It says clearly in the booklet that you hook up your CD Player; which even includes the link cable
( Hmmmmm...how could that previous poster not have figured that out) LOLOLOL!

Anyway....it is one of the products from the
Barbie Company that I actually give five stars to.
I bought it for my Kids and they love it! Moms if your daughter is a Deva wanna be well...This is a great buy. Hint....wait until Christmas to save. I bought mine at Target during the Holiday Sales after Thanksgiving (...) This item is a must for slumber parties for your daughters. Five stars from this product reviewer.

A GREAT BIRTHDAY GIFT
I bought this Karaoke VIDEO MAKER for my 5 yr old. She loves it!! Im glad that I didn't use the 1st review as a reference because if they had of read the name of the machine closer, NOWHERE in the title does it say CD Karaoke. Its a video/karaoke maker for young kids. Also, just because it is pink, doesn't make it Barbie, which it isn't. Its a great video/karaoke playing machine for young kids that works great & is easy to hook up. They can do it themselves & spend hours just dancing & singing along. Im real glad I bought this for my daughter.

NOT a CD player
I just received this and am sending it back unopened. First of all it is Barbie, although I didn't notice that on the site. But more importantly it doesn't play CD's. It just uses little Barbie specific music cartridges. Most Karaoke machines do both and I guess I just assumed that this was the same. If you want to listen to the same 8 songs forever that may be OK, but it isn't what we were looking for.

Serious Toy buyer
I have a seven year old ( very active ) daughter who is extremely energetic. She loves to dance and see herself in the mirror and pretend she's a singer. This is the best $80.00, I have spent so far, This music video maker is perfect to sing along with, dance and to make your own at home videos. Somewhat disappointed
We bought this for our 4 year old daughter for christmas. It says it is for 3 years and up. Our 4 year old is quite advanced for her age so I though she would have no problem using it. The songs on tape that come with it are for much older kids. Some of the songs I have never even heard of. She isn't old enough to read so she can't read the words off the printed pages so she can't learn the words to the songs. It is very difficult to hear the music even with the volume all of the way up. She mostly just uses the blank tape to tape herself singing "twinkle twinkle" and "Itsy bitsy spider". The head set microphone that comes with it is difficult to use as it doesn't fit the four year olds head nor does it fit my head. Not worth the money in my opinion.

Piece of crap
The headset does not fit right. i had 2 put it on upsidedown then i got it. then it makes your voice sound way different then it really does. this toy is not made 4 a 3 yr old! like a 3 year old can really read the words?

Barbie not worth it's price
This machine lasted less than a day with our 5 year old twins. The head set wouldn't fit either them or me, the songs weren't anything that they knew, and the sound was horrible. It was a gift that has allready been returned to the store. The concept of a Barbie Karaoke machine is wonderful, just this product leaves alot to be desired.

Great fun even after 1 1/2 years of play!
I bought this for my daughter in the summer of 2002(she was 5)and she still plays with it often. It has travelled everywhere with us and she even takes it to her babysitter's house. All her friends still play with it whenever they come over,too. The other night, she made up a cute song about her friend that was playing over at the house. Her friend was the background singer and she pretended to be talking on the phone. This toy is great for them. I will admit, for the little ones, they probably won't be able to read the lyric sheets but, the music was mostly top 40 hits from the year this toy came out so, my daughter already knew them well. Also, I don't like having to replace the batteries but, if you remind them to turn it off and unplug the microphone when not in use, the batteries will last longer. If you have a little one that loves to perform, this is perfect. It is durable(my daughter can break just about anything but, this has survived).

Just "okay"
My 3 year old daughter received it for her Birthday. She really liked it at first. However, it really needs an AC adapter. It is ridiculous that a Radio would come without a power cord. I refuse to replace the batteries every week, so it has not been touched in months. ... Read more

Ekara music in English not available
We bought this toy in Japan and unfortunately got only one Cartridge with it containing only Japanese songs. Hence it is useless to us unless we can find songs in English from the Beatles, Elton John or even the current pop songs etc. However these are not available on your site. Please advise if you can

didn't work
This crap didn't work. I plug it in my tv and didn't even turn on. What a waste of money. (...) It looks great but really is bad.

Fun for the money!
I purchashed 2 of these before Christmas because the clearance price was so low. My children are too young to read so we found ourselves playing with it. The headset is definitly designed with a child's head in mind and is terribly uncomfortable but the sound is impressive (which could vary depending on the quality of your television).

Our only big problem was the difficulty finding the special tapes that work with the system. They are essentially gone everywhere and I found myself buying them on E-bay at a bigger price than I paid for the whole unit. The 2 tapes that came with the unit are teenie bopper music only so we bought a Beatles tape that is great!

Good luck finding tapes..and if you have a preteen or teenager, they will love the music that comes with it.

Songs Way too old for 6 year olds/doesn't work on all tv/vcr
I have been trying to find a cartridge for my six year old that is age appropriate without all the sex and familiar songs to her like The wheels on the bus or The itsy bitsy spider or other childhood faviorites, but I have not found any. The toy would be great for a teenager but not for the younger children. Also I found it difficult to set up because not all of my tv/vcr's offer input/aux and therefore the product doesn't work.

