A wonderful blend of deduction with a form of 20 Questions. Two players try to deduce the identity of their opponent's "Mystery Person." Using game boards with 48 frames apiece and an equal number of cards displaying character faces, players ask one another yes or no questions that help narrow the pool of possibilities. Through process of elimination, the identity of the Mystery Person slowly becomes evident. As kids' skill levels grow, their questions become more strategic, allowing them to solve the mystery faster and faster. The faces on the cards are cheerful and clever and designed to give subgroups among the 48 characters just enough similarities to challenge players. --Tom Keogh ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars THIS IS FUN FOR GROWN-UPS, TOO!
There are two great things about this game: (1) it is enjoyable even for adults, because it involves a creative new approach to deductive reasoning (don't worry if that sounds complicated; it's not) each time you play; and (2) there are no small parts to get lost -- everything is attached to the game board except for a stack of cards and even if you lose a few cards the game works. I think that the age range is WAY overstated -- I have played with my son since he was four and recently gave it to a family with 3 year old twins, and they can all play with no problem; so this is good for families with different=aged kids. Generally, my son is done playing before I am and there are very few things I can say that about!

Great Game!!!!
My 5 yr old daughter loves to play this game! She has had it 4 months now and it is still one of her favorites, and the questions she comes up with I would have never thought of myself, it is so interesssting how little minds work! A round is fairly quick but we always end playing at east 3-4 times. It will hold pretty well if treated properly but the yellow squares will pop of if it is roughed around with. I am very pleased with this game.

Great game, Poor quality
This is a great game. We had an old version of the game and loved it until my 2 year old son demolished it. My 6 year old daughter and I loved playing it so much that I purchased a new one. The game came in a million pieces and was very hard to put together. It keeps falling apart, so we rarely play it any more. Great game, but what happened to the quality of the construction?

My 5 year old loves it!
I have played this game sooooo many times with my son. I really enjoy watching him use deductive logic to guess what character card I have. I've been trying to teach him to pick the best question so he can win in fewer turns. He's getting there, but this game is one of his favorites. The game doesn't necessarily feel educational--that may be why he likes it so much.

I gave the game 3 stars for durability because the cards can fall out of their holders, and it is cheap plastic. The price is right on though.

Wonderful Educational Game!
My second graders just love this educational game during "free choice" time. They learn how to pose questions and how to use describing words, while learning also how to logically eliminate characters so that they can guess the right "Mystery Person." This transfers over to their writing skills when they write descriptions of that character. They are mastering the spelling of names and colors and character attributes like mustache, beard, wrinkles, sweater, etc. It is especially a boon to my second language learners. There is also a Spanish version called Quien es Quien? ... Read more

Poor Mr. Boddy has been shockingly murdered in his own mansion. To win this game, you must become a roving detective, sniffing out the answers to the classic mystery questions: Who among Mr. Boddy's guests committed the murder? What was the murder weapon? (Lead pipe? Wrench? Candlestick?) Where did the murder happen? (Library? Conservatory?) Because the answers change each time, the game is constantly challenging. A gameboard map of the mansion, detective notepad, deck of cards, one die, wandering playing pieces, and a healthy dose of intuition will help players be the first to figure out the answers. This edition of Clue is a departure from the old faces and mansion rooms that were beginning to look dated after all these years. Sultry Miss Scarlett looks like Lesley Ann Warren from the movie Clue. Mr. Green looks convincingly sinister, Mrs. Peacock snobbish and potentially cruel. Colonel Mustard is still Pompous, Professor Plum still clueless. Mrs. White, the grandmotherly maid, is downright spooky. --Gail Hudson ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars After all these years, still the classic "who-dunnit" game.
Clue -- known as "Cluedo" here in the UK -- was my favourite game as a child, and is still up there as one of the classics.

OK, so there are only 6 options for who did it and what they did it with, but there are 9 (am I remembering correctly?) rooms to choose from, so the possibilities, while not endless, are enough to while away an evening.

As a kid, I loved this game because you were solving problems in a race -- and that's still why I love it. It really helps children develop powers of logical reasoning in a fun environment, and in conjunction with other people.

But now for the real reason "Clue" (or "Cluedo") is a classic: What other game makes you feel like Sherlock Holmes, Inspector Morse, Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple rolled into one? None, and that's why no home is complete without a copy in their collection!

One of the best games ever made
Clue is the classic game by Parker Brothers. In the game you stuck are in a mansion. The owner Mr.Boddy has been murdered and its up to you to find out who did it.

There are six different playable characters. No character can do something others can't the only differnce in them is there starting locations and there actual names. Your goal is to navigate the mansion finding out clues as to who committed the murder. You have to guess who did it, where the murder was done, and what was is done with. You go by trial and error throughout the house until you gather enough clues to guess it right.

