My 2 year old LOVES this toy!
Last Christmas I brought this toy for my 2 year old son and he LOVES it! The lights and sounds give him the real feeling of being the driver of the truck. He's had this toy for 11 months now and so far nothing has broken and the paint has not chipped. It still looks like new. I am so impressed that I am also going to buy him the lights and sound fire engine. This toy was well worth the money!

Grandson LOVES This Toy
While my almost-3-year-old grandson and I were opening the box, Jacob was already looking for the buttons to press on this tow truck. He loves the sounds! Then I explained to him the tow truck's job -- to help cars that can't "go" anymore. This truck will take the broken-down car to a garage to get fixed. So, we found a little car he hooked onto the tow truck. Right now, he's learning how to work the winch. And, the lights on this toy are VERY impressive! I told him this truck is not afraid of the dark. It has to help people all day and all night long. Last, but not least, we put M&M candy in the "secret compartment" in case SOMEONE got hungry while on the job. Great toy! Loads of fun! Well made, very colorful, not too heavy.

Keep on truckin? Nah, keep on towing!
We wanted to buy our son a new toy so I took him to the toy store and asked him what he wanted. Immediately he went for the tow truck (he had been talking about it for a week). There were probably 4 or 5 to choose from, but he was instantly captivated by this one. There are buttons to press that simulate the engine cranking, wench winding, etc. And if you're like me, the batteries are easy to remove - and to put back in. The only thing that wasn't that durable was the string and plastic hook that you could use to tow another toy. Can't Imagine Not Having the Battery Powered Engine
Word to the wise ... use a new battery. The engine has a hard time pulling the coal car on the hills without a strong battery.

My nephew loved playing with the train set. I purchased the figure 8 set, along with the bay bridge and some additional tracks ... and I still wanted more! He seemed to be thrilled with what he had.

He even used his Lego cars to drive on the ground over the railroad tracks. I can't wait until Christmas so I can buy him some additional sets to connect to this one. ... Read more

I Used To Like Hot Wheels Tracks
We've had hours of fun as the 3rd users of a basic Hot Wheels track set. So when I bought this toy for my son, I couldn't believe this Hot Wheels track can't attach to the rest of the track. It's stand alone and just goes round & round & round ... My son was bored after 6 goes but we're still pulling the old track out and reconnecting it all around the house in new ways every time

biggest waste of money
this was the biggest waste of money i have ever spent on a toy for my son. First of all it falls apart constantly. It is also dangerous with the cars flying off the track constantly. I would not recommend this product for anyone with a young child or even an older one.

fast fun
My grandson loved this toy. The only educational value is getting the car to start off right, but the whole purpose of this toy is to have FUN, and he did. The cars really go very, very fast. It is a bit loud and when the cars fall off they come off at high speed. He's only 3 and he was able to get the cars on the track after a couple tries, now he does it everytime. You may want to supervise due to the high speed of this toy. The cars didn't break even at the high speed ejection.

Lasting Fun
We've had this toy for a year now and it still gets play. It is very durable and we've had no problems with the track staying together with the exception of the lava ball at the base. The lava ball is not well designed and we quit using it almost immediately. It was no big loss. The cars fly around the track with incredible speed. We've never used the net. While some reviewers find the cars flying off the track to be frightening, it is our favorite feature of the toy. It doesn't work well with cars other than those that came with the set so we've had to keep track of those two cars. It is also very noisy. Within these confines, it's a great track. ... Read more

A Great Buy
Duncan is one of the little engines but his train shows him just as big as Thomas or Percy. These are great for little kids becasue you pull the trains by yourself without the use of any batteries. Great but I wish these weren't so expensive.

the only toy played by my toddler for ever
I can only say the thomas tank engine series is the only one my toddler plays for ever and again and again for the last few years, and for the future year as well, I believe. It worths the expensive money.

THOMAS & FRIENDS ARE GREAT!
Like the other reviews I have written, we feel that ALL of the Thomas & Friends toys (engines, cars, track & accessories) are excellent. Yes, you can find cheaper items as Thomas things can get a little pricey, but it last and last. I hope to pass my boys stuff onto their children. The Thomas story line is pure. No junk going into our little ones heads from Thomas and NO BATTERIES REQUIRED! No lights, annoying sounds or running the batteries down. We LOVE Thomas in our home.

