Great Game
If you were born between 1965 and 1980, you MUST own this game. The set-up of the game is good, but the questions are great. You will have a blast remembering some of the crazy songs/people/movies of the 80s. Big hair not required.

This game rocks !!
I realize that a lot of people won't know all of the information from the game, but for our family it just made "family time" all the better. The four of us grouped up in two teams and played for almost 3 hours straight the first time around! It was great to remember some of the answers and to learn others. Now I just have to learn sports a little more ?! ha ha ha. If anyone just wants to have a good time, even if you don't know it all, try this game out. Have a large party at your house and play. I truly believe you'll have a great time !!

Trivia With A Twist - Fun, Fun, Fun
This is a fantastic board game which is a load of fun. What you do is attempt to move through each year of the 80s (1981, 1982, 1983 etc)... although the year is really rather arbitrary. You answer questions and when you land on the "exit the year" space, you are asked a question and must determine whether or not it happened in the year of the space you are on. For example: You might be sitting on 1982 and the question will be "Top Gun was Released in this Year".

The questions are fair, fun, and of a pleasant mix. My wife and I enjoy playing this game even alone.... so it is fun for 2 or more.

From a person with a collection of 200+ games, I give this game a "Highly Recommend".

not as fun as the reviews make it sound...
I added this item to my wishlist (and received it as a gift) after reading all the positive reviews. But after playing the game with three others, I didn't get a lot out of it. The others who played with me didn't enjoy it, either.

Part of the problem is that I grew up in the 80's, but was probably too young to remember some of the things that happened. (I graduated high school in 1997.) But I also felt that the questions were phrased funny and were hard to read and although the game shouldn't be completely simple, some of the questions were really obscure.

So, if you were teenage or above in the 1980's, go for it. You'll probably enjoy it. But for today's early to mid-twenties crowd, I would recommend that you pass on this one.

A blast from the past
I could not wait to get home to play, and it did not dissapoint. Graduating in the early 80s, I considerd my self a expert. There are great questions, and I learned a few things that I had no idea happend. ... Read more

All of your favorite Disney characters are featured in classic Monopolystyle for a family game that everyone can enjoy. You already know how to play,so nothing has changed--except a few things that actually make this versioncollectible. Solid pewter moving pieces feature Snow White, a coupled Lady & TheTramp, Cinderella, Pinocchio, Dumbo, Alice, and Baboo. Property is representedas a cottage and the Prince's well-known castle. Scrooge McDuck, naturally, isfeatured on all Monopoly money in place of Rich Uncle Pennybags. --DianeBeall ... Read more

A little visit to Disney without leaving home!
This is a wonderful game for the family to play - it's a mental visit to Disney World for all of us. The kids are learning about numbers and money while having fun! Landing on a particular spot, Space Mountain as an example, brings up memories and stories. Our entire family looks forward to playing this version of an all-time classic game!

Greatest version of Monopoly
Disney monopoly is played almost exactly the same way the original Monopoly is. Except instead of the usual car, hat, and iron tokens, there are Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, and Dumbo, etc. And instead of hotels, Cinderella's Castle. The board is much prettier to, you buy movies, instead of properties, and instead of Chance and Community Chest there is Magic Moments and Picture Time. It's a great first Monopoly for kids since they would be much likelier to want to put down $400 for The Lion King, instead of Boardwalk. The one bad thing about the game - wasn't around when I was little.

The MOST requested game at our house!
When ToysRUs had a pre-Christmas sale on games (buy one get one free) I started reading Amazon's reviews. I bought Disney Monopoly based on the reviews here and cannot say THANK YOU enough to all who rated this game highly.

I'm playing it with 3 kids (age 6,7,8) and they are learning a TON about counting money and adding/subtracting. They all want to be the banker and I've told them they can as soon as they can make change well.

The board is wonderful and child appealing. The play is fast paced and engrossing. Kids just LOVE buying anything Disney. We had tried regular monopoly at our house but it bombed out. I hadn't played since I was a kid and had forgotten that Monopoly actually has A LOT of rules. The kids are all learning them though through the Disney version.

Another reviewer had said it would be a good game to use to teach 5-8 yr olds how to play Monopoly. Originally I had thought "naaa--they won't get it" but its TRUE! I am amazed.

In an age where I detest many of the "new" games this one is a great twist on an old favorite. HIGHLY recommended.

p.s. The only negative I have is that when we went to open the board up it was really tough. It turned out that someone at the factory (or some machine I guess) got GLUE happy and when we did get it opened up there were small tears in the board from the glue sticking. I have emailed Hasbro about this but haven't received an answer but I expect them to replace the board.