The game itself is pretty durable. You have six token pieces, a six sided die, cards, a standard board, and paper sheets for you clue book. Unless something gets wet you should be set.

The game is educational because it makes you think. You have to keep track of your clues that you collect. You can also pick up other clues by paying attention to other peoples clues and who is proving them wrong. You can be quite savvy in the game and this part is quite educational and fun.

Clue is a classic game. People have been playing it for over 50 years. It's the classic game of who did it and it's a fun mystery. No game is ever the same and that makes it even more fun. No kid or adult should ever go there life without playing this game. So go get Clue and find out who did it.

Very fun!
This game is extremely fun. It is good for all ages. I personally love mystery games like this but I'm sure that everyone will like this game. For younger ages there is a clue junior. I recommend this for all!

Over rated, imo
It's not that I haven't had fun playing this game, it's just that it really isn't fun without the right number of people playing. There is too much dependance on getting lucky and if the skill level between playes is too great, it's a cake walk for the more logical thinkers.

I also don't think this is the kind of game you can keep playing over and over like scrabble, boggle, or any number of card games that all have a lot more variance in play.

I'm not totally knocking "Clue", but it's one of those games that gets tiring after a few times of playing it.

clue is the best
When i first played clue i was so excited and i felt like i could have played it all day!I think that clue is a great game for all ages. Its fun, exciting and interesting for the whole family. The idea is brilliant. Its also really educational. Its my best game ever by far. I would recommed you to buy it to. ... Read more

A Murder Party for Adults
The box says this is for "Adults", especially since the game contains some flirty statements and descriptive accusations in the script. At the end of each script or dialogue each person had to accuse others of being the murderer, based on facts in their script booklet. The party planner's book gives great suggestions for props, music and food. We checked out a 50's CD from the library and played it all night long. We also had a hula hoop, 50's book and a 57 Chevy prop to go with the theme. The end had quite a twist, which made it fun and interesting. Overall, a fun game! Requires about three hours to play game. Note to Party Planner: Read through the first dialogue of the part you play to better understand how the dialogue should go. This will help you better explain to others. Have fun! ... Read more

You'll keep looking over your shoulder while playing the Spy Alley Game. A little bit of paranoia helps in this business, what with secret agents from all over the world following you around the board as you try to pick up clues to their identity and keep your own well hidden. Use your tokens, play money, cards, and scoreboards to try to complete your own mission and force your opponents to give up valuable information--but watch out for the fabled Alley, which might lead to untold dangers (or, maybe, the lucky break you need to win the game!).Up to six players can vie for world domination in this suspenseful-until-the-last-minute game. --Rob Lightner ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Edge Of Your Seat Fun!
From the first moment my family opened the box, to this very day, we still get the same feelings of excitement, escapism and suspense when ever we play Spy Alley.

Each player becomes a spy by drawing a spy identification card and assume that identity. They then try to uncover their opponents' identity while trying to keep their own identity a secret. Your mission is to collect the required codebooks, keys, passwords and disguises and make it to your embassy in Spy Alley without being detected or to remain the last spy to retain their identity. It's a simple game with lots of twists, but suprisingly intense. There is a bit of chance with the roll of a die, but there is also plenty of strategy! To throw people off your trail, you can acquire items from the other nationalities, you try to anticipate how the other spies will use their move cards and free gift cards, you also have to know when to risk going down Spy Alley and the possibility of being exposed! Watch your body language, it can give you away! It's exhilirating to experience the thrill of hunting and the paranoia of being the hunted! Spy Alley will bring out some interesting sides of family and friends. Among the many benefits of this game, it has helped sharpen our thirteen year old's reasoning skills. She has also developed quite an ability to bluff!

The strategies are endless and it's a game that never gets old. I recommend playing with three or more players. It's a great family game and, without question, Spy Alley is a game that would put even the great James Bond on the edge of his seat!

Great Family Mystery Game
This is a perfect game that you can enjoy with the whole family! It is very fun and great for little ones too! I own this game, and my family enjoys it very much. This is a great mystery game where you spy to find out each pearson's idenity. I love this game and I think you would too!

good for grown-ups, too
My husband and I enjoyed this game. Even though it was just the two of us playing, there was enough suspense and variety to keep us interested. I'm looking forward to the next family gathering, because playing with a group would provide even more variation and fun. It's also easy to play the first time yet offers strategic advantages to veteran players.

BEST GAME IN A LONG TIME
WE LOVE THIS GAME. IT IS GREAT FOR TWO OR MORE AND THE 10 AND 12 YEAR OLD ARE ALREADY RE-WRITING THE RULES TO MAKE IT FUNNER.
WE HAVE FOUND THAT IF SOMEONE IS KICKED OUT OF THE GAME - IT IS FUNNER TO HAVE HIM OR HER START OVER. WE ALSO DECIDED THAT IF THAT HAPPENS THAT EVERYONE GETS A NEW IDENTITY. IT CHANGES THE WAY YOU BUY THINGS. ALSO WE HAVE MADE THE "MOVE" CARDS FOR FORWARD AND BACKWARDS. OBVIOULSY WE PLAY THIS GAME A LOT AND THAT IS WHY WE ARE SPICING THINGS UP A BIT. BUT IT IS GREAT AND A DURABLE GAME.

