Editorial Review

Ker-pow! A whopping 42 inches tall, with four levels, this Batcave is accessible through a secret door behind the entertainment center in Bruce Banner's swank penthouse. A transformation elevator converts Banner into the Caped Crusader; from there, he can slide down the Batpole to a bungee drop or a missile launcher that jets out from the cave. Most notable are the remote landing platforms, connected to the cave by cords and pulleys that stick easily to bedroom windows thanks to adhesive strips. Off another landing hangs a net for catching bad guys. It takes up a lot of space, but it's a fun, ingenious toy with lots of bells and whistles. --Andy Boynton ... Read more

Disappointing when unmasked
I found this toy very disappointing. The packaging means that you can't see Leia's face before you buy, and despite other reviewers, I and a friend who collects Carrie Fisher stuff both felt that the face didn't look like her, AND wasn't particularly interesting. A bad combination.

If you want her as this disguised figure, the clunky permanent-glove hands won't bother you, but those of us who like to do some customizing prefer figures that we can make other outfits for, and the gloves are a problem. Like a Barbie, she comes with the hidden broad-arrow neck designed to break rather than be removable, which doesn't help.

As for the Solo in Carbonite: bleh. Vague abstract glows that you could pretend are him if you care enough, but when I sold a couple of these figures loose, people wouldn't take the Carbonite Solo display even as a gift.

So. If you just want her to look like she does in the box, the figure's probably fine. But unmasked, she's not even worth it at the sale price, to my taste.

12'' Leia
I think this Leia is great. I am a big Star Wars fan and I have been looking for somthing like this for a while. I really like Leia's face. It accually looks like Carrie Fisher. The 12" Padme doll doesn't look anything like Natlie Portman. All and all I really enjoy this doll

A Super Collector's Item
This is one of the best two (2) pack's that Hasbro has put out to date. I would strongly recomend it to all, collector's and
kid's as a play toy. The packaging has great art work depicting
Jabba's Throne Room, where Boussh "Leia" tride to free Han Solo.
I my self have two of them, one in the box for display and one for my kid's to play with they love it, my son and daughter. So
if you have a Star Wars fan in your life get this set for them you can't go wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When Dealing With Hutts
When dealing with a Hutt, one needs to bring more to barter with besides the simple press of currency and a mind rich with intrigue. An even temper is something that works well in these cases sometimes, a few bargaining chips that the Hutt can't seem to live without in others, a vessel by which to make a hasty retreat can keep the odds a bit more on the bargainees side, and a good Bounty Hunter disguise is something that works if you need employment to go with that. Still, when your life and the life of the person you is on the line and you don't want to end up on the platter of a Rancor, its always good to bring a secret scent of something like, I don't know, portable bomb interaction to the table as well. Ask a certain princess because she can attest to that well.

Within the confines of this 12" Boushh figure captured from the realms The Return of the Jedi, there are many pros and cons that plead the figures case slightly but that make this something unworthy of purchase in others. This is a disturbing fact when you break them down, too, because Boushh would be nice to own in "its" greatness. Still, the reason I wouldn't suggest going on the quest of obtaining and the highpoints are as follows:
First, there is the problem I have with the packaging, a detail which I find myself absolutely hating and stunned by. The reason I say this is because its so simplistic, not capturing any scenes from the movie and showcasing a setting by which to refresh the mind at all. Perhaps this isn't something that many people care about and that I would forgive in most cases, but the utter lack of concern for a nice encasing merits my anger herein.

Second, on the figure itself, the Bouschh disguise looks pretty nice, with the helmet capturing the adornment element in a nice way and the outfit doing wonders in the "completing the image" department. The addition of a little handheld bundle of explosive love was also nice to have, as was the weapon that can be seen gracing the figures hands. Still, the gloves of the outfit were painted onto the arms instead of being loosely crafted editions and the helmet, when removed, reveals a beast I like to call Leia-Barbie that seems to scare my other Bounty Hunters. Yes, you can somewhat see Her Highness in the face looking out toward its consumer, but you can also see the look of many and many a Barbie doll captured in the vacancies of her grinning, almost mocking, expression. This is horrible in many a right and, to me, a nasty blackmark against the product because I have to leave the helmet on all the time unless my Rancor needs something to chew on.