Simply elegant
Monopoly! One of the greatest board games ever made. This special Disney edition makes the game much more interesting. You can buy properties from many different Disney movies and build cottages on them. The cottages are from the white rabbit in Alice in Wonderland. The other exiting feature is the replacement of the original hotel with the enchanted Disney castle. The board is shiny and has almost all of your favorite Disney characters. The movers are all very shiny and beatifully made. There is Pinnochio, Peter Pan, Alice, Aurora, Mowgli, Lady and Tramp, Dumbo, and so many other pieces. The Disney edition could also be very educational for young kids ranging from 5 to 8 years old. They will learn Monopoly and have fun with all of the properties and characters from their favotite Disney movies. If you like Monopoly and you love the enchantment of Disney, then you will absolutely love this edition of Monopoly. BUY IT! You'll love it and have fun with your friends and family and if your a collector, buy it and add it to your collection. HAVE FUN!!!!

This is so awesome!
I just love this monopoly board because of its colors and also because of its game pieces. It is very enjoyable to play this with young children because it will keep them interested, including all the adults. ... Read more

Gross & Tons of Fun!
Not for the squeamish, that is for sure! I played this once at a party and just had to have it for myself. The challenge cards are repetitive, but how the challenges work out is really designed by the people playing the game. No challenge is alike, even though the structure may be set up the same way. In other words, some cards have the exact same instructions on them, but for each player or each turn that a challenge card is picked, the turnout is different. It would have been nice to have each one be a new and different challenge though.

Overall, I found this game to be a ton of fun, completely disgusting and worth every penny! LOL It's not like any other game and it isn't boring. I'm glad I searched for it!

Great Fun!
Sometimes disgusting, sometimes shocking, but competely fun! I couldn't believe some of the things my husband would rather do. This game is simple and had us all laughing (and squirming) for hours! ... Read more

Editorial Review

Baby boomers and Gen Xers who are stumped by questions in the main edition of Trivial Pursuit may find this SNL Edition right up their alley. This edition follows the premise of the original game, where players roll the die and move around the board answering trivia questions to score a "wedge" of a pie. The object is to score a wedge from each of the six category areas to complete the pie and win the game. However, the less dry SNL Edition requires players to answer questions about the Emmy-award winning late-night show Saturday Night Live rather than testing their knowledge of random factoids. Players can choose from eight different playing pieces, which are cleverly shaped as some of the most recognizable comedic characters on the show, such as Molly Shannon playing Mary Katherine Gallagher, Dan Ackroyd as a Conehead, or John Belushi as the Samurai Deli owner. The game includes over 2,000 questions in six different category areas, which includes 450 interactive questions located on the accompanying DVD. This game makes for a hilarious night of reliving favorite sketches, impressions, and mock commercials from this 30-season show. --Cristina Vaamonde ... Read more

Better than the Original
I bought Disney Sorry for my son last Christmas. He was 6 at the time. It was a big hit as he is a big Disney fan. I grew up playing the orginal Sorry, and enjoy this version much more. It's the same game, but the Disney Characters make it more fun for some reason. We are still playing with it a year later and it is in good condition.

Great Game!
I would recommend this game to any one that likes the orignal Sorry game. A few tips though, to make the characters stay on thier stands I would recommend a drop of glue, and play it on a smooth sturdy surfaces as the game pieces can be tippy.

Worth your valuable time...
I've never been a big fan of the game "Sorry!" I found it a little boring... maybe it's because I had my own copy of "Trouble" and "Sorry!" seemed like a scaled-down version. (Not really sure, to be honest...) Disney, however, actually made the game fun for me. I'm a 32-year-old Dad and my daughter is 6. She loves it and I really don't mind playing it with her two or three times in a row.

Disney has taken the original rules and developed some special cards that benefit each color. First let me explain a bit about the game itself...
The Blue character plays "The Heroes" -- Buzz Lightyear, Tarzan, Peter Pan, and Hercules.
The Red character is "The Villains" (usually ME) -- Cruella, Hook, Hades, and Malificent.
Yellow, "The Princesses" (usually my daughter) -- Snow White, Cinderella, Ariel, and Toy Story's Jessie (!?!? - even my 6-year old knows -- "Jesse isn't a PRINCESS!")
Green, "Animal Stars" -- Pooh, Dumbo, young Simba, and Bambi
The board looks great, the artwork is fun, and it's all very Disney-esque.

Special cards -- there are certain cards, when you draw them, that allow you to do special things IF you happen to be the matching color on the card. If you are blue and draw a blue three, you have the option of drawing the next three cards and picking the one you want to use. If you draw a green eight and you are green, you have the option of moving TWO characters 8 spaces. A matching 12 in your color will send one of your tokens (the one furthest along) HOME safe. There are more, but hopefully you get the idea.

My daughter is 6, but seems able to grasp all the rules and has great fun teaching her friends to play. As far as the cardboard characters coming of the bases is concerned, we haven't really had that problem. I'm not sure why - maybe we just push them into the bases harder than some of the other folks here that have posted reviews.

Anyway, my advice: a great game for parents to play with the kids. Just remember, you don't HAVE to TRY and win! :)

Fun
My daughter loves the characters so it was nice to get a Disney Sorry game. However, the playing pieces are the type of cardboard that fit into the plastic slots. :P The characters would come out of the plastic parts every time we moved them. I finally put a small piece of tape at the bottom to make sure it would stay put.

