Star wars FUN for little ones
This is a brilliant toy.My 2 year old loves it.IT is not complicated, it doesn't make any noise, it is big enough for a toddler to handle but still offers action play. I think it is a great attempt at introducing toddlers to STAR WARS without it being a stuffed EWOK. I love Star Wars and I am thrilled to be able to share it with my children. My four year old likes this toy as well, so I think it will have a longer life span than most toddler toys. I also feel it appeals to boys and girls in that it is not designed in a gender specific way, as so many things are.YOu will be pleasantly surprised at its appeal and durability.This was a gift but I can see buying more in this series- check out the R2D2 and CSPO- they look awesome. This is not one of those el cheapo plastic Transformers; it’s high quality, metal, and collectible, with superb details and sturdy construction. Even old people (such as this reviewer) who aren’t exactly big Transformers fans can’t help but marvel at the ingenious design that allows a sleek sports car to become, with the right sequence of folds and flips, a ferocious towering robot. Pllantides, the command of Conan's Black Dragons
McFarlane Toys has put together characters from Robert E. Howard's only Conan novel "Hour of the Dragon" (a.k.a. "Conan the Conqueror" to those of us who read the Lancer paperbacks with the Frank Frazetta covers as our introduction to the character) for the second series of Conan action figures. The story is of Conan when he is the middle-aged king of the ancient kingdom of Aquilonia who has to fight a final battle against Xaltotun, a resurrected sorcerer.But while armies are clashing Conan has to find the fabled Heart of Ahriman to defeat his enemy.He also meets a slave girl in Nemedia that he will make queen of Aquilonia. But while Conan is going after the Heart he needs somebody to command his army in his absence.

This 6" figure is of Pallantides of the Black Dragon, Conan's field commander in the Aquilonian army.He is shown in full battle armor, including a shield, and is about to draw his sword (there is also a the ruins of a small column as the base).If you want to pass him off for a Roman or Greek warrior you will be able to get away with it.This figure actually makes the character look a lot stronger than he did in the novel, where Pallantides had a tendency to be a bit subservient (much was made of the fact that Pallantides was a civilized man and had trouble understanding Conan given the rather interesting route by which the Cimmerian came to the throne of Aquilonia).Howard may or may not have gotten the name from Greek mythology, where the Pallantides were the people that Theseus defeated right before the decided to go to Crete and stop the sacrifice of Athenian youths to the Minotaur.

Series II includes the King Conan of Aquilonia on his throne that is pretty much the last shot we have of the character in the "Conan the Barbarian" film (admit it, this is the one you want the most) and Battle Conan (a.k.a. Conan the Warrior). The rest of Series II consists of Zenobia, the dancing girl and Conan's future queen; Xaltotun the Undead, the skeletal sorcerer; and the Man-Eating Haunter of the Pits. This last one explains why Battle Conan is suspended in the air on a really long support peg, because the base of this figure connects with Haunter of the Pits to form an interactive diorama.You can have Pallantides going after Xaltotun, but it would not be an "official" diorama.

Best of the Best
This action figure is superb in detail as well as quality. The figure really brings you face to face with the Conan legend and really stirs the imagination to visualize heroic battle scenes where the battle prowess of this warrior, along with that of Conan, will really make the difference. This is part of a series of detailed, diorama-like environments based on locations from the Simpsons television series. This Moe’s Tavern, like all the environments, is designed to interact with Simpson figures: when you stand them in various spots around the environment, thanks to the Intelli-Tronic Voice Activation System, they speak lines of dialogue. The Duff Man figure included with this environment, for example, cries out "Are you ready to get Duffed?" when you put his foot over just the right spot behind the bar. There are two other "talking points" in the bar that prompt other lines. The tavern itself is detailed, right down to the beer spout and television mounted in the corner (tuned to a channel showing that Mexican bee guy.)The Duff Man comes with cans of Duff mounted all around his belt, can move his arms up and down, swivel his neck, and grip the included mug of frosty brew. The Best Simpsons Toy Out There (FOR ADULTS!!!)
My husband and I LOVE the Simpsons. This show is not necessarily for kids and I don't think it is marketed for young kids. It DOES NOT promote drinking or alcoholism. If you've ever seen the episode with Duff Man featured, you'll know that Barney wasn't drinking because he was the designated driver that night. Simpsons is an intelligent cartoon for adults. Duff Man is a fun character is that off the charts. If you love Moe's, you need this toy for your collection. (Parents need to understand that just because it's a cartoon doesn't always mean it's for kids' viewing! Ex: South Park!!)

Show the Drunkards Love Not Motherly War
Anyone with an ounce of brain KNOWS that this collectible is NOT for children and has real arrogance to post a review shunning Moe's bar for having "adult-like" humor. If your so worried about having your child exposed to alcoholism then here's a suggestion: dont buy this product. It's not like your child, who is banned from watching the Simpson's anyway, will single-handedly go out of his/her way to get this product. If anything..Moe's bar demotes alcohol..with it's trashy/unkempt look and sarcastic remarks pointing to the nastiness of the place. You worrying babblers are not in control of society or how "open" other parents are to their children. The Simpsons and this toy are not harming society, they arent causing kids to take up drinking..they are bringing laughs to Simpsons fans and collectors everywhere. I am 13, my brother is 10, and my parents watch the Simpsons with us. We've started a new tradition of putting up the different Simpson toy environments and decorating our little Springfield with Christmas trees and lights every Christmas. It brings our family closer together..and that is of course what matters..Right?

