This small and very simple birdhouse makes a satisfyingwoodworking project, and requires just a hammer and a Phillips-headscrewdriver to complete. Seven precut and predrilled pieces of wood areincluded, as are all the screws and nails you'll need. No decoratingsupplies are included, but suggestions for painting, staining, orvarnishing are included with the assembly instructions. --RichardFarr ... Read more

Thi kit is great!
I bought this for my 5-year old. She needed help putting it together, but she painted it by herslef and had a great time. These kits are reasonably priced, too. I hope they come out with more.

A real birdhouse
My son built the kit himself with little help after receiving it as a gift. He painted it as well, a great way to use up left over house paint.

That was three years ago and we have had birds nest in it each spring since! This year we plan to buy the kits so the kids can assemble and paint them as gifts for grandparents.

So easy, a kid can do it!
I bought this for my daughter, who wanted to try her hand at building a bird-feeder, yet the cast-iron-frying-pan-weilding-wife didn't want her baby near power tools (read: saws). Hey, with this kit you CAN NOT go wrong. My 11 year-old daughter tore into this with a passion.

The only time she ran into problems was when she didn't follow the directions. Other than 30 seconds of guidance from me, she *really* did do it all by herself. And don't think THAT fact was lost on her. It was so easy to do (and so low-risk, Mom!) that we would not hesitate to recommend this to any other parent, nor will we fail to buy her the other kits in this series, as long as they match the quality of this bird feeder.

All in all, this is one of the all-too-rare toys on the market - it works as advertised, is a blast for the kids, and gives value way beyond its very reasonable price.

A nice project for Parent & Child to do Together!
A functional, simple birdhouse. I was looking for a project to show my five year old some simple use of hand tools - (hammer, screwdriver, etc) This and the other HD Project Kits are perfect!!! One thing that was important was that the project give my son a feeling of accomplishment and a "I Can Do It!" attitude. I feel that building things with your hands is a big part of developing a feeling of self reliance for a child. These kits provide that AND a bit of self expression letting the child paint or otherwise decorate it!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great, well made kit...
I wasn't expecting such a strong and sturdy little kit but then again, it is Home Depot. The kit is well thought out, easy to assemble and a great afternoon project for any kid that has some basic tool skills (with supervision of course). It's more of a decorative bird house that full blown out door bird house but once it's done and painted up it makes for a great yard decoration. ... Read more

Precut wood, a plastic window, screws, nails, and easy-to-follow instructions let you breeze through construction and knock yourself out on décor with this bird feeder kit from Home Depot. All you need is a hammer and a Phillips head screwdriver to get started. The feeder fills from the top and spills food to the ledge as needed. The window allows you a view of the feeder's contents. Paint it, varnish it, sticker it, or do whatever you think says "Eat here!"to the birds of your locale. --Ava Natov ... Read more

Great parent-child project!
We gave this to our (then 7 year old) nephew. He put it together with parental supervision. And it still is *his* feeder, hanging from their house and feeding the birds in the backyard. It was a great introduction to home improvement. In the case of our nephew, he has grown to be quite a helper for his father's frequent projects and will no doubt become quite handy himself.

PROS
* Simple for an adult, challenging (but not overly so) for a child
* All of the *sturdy* parts included
* Unfinished: can be painted or stained. Let the kids paint it however they want! The birds won't know.

CONS
I ONLY WISH HOME DEPOT PUT OUT MORE OF THESE TYPES OF KITS! There are just two others that I've seen--a small greenhouse/planter kit and a message board.

PURCHASING RECOMMENDATION
In my opinion, kids just don't get enough building experiences with creating something like this that truly is useful. We buy things ready-made, or we call a contractor to do it for us. THIS IS A GREAT PARENT-CHILD PROJECT. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. And let's don't forget the girls--they can do this, too.

We love our "squirrel feeder"
We bought this for our then, 4 yr. old. He and his daddy had a wonderful time building this together and painting it. Everything you need is included. We did attract some birds, but the squirrels wouldn't let them anywhere near the feeder. It was hilarious watching them hanging upside down and swinging on it. They figured out quickly how to open and empty it. Oh well, it was well worth it because the time and enjoyment building it. That is what really makes this item great.

The totally cool bird feeder
My 7 1/2yr old daughter liked this a lot. And her 5 1/2yr old brother thought "it ruled." I think they liked it. My husband and I supervised, I started the nails for my son, and otherwise, they did it themselves. The instructions were easy to follow (even the pictures for my son!) and we were done in no time. Santa brought each of them this and the 10 piece tool set, and it was a great rainy afternoon project (late afternoon on New Years Day!) We'll be looking for more!

A New Hobby
My grandson loved putting this birdhouse together. Now, he and his three siblings are learning how to feed the birds in the winter and they can watch them out the window.

Another Nice Simple Project for Youngsters!

This project provided a chance to show my son how to improve and improvise beyond a simple set of instructions. As mentioned, because the opening has nothing to hold the seeds in, alot falls on the ground. We thought out, measured and fabricated a larger bottom and added it to the kit to fix the short coming!! The return of Gundam Wing
Well, there's probably a good number of people who know what gundam is and what gundam models are. There seems to be a new demand for Gundam Wing toys and models, so we see the endless waltz kits and some better versions of the figures coming out in new packaging. But enough about that, on to the Wing Zero Custom.