Lastly, there's the "Carbonite Solo" that I wanted as an addition to my Boba Fett 12" figure, but that I found completely disappointing. Basically, its a piece of plastic encasing a slow lighting mechanism which makes a silhouette of Han glow slightly when pressed. It has to be dark in a room to get it to do so, though, and the image is a faint, almost unrecognizable thing. That's because not only is it this basic, but it is also a flat beast without any Han pressing outward, devoid of that horrified expression peaking out from what Jabba thought would make good wall art for his palace to entertain myself with.

If you must buy this then you must buy it, but be warned ahead of time that you might find some of these thing disappointing. I say this because I had looked forward to it for quite some time and found myself frowning, something that not even a little dance from my buddy, S. Crumb, could drown out, when I received this piece of coal as a gift. Not recommended.

Double Gretness of Leia
This is a Great adittion to the 12'' Slave Leia With R2-D2, And the 12'' Han Solo with Corbonite Block!! A must have for any Leia or die hard star wars fan!! I Highly recommend this great deal to anyone, and it's only [$$$]!! I absolutely don't believe it!! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Finally, a McFarlane figure of A-Rod wearing pinstripes
This is the third figure of Alex Rodriguez that McFarlante Toys has put out, but the big difference is that this time he is wearing the pinstripes of the New York Yankees.Threes are sort of wild with this figure since not only is it the third figure, but A-Rod now plays third base and wears #13 for the Bronx Bombers (he wore #3 in the past, but that is not possible when you wear pinstripes). The first Rodriguez figure was part of MLB Series 2 and showed him finishing his swing for the Texas Rangers, while the second figure had him going for a group ball as part of MLB Series 8.This third 6-inch figure has A-Rod getting ready to swing at a pitch and the nice touch is the front foot being slightly off the ground as he gets ready to drive the ball (it looks better from head-on or from the backside than it does from the front).

Alex Rodriguez is apparently much more comfortable playing with the Yankees in this second season after he and his massive contract ($22 million a year) were traded by the Rangers for second baseman Alfonso Soriano and a player to be named later. At this point in the 2005 season the Yankees have played 41 games, which would roughly be a fourth of the season, and A-Rod leads the majors with 14 home runs and 41 runs batted in (mostly batting 5th).That would translate into 56 home runs and 164 runs batted in over a whole season, which would meet the expectations of most Yankee fans (and maybe even of George Steinbrenner, but I do not want to go out on a limb).Rodriguez turns 30 on July 27th and since he is only five shy of the mark he should have over 400 career home runs by that time.Yankee Stadium is, of course, built for left-handed power hitters, but right now it does not seem to be hurting A-Rod.Having been considered the greatest hitting shortstop of all-time when he played for Seattle and Texas, the question is now how long it will take for him to surplant Mike Schmidt as the greatest hitting third baseman of all-time.

McFarlane's MLB Series 11 has the second figures for Ken Griffey, Jr. of the Cincinnati Reds, Mark Prior of the Chicago Cubs, Mike Piazza of the New York Mets, and American League M.V.P. Vladimir Guerrero of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim (or however that goes).Getting their first figures are Roy Hallady of the Toronto Blue Jays, Bill Wagner of the Philadelphia Phillies, and Johnny Damon of the Boston Red Sox (setting a record for most hair on a McFarlane baseball figure). ... Editorial Review

We imagine that constantly traveling via slung web from one skyscraper to another can get a little tiring for our old friend Spiderman. When he feels like moving about in a bit more luxury, Spidey prefers this stylish and well-appointed copter. In contrast to its occupant's primarily red attire, the copter is mostly blue with a few red accents here and there. The cockpit easily holds the included five-inch Spiderman figure (or any five inch figure you might have lying around) and there's a heady arsenal of spring-loaded missiles to fire at Green Goblin or whomever is causing trouble in New York. A set of spider legs on the bottom of the copter can grip to capture and hold those very troublemakers. The missiles and grippers are activated by a trigger on the sizable handle underneath the craft. While one might think the handle would detract from the fantasy of the experience, it's actually a benefit: the copter is easier to manipulate and the copter, free of hands all over it, looks more realistic when being played with. --Charlie Williams ... Return it
This is a terrible toy. The pieces all fall apart and fall off. My son can't play with it without things falling off. Will return this toy,

