3-0 out of 5 stars A little difficult and not much to hold your interest
I remember having an ants in the pants toy when I was young so when I saw this SpongeBob version I thought my 4 year old would love it since she loves everything Spongebob.

It was way to difficult for her to be able to get the ants to fly. But even my 6, 7 and 9 year old had trouble with it. They are usually very easy to please and enjoy most games and toys. But they found this to be a little difficult and just not enough to keep them interested for more than about 3 or 4 minutes. Now these kids are not the type that get bored easily or are hard to please but this one didn't do it for them at all. ... Read more

VIDEONOW Jr. is the first full-color, personal video player designed specifically for preschoolers. And while the player itself is very impressive, with oversized buttons that make it easy for little hands to operate and rubberized bumpers designed to withstand the day-to-day bumps and rough handling that only preschoolers can dish out, the best thing about this portable media player is the wide variety of high-quality programming you can purchase for theplayer in the form of the VIDEONOW Jr.personal video discs. Featuring some of the most highly regarded early learning programming on TV, including Dora the Explorer, Blue's Clues, The Wiggles, Barney, and Sesame Street, all of the personal video discs for the VIDEONOW Jr. player are designed to educate while they entertain. This personal disc contains scenes from the popular TV show Clifford the Big Red Dog. Designed exclusively for VIDEONOW JR. or VIDEONOW COLOR Players, all VIDEONOW Jr. personal video discs are interchangeable. ... Read more

Does he have a pair--or is he faking? Yes! No? What should I do?! Be right, be fast--but don't be last, or you'll end up the loser in Hands Down, Hasbro's "game of slap-happy fun." It's the perfect choice for energetic, competitive 6-to-12-year-olds who love to tease. There's not a lot of strategy involved here--it's something like an energized version of "Go Fish": players draw and combine cards to make a pair, and then--wham!--it's all hands down on the Slam-O-Matic unit (a groovy plastic playing surface sporting four spring-loaded "hands"). Last one down forfeits a card! Hands Down is a hilarious icebreaker as well as a fistful of fun. No batteries necessary. Hands Down can be played by three or four players.--Julie Ubben ... Read more

Good family game night game!!!
We bought this for our 8 year old son and he LOVES it! Very fun and the game goes fast! Great for the family game night!

4-0 out of 5 stars fun when I was young--fun now with my children

Excellent description of memory leaks in Swing
Several Barrels of Monkeys, a few dozen rubber bands and some hair wraps make a useful tangible demonstration of memory leaks in Java's Swing.

Less fun than a Barrel of Red Monkeys
This game is not entertaining at all. Why would they put the monkeys in a blue barrel? It takes away from all the fun. If you want a good time, try the yellow or red barrel. I, for one, will be returning my "blue" barrel in favor of the superior "red" model. ... Read more

Editorial Review

Sometimes it takes some radical re-engineering to breathe new life into a classic board game. In this, the latest incarnation of the old favorite "Sorry", the traditional board has been scrapped, replaced by smaller individual boards given to individual players. But the star of the show is, improbably, a simple red pawn game piece, blown up to enormous proportions and imbued with the power of speech. Players draw game cards from a deck beneath said pawn who offers sassy commentary on the proceedings. It was a touch disorienting for those of us raised on the traditional game but the process of learning to play an old game in a new way offered plenty of challenges and fun. --Charlie Williams ... The luck of the draw and a steady hand--these are the keys to success in this Spanish version of the classic board game Operation. The raised game board itself is exactly the same as the English version, featuring the same hapless patient with the bulging red nose that lights up when a player slips and touches the metal sides around each game piece with the "surgical" tweezers. Along with a stack of play money, the game comes with a deck of game cards that determine what surgical procedure each player will have to perform. All of the game's body parts and ailments are labeled in Spanish, including Aguas con la rodilla (water on the knee) and Corazón herido (broken heart). The game's instruction booklet is also printed in Spanish only, so at least one player will have to be well-versed in the language in order to read through the game rules. Requires two D batteries (not included). --Chris Burns ... Read more