Interesting Twist
I love Disney. I love the game "Sorry!". So I figured if they combined these two, it would be a great game! I received it for Christmas and as soon as I got it, opened the box and started setting up the game.

It is very similar to the classic "Sorry!" but with a harder to interpret board (very nice graphic use, but harder on the eyes than the standard), harder to move pieces (they are very large and the stands fall off of the cardboard bases very easily) and of course, variations on characters and cards.

I love the characters and how they seperated them (Heros, Villains, Girls, Animals) and the overall concept idea of the board and pieces is wonderful, but as cute as it is to look at, I would much rather play the original game, with a simple design that keeps the game fun and easy :)

The coolest additional feature to the game would be extra "actions" on the cards, such as: If you are a green character, you can move your leading piece to Home or move forward 8 spaces. (May not be exact phrasing on cards, but you catch my drift). It makes it interesting because you never know if you get a special bonus :)

All-in-all, I give this game 3 1/2 stars - At least 3 because it's "Sorry!", which is one of my all-time favorite board games; and also because it's Disney! However, functionality and durability leave something to be desired.. ... Read more

FUN GAME
THIS GAME IS SO FUN...MY FAMILY (PARENTS IN THEIR 50S, KIDS IN THEIR LATE 20S) LOVES IT! WE PLAYED IT DURING THE HOLIDAYS AND HAD FUN REMEMBERING TV RERUNS, GREAT SONGS AND MOVIES...I RECOMMEND IT

disco fever all over again!
you've got to get this game -- having spent the majority of my twenties living in the decade that brought us disco, this game really brought us back in time. the questions were really challenging, interesting and the best thing about is that there are so many questions that i'm sure we'll enjoy this game for quite a while. i would recommend this game to anyone who grew up in the 70's or anyone who is just plain nostalgic of this magicial decade. now that i found it, i think it might be showing up under a few trees of my friends and family this season! enjoy!

perfect for a night with old friends
I had some old high school friends over for dinner and wine. I had found the 70's game the week before and thought it would be a perfect after dinner activity. We all loved it and were surprised at how much we could remember!!! We've decided to have our next dinner party be a 70's theme and dress accordingly and play the game again.

interesting trivia questions...
Played this game with my parents and their friends and it was a hoot. The questions ranged from fairly easy to tough, but everyone knew something. One cool thing about this game is that every question pertains to a specific year (e.g. Q: This actor first stars as Re-run on What's Happening? A: Fred Berry - 1976) Trying to remember when things happened during the 1970s was challenging (although the game doesn't ask you to name exact years). I would recommend this game for playing in a group.

Gimme a friggin break this game is money
If you like trivia games and you are a fan of the 70's, this game is pure genius! Since I suck at pop culture, this game made me feel incredibly stoopid--but even total morons like me can totally enjoy the game. The best is the music category--the questions will have you singing the tunes all night long... Get it done--whatever it takes. ... Read more

REMEMBERING THE GOOD TIMES!
We had the pleasure of playing FOR THE RECORD 80's-90's with some family and friends. We played using teams to try to pool our knowledge. The packaging and graphics are very well done. It has a double-necked guitar game path covered with 80's-90's images. You feel like you've gone back in time. The multiple choice format was very helpful as some of our memories aren't what they used to be. One of the teams chose not to use the multiple choice answers on their turns for an extra challenge. The categories are "80's","90's", "Mosh Pit", "You're On Stage" and the toughest ones, "One Hit Wonder" and "Real Name". We had fun because the game requires a mix of luck and skill. The questions range from easy to very difficult, so there was something for everybody. Nobody felt left out! We played three times that night averaging about 45-50 minutes per game (with alot of singing and air guitar thrown in). Our place was rockin' and we can't wait to play again. WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS GAME!!!

Way to Easy
Maybe I know way to much about music and if you are like me do NOT buy this game. It is way to easy. The questions were not challenging at all. 4 of us played and we finished in about 15 minutes. For real music fans this game is terrible. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME.

Trivial pursuit of 1980's & 90's songs
Looking for a fun game that covers the broad spectrum of music from the 1980s-1990s? Here it is!

You get 600 music trivia question cards with multiple choice answers. The questions cover everything from rap to reggae, alternative to country, pop to punk and more. The game board looks like an electric guitar and features a mosh pit, and many of the questions are injected with humor, so it's a real attention-grabber at parties. The multiple choice format makes the game challenging enough for trivia buffs, yet equally fun for people who simply love music. We are a pretty hardcore group of fans of eighties music, so we made the game even more difficult by not offering the multiple choice answers. You can involve as many people as you want to if you make teams. You can have four players or teams altogether. Depending on how much time you spend talking and laughing, one game can take about 45 minutes to an hour to play. For the Record is a great way to get friends and family to hang out and have a totally awesome time reminiscing and remembering. ... Read more

Favorite game!
I gave this game to my grandson for his birthday. Recently, we went to school for Grandparent's Day. There was a list of questions to ask the grandchild, including what is his favorite game. He immediately said "Dogopoly." His sister later gave the same answer. They have a lot of games, but they play this one often! Thanks!