WOW!
This is my favorite game in the world! You can pretend your a spy. And it teaches kids to be sneaky. And, oh yeah, it teaches kids how to spend their money wisely! Buy it NOW! YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT! :) ... Read more

Know people with a taste for murder mysteries? Even if they're not fans of Agatha Christie, they'll have a wonderful evening with The Chicago Caper. Like all of the theme parties in the How to Host a Murder series, this boxed set provides everything you need to plan and host a four- to five-hour dinner party. The game, designed for eight players, each of whom takes on a role in the drama, begins with a cassette complete with 1920s jazz and a sultry-voiced barkeep who provides the first set of clues. Hal Coppone is dead, she announces. One of the guests is the murderer. From there, each player must reveal what he or she knows--and conceal the character's dark secrets--all with the guidance of a personalized game book. While the fun is certain to revolve around the rich cast of characters (including Molly M. Awbsterr, Ernie G. Ambler, and Eddie "Socks" R. Gyle), the Host Guide provides a number of suggestions to enrich the evening, including delicious recipes designed to fit with the theme. In addition to the Host Guide, eight player's books, and the tape, the package contains a map of the crime scene, secret clues, guest invitations, and nametags. --Patrick O'Kelley ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Funtastic!
This game was great fun! Included in my guest list for this "mystery Caper" were several people who had never met before, and by the end of the evening were old friends, knowing eachother only by their characters names. For this game to be a big hit, encourage everyone to wear costumes as suggested in the manual and arrive on time. This game is a great ice breaker & loads of laughs. Be prepared to spend an entire evening playing and have help serving if you intend to be one of the fun characters! I even used most of the menu suggestions and the receipes included. I am looking foward to hosting another one soon!

meh
Very high on cheese which can be fun. This game was confusing where it was trying to be smart. I reccomend a Clue themed party instead. And 30 bucks isn't a great deal for a one time use thing.

How to Host a Murder: Chicago Caper by Decipher
I love this game. I have also tried How to Host:The Watersdown Affair and it was great as well. Keep these games coming!!!

Absolutley Fabulous Time
If you havent already played a murder mystery, i would order one right away. My friends and I (who are all in high school) played this one about a year ago and had an amazing time. Since I gave out the invitations ahead of time, everyone was able to dress for the part, making it 10x better. Once each of us got into role, it was hillarious. The game scripts are written very cleverly with many sexual innuendoes, so i wouldnt try the game with children younger than high school. The only downer is that the way that the game is written, it cannot be played more than once. Everyone at the party had a ball. Since then we have had 2 more and i am currently planning a 4th. I would reccomend this game for any small group of friends wishing to have a good time.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Fun
Everyone came in costume. We started at 6:30 pm and ended at Midnight. Couldn't believe how late it was, we had fun the whole time. Great game. Clue FX Review
This game plays exactly like the original Clue, except there are more suspects and more weapons. Also, it talks to you! The butler gives tips and encouragement, THOUGH IT CAN GET REPETITIVE. Also, this time around you're not playing as a suspect, you're playing as a detective. There are only 4, to my disappointment. However, now you can play Clue with 2 players.

FINAL WORD:
If you're a casual game enthusiast, Clue FX might be worth a look. However, if you are a serious Clue fan, this is an awful product that is not worth your time or money.

Fun Game!!!
I read the reviews to this game and was not sure if I would like the game. I love the original clue game and was somewhat skeptical because of some of the reviews. My husband and I then began playing the game and loved it. It is a quick game that you can play over and over again. In one night we played four games. This game is very similar to the original game with fun twists. I recommend this game to anyone who enjoyed playing the original clue game.

No one needs a clue to love this game
Although I had never played the original Clue game, the talking version appealed to me. Clue FX is a fun game that is educational in two ways. It uses problem solving and listening skills which improve everyday skills as well. It says "more mystery" on its cover and it is true to its word. It has more suspects than the original game. To summarize: If you took the best features from every single game I ever played, plus added a few of your own that you never saw before, Clue FX adds up to that.

Clue FX is The Best!
I would say Clue FX is the best game on Earth! You have to listen very carfully were the suspects and the inspector are.Your listning skill will probly increse. You should have teams the first time around because noteing what information the suspects have. I would not recamend having a 6 year or youger player play on hiselfs/herselfs own. It gets very anoying haveing them play on there own. This is the best game because anybody can play it and you can play with your family or friends.