Great for Nemo fans, but better for older kids
I bought this for my almost-3 year old daughter b/c she loves 'finding nemo'. The way we play memory with her is we take out about 10-12 cards and play a game with those, as obviously playing with all the cards would make the game too difficult and not enjoyable. But my main complaint about this particular version is that a lot of the cards look very similar but are subtley different. For instance, there are about 4 different variations of a Nemo card. So I would recommend this set to a slightly older child and pick a simpler set, where all of the cards are markedly different (like the Disney themed set, which we also have) for the 3 year old crowd. Otherwise, my daughter loves it as all children this age seem to love playing Memory. ... Read more

Girl Talk Never Disappoints - It's A Hoot!
I bought Girl Talk years ago for a niece. She loves it so much she is keeping her original as a keepsake. I recently needed another gift for a 10 year old girl. I bought Girl Talk which was played at a sleepover for her birthday. The kids had a blast. Her mom thanked me because she didn't have to find things for them to do. They played until midnight then fell asleep. Girl Talk is a game that makes it easy for everyone to participate at their own comfort level. It's a good way to help shy girls feel more comfortable in a group. A+

Girl Talk ...Ah.. the memories!
This game is a must for teen and pre-teen girls! This game has been around a long time and the fun just increases with age. The questions and challanges are up to date and will keep you laughing and entertained for hours. I played it with my daughter and I don't know who laughed the hardest? Girl Talk is a great slumber party game.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fun for years!
I'm 24 years old, and I'm so happy to find they still make this game! I remember playing it many times with one of my best friends when I was in elementary and junior high school. Girl Talk was so much fun! I would recommend any parent getting his or her girl this game to play during slumber parties. It's a great tool to get to know friends and to pull people out of their shells.

5-0 out of 5 stars It was a blast!
We played this game at my friends sleepover. But, with this game...we didn't collect much sleep! We had soo much fun telling secrets and doing cray dares! Any teen girl would love to own this game!

5-0 out of 5 stars Washington State shopper
My friends and love the game! We learned so much about each other! It is so great and a blast to play! With so many different questions, it is different every time you play! Fans of Pictionary, Cranium, Rigamarole, and the like will love this hilarious and challenging variation on the classic Charades theme. Cluegivers "express" themselves by speaking, acting, or drawing clues to selected words, while Guessers try to guess the word within 10 seconds. Tiny, occasionally wishy-washy talking hosts direct the activity from within the electronic game (well, okay, they're not really inside the game, but that's where the voices come from!). Teams of two are set up randomly and change constantly throughout the game, as does the clue-giving method. After each player "signs in" to the game by selecting a chip and responding to the hosts' query, a Cluegiver is selected by the hosts. This player selects a card and lowers it into a slot in the game unit. The hosts pull the card into the game, "read" the word, then send the card back out, telling the Cluegiver how (and to whom) to give clues. Beyond this fun electronic twist, the action proceeds more or less along the same lines as the above games. You can't really go wrong with this formula, though, can you? Love it
The age group on this game says adult but after skimming through the cards, I found no reason that my children could not play. It is rather corny but it's perfect for kids. It's a great family game night for adults and kids to play together. I think it's good for adults only too, after a view drinks that is!

cool
neveragain will i have to buy catch phrase, charades,& pictionary but now i have all 3in 1.This game has great humor that is appropreate for my childs school. i give it 2 thumbs up

Great for Jr. High Kids
Not what we were looking for. We wanted a party game for older 20's and thirty somethings. I would say this game would be good for Jr. High. The "hosts" inside the box are super annoying and cheesy. The cards were really pretty easy compared to some of the other games we played. My sister got this game as a gift, we tried it once and she decided to return it. Like I said, I can see jr. high kids maybe getting into this, but otherwise, it was pretty lame.

Good Game
I bought this game because my friend had recommended it to me, and it sounded fun. It is a mix of pictionary and charades. You take a random card, pick one of the two words on the card, and then pop it into the machine. Then the "hosts" inside the machine will either tell you to Draw what's on the card, Act it, or Speak about it. Sometimes, they will tell you to flip the card around and do the other word(which I hate).

The machine selects the person to act/speak/draw the word, and then selects another person to try to guess what that person is doing. If he gets it right, they both get 5 points. If he can't guess, the machine chooses another person to guess. If that person gets it right, they both get 3 points. If THAT person can't get the answer, one more person is chosen to guess. If he gets it right, both people will a whopping one point. The timer is kind of fast, giving you only ten seconds to talk/act/draw your object.