Age Recommendation is 18 months - great for little ones!
I'm not sure why Amazon has their age recommendation set at age 4, but I bought this for my son at age 2 and he just LOVES it! He carries this thing around the house all the time, puts all his cars, stuffed animals, etc. in the trailer and pushes them for a "ractor ride." It's a bunch of fun to run this tractor over a large 8 cu. yard pile of dirt, load up the trailer, and off you go. It washes so easily and is just a bunch of fun for my little guy. You just can't go wrong with the durability and the fun factor on this one.

My 18 mth old son likes tractors
My 18th mth son loves tractors but he gets frustrated when the trailer comes loose from the tractor so easily (it does). I wish the trailer snapped into place behind the tractor. My son still carries the tractor around but hardly plays with the trailer.....

Cute child's truck
My son got this truck for his first birthday and loves it. It is a great first truck for young children. The handle is a little big, but he doesn't seem to have much trouble picking up the truck. Also it is light enough that the few times he has dropped the truck it has not hurt him (despite being dropped, the truck has held up very well).
It is so popular we are seriously considering getting a few more of the trucks in this line. In all a great toy!!

Sonny Semi by Little Tikes (Handle Haulers)
My son received this truck for his first birthday. He loves it, and enjoys filling it and then emptying it. It is also easy for him to roll it to dad. I would highly recommend this handle hauler!

A fat lip and bloody nose from a seemingly cute &simple toy.
My son recieved this handle hauler for his 1st birthday. I think it's adorable. However, that evening he reached for it and grabbed the back end. It flipped up and gave him a fat lip. He has barely payed attention to it since until this evening when he reached for it and it flipped up to give him a bloody nose! Like I said, seems like a simple toy but the design has a flaw. Maybe it is just better for older children.

Great toy for our little boy!
My son loves trucks and we purchased this one for Christmas so he could have his very own big truck. He plays with it almost daily and loves to have the man that comes with it drive all 3 vehicles. The only downside to this is that our son has a difficult time putting the guy into the track cab. There are no doors to open which I think make this a plus on the durability side but make it harder for little hands to manuever him through a window. A great bargain for the price and you get 3 working vehicles.

we bought this very durable toy for our active 18 mo old about three years ago since then we have added a beautiful girl who is nearly three and they both love it.Little tikes has never disappointed and this item is no different it is even strong enough for them to ride on and they do all over the house

Parents of a truck lover
We bought this for our 2 yr old son because a friend had an older version of this toy that he loved. The older version was larger and the semi truck could disconnect from the trailer. My son didn't like this toy as well since it was connected and a smaller version. He played with it until we were given the older version. He still plays with the cars that came with it. We sent the truck to his grandparents house were it hopefully gets more play time when he visits.

Great Toy / Great Fun!
My two year old son received this toy for his birthday. He has loved it since the moment he opened it. It is so durable, he is able to ride on it himself. It comes with two very cool vehicles to transport and a figurine to drive the hauler. It is great fun and well worth the money!

Go Douglas
Douglas is a good engine and this one is a great buy for your money. The magnets work very well and they don't come apart in a second like some other toys do. Douglas would not be complete without his twin Donald. These toys are very durable and kids can play with them for hours.

Douglas is another in the fine line of Thomas the Tank Engine trains, and he upholds the tradition of fun, educational learning for children. Douglas has sleek black paint, a smiling face, and a large coal car that my son enjoys very much. Douglas has been an excellent addition to my son's Thomas collection. He is built strong for hours of use. Purchase Douglas or any of the fine Thomas trains. They are worth the money and your children will love them.

I noticed the numbers on all the engines so I bought this one so I could make it so my son could count the engines from 1-10. This is number 10. Only the coal cars are marked.

Durability
I have found that in a very very short time after purchase, the paint on all the Thomas & Friends trains I have purchased has badly chipped off. One would think for the price you pay the paint would last. Iwould recommend the age group to begin at at least 3, if not later asI do not think children any younger can appreciate the fact that thesetoys cannot be dropped into the storage box or anywhere without thepaint chipping off. I wish Learning Curve would use a more durablepaint, especially for the price of the trains and the fact that the company is appealing to children (only) 24 months and older! Further, the battery operated Thomas and Percy engines are difficult to turn off and on and also the paint chips off very quickly. I even had to return the battery operated Thomas soon after purchase as the screw to the battery compartment stripped and therefore I could no longer keep the compartment closed. With children who do not know to always turn the engines off when finished, the batteries are changed often and the compartment must be durable. Again for the price, one would think it could be more durable and perhaps have an autostop function (turns off after a few minutes of non-use)as with the Brio super red locomotive for the same price. ...