The Worst Toy Idea Ever!
When I first came across this offering I thought it was a joke. What kind of person would promote this product--certainly not a parent trying to raise a responsible and thoughtful child.
I have an idea--how about a drunk tank to put li'l Homer in after his DUI conviction, or maybe an emergency room for when he blacks out and crashes his car!

Not helping society...
How amazing is it that a toy promotes the humor of drinking? Nothing good ever comes from alcohol, and that message is not being made by such a toy. I used to enjoy the Simpson's but I would NEVER allow my child to watch it, partly because of the Bar scenes and poor examples elsewhere in its humor. Kids are not capable of viewing that humor and NOT seeing it as a role model for what to do in life, and we ALL (whether we have kids or not) need to take responsbility in this realiziation.
Now, a play action toy comes out and some think it is OK because it wasn't really MEANT for children, yet there is an age 5 and up clearance on it. We need to tell our children to avoid alcohol and all associated with frequenting the bar scene, not market kids and TRAIN them to act out the worst of our society. In my opinion, only a poor parent would buy such a toy for a child. Hey kids..."" ARE YOU READY TO GET DUFFED??!!""

Not marketed to kids.
To the person who was horrified beyond reason that this was marketed to kids, I would like to point out that this playset was not sold to standard toy store retail outlets but was originally released by Playmates as an exclusive to Diamond Select. Diamond Select is a comic distribution outfit that primarily supplies comic book stores and other outlets that primarily target an adult audience.
Playmates did this to avoid kneejerk reactions of purient minds who might beleive that a bar playset should not exist. Come on! It's Moe's Bar, a very frequently used locale from one of the best cartoon shows ever. Collectors have been DYING to get their hands on this! Playmates' fear of reactions like yours are exactly why this almost didn't get release and why this playset costs so much. This same sort of close minded attitude about toys/collectibles is why we'll never see a Balrog figure from the Lord of the Rings movies. I'd like to recommend the Care Bears and My Little Pony playsets for you, instead of looking at a cutting edge license like The Simpsons.
As for why Toys R Us is now carrying this item, I don't know why Diamond Select would basically backstab Playmates original intentions by turning around and selling their specialty store exclusive to a regular family oriented toy store. Nice going guys! ... Read more

Nice Design, but Poor Fit and Extremely Fragile
After waiting for quite some time for this one to hit the streets, I got what I'd been waiting for...the King in full-blown plastic. And while the figure itself looks great and is sturdily built, the stage setting is one of the worst McFarlane toys I've ever purchased.

First, be warned that this is a sculpture, NOT an action figure. He has only a couple of points of articulation, and it's impossible to remove him from the one-foot-on-the-chair pose. Second, be warned that, although there are pegs and holes for each piece to fit into, I broke the chair on mine simply trying to get it into place. After I glued it back together, the big E's foot STILL wouldn't fit on the pegs on the chair, AND his left foot levitated a quarter of an onch off the "stage".

It's sad, really, that after waiting so long, I got the most poorly made toy in the history of McFarlane Toys. Todd, if you're listening, your name used to stand for quality in the greed-soaked toy business. Don't let that rep slip too far. ... Read more

Resembling a beefed-up Hummer, this all-terrain cruiser for Rescue Heroes figures sports a massive green body, jumbo studded tires, and working sirens and lights mounted to the top. A working tow wench rests on the orange front bumper, which is actually the head of a hidden "bumperbot," or robot, attached to the underside of the vehicle. When paired with a Rescue Hero, the robot communicates in English ("The smoke is heavy!"); otherwise, it's reduced to electronic gibberish. The truck is suitable for a variety of rescue missions--the bumperbot's pneumatic handcuffs, for example, can clear trees or pull victims from car wrecks--and would be a dream toy for many kids. A good Joe, all in all
Nice touches: "reversed" American expeditionary flag on right shoulder, subdued 10th Mtn Div patch on left shoulder (but, mysteriously, no "mountain" tab)

Good stuff: it stands easily and securely on the skis without needing external support . Cool accessories: skis, poles, M4, canteen, bayonet with scabbard, utility belt, white cold-weather boots, and O.D knit cap. This Joe comes with a "muscle torso" and molded black fingerless gloves -- which, combined with the baggy white drawstring trousers that look a lot like karate pants, makes 10th Mtn Div Joe good for martial arts dioramas, too!

Minor disappointments: the remainder of the accessories consisted of 2 M-16 ammo pouches, 2 field dressing pouches, and a rucksack that doesn't have suspenders. What's up with that? If he's going to come with TA-50, he might as well have the suspenders so it will all fit on him.

It's great that GI Joe is honoring the 10th Mtn Div, especially with their...service in Afghanistan...

They should have stayed with the other guy
I am a fan of GI Joes. This figure comes with an M4 assault rifle with RIS Integrated Rail System and an M68 sight, which is the same as the one that comes with the old 10th Mountain Division Echo figure I have.
In Christmas 2002 I got the 10th Mountain Division Echo figure, which is the same figure, for the same price, but with a lot more accesories. In 2002 it was taken off the shelves due to lack of interest. The Echo figure comes with both full Woodland AND Overwhite camo BDUs. The Echo figure also comes with a VERY nice webbing set, PASGT helmet with a white cover (which is NOT supposed to come off, believe me), gas mask, and the skis that come with ths Elite figure.
If I were going to buy this figure, I would think again. If you go onto EBAY or an independant dealer site you might still be able to find the earlier version, which is much better. ... Read more