The point of the game is to get as many points as possible at the end of the game(which is determined by the machine and the number of people playing - maximum 6 people)

I gave the durability a three because you have to replace the batteries in the machine often. ... Read more

Winnie the Pooh is hunting for his friends, all of whom are hiding in honeypots, in this motorized musical memory game designed for preschoolers. To begin, placea character in each pot. Then tap Pooh's head and the characters will peek out, one byone, from beneath their lids while the Winnie the Pooh theme music plays. Everyonewatches and tries to memorize where each character is hiding. When the music stops, thefirst player flips over a character card to determine which of Pooh's friends they mustfind. If that player remembers correctly and lifts the right lid, they get to keep the card. The first player to collect all six cards wins. Watch out for the honeybee hiding in theseventh pot--lift its lid and you lose your turn. The game suits two to four players andrequires three AA batteries (not included). --Elisabeth Fredrickson ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Very cute But.....
There was alot of work to make this look very good. Unfortunately the game seems forced and the same game can be played with a deck of cards. It is a very cute toy, but the game is lacking.

1-0 out of 5 stars A total waste of money!
If I could give this toy "zero" stars, I would do so! The wretched thing is so poorly made that it loses its educational value completely. The players are supposed to watch the Pooh characters pop up briefly and then retreat, supposedly unseen, into their hiding place. Then, to score points, you have to remember where each character is. However, the part fits so poorly that you can see the character's head at all times. Even a 3 year old can readily identify the character without effort and certainly without learning anything.

Also, the entire concept is flawed because, if the parts did fit together propertly, the characters pop up so briefly that any child would find it a bit frustrating.

Overall, there are many, many better memory games that you can buy. Do not waste your money on this one!

5-0 out of 5 stars Fun and keeps her attention!
My 3 year old niece loves this game! She enjoys playing it everyday (but she doesn't use the matching cards with it just yet). It keeps her attention and she can play it by herself too. There are several small, mouthsize pieces, but overall, older children will like the colors, characters, and sounds of this fun game!

5-0 out of 5 stars Kids love the music with the pooh hide n seek game
The kids like the toy a lot. The only problem is that the lids separate from the characters frequently...this can be quite frustrating for the kids and adults.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Learning Tool!
My 2.5 year old son's teacher uses this toy as a learning tool, and my son loves it. She lays out all the cards with the characters on them and tells him to take each character out of the toy and place it on the appropriate card. He is definately learning his matching skills using this toy. It is very cute, and definately reccomend it for fun or for learning! ... Read more

Go with the "Original" memory game
This is a cute idea, but frankly the pictures are far too similar for a pre-schooler just starting out. Go with the original Memory game and call it a day.

Box of Cards
This isn't a game as much as a box of picture cards. There are way too many of them to play a match game with younger children and the picture are too small and many are too similar. I had this game through three children and all we did was sort picture cards by character.

Well loved game for my girls
My older daughter received this game when she was 2 1/2. She played it all the time. Now she is 7 and her younger sister is 5 1/2. This was their favorite game, out of our whole closet full, until about a year ago. I can't even begin to count how many times we played it.They loved the matching version , but then they created their own sorting game too. Also used it as money when they played store. Although they stopped playing with it, they won't get rid of it. It is pretty durable as long as you keep it out of babies and puppies mouths.

change it up
I play this game with my 3 year-old;every time we play, we change the rules. Because there are so many cards, we'll play with just the pooh cards one game, & then we'll match any piglet to any other piglet, & then we'll match any character with a bug in it, etc. This helps her differentiate between different classifications...and she makes the rules so it allows her independence and a role in her own learning. boring for me, but it's not about me!!

2-0 out of 5 stars I miss the old memory games...
Unfortunately, the cards aren't as durable as the memory games of old. And holy man, there are a ton of cards! I'm sure that is great with smaller kids, but once they get mixed up, try to sort out a few for your young toddler just learning matching!

The problem I found was that it has too many cards for smaller children, and bigger kids aren't as interested. So this one will be put on the shelf for a while, hopefully won't spill, and will be taken out at just the right moment to hold my daughter's interest (Yeah right???) ... Read more