Clue FX is fun, fun, fun!
My 8 year old daughter played this at a friend's house and had to have it! Her father, sister and I love to play this game together. It promotes good listening skills and helps learn to use strategy. It's a good idea to play in teams for the first few times because keeping track of everything could get confusing. The electronic board keeps the game interesting, because you never know where the suspects are going to be. It's a different game every time you play. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great fun for 9 - 10 year olds, too
Although the age range starts at 12, my daughter's 10th birthday was a huge success with this game. It is very complex, but all eight of the kids really got into the finest details. None of them solved it before the solution was revealed, but had a great time playing the characters and anlyzing the information anyway. From start to finish, including playing through dinner, they needed 4 1/2 hours, and even then I was pushing them along a bit. Be sure to allow enough time for the guests to discuss the mystery as much as they'd like. The downside was that they got into it so much that two of the kids had nightmares about vampires afterward! We did the decorations along with the theme, and I (Mom) dressed as a vampire to add to the atmosphere. With take-out barbeque served, this was the EASIEST, most fun birthday party I have ever done - and my daughter says that it was her favorite party ever. She wants to do the other one, and it's so easy that we'll do it this spring without the excuse of a birthday. Perfect for kids who are into mysteries - this group also loves fantasy such as Harry Ptter.

great but not the best
I have gotten both "Barbecue with the Vampire" and "Roswell that ends well" for my 14th and 15th birthday parties. I must admit that both are exalent and have the guests talking about it for years (yes that's right years!) but Roswell that Ends Well has a much better story line.

VAMPIRE MYSTERY ROCKS!
My friend bought this and set it up for a party on haloween. I was Robin O'Positive (actually her evil twin, Robin O'Negative) and I thought it was the coolest thing ever! I was scared weeks after and everyone there had a blast! This is the best thing you could ever do for a party! Words can not explain how cool it is to play! We're thinking about buying the Alien one for a Luau party on the last day of school. I loved playing this mystery!

Best 12-yr-old birthday party idea yet...
This game made for an easy and very entertaining birthday party for my 12-yr-old son and his friends. We got a lot of compliments from the kids who attended and their parents. The game allows for a great amount of flexibility in terms of setting, food, decor, or lack thereof. Although the game specifications say that you need to have 4 girls and 4 boys, one of the female characters (Robin O'Positive) and one of the male characters (Killian Killagan)can be played as either gender, so you can have a 5/3 split with either gender in the majority. The costume suggestions were easy to follow and could be done minimalistically--everyone who came to our son's party had worn some degree of costume, which helped the kids keep the characters straight during the game.

"Take-out" rotisserie chicken with BBQ sauce and snack-sized jelly-filled sponge cakes from the grocery store are good party fare to go with the vampire theme. An adult moderator is indispesible for keeping the game moving and for re-speaking any clues that are mumbled or spoken too softly for the whole group to hear. Our group of 11-14 yr-olds finished the game in four hours, which included breaks for lunch, birthday cake, and gift opening.

Barbeque with a Vampire
A few weeks ago a group of friends and I played this game. We're all in our mid to late 20s. For me and a couple of others it was our first murder mystery but the majority were murder mystery veterans. We all loved it!
Best of all the conclusion makes sense! When you think about it, it's completely obvious that person is the murderer without it being a complete give away.

[We played another one this past weekend (different company) which was not as successful. The murderer was so obvious no one guessed it could possibly be them and a great deal of the dialogue was pre-scripted]

Discovering everyone's little secrets just adds hilarity to the game. Of course, keep in mind that you can only play the game once. Hang the map some where so it doesnt get messed up during the game.
At first glance 25 bucks seems expensive for a game you can only play once but I guess you'd spend more on that on movies or another form of entertainment.

I highly reccommend this game to people of any age looking for an evening of fun. ... Read more

A Killer Evening!
We invited 3 of our couple friends to be the guests for the evening. We played Italian music in the background-- the theme from The Godfather was perfect! All of our guests took time to dress up; one of our guests (in his vinter role) even brought his own wine glass and stained his fingers a purplish color! We had each couple bring a pizza and a bottle of wine; we served appetizers and dessert! What a blast. Took photos and mugshots (a line up of all the suspects against the wall). It DID take a lot more work to host and play a role, but it was a delight for everyone! We spent hours playing the game, but it was a lot of laughs and the ending was a great surprise! Just relax and invite friends who love to let their hair down!

Great Fun!
My friends and I had such a blast playing this game. We all were in costume/character all evening and had a wonderful 5 course meal. We did lots of decorating as well. One of the funnisest was, The "victim" is the twin brother of one of the characters so we enlarged a photo of the guy coming as the twin and hung it on the wall. We surrounded it with candles as sort of a vigil to the dearly departed. The hostess had a T-shirt made that said "I Killed Pepi Roni" to give as a gift to the "murderer". They had a chalk outline on the sidewalk in front of their house with yellow "caution" tape wrapped around it. Since we stayed in character, ate our meal between scenes, and just had fun in general, it took us several hours to complete. A very fun evening.

