It could be better for more money,,but I'm keeping it.
If you were looking for metal blades and leather glove,,you'd be looking at 500.00 or more.The scale is smaller than accual size,,but like someone else said,, for the average person not willing to spend lots of [money],,it's good.I gave it 5 stars cause it's something I was looking for,not the cheap plastic glove and mask that you see around halloween and go ahead and try to make your own,, good luck.if you can,, all the power to you,( see you on e-bay ).Have you seen what a good jason mask is going for on e-bay,?? I mean a good one, I'm happy with it and if you can afford it,,check it out.

I purchased this and waited like I was 12 yrs old for the day it arrived. It finally arrived and I have many questions. Now , is this really an exact replica of Freddy's glove and Jason's mask from the film? Why was the red felt back panel not glued in straight? Why were'nt the gloves blades made of metal? Why was the glove not leather? Why was'nt it fitted with a glass front instead of plastic? Now having asked these questions after paying 200+ for this I still say it rules only because its probably the best your average joe can get without making his own to display. I contend a person could and probably has made an actual replica by now that is completely real! If so lets hope we can afford it. FOUR STARS ****-

This is a crappy replica!
I spent the insane amount of money to buy this and it is horrible. The "authentic" glove is tiny and made out of plastic(The real glove is leather and metal.. some replica) and the jason mask is even smaller(wasn't jason really big in the movie)! I was lucky enough to get a refund! Don't waste your money! MAke your own. It will be cheaper and better!!

Hey kids! Want to be sent to the principal's office?
I suppose that technically lunch boxes come under the category of Toys & Games but I pity the child that takes the "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" Lunch Box into their cafeteria at school. Obviously this product, an ironic counterpart to the lunch boxes of our youth when you could represent your favorite television show like "The Man from U.N.C.L.E." or "Lost in Space" at lunch time, is intended for those of us who remember when the original Tobe Hooper classic splatter flick came out (not to be confused with the slick remake from last year that just came out on DVD).

This is not to say that this lunch box and the accompanying thermos are not functional, because they certainly are. But I really think of this as more of a display item for someplace where the authorities cannot confiscate it. You get a picture of "Leather Face," the villain from the movie with his favorite weapon with a victim screams in the background. The text declares: "America's most bizarre and brutal crimes! Who will survive and what will be left of them?" You get the same picture and captions on the thermos as well.

For fans of the movie this is one of the better items out there to celebrate your enjoyment of the sick and twisted. Things like the "Texas Chainsaw Massacre Leatherface Head Lite Set" and the "Texas Chainsaw Massacre Leatherface Head Bobber" look cheap compared to this lunch box. If you want something more modern but in a similar bloody vein, check out the "Friday the 13th" lunch pail, which offers the black counterpart to this white effort. Ah, the joys of Pop Culture. ... More Heather Langenkamp that Freddy Krueger on this one
The "A Nightmare on Elm Street Lunch Box" features the original poster art for Wes Craven's 1984 horror film. For those wanting to try and buck the system to bring a lunch box with Freddy Krueger to school this will not exactly fit the bill because while you get his razors, you do not exactly get his glove, and his eyes and face are not exactly recognizable as such. On the other hand, you do get the Heather Langenkamp's Nancy Thompson character lying on her bed under the knives so to speak. The thermos has the same artwork, with a red cup just to serve as an accent, although I really think this lunch box will end up as a display item for collectors than something someone would actually take to work (kids, you are not going to get this into your school cafeteria, so do not even try). All that is missing is the original tagline: "If Nancy Doesn't Wake Up Screaming She Won't Wake Up At All..."

The idea that this is a "retro-style" lunch box throws me because I apparently never noticed what constitutes the "modern" version of such things. Because of the artwork I think this retro-style lunchbox for "A Nightmare on Elm Street" comes out ahead of the "Friday the 13th" lunchbox, both of which are a level ahead of the one for "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre." At least that last one actually has Leatherface, whereas you do not really get Freddy on this one and Jason was not even in the first "Friday the 13th" film. However, I am sure if you want patiently there will be more of these appearing down the road that will better represent the iconic figures of the modern American splatter flick. ... Read more

The "Friday the 13th" Lunch Box (but without Jason)
"They were warned
They were doomed
And on Friday the 13th
Nothing will save them."

That declaration alone is enough to make sure that no kid in America is going to be able to take this lunch box into any school cafeteria in the nation without being sent home, do not pass go, do not take your "Friday the 13th" Lunch Box when you leave. Done in basic black with red trim, this lunch box measures 9 by 7 by 4 inches and comes with a Thermos and features the original poster art from the 1980 splatter flick that launched a spawn of sequels that eventually lead to a confrontation between Jason and Freddie. This is of interest because you can also get a "Nightmare on Elm Street" Lunch Box as a nice counterpart to this one. "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" Lunch Box looks pretty boring next to these two.

Okay, so technically Jason was not in the first film except for the dreamy bit at the end where he jumps out of the lake, which explains why his icoicn hockey mask does not appear on the art here (that and the fact that the figure with the bloody knife does not have a head to be wearing the hockey mask in the first place). But just hang on and I am sure that sooner or later Jason will be featured prominently on a lunch box because it seems like every movie and television show from "Kill Bill" to "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" is ending up on a lunch box. For those who remember the joy of picking out a new lunch box for the school year that reflected something they really liked ("Lost in Space" because of the Robot) being able to relive their childhood by collecting "forbidden" lunch boxes like this one should be fun.

I wonder, if you brought this one to work would they send you home as well?

This is a great item. It is fully colored on all sides and has a great quality for the pictures. It has a clip inside for the thermos so it won't roll around. And it is a great product all round. It is a great price too! ... Read more