This would be an excellent product if it included some decent age appropriate music for the 6 to 13 age bracket. Many songs were sexually explicit and we were unable to use the cartridges. Folk songs, patriotic songs and Christian music would be wonderful. We are very disappointed with the lack of availability of good music for the children. A sad expensive disappointment. ... It's CHEETAHLICIOUS
I GOT THIS YESTERDAY it's so fun to sing the songs the only songs I don't like is COM'ON and end of the line some of the songs are short but it's cool. I just foung out that the NEW cheetah girls soundtrack will have Kareokee (Sorry about the spelling) but I don't think it will be CD+G so buy the and also buy The LIZZIE MCGUIRE CD+G. AND ..... (I'M GOING to SING so I can't continue) Throw your hands up if...GIRL POWER GIRL POWER

I just bought this for my kids and it is just great! The music sounds just like the record and the girl on the recording sounds great! (I have heard many Karaoke CD's and they are always pretty bad!!)

Perfect for Little Girls
I ordered this Karaoke CD for my 9 year old daughter. She
loves singing the songs from some of her favorite Disney movies.
This is the perfect CD for any little girl who loves to sing, and perfect for any Mom who is sick of hearing the same old Karaoke CD's with Britney Spears "Oops I did it Again".
When I ordered the CD I took a chance because there was no information on the song selection. It's perfect for both my 9yr old and my 3yr old who also loves to sing along with her big sister.
The CD selection are; 1-Just Around the Riverbend 2-Part of Your World 3-Beauty and the Beast 4-Colors of the Wind 5-Reflection 6-He's a Tramp 7-A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes 8-Part of the Heart of the Sky. The first 8 songs are the instrumental versions followed by 8 vocal versions of the same songs.

My daughter will not use the CD. It's pretty boring for a 6 year old. It's pretty poor choice of music. Maybe it will work out better for older girls?! ... Read more

11 year old oldies LOVER
Do you want a good CD? Then get it. sure I listen to NSYNC & brittney spears but my Mom & Dad (now thats a differnt story) so I've grown up with theese songs in my life, so for my birthday my sister's boyfriend got me this CD. I LOVE IT.....

Party Tyme uses fake music
This brand uses synthesizers and drum machines instead of real guitars, horns, etc. Pretty bad stuff. I am a singer, not affiliated with any Karaoke vendor. I'm always looking for unique songs, and I demand good quality.

GREAT for Young Kids!
I have 4 children ages 11 and under and this is GREAT for young children! The music is played in a familiar format and easy for kids to sing along with---even adults can have fun with it! I highly recommend this for families with young kids. The melody is very present for kids to hear it and the songs are very common ones. A GREAT PURCHASE FOR OUR FAMILY!!

kids songs
although i am 16 i am still obsessed with kids song and i know i may be crazy but i am and this album is great because it has all the basic kids song on it and it is great for a feel good album so im recomending it to all those people who like kids songs or all those people who have kids and are aranging a party. A birthday party maybe? all i can say is its great!!!

this cd sucks.
I bought this cd for my karaoke party. I immediatly returned it after finding my children singing the 'thong song' to their grandparents. That song has the 'n' word in it! I will never buy from this company again. I find them racist.

Not for kids
This CD has several of the popular kid songs, which is why I bought it for my 10 year old. It also has a couple of songs that are not appropriate for kids including "Thong Song" which contains the "N" word.

Good, but not as good as Sound Choice
Sybersound scores big with this, the second volume on the hot hits series from Party Tyme. Not many errors were found on this CD, and the background vocals do the song recreations justice.

However, this CDG also tells us that Sybersound has some more ground to cover before it can join karaoke giant Sound Choice, who has mastered the karaoke CDG market, at the top of the pack. The music found are not recreated with as much precision and as much perfection as SC has had, and sometimes, background vocals don't show up where they should ("Higher" is a prime example in this). Sybersound's only two advatages over Sound Choice is that they are easier to be found, and they are cheaper to buy than SC's CD-G's are.

Flaws notwithstanding, this is a cheap way to get some fun, and possibly learn how to sing. Just don't expect this to be found in a major karaoke bar anytime soon.

Pretty good teen music
I must rate the Party Tyme series much lower, however. It appears that synthsizers and drum machines work pretty good for the teen music, but not the songs that count on real guitar. I WILL say that their country music Karaoke CDs seem to have more real guitar than the pop, oldies, etc.

Lots of Current Pop Songs - A Great Value
My kids just received a Karaoke machine as a gift so I got them this as their first CDG. I just wanted to get them something with some current songs. Clearly, it was hit. They knew all the songs had a great time with this. The lead vocals are not recorded on the songs as this is not a multiplex CDG. However, their are background / chorus vocals. This is a great Karaoke CDG if you want a variety of current pop songs. Plus, it is a great value since it contains quite a few songs compared to some other CDG's out there. ... Read more