A night of fun
This was the 1st mystery dinner we had ever tried - and we've been having them on a regular basis ever since then. This game is easy to prepare for, easy to participate in and FUN! A great night - without a doubt.

3-0 out of 5 stars A fun idea for a dinner party
Rather than prepare the suggested menu, everyone was assigned a dish with an Italian theme, that took alot of work off of the hostess. We all dressed in costume. Some people had real problems translating the third person descriptions into first person. If anyone wears reading glasses, make sure that they bring them! Overall, we had a great time, and are planning another one, looking for the Lethal Luau version for next time.

4-0 out of 5 stars Needed a bit more instruction
My guests arrived in their designated costumes, and all had a great time in just the preparation of their characters. The guests chose to help me out by preparing some of the dishes. We went straight out of the book. The mushroom salad was not enough to feed the eight I had in attendance. The green beans needed to be cooked longer than the book suggested. The onion topped Boboli was a hit!! No one knew if the roasted peppers were to be served as an appetizer, salad or main course...we live in Texas.
The character books need to be written in first person,(the you's need to be replaced with I's), as the guests were very dependent on their scripts. We didn't get in to the challenging very well until the third round and only because one of my guests had been to a mystery dinner before. ... Read more

this is a great holiday gift for those simpson lovers. Although i do agree with the other reviewer who says that the questions will not respond to yes or no questions like it should. Such as "Thank you come again". What these phrases do is show you the characters favorite catch phrases are such as D'oh! I'm suprised and disapointed that they didn't have ay curumba! (Bart)

Not Very Useful
Normally I love magic 8 balls. However this one is not very enlightening because the answers are not variants of yes or no. For example is "Mmm... Something" a positive or negative response?

Still a favorite after all these years.
Okay I admit it, when my kids were not looking, I had to give the ball a shake or two. I remember having the black Magic 8 ball when I was a teen back in the 80s and thinking it was way cool. So I bought this newer Red Simpsons for one of my girl, and my other daughter got a difrent Magic 8 ball. Yes they loved them. And they can not wait to take the Magic 8 balls to school to show it off. It is fun, and the answers are cooler then what I remember. So when ever I am alone and my kids are not looking, or are asleep, I have a good conversation with this toy, and they give me good and funny answers. The girls usually leave them in the living room, and every one who has come to the house gives the ball a shake. They are fun, and a bit addicting.

New Version on Toy Classic
With a different look and sayings, the "Magic 8 Ball: The Simpsons" is a new twist on an old classic. Instead of being black and giving simple answers like "yes" and "possibly," this version captures many of the popular sayings said by the large cast of characters from the Simpsons. From Homer Simpson's "D'Oh!" to Ned Flanders' "Okeley Dokeley," this toy gives the user over twenty catch phrases from the popular series. Although it's a great toy and sturdily made, my only problem with the toy is that it takes a while for the saying to appear on the screen. I had to shake it several times before getting anything to appears on the ball's screen. Besides this downside, the "Magic 8 Ball: The Simpsons" is a great gift for any Simpsons' fan. ... Read more

Put on your own mystery dinner theater: murder's on the menu, and everyone's a suspect in this grownup game for six to eight players. The game includes everything you need to serve up mystery, murder, and fun: a shopping list, menus, and recipes by cookbook author Sandra Gluck; eight party invitations and envelopes; place cards; secret clues; and, best of all, a murder mystery to solve. Just invite your friends to dress up and play the roles of the devious suspects (each with his or her own character booklet with roles and background info): Otto Von Schnapps, Tiny Bubbles, Papa Vito, Marilyn Merlot, Ralph Rottingrape, Hedy Shablee, Bonny Lass, and Bud Wizer. Serve up a meal or light snack, play the (included) cassette tape with its introduction, summary of events, and solution to the crime. Find out who killed California vineyard owner Barry Underwood, and why. --Rebecca Hughes ... Read more

A Taste for Wine and Murder
Although this murder mystery game set made for a fun evening with friends, it was rather confusing. I recommend reading the first dialogue so that you can get a feel for it, and explain it better to your guests. Also, please let your guests know that if their character booklet says anything about a "clue #x" at any point, have them let the rest know. The "clue" booklets are vital to determining the murderer[ess]. Overall, take time to decide what to say to your guests when explaining how the game runs, and make sure that you don't leave anything out of the explanation.

5-0 out of 5 stars Do you drink wine? If so, grab this game!
OK, I have to first admit that I *love* these kinds of party games. The whole idea of dressing up, hanging out with friends and trying to solve a mystery together while you eat delicious food is just about the most enjoyable way I can imagine to spend with 7 of my best friends. This game makes it so easy! You follow the instructions, hand out the notes to the players, and it's all set! A definite must-have for any fun-loving wine drinker! Perhaps the only drawback might be that some people just don't enjoy these sorts of play-acting games. So choose friends that really have fun with this.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fun, fun, fun!
What fun my friends and I had while doing this murder mystery party. A must for game-players and wine-lovers!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Fun! Good wine, good food and good friends!

