Bullseye board in the box. The maximum win (VERY hard to get) is only 1000 Neopoints, while the Wheel of Excitement can give out 5000, allowing you to win the game. Buried Treasure can also give out 2000. It's pathetic.

I won't tell you about anymore of the games, because that would be spoiling. But Random Events (I was VERY glad they included these) include:
Pesky Meercas
Each player besides you has to donate 100 Neopoints to the Money Tree.

Sludge Ray
Destroy any random event in front of a player.

Snorkle
Whenever you play a game, you may play two tickets instead of one. If you win, collect double the Neopoints.

GREAT TOY!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hockadaisy hi, i am under neopets too and wanted you to join my guild: KaCheek's Klub, thankies!
Now for the game, it's awesome a must-have for Neopian residents! For thos e in neopia central and surrounding areas u know what I mean!

This is a really fun game!
When I got this game I thought it was going to be all right, but turns out its a BLAST! My sister and I really like playing it, though the cardboard pieces do tend to crack. But that doesn't stop us, lol. You have to buy this if you like Neopets, or if someone you know does!

mreep!
neopets game!!this is amazing!!this was handy when i was out of internet hours lol, really its an excellent game to keep the kiddies occupied, almost as good as the real thing.

Neopets Rox and this is the BEST game ever!!!
I love neopets! This game is soooooo cool and fun to play! If you play neopets, than you need this game, but even if you don't, it's still a blast! This game features seven mini games from neopets: The Wheel of Exitement, Fruit Machine, Ultimate Bullseye, Burried Treasure, Grundo Snowthrow, Poogle Races, and Tombola. This Game Rocks
Battle Ball is a sweet game. I didnt even now there was such a thing tell i went to my friends house. We played Battle Ball for about 4 hours. Thats why you need this game to live!!!!

Much Better Than You'd Think
My six year old son loves this game. The strategy is a bit beyond him, but the basic game is so simple and the rules are so easy to understand that any child who loves any type of games (including electronic ones) should have no problem grasping the fundementals. The more advanced game is good for the older child and adds just enough to keep the adult interested. Although as an adult after a couple weeks of play you might begin to get bored while your child still has a great interest in it. Try playing the game at a handicap (like starting wiht less pieces, letting the child go first, only rolling one die for your heavy tackle, etc).

haven't played yet!!!
Oh my gosh!! The directions are so long I have not gotten through them yet to learn how to play the game. Maybe they should put out a video on how to play. Right now I am trying to see if any of my nephews know how to play so they can teach us. Too many pieces, especially if you have little ones around.

GREAT!
I bought this game yesterday and played it.It was cool how different the figures looked.Even if you dont know alot about football, like I dont,it is still good.Easy to play, about 5-10 minutes to learn.

Battleball
This game is major fun. A buddy of mine and me played this game from 8pm till 2am. I saw the Ad for it on cartoon Network, and thought, hey this looks like Games Workshops Blood Bowl, And I always wanted to play that. This Game cost less than 15.00 bucks when I bought it, better than the 50 dollar blood bowl title. Have No idea if the games are related, but if you like football, tactical stratagy, and mass carnage with cyberpunk overtones get this game. Although it is designed for two or more players, this movie-based game is much more fun for a larger group of film buffs. You'll need a DVD player, along with your TV, to play the game, and it also requires the use of remote control to move the game forward as you play. The rules of the game are very simple; challenging players to recognize and call out answers based on video and sound clips they see on the screen. And because there is a good variety of classic films mixed in with more contemporary movies, the game will appeal to movie fans of all ages. Includes three different games. ... Read more

The Wheels on the Bus Game will probably drive adults 'round and 'roundthe bend, with its all-talking, all-singing action, powered by three AAbatteries (not included). But designed for 3- to 6-year-olds, this combinationof memory game, play-acting, and sing-along fits nicely into Milton Bradley's"My First Games" portfolio. Players take turns rolling the musical yellow bus totheir space on the board. Pressing the hood tells them which of the four tokens(door, wiper, horn, or wheel) to locate by turning over any two of the 20 face- down tokens. Make a match, and keep the token; collect all four, and it's anexpress ride to the winner's circle. --Tony Mason ... Read more

Annoying
I agree that this game is VERY annoying. The noise never stops - even when it is sitting on the shelf and someone bumps the box!!!

Not for weak nerves
In a word: annoying. Although benign enough for small kids, the insessant electronic "Wheels on the Bus Go Round and Round" song is too irritating to endure. The game's concept is so simple that it's really only appropriate for very young kids (2-3 years) thus they are more interested in the noise rather than the game.

It's OK
The game takes forever to play and my 3 year old loses interest before she gets all of the pieces to call the game over. Save your money and buy good ole standbys of Chutes and Ladders, Candyland and HI HO Cheery-O.

