Chicago White Sox All-Star Outfielder Magglio Ordonez
I do not think of Magglio Ordonez the right fielder of the White Sox as a premier base runner, but you have to admit this is a different sort of pose to use for a McFarlane Toys action figure. This 6" MLB Series 9 figure is clearly running the bases as opposed to being in a home run trot. You can decide if he is rounding second or third, but the cut is too sharp to be off of first base. The key detail on this figure is probably the batting glove flopping out of Ordonez's back pocket, though I sort of like the way his batting helmet is pulled down low.

Magglio Ordonez has been named to the American League Al-Star team four times to date. Currently his lifetime batting average is .308 having had a career season (to date) in 2002 when he had personal highs in all of the Triple Crown categories: 38 homer runs, 135 RBIs, and a .320 average. A line drive hitter who sends a lot of balls into the gaps, Ordonez has totaled 70-plus extra-base hits for the past three seasons (with 69 and 67 totals the previous two years), and was only one home run short of making it to 30 dingers and 100 RBI's for the fifth season in a row last season. Ordonez is at least a decent base runner, who did have 25 steals in 32 tries in 2001, so the idea of him being out there on the base paths is not totally strange, just somewhat different.

It would be ironic if White Sox fans finally get an action figure of their start during what could prove to be his last season. Ordonez's salary jumped from $9 million to $14 million this year, the final one in his current contract, and the White Sox have not been talking about a contract extension because of the franchise's financial limitations. Even though Ordonez is a popular, homegrown star for the White Sox, if the team is not in the race late in the season he could get traded before he becomes a free agent. ... Read more

good but not good enough
this figure is a real nice figure for all u canucks fan out there ... GO CANUCKS GO... im from vancouver so canucks is a big deal everywhere.. including from the smallest items to the biggest. this is the black jersey which is hot here but the white is the hottest for this figure ive seen ppl fighting over the white jersey so when ever u can pick it up i advice u... at a mall last time someone bought it for 22.99 cdn and at his store he sold it as 69.00 dollars cdn. so well hope this help u in anyways thanks... ... Very detailed for such a small figure, I bought this in a clearance bin where it had been thrown around and actually dropped. No part of the toy broke or was even scratched. While not as cool as Nightmare, consider Necrid the next step in what Nightmare could look like. Lack of weapon is kind of annoying though, but still, its cool. ... Read more

Todd Helton, Rockies slugging first baseman, in the field
The first thing that strikes you about this figure of Todd Helton of the Colorado Rockies is that he is playing first base. After all, we are talking about one of the slugging stars of the National League, who averages 36 home runs, 122 RBIs, and a .337 batting average over a 162-game season. But then because he plays half his games in Colorado's mile high stadium Helton gets less respect than if he was putting together these stats at sea level. In 2000 Helton lead the league with a .372 batting average, 216 hits, 59 doubles, 103 extra base hits, 405 total bases, and 147 RBIs, and only managed to finish 5th in the M.V.P. voting. At least Helton's salary is now in the 8 figure level.

This 6" MLB Series 9 Figure from McFarlane Toys shows Helton with his "Blue" Colorado Rockies home jersey with white pinstripe pants (the "blue" sure looks purple to me), getting read to receive a low throw at first place (it had better be a throw coming in low, because otherwise he is giving a lousy target, which is why the "educational value" of this figure has to be reduced). There is some limited articulation to the figure with the head and arms. With the McFarlane figures there is always some nice little detail and on this one it would have to be the batting glove stuffed into Helton's back pocket.

This figure is also available with the "Blue" Colorado Rockies jersey and gray pinstripe pants. The other figures in the MLB Series 9 are pitcher Mariano Rivera of the New York Yankees, pitcher Dontrelle Willis of the World Champion Florida Marlins, shortstop Nomar Garciaparra of the Boston Red Sox, right fielder Magglio Ordonez of the Chicago White Sox, and perennial Gold Glove winning Andruw Jones of the Atlanta Braves. exellent for your collection
fortune for metal gear solid 2 is a great figure.if you are in to metal gear it would be a good part of your collection.i would like to get the complete series but amazon doesn't carry the others at this time.but overall fortune is a cool figure and it's part of the metal gear series.great toy for collectors or toy lovers alike.

Ther fortune figure is mostly for display not play. This is because it isn't well poseable. You should buy it though because it comes with a valuable piece to metal gear ray. Without fortune you wont get the bonus 7th figure. In conclusion..........BUY FORTUNE!

A very attractive figure
Fortune is a good figure. She has a very attractive outift equipped with very attractive...er...sunglasses. The figure is fairly easy to pose, but she cant go into complex poses like the Olga figure can. She comes with a pistol and a very cool gun.
I had a little difficulty fitting the guns and such into her hands, but they fit fairly well. The figure is very good at standing up.
Overall, a solid buy

The bad:
figure cannot go into very many poses

the ugly:
The sunglasses dont fit on very well, and get get very easily lost.