4-0 out of 5 stars Love this Game!
My daugther just received this game for her 4th birthday. She played it once at a friend's house and had been talking about it ever since. She was SO excited when she opened this present. The game is so much fun.It is a kids game that I actually like playing.(nice to get a break from Candyland and Chute and Ladders) It is easy to figure out how to play -- just a matter of reading the directions, which are simply written and easy to understand. The object of the game is to find out who ate the cake, what time they ate it and what they had to drink with it.The figures slide into the disc shaped stands and which ever figure has the picture of cake crumbs is the one who ate it.The stands slide off so the person who ate the cake is never the same.It is similar to the original clue game in that you go to the different rooms etc.It is just simplified. The game is designed for 5-8 year olds but my daugther just turned 4 and loves playing it!I do have to help her out a little but eventually she'll be able to play it with out my help. When we're not playing the game, she loves to play "house" with the figures.I'd recommend this for any young dectective or any parent who is looking for a break from other child games!

2-0 out of 5 stars UMMMMMMMMMM.........................
OK when my dad bought this game for me I was excitied. Then my friend came over and TRIED to play it but how do you know if they ate the cake or not?! All they give you is, Miss Scarlett,Mr.Plum etc, some pieces of paper with different drinks and all that, futiture (I dont know why they gave me this)and a game board. So how are we supposed to find out? I have played adult clue. But they give you cards and a file. If someone know how to play Clue Jr please tell me!!!!!!!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Good Warm Up for the Older Child/Adult Version
I bought this game for my seven-year-old daughter who saw the stage version of "Clue" and I wasn't sure if she was quite ready for the regular version.

She enjoys the game thoroughly, especially the familiar characters (you know them, Professor Plum, Miss Scarlet, Mrs. Peacock, etc) though instead of murder and mayhem, they are eating cake.... Yes, it is scaled down AND in "bite sized pieces" (sorry for the pun that was `dying' to be written).

I could easily see my daughter playing this for a couple months and then graduating to the adult version. It is simple to follow, engaging and does necessitate some logical thinking for the younger set. My older daughter played along and wasn't bored like she is by some other "little kid" board games.

Ah, Cryptique...
Ah, Cryptique... To quote "Penn & Teller's Bulls**t", it's the perfect blend of death and the mall. I recommend buying the P&T:BS DVD on Amazon. This magickal item is featured prominently.

I would choose a better game than this to buy.
This board game is lame. The kids 6, 10, and 13 were bored straight. It wasn't accurate. kids kept pulling the planchette to make dirty words. Not a fun game for any age, I was just incredibly bored with it. Don't buy this waste of paper and plastic. P.S. the board burns good.

Ouija Are dangrous but if yu take care your OK
There fine to use, But I recommend you are over 13. Or Older! What it is you talk to peepz that have gone to a better place if you know what I mean. You talk to them and when you finished talking or you feel un comftable say good bye that is very important. Dont say enter my body/house. Do not say show us a sign, Under 3 peepz using the board at ones. When finished and you want to destroy the board rap it in white cloth dig a hole and burn it and burry it.

Oh cmon
have some fun already and just play it. i don't believe you are talking to spirits, its fun to let your sub-conscience take over and have yourself move the pointer without knowing it.

Some important things you should know...
This review contains my views, warnings, safety tips, and other things you should know.

In contrast to 'Toy enthusiast from NJ'-
Yes bad (evil) spirits can be summoned, as well as the good spirits, as well as spirits who are mischevious and therefor arent neccesarily evil, they just like to have fun in ways u might not appreciate. For example, they move your desk a few inches and rearange the desk, no matter how many times you move it back. (I know somebody who this happens to).

These 'games' have nothing at all to do with religion. **Do not play thinking it has anything to do with Satan, or with a negative attitude, or you run the risk of attracting negative spirits as well.**

I recommend sprinkling some 'black salt' lightly around the board in a circle before beginning. This helps keep the unwanted, negative spirits away. Attracting a negative spirit to the board can be very disturbing and dangerous.

The board itself cannot be haunted or carry any negative energy even if it was used for contact with a negative spirit...it is just a board with writing on it. A tool.

**IF AT ANY TIME during usage of the board you suddently feel cold, or threatened, it is a good idea to stop using the board immediately and would probably be best to not use it for the rest of the day. These are signs of an evil spirit!!**

Do not play in a dark room. I have heard it is not a good idea. Besides, it freaks people out.

y!Moving furnature isnt always necessarly a sign of an evil spirit, the spirit may be a mischevious one. Perhaps just having alittle fun. If it becomes too much or dangerous, ofcourse, say good-bye and stop.

