I could not pass up the oppurtunity to write about this "Ungame" game! I got it just yesterday and my 4 and 7 year old children have already asked to play it over and over again. I'll be purchasing the other cardversions very soon! Great for any group & any age! Enjoy!

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent for entertaining or educational conversation!
I use this wonderful game during tutoring sessions with adults who are learning English as a second language.I thought this would be a fun & easy way to work on conversation skills. The package from amazon arrivedduring our lesson and was quickly ripped open!We laughed and talked andlaughed! The students were very impressed and thought they should use thegame whenever they have new friends come over to visit. The different gamecards are also great because you can choose which topics are mostappropriate for your group:light, deeper or Christian :) Buy it! youwon't regret it! :)

Editorial Review

Unlike Monopoly, Bibleopoly doesn't reward players for the accumulation of wealth, but insteadfor the accumulation of good deeds. The competition, for two to six players, is about who can do the mostfor others, not themselves. In the midst of all this kindness, players travel through cities mentioned in theBible. Careful! Don't land in the Abyss! City Cards, like street cards in Monopoly, give brief biblicaldescriptions of the various cities. Faith Cards may ask players facts about the cities or to recite Bibleverses. The winner of Bibleopoly is the first person to build a church, which requires many offerings. Thewin is celebrated by all as the winner names the church. This game is an enjoyable way for Bible studentsto learn biblical history, and it makes an excellent addition to any Sunday School room or family gamedrawer.--Lee Strucker ... 5-0 out of 5 stars You don't have to be a Mormon to enjoy this game
This is very similar to the Settler's of Catan game that is rightly becoming so popular these days. The difference is that this game is set in the land of Zarahemla (a place in the ancient Americas mentioned in the Book of Mormon). The first time I played this game I loved it.There is a lot of strategy involved as well as plenty of trading skills. There is also an element of luck that can allow anyone to win (the first time I played my 12 year old sister she won!).I still haven't tried the game with two players yet (it seems everytime I want to play there are plenty of others who would like to join in), but I can say it's a blast with either three or four people. The board is made up of 5 sections of different that have hex shapes on the front and the back. This means there are hundreds of possibilities for the way the board gets set up always forcing you to analyze it and adjust your strategy accordingly. You win by being the first player to reach 12 victory points, which are accumulated by building settlements and cities as well as having the longest road, largest army (obtained through special development cards), and greatest temple contributor (you can purchase temple stones). There are also 5 automatic victory points that can be obtained through buying development cards.
In summary, I've played the game about 4 times in the past two weeks and I'm still ready for more.I wish I could say I had won the game 4 times in the past two weeks...
Get the game, its a blast. ... Read more

Busy for hours!
From where i live, it is a 16 hour drive down to Disney World, depending on traffic. My children are ten and thirteen. My thirteen year old knows a lot about bible trivia so we made teams. Kids vs. parents. The kids had fun keeping score and "kicking our butts" at this game. The kids were able to answer most of the harder adult questions as well. We didn't get through all the questions, but form what i've seen, it looks like a great product. However we are still checking. As some products change things and say somethine entirely different form the bible. If your kids have been going to sunday school or some other bible learning edvent, I encourage you to quiz them by using this product. ... Read more

Editorial Review

Although it takes only two to tango, it takes at least four people to play Proverbial Wisdom (ofcourse, the more the merrier). Teams try to make heads or tails of sketches drawn by the presiding WisdomMaster (every picture tells a story!). They must also identify common sayings drawn on game cards, andchoose the meaning of proverbs from three given options. The first team to get all the way around the boardand solve the final sketch clue wins. After a few rounds, you and your friends and family will be spoutingbits of conventional wisdom and age-old sayings everywhere you go. This great game isn't easy, but as theysay... practice makes perfect! --Rachel Radway ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Game Everyone Can Play!
Proverbial Wisdom has something for everyone. There is always someone artistic who loves to sketch, someone who enjoys viewing the illustrated Picture Cards to solve the proverb, and someone who loves language and discovering the meaning and origin of hundreds of familiar proverbs and sayings. Game play is enjoyable and full of laughs. A fun combination game.

5-0 out of 5 stars A party game lover from Long Island
This is a great game for parties, other social gatherings and especially apres ski. I used to play Trivial Pursuit and Pictionary a lot. I find myself playing Proverbial Wisdom over and over again with my friends. Because everyone knows the proverbs such as "Two heads are better than one" every team has a good chance to win and that keeps it fun. This game will make a great holiday gift. What's not to like?

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome Game!
I have spent countless hours playing this game. You'd be amazed at some of the answers. It's challenging, yet you don't need to be a rocket scientist to figure it out. I give it five stars in all categories.

5-0 out of 5 stars A great gift and Teacher's tool, Proverbial Wisdom -the Game
Proverbial Wisdom is the game our family stays sharp with. Proverbial wisdom makes you think and work fast . Not only do we remember a Proverb.... or act it out, we draw it - depending on the instruction card.
It is good for the tactile ones in our family because you get to draw using fine muscle coordination. Sometimes the drawings are a good laugh, sometimes they leave us all stumped! The game uses some Proverbs we already know so it keeps us positive while we learn the many Proverbs we don't know. Learning the Proverbial Wisdom way puts Proverbs in long term memory. Our family loves this game because it makes us think, learn, and laugh. As a teacher, I can get fast lesson plans off the net. The lesson plans are ready to print instantly. In teaching and home play, I give it stars as follows:
5 Stars for fun
5 Star for learning
5 Stars for educational value
This is a board game of quality.
When I purchased Proverbial Wisdom for Christmas gifts, I learned Liberty Fund receives monies from every game sold through Dec 31st.

Our TV time is less because we play Proverbial Wisdom at our house on game night! Try it. You will get your money's worth a hundred times AND memories of playing with family and friends to treasure.

5-0 out of 5 stars What a great educational tool!
As a middle school teacher, I am often given training in "bringing the students to the next level". It is sometimes difficult taking students who have always been asked to think concretely to think at a higher level. Proverbial Wisdom is and has helped me acheive this goal in my classroom. The students have to stop seeing the words for their literal meaning and start thinking deeper. Students who have not always spoken English as their first language are also greatly benifited by playing this game with each other, since proverbs are always interwoven into the literature they read. Proverbial Wisdom gives these students a chance to look at the English language from a different perspective.
What I have not mentioned is how many smiles and how much laughter I see when students play the game. Drawing and charades are right up the 12- 15 year olds alley!!
What a fun way to meet an educational goal!!! ... Read more