a huge disappointment
This toy was a terrible disappointment. My 7 yr old got it for Christmas, while it looked promising, it was not. It was very difficult to get open, way too much packaging. The rotor blades do not stay on, the "grabbing" claws do not grab, and while I have never bought a "shooting" toy before, the missles are impossible to load, and if you do get them loaded, they dont shoot. The other missles shoot abot 4 inches, and go off whenever they want, not when you launch them. The "exclusive" spiderman action figure looks just like the other 14 spiderman action figures we already have. This was difinitely not worth the money. I gave this toy 1 star for each category, because there isnt a zero star option. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Thank you Mr. Lucas!
This is a wonderful series of figures. My 4 year old son wants everything star wars and the regular figures and toys are too complex and pose chocking hazzards to his 2 year old sister who wants them too. This new line of toddler toys are wonderful! They are cute and chucky just perfect for little hands and mouths!Luke Skywalker's helmet is even attached by a string. And the light saber actually lights up.My son even gave it the highest toddler honor... he took it to show and tell!Check out the X wing fighter so cute! He loves it!Does anyone out there know where you can find the battleship and the droids? They are sold out everywhere.Thank you Mr. Lucas from a Mommy an artist and a teacher for developing such wonderful thoughtful toys for your littlest of fans.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Star Wars toys for toddlers!
My 3 year old loves this. It's larger than the regular figures and doesn't have any small pieces to get lost. The helmet does fit loosely, but it's attached by two strings on his back, so it never gets lost. The light saber is almost big enough that he can pretend it's a full size one (without hitting anyone or knocking stuff over). It is a little hard to fit in Luke's hand, but he doesn't mind. We also got the X-Wing Fighter, which is also great. These are sturdy toys and should get a lot of use. Can't wait to get some more from this series.

2-0 out of 5 stars frustrating toy
This toy is very frustrating to my 4 and a half year old son.The helmet doesn't fit in such a way that it "snaps" on, it sort of rests over Luke's head and falls off continuously. The light-saber is really cool because it lights up, but it is very difficult for my son to get into Luke's hand. The little space suit that comes with it is just a piece of junk, it doesn't fit his waist properly and snaps off all too easily.I'm frustrated with this toy since I'm constantly having to put the light-saber back in Luke's hand or fix the space suit.My son does enjoy putting him in the X-wing that you can purchase separately, which we bought first. But I wish we had instead bought the smaller model that comes with Luke and R2-D2.That has less parts, would probably be less frustrating for all of us.

5-0 out of 5 stars Like all the 'kiddie' Star Wars toys - great.
Excellent, sturdy and poseable toy.Fits in the large X-wing fighter toy and comes with a light-up lightsaber and some kooky escape pod/helmet accessory.

These toys are wonderful for toddlers.Jointed knees, waists, heads, wrists and fully poseable shoulders allow for quite a bit of expression and variety in play. Will fit with many Rescue Heroes toys and playsetsto boot.

Great toys.Don't miss Darth Vader, the droids or the X-wing and speeder bike.Lots of fun for a little kid or their parents. ... Read more

GRAPPLE
GRAPPLE IS A GREAT ADDITION TO THE ALREADY GREAT GENERATION ONE HASBRO REISSUE LINE. BASICALLY JUST INFERNO REPAINTED BUT THERE ARE SOME DIFFERENCES HERE TOO. INFERNO WAS A FIRE TRUCK AND THIS GUY IS A CRANE TRUCK. HAS A HOOK INSTEAD OF A LADDER. SAME FISTS MISSLES AND GUN AS INFERNO ALSO. A+ ADDITION KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK HASBRO.