Fun Game but be aware of problems....
First the positive:
This game is very fun. It is somewhat educational in that you match color pieces for each player to their spots and must have some memory skills. It is cute and the music the bus plays is easy to understand and is not annoying. It is a great idea for a game.

Second the less than positive facts:
There really is no place to push the bus on the board very easily. We play it on the floor and push it around the board on the floor. Second, the little button on top is tempting to kids and thus we have listened to countless 'wheels on the bus' songs.

Overall:
If you look for games for your young child that are educational, this is probably a game to skip. However, if you look for toys and games that are fun and easy to play this is a good game. Even my two year old daughter was able to play this game with very little prompting.

There is another game similar to this but without the music called Penguin Pat. It is a bit more educational (counting and color matching.) We really like Penguin Pat at our house. If I had to pick one of the two, I'd pick Penguin Pat. You might consider looking at that game before buying this one. But Penguin Pat is a bit harder and my two year old has a harder time playing it.

I would most likely buy this game again and would probably buy it for other kids as a present. It is a cute game.

Enjoy.

Very educational game
My daughter loves this game, not only does it teach her the song, but it teaches her colors too. She has to match the people holders to the right bus stop. She is also learning the parts of the bus. ... Read more

Great completely pointless fun
I think this is a great toy.
No batteries!
No little parts to lose!
Holds up well under abuse (finally bit the dust after 2 years, including 3 months at my daughter's preschool).

I bought this when my daughter was 2. Maybe she liked it because I thought it was so funny (but I'm pretty easily amused). It's great! You should get one!

Great toddler fun!
We bought this toy for our 2 1/2 year old son and we all just love it. Granted it has absolutely no educational value it is fun, simple and something your toddler can easily use on their own if mommy and daddy need a well deserved break ;)

Good Game
I thought this game was a good choice for toddlers. My 3 year old and 18 month old both love it. From a parent of toddlers' perspective, it's great because there are no loose pieces and it requires no batteries. There's not much for educational value, but it's fast and fun.

Priceless Family Fun
While others disagree, I found this game a great family game. I have 3 children ranging from 1 1/2 to 5 1/2 years. For Christmas my 3 year old received this game and I wouldn't give up his face as the crocodile "pretended" to chomp him for anything. The whole family can play it. The instructions are so basic that we played it with all the relatives in a circle at Christmas. It helps the kids overcome their anxiousness about pressing a tooth and is extra durable...Why? Because my 1 year old carries it around with him and plays with it all the time. It is our family favorite. My kids play it over and over.

fun for a kid
I agree with the other reviews of this game, it is very simple not much too it. But to a 4 year old sometimes a simple game can be fun, I think it is over priced for what you get. My 2 and 4 year olds have had a lot of fun with this game. ... Read more

Plastic not as nice as the old wooden pieces......
Having grown up on Parcheesi with the nice wooden "pawns", the individual dice cups, and four separate sets of dice (one for each player)... this new updated version by Milton Bradley (not the original manufacturers)is a bit disappointing. The pawns are now all shaped like animals and they're cheezy and plastic. The board is smaller, although a bit more interesting. There are no dice rolling cups anymore, which was a big attraction because each player had his/her own set of dice for rolling. The instructions are more complex and can be difficult to interpret. Not every game has to be Monopoly! Some things were better left the way they were. I'm currently bidding on the original version in great condition at eBay. They have plenty of "classic" editions for less than the new cheap set!

Disappointment for adults
Hasbro is missing the boat by not offering BOTH an adult, original version AND the newer children's version. As adults, we love to still play this terrific game, but I will not play it with a child's mindset and little animals. My grown daughter has been wanting one for herself, so I had decided to get her one for her birthday. I guess I'll try to find an original set through EBay instead. Hope you pass this review on to the manufacturer.

Our favorite game. Like SORRY!, but better!
We LOVE this game. It's like a strategic version of SORRY!, played with dice rather than cards. Use your pawns to form blockades that your opponenents can't pass, to land on safety spaces and wait to ambush your opponent, etc. The premise is just like SORRY! (get four pawns home), but incorporates flexibility, strategy, and bonuses that SORRY! lacks. It's good for kids' math skills, too. Our 12-year-old nephew wants his own for Xmas. We bought this game only knowing that it was a classic--nothing more. The game board and pieces are very attractive. The pawns are tigers, elephants, camels, and water buffalo. Wooden dice are a nice touch. We learned this game by studying the rules.

Parchessi Par Cheesy? No. Fun
I allowed my daughter to pick one thing for us to buy at Toys 'R' Us and when I came upon this I read it finding it interesting. I showed it to her and she agreed. I was never interested in Parcheesi before but this redesign makes it visually appealing and the game was definitely fun!