The Wing Zero Custom model is a fun build and looks very impressive with only the stickers. Balancing the thing is a little hard and I definitely recommend gluing the backpack on, otherwise it will fall out. Other than that there really aren't any problems. This is a model, after all, so it's much better for display than it is for playing with. If you really want a toy, buy the arch enemies series of the Wing Zero or the regular figure of it.

On another note, I actually have two of these. One I used paint markers to do all the detailing so I wouldn't need any stickers and it looks fantastic sitting on a shelf with the wings spread. The other I painted jet black with silver trim and have it in a fighting pose. That's what the Wing Zero custom is all about, after all; it's eye-candy.

In short, it's a great model and if you didn't have a chance to get one when they were first released, now is a great time to do so. Whether you detail it and put it on display, or you play with it until all the joints are floppy and lose; the Wing Zero Custom is a great model and real joy to have.

wing 0 rulz yo!!!!
i just this model and it took me 8 hr 2 build and detail it. it looks awesum! but because of its massive "wings"(thus wing gundam) it cant quite balance with it. iz kinda 4 legged. and the reason i gave it 4 starz waz because the wings fall off if u slant it, but i still highly recommend this model. ... Whoa... Another decent model...
When I recieved this model, it started out like any other basic gundam model. It was plastic, not built, and of course, didn't look like the model on the box art. But if you were really into this hobby, you would just say this is exactly what I've been expecting and wanted. The Kampfer is a little rarer then the other HG (High Grade) models you'll find (due to how cool it looks :P) but if you get a chance to get it, you'll have fun building it. The weapons are extremely cool, but are not the best in fitting places on the gundam. This is like all Bandai Gundam models though, so you'll have to get used to it.

Once this model is built, it'll look like a cheap light blue crappier version to the model on the box. But one of the ideas in building, is painting. After you painted this (I did mine in black and white) you see that it looks cooler then the model up front. I think it's well worth the cash, and well worth the time once you see what you built.

Colors are all wrong, man!
It's supposed to be a deep, dark blue. But no, they make it some turquoise-kinda baby blue color. Bazookas are too small, the guns make the hands explode inside out, and how the heck are you going to stick all those little holsters onto twelve-year old jetpack(yes this model IS twelve almost thirteen)??? All in all, a must-not-buy

soooooooo good
Ok folks ive been building gundams for quite a while now so here goes my review of this kit.

the first thing youll notice is....ICK its not colered right X_X i dont really care though as it still looks kool but certain modelers will wish to paint it...the whole thing -_- . But the beauty is the WEAPONS! u get 2 shot guns 2 bazookas 2 panzer faust missles and a chainmines whip however this is also the reason i gave it 4 durability... the weapons do...fall off of the backpack but dont for the love of god super glue them...as u wouldbt have access to the bazookas but meh. anyway yes its a good kit for anyone...... SIEG ZEON! ^_^ ... Read more

Needs Alot of Work
I wanted to get a 1/144 Alex, and at the time this was the only one out. For the price it is worth it, but to make it look good, the model needs a lot of painting. It's doesn't even have eye stickers.

if your wana work buy it
well this model realy does look like crap if you dont paint it and work on it. i have bean a gundam fan for a very long time and out of all my models which is about 30 in culding a pg this one is my favorite, but i spent a lot of hardwork painting him and i also did a ton of weathering. if your a begginer i wouldnt buy this kit if you want your gundam to look cool with out paint. oh and it basicly onley comes in two colors blue and white. hes also a good kit to practice a new technique you might want to try but dont wana screw up one of your good models.

don't buy
Don't buy this gundam. It is horrible. It breaks so easily. Not meant for play (duh). It has parts that don't fit on. The pieces break so easily. Don't buy. It also looks bad. ... Read more

Hail Zeon!!
Hy Gogg is Zeon's amphibious Mobile Suit from Gundam 0080. It's a detailed reproduction of the actual thing from the movie, but it's not cast in all of the colors, so paint is required to help it look like an actual reproduction of the one from the movie. A little modeling glue helps, but isn't absolutely nessecary. In my opinion, building the figures is the most fun part, and doing so helps one learn to be careful with the parts and in some cases, painting skills, but this thing will NOT survive a fall from a shelf, desktop, TV set, etc. This shouldn't be reccomended to anyone under 12, or someone who lives with one under 12. The floor is every model's worst enemy.... =P

This is the coolest mecha design in the gunam universe
This item was reviewed by Diablo 15: I got this last week and it is awsome! Though if you don't have red, gray, and black paint I would not recomend it. It dosn't look good without them because it would be missing the gray between the arms the red cooling units and the black around the eye. Anyways I would actualy call this a level 1 or 2 because, being a reletively old model, it is simply constructed and requires paint. It has a number of nice options for the arm such as claws in different poses and missles that fit between the claws. You can also put him into streamline for underwater manuverability. The only complaint I have is that the body falls apart easily. But over all it is a nice model and adition to any gundam collection. ... Read more

My 6 year old loves it
The rockets ave really made my child happy. He loves playing with them. You do need a wide area to play with them. Depending on how you have the rocket aimed and the strength that you can launch with decides how big an area you need. Over all my son could not be happier. I am sure that this has been his best present this summer.

Flying High
I went to visit my sister-in-law, and her 4-year-old was playing with one of these rockets. He was having so much fun, that I'm getting one for my nephew. Be careful, though -- these rockets can fly very high! While I was there, one of the rockets ended up on the roof of the house!

NOT AS GOOD OR AS DURABLE AS THE STOMP ROCKET!!!