Over all, this game is NOT completely safe. You DO run the risk of inviting a BAD spirit into your home. Even if it might not happen for many, many times you use it.If you would rather not run the risk of your house becoming haunted by a negative spirit, then A. Dont use it in your home. B. Dont use it at all. Or C. Use it at someone elses house (hehe just kidding, thats probably not nice.) **Only use it indoors, so Ive been told. And dont be crazy and use it at a graveyard! While I dont know what would happen, Im sure it would be scary and dangerous. Besides the fact your surrounded many many corpses. Too many spirits are lingering there. I would never do that, especially in the night.**

I hope this helps. Be carefull!! Oh, and I dont believe in satan, and if you do then you should realize that if there is a satan, you are just giving it power by doing so.

Oh, and to 'A Toy enthusiast from NJ', dont capitalize the word 'satan' like you would 'God'. I wouldnt think you, who has such surprisingly offensive insults to that which you do not know of, would give enough privilage to capitalize the word satan as that you would do when writing about Him, God. ... Editorial Review

Okay, it's not the most complex toy that's ever been attempted. They didn't re-invent the rules of the classic murder mystery game Clue, they simply reproduced it with characters, locations, and weapons from the world of The Simpsons. But that simplicity is what makes this set so much darn fun. In this version, Mr. Burns has been found dead. Marge is now Mrs. Peacock, Homer is Mr. Green, Krusty is Colonel Mustard, Bart is Professor Plum, Lisa takes the role of Miss Scarlet, and, perhaps most delightfully, Waylon Smithers, is Mrs. White. Weapons include a poison donut and a plutonium rod, while locales include the power plant and Krustylu Studios. If all these references confuse you, well, it's still a game of Clue and a great game to play. But if these references send you off into a gleeful reverie of repeated catch phrases and favorite episode memories, then you really need this game. --John Moe ... Read more

Great Game For Simpsons Lovers
I LOVE the Simpsons and therefore I LOVE this game. It's really fun for both adults and children. I've been playing Clue for years, and it was an interesting change playing Simpsons Clue. I'd recommend this game to anyone, especially those familiar with the cartoon.

Best. Clue. Ever.
Remember when Mr. Burns was shot and nearly killed? Well this time Mr. Burns was found dead and Chief Wiggum rounds up six suspects. The killer will not get away. You play the roll of one of the suspects and work your way on discovering, before the other players, who killed Mr. Burns, with what weapon and in what Location in Springfield.

The board game is beautiful. The deck of cards is awesome. The yellow dice are a nice touch. And the game pieces are very cool regardless of the version you have. (1st edition - pewter; 2nd edition colorful detailed plastic.

The Players are:
Homer Simpson as Mr. Green
Krusty the Clown as Colonel Mustard
Marge Simpson as Mrs. Peacock
Lisa Simpson as Miss Scarlet
Bart Simpson as Professor Plum
Waylon Smithers as Mrs. White

The Weapons are:
Poisoned Donut
Extend-O-Glove
Necklace
Slingshot
Plutonium Rod
Saxophone

The Locations Are:
Nuclear Power Plant
Springfield Retirement Castle
The Simpson House
The Frying Dutchman
The Andromeda's Dungeon
Burn's Manor
Krustylu Studios
Barney's Bowl-A-Rama
Kwik-E-Mart

This game is easy to learn, easy to play and very fun. I gave the game 5 stars in educational because even though it is very simple you really have to use your brain. So if you are not used to thinking, be warned, it will hurt. I love Clue and this version just begs to be played with.

As a game fan, a Simpson's fan and a collector I have to say if you haven't purchased this game do so. Only God knows how long this version will be available.

A Winner!
Great "Clue" game with a twist. The hilarious characters from "The Simpsons" are suspects to the murder of Mr.Burns(Mr.Body). Same like the orginal clue, but with different characters, like Bart as Professor Plum, Smithers as Mrs. White etc; There's different locations(a power plant,Kwik-E mart) and weapons(slingshot, poisoned donut). A fun game to play, and a great one to collect if your'e a "Simpsons" fan.

For the Simpson's Fan!
If you love the Simpson's, this is a great collectible to have. If you love Clue, this is quirky version to play. Either way, this is a winner. You have Lisa as Miss. Scarlett and Mr. Smithers as Mrs. White. You have rooms like the Frying Dutchman and Mr. Burns Mansion. You can choose weapons like Bart's slingshot or a plutonium rod from the nuclear factory. All in all, this makes for a fun family night.