Great facelift to a classic game.
What a great version of one of the oldest "race" games. Parcheesi requires a lot more strategy than a casual glance would indicate. Which piece to move, to enter a piece or move one already out, to go home for the bonus or wait, to hit an opponent for the bonus or not . . . there is a lot to think about. The board is beautiful, and the pieces (tiger, buffalo, elephant and camel) are stylishly designed.

It is not only fun, it's unpredictable. A player can come from behind and win before you know it. Never boring. In terms of educaton, it teaches counting, strategy, and decision making. There is also a brief paragraph on the inside of the box describing the Indian cultural relevance of each of the animals. The mounted board is average in terms of durability, and the pieces are plastic. The wood dice are a nice touch.

Note: It is not a "Classic Parcheesi board game", which implies it is the classic or traditional version. This is a cosmetic update to "Parcheesi, the Classic Game of India". If you are looking for the traditional version with pawns, that is still available as well. ... Read more

Better than the Original
I bought Disney Sorry for my son last Christmas. He was 6 at the time. It was a big hit as he is a big Disney fan. I grew up playing the orginal Sorry, and enjoy this version much more. It's the same game, but the Disney Characters make it more fun for some reason. We are still playing with it a year later and it is in good condition.

Great Game!
I would recommend this game to any one that likes the orignal Sorry game. A few tips though, to make the characters stay on thier stands I would recommend a drop of glue, and play it on a smooth sturdy surfaces as the game pieces can be tippy.

Worth your valuable time...
I've never been a big fan of the game "Sorry!" I found it a little boring... maybe it's because I had my own copy of "Trouble" and "Sorry!" seemed like a scaled-down version. (Not really sure, to be honest...) Disney, however, actually made the game fun for me. I'm a 32-year-old Dad and my daughter is 6. She loves it and I really don't mind playing it with her two or three times in a row.

Disney has taken the original rules and developed some special cards that benefit each color. First let me explain a bit about the game itself...
The Blue character plays "The Heroes" -- Buzz Lightyear, Tarzan, Peter Pan, and Hercules.
The Red character is "The Villains" (usually ME) -- Cruella, Hook, Hades, and Malificent.
Yellow, "The Princesses" (usually my daughter) -- Snow White, Cinderella, Ariel, and Toy Story's Jessie (!?!? - even my 6-year old knows -- "Jesse isn't a PRINCESS!")
Green, "Animal Stars" -- Pooh, Dumbo, young Simba, and Bambi
The board looks great, the artwork is fun, and it's all very Disney-esque.

Special cards -- there are certain cards, when you draw them, that allow you to do special things IF you happen to be the matching color on the card. If you are blue and draw a blue three, you have the option of drawing the next three cards and picking the one you want to use. If you draw a green eight and you are green, you have the option of moving TWO characters 8 spaces. A matching 12 in your color will send one of your tokens (the one furthest along) HOME safe. There are more, but hopefully you get the idea.

My daughter is 6, but seems able to grasp all the rules and has great fun teaching her friends to play. As far as the cardboard characters coming of the bases is concerned, we haven't really had that problem. I'm not sure why - maybe we just push them into the bases harder than some of the other folks here that have posted reviews.

Anyway, my advice: a great game for parents to play with the kids. Just remember, you don't HAVE to TRY and win! :)

Fun
My daughter loves the characters so it was nice to get a Disney Sorry game. However, the playing pieces are the type of cardboard that fit into the plastic slots. :P The characters would come out of the plastic parts every time we moved them. I finally put a small piece of tape at the bottom to make sure it would stay put.

Interesting Twist
I love Disney. I love the game "Sorry!". So I figured if they combined these two, it would be a great game! I received it for Christmas and as soon as I got it, opened the box and started setting up the game.

It is very similar to the classic "Sorry!" but with a harder to interpret board (very nice graphic use, but harder on the eyes than the standard), harder to move pieces (they are very large and the stands fall off of the cardboard bases very easily) and of course, variations on characters and cards.

I love the characters and how they seperated them (Heros, Villains, Girls, Animals) and the overall concept idea of the board and pieces is wonderful, but as cute as it is to look at, I would much rather play the original game, with a simple design that keeps the game fun and easy :)

The coolest additional feature to the game would be extra "actions" on the cards, such as: If you are a green character, you can move your leading piece to Home or move forward 8 spaces. (May not be exact phrasing on cards, but you catch my drift). It makes it interesting because you never know if you get a special bonus :)

All-in-all, I give this game 3 1/2 stars - At least 3 because it's "Sorry!", which is one of my all-time favorite board games; and also because it's Disney! However, functionality and durability leave something to be desired.. ... Read more
