These accessories, which snap on in place of the pieces that come with a Rumble Car, look great ("tough," as we used to say when I was in the target demographic for this stuff), adding an element of stylish menace, but it's important to note that they don't actually extend what the cars can do. A BIG WASTE OF MONEY!
As a ground vehicle it operated great. As trying to lauch the plane from the land vehicle like advertised on TV and in the instructions, the plane just nose-dived. The plane had to be hand launched. The plane was extremely hard to fly by all that tried even by a 15 year experienced person to RC planes. The plane had a mind of its own after it got about 50 feet away from controller. My son was very disapointed as this was the first Christmas gift from Santa that was a big piece of junk.

Bought this for my 7 year old kid... Big dissapointment, it is techically impossible to fly the airplane. Tried every which way.

This plane can fly in the snow !
We were a little skeptical about an RC car and plane in one package. We thought it would be junk. However, we were pleasantly surprised. On Christmas Day, our 7 year old was chomping at the bit to try out his new toy. After a few hours, we couldn't take it anymore. Against our better judgement, and the instructions in the manual, we set off for the school yard during a snow flurry to fly our Land/Air RC. Although the car did not work well in the snow, the plane flew extremely well. After 1 attempt our 7-year old was able to master the controls. The plane is also very durable. We have managed to get it stuck at least half a dozen times in trees and have had to throw baseballs at the plane to get it down. No damage has been done to the plane.
Regarding the issue about the extra battery pack, it has been our experience that this is a requirement of most R/C vehicles. After purchasing the vehicle, we simply removed the instruction manual to review the requirements. We were well prepared for Christmas morning.

Part of the allure of RC sets is being able to be a car collector, amassing a vast garage full of models that would be considerably harder to obtain and maintain in real life. So instead of buying a bunch of pretty much identical vehicles to get the latest styles, consider these easily attached car bodies.