A New Twist to a Classic Game
I've had this game for several years and although it doesn't get much play, due to the fact that you need at least three people to join in, it still holds all the same charm of the classic game of Clue. The most hilarious of all is Mr. Smithers as Mrs. White. The artwork alone on the game board should be enough for any Simpson's fan, however, I can assure you that this version will liven up a dull time with the family or in-laws. It amazes me that after all these years my sister still tries to cheat by looking at my notes. It also amazes me that she doesn't catch me glancing at hers.
The game is very simple and takes only seconds to refresh the rules for everyone. And if you've played the classic version of clue to death, items like "the poisoned donut" will be sure to crack you up and make the game new for you.
I would recommend this game to anyone who has played clue and or has a long visit with the family lined up. Leave the Monopoly in the closet it will only make everyone hate each other. This game, if played correctly (with minimal cheating), should bring you all together, or at least provide a good laugh. ... Read more

Aunt Agatha has died and left you and 15 of her other relatives a fortune. Unfortunately, you have to go to her mansion to try to collect the money without getting "bumped off" by your greedy kin. Players move around the board (the mansion) trying to avoid pitfalls and trying to trap their opponents as they escape the house with the inheritance. A certain amount of bluffing and strategy makes this creepy game fun for older players, making for a perfect family game. 1313 Dead End Drive, for two to four players, comes with a game board, 5 traps, 16 pawn stands, 4 clips, 48 cards, 2 parts sheets, a pair of dice, and a decorative label sheet. Playing time is approximately one hour. Some assembly is required. --M. Sullivan ... Read more

1313 Dead End Drive!
I first played this game with some of my close friends, when I was 13 (coincedence) and soon I was soo Addicted (in a good way) that I couldnt put it down. I loved the game so much, that about a week later I bought it for myself and my sister. The quality of the game cards, well, were basic cards, which of course got bent soon, but the quality of the little plastic figures were great! Such as the suit of armor that would fall over. Those figures got stepped on many times (oops) but they never broke, or were bent! Also, what I think I loved most about the game is that you have to think of ways to move around the board to avoid the traps. I would reccomend this game to anyone wanting a board game with something extra!

fun, but super kidified...
this game is lots of fun, although it can take a while to set up. But I am most dissapointed with the new board layout... the original board actually looked like a creepy mansion and all the characters looked really cynical. Here, the board looks like something out of Scooby-Doo... but looks aside, this game is fun mainly because it's so different from normal board games like Monopoly. And come on, what kid isn't going to enjoy knocking game pieces around with the five 3D booby traps?

Good game, but hard to setup
This game is pretty fun. Most of the pieces for the game are made of card board. After a while the pieces start to get bent. And it gets harder to setup the game. And in the game it is very easy to nock the background thing and make to fall, it gets sort of annoying. This game pretty much has no educational value. All you do is walk around and kill people and try to get out of the house with a lot of money.

Wonderful
This game is alot of fun and kids would love it. It's true it does take a while to set it up, but I think it was worth it. I reccomend this for anything & anyone!

I don't understand why this game is 'staying alive'
If you enjoy a good time...then look elsewhere. This game is awful! I had done one of these murder mystery games before, years ago, and really enjoyed it. So I decided to host my own, and I bought Staying Alive. It came with a bunch of prep materials including invitations, costume suggestions and the like, but the materials were much more focused on giving you recipes for your gathering than supplying you with detailed character descriptions or instructions on how the game is played. The night of my murder mystery everyone showed up, all dressed up which was fun. The we started the game. The game is set up very rigidly, and doesn't leave any room for interpretation or imagination. For example, at the beginning of each round each character is given information about themselves, some of which shouldn't be revealed "unless directly asked about from another player." We discovered while playing the game that each of these pieces of information were given to other players in order to ask us about. So each round played out as if we were reading a script...and a really bad script at that. The motives are all poposterous and stupid and there is absolutely no character development at all, or room for character development. And the murderer...comes out of thin air, as if chosen at random from a hat. Please don't waste your money on this stupid stupid game!
P.S. I gave this game a 3 for durability, but I'm not sure what that means. I guess you could play it again, but then why would you want to?

Look out John Travolta!
My husband and I played this game with some friends last weekend and we had a truly GROOVY TIME! Talk about making a dinner party fun! We used the invitations that came with the game and the menu suggestions. We encouraged our friends to dig out their old 70's cloths (some even bought some at the local Salvation Army for very cheap) and we played 70's music as people arrived. We even gave a bottle of wine to the people with the best costume. It was really fun and everyone got into acting out their 70's cheesey characters. The game was very easy to understand and we all go into solving the murder. We are going to get another Murder Mystery Party for the very near future. Get this!!! Especially if you have friends that need a little change in their life. Have some fun and be creative! No holds barred! ... Read more

A Really Cute Game - Highly Recommended
We love this game! It is full of short mysteries that keep kids attention. The mysteries are very cute and get the kids thinking creatively. To find out the answer, they use a magnifying glass with a red film in it. The film decodes the answer so they can read it. The only problem we have is that some of the mysteries are too hard for our younger child, so sometimes we give her extra hints. Our kids love playing it! We think you should try it!! ... Read more