TRANSFORMER GRAPPLE
GRAPPLE IS A GREAT ADDITION TO THE ALREADY GREAT TRANSFORMER GENERATION 1 REISSUE LINE FROM TOYS R US. GRAPPLE IS BASICALLY JUST A INFERNO REPAINT WITH A FEW MINOR TWEAKS HERE AND THERE. ONLY THING BAD ABOUT THIS TOY IS HIS GRAPPLE HOOK THAT WON'T STAY IN IT KEEPS SLIDING DOWN. GREAT FIGURE TO GET TO ADD TO YOUR COLLECTION. HASBRO GIVE US SUNSTREAKER, SOUNDWAVE AND HIS CASSETES, STUNTICONS, CONSTRUCTICONS, DINOBOTS, BLASTER AND HIS CASSETES,BUMBLEBEE,MIRAGE,IRONHIDE,RATCHET,WHEELJACK,SKY LYNX, SPRINGER,FORTRESSMAXIMUS,METROPLEX,GALVATRON,CYCLONUS,SCOURGE, OMEGA SUPREME,TECHNOBOTS,PROTECTOBOTS AND TRAILBREAKER PLEASE. ALL OF US FANS NEED IT. OTHER THAN THAT GREAT JOB HASBRO.

Grapple
I think that Grapple is great! I think that he is pretty durable because he once rolled down the stairs, and I found him in a jumble but there was not a scratch on him.

Grapple is great for displaying and also pretty good for playing with.

Look familiar?
Does Grapple look familiar? He should- he shares most of his parts (including the head) with G1 Inferno; therefore much of my review for Inferno also applies here. This isn't neccesarily a good thing. That means mostly plastic construction and flaky chrome. Grapple has an additional demerit in the fact that he replaces Inferno's tight, telescoping ladder with a crane that loosely moves in and out- meaning it just kind of hangs down in robot mode and does not keep its place in vehicle mode. Again, I'll have to say not to buy this or any other G1 reissue for anyone who isn't a collector due to fragility issues.

Cool for collector but a redundent model.
I finally got a character that is an architect. Who would know that 18 years after I saw Grapple on the cartoon series that I would be an architect too. I have the same feelings about building as being an artwork, like Grapple. I am glad that Hasbro is releasing the classic G1 transformers, but they should try and release more interesting characters, different design then the similar one.

Oh man, the Autobots for the 6th commemorative series are all clone and redundant model of other characters. What is the different between Grapple and Inferno, beside one is a construction crane and the other is a fire truck, not much. One is red and the other is yellow. One has a crane and the other has a latter. They are really milking us and they know who the target market is.

But, if you don't have Inferno, Grapple is also well designed, looks pleasing, and a great Autobot. He is maded mostly of plastic. He is very easy to transform and is one of the taller Autobot (5.5"to 6" in robot mode). His crane is functional and he can actually stand up.

I recommend getting the earlier Commemorative Series model over Grapple. Grapple is a lot better then Rodimus Prime, I got the Taraka's Rodimus Prime and that is an awful design/toy.

I live in S. California and I can get the Takara's Decepticon (Soundwave, Astrotrain), but it is even steeper. ... Read more

Holey rusted metal, Batman!
WOW! My younger brothers got this quite a few years ago, and the older version has different colors, but is exactly the same otherwise. This toy is amazingly fun! The chair and computer console, and the tank, all come off easily, so that was frustrating, but otherwise, all was great!

My brothers, as avid Batman fans and collectors, had a blast dropping Robin from the fall-in "glass" ceiling on the front of the mansion. The computer and it's chair are especially fun to play with. What seems to fuel a lot of imagination is the closet next to the computer screens. It can be rotated so that you put Batman in, turn it, and open the door to see Batman GONE! Whoa, right? The entire mansion itself can be collapsed, which is nice for travel to Grandma's or to the living room.

This toy supplies lots of fun, whether you like Batman or not!

Batcave
Great toy! My son got this toy several years ago, and he still plays with it frequently. It comes with the Alfred figure which you can't get anywhere else. It is also designed to work with the Shadowcast Batmobile, which just means the the Batmobile can drive through one of the walls--it just tilts up and the Batmobile goes under. My son didn't like that Batmobile because Robin couldn't ride with Batman, but the one designed for both figures is HUGE!!! It is durable, but the tank that comes off for the figures to fall in from the balcony gets harder and harder to get back on. ... Read more
