Rip Off!
This toy and it's stupid battery "pak" are going back to Toys R Us. It's crazy that the "pak" and the toy are the same price (If you can find the "pak"). NEVER buying Tyco ever again!!

Great little battery pack !
The rating listed for this battery pack is misleading (...), I am actually reviewing the battery pack - not the toy. (...) it clearly states on the front of the box that the battery pack is required for operation, as is the case with many r/c toys. This battery pack is great - no more running out of batteries, just recharge. Lots of playtime for a single recharge too ! And, it only takes a few recharges to pay for itself many times over !!

would rate ,but no batteries
I would like to be able to rate this toy but I this brings "batteries not included" a new meaning. Grandma bought this for my 6 year old son for X-mas. I seen batteries not included so I thought plural, but I was wrong. I don't know what Tyco was thinking about when they placed that on the box. I spent almost a full week hunting these "batteries" with no success, until one place. But to my shock they were out with no idea when they would get any more. So, now my son does nothing but pushing his rewinder around the house. I wish I could rewind time so grandma would not buy this.

Hook, line and sinker...
Most reading this review already share the disappointment of purchasing the Rewinder and then having to search high and low for the FlexPak. After purchasing the Rewinder (and the 9V battery), I found myself entering the post-holiday madness to locate the elusive FlexPak. Target sold the toy, but not the FlexPak, Radio Shack has a multitude of R/C batteries, but none would work. As another reviewer mentioned, the cost of the batteries equals the cost of the Rewinder. I would have rather been spared the time, trouble, and aggravation by having Tyco simply mark up the price and include the battery -- especially given its apparently limited availability.

Battery Not Included
Very misleading; the Flexpack Battery Pack that runs the Rewinder is sold seperately and can cost more than the toy!! Once you get past the exciting images of the Rewinder packaging, it's time to look for the battery requirements. The wording on the packaging follows line by line:
REQUIRES 1 TMH FLEXPAK NiMH + 1 9V
BATTERIES NOT INCLUDED
Maybe we are all too accustomed to seeing or hearing "Batteries Not Included" which is actually a nice change from when we were growing up and having to deal with the dissapointments of "BATTERIES EXTRA." Extra? You mean there are more batteries included just in case the original ones run out?
The point being, I assumed the toy and its large container would be all inclusive "excluding" the 9V. Well, the Flexpack wasn't included as was later discovered. I wasn't aware that Flexpack was a battery. I thought it was a Flexpack. Flexpack is singular, not plural and so BATTERIES NOT INCLUDED shouldn't apply to Flexpack.
Consumer Reports should have a field day with this one especially when they question Santa on why he didn't include the Flexpack with the Rewinder on that Holiday Morning. ... Read more

Editorial Review

This charging battery pack works with the NIKKO 9.6-volt cassette and will "charge up to1,000" times, according to the packaging. It works with the battery cassettes needed for the NIKKO radiocontrol vehicles and has a one-year limited warranty attached. The battery pack boasts a quick chargecapability, but still takes four hours to juice up your cassette. The cassette is shipped uncharged, socharging it is your first bit of business upon opening, not just plugging it into your vehicle.Remember, patience is a virtue. --Keith Simanton ... THIS SUCKS!
THIS BATTERY IS A RIP OFF. THE CHARGER TAKES FOREVER, AND THERE IS NO AUTOMATIC SHUTOFF! THE BATTERY ONLY HAS 800 MAH! (...)PRODUCT!
!!(...)

9.6v Charger And Battery
This Charger Is A Great Buy. Only $... And You Can Charge It Up To 1,000 Times. To Get All Those Charges, Though, You Shouldn't Charge It More Than 4 Hours And You Shouldn't Put In The Charger When It's Still Warm Or Not Used All The Way. It Is Always Best To Buy Atleast 2 Of These Batteries Because They Last 15-20 Min. Each Charge, So With 2 You Get 40 Min. Run Time.

Two batteries makes it all the better!
When you have two batteries it's so much fun because when you're finish having a blast for a half and hour you can do it a whole other half and hour! So make sure to have two! One more thing that's cool even though it takes a long time to charge if you have two you can kind of cut the time in half! So I'd recommend buying two cause two makes it all the more fun!

5-0 out of 5 stars Very Useful
I have 4 nikko cars: A Hummvee, A Dodge Viper, A Mercedes Benz SLK 230, and a Ford F-150 Harley Davidson. The Mercedes and the Ford both use a 9.6v battery. I only have 1 each so getting another one would really help. The Lights on the Mercedes go on when it moves so it does cut the battery life and the Turbo that I frequently use and there's also the Roof which I fiddle around a lot. The result: having a short battery life but now I got two so no need to worry. Very useful!! Get it with your 9.6v R/C

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent!
I had a Ford F-150 Harley Davidson Edition R/C car and everytime I come back from school at 3:00 I would play it but at 3:41 or so the batteries dies. Especially when I like to use Turbo. I have to recharge it for 4 hours then when I want to play it's dark out and even during the summer wher the sun sets at approximetly 8:30, I have to eat dinner. Now I have 2 which makes my life a little easier. I would play it maybe till 4:30. I would reccomend it to anyone who just want to play longer than 30 minutes. ... Read more

Editorial Review

Every aficionado of radio-controlled vehicles knows how expensive perpetually replacingdisposable batteries can be. There is a better way. Tyco's Turbo Premiumni-cad Battery Pack and Charger for 9.6-volt R/C vehicles allows up to 1,000 charges ona single pack. Charging takes just 4 hours from a standard 110/120-volt outlet. Tycobacks their claim that the Turbo 9.6-volt battery pack is the longest running R/C batteryavailable with an impressive 120-day, limited guarantee.--Jerry McCulley ... Read more

GREAT BATTERY
The design of Tyco's battery pack and charger is very nice and simple to operate. I like the idea of having a rechargable battery for toys since it is so expensive replacing regular batteries constantly. This battery was part of my child's Christmas along with the Vertigo radio controlled car (which I HIGHLY recommend). I charged it the recommended time and it was very easy to install into the car and off we went. It lasted as long as the standard rechargeable battery that was in my other son's remote control car (they both ran down at the exact same time). Anyhow, the kids had plenty of time to play with their cars and were ready to come in by the time the batteries ran down so I'd say I have no complaints and think that it is worth the money of buying the battery in order to get one of Tyco's SUPER cool cars!!!! ... No specification given.
There is no specification/description given on the site. The only specification you can find is from the picture that claims to be 720mAh. But when you recieve the battery, the actual mAh is 620 which is written on battery.

no worries
having this with 2 batteries is a life saver. i never have to worry about my 4 year old not having his truck or his robot at any given moment.

4-0 out of 5 stars super money saver
The Nikko Rechargeable battery and adapter makes a good deal for money. It has slashed my battery bills to nothing. The set is light in weight and can be conveniently recharged in hours. A stronger casing would have helped but nonetheless the set is a right deal for someone who uses up lot of batteries. The charging capacity remains strong enough for long term use. ... Read more

great for cameras and anything that loves batteries
I bought this because I thought hey if it can charge in 15 minutes that is great. I got it and it charged them, and then I put the batteries in my camera took lots of photos, no problems. I charged my Ni-Cd in it charged them better then my normal charger. Would I tell others to get this? Oh gosh yes, buy it and never buy any other batteries again. This could be the end of the alkaline battery as we know it.

Fast and good loader
I just got myself the 2 battery at once version in Utah during my vacation and went for a full test:
Charging is really 15 min max!
With an 4 cell AA Olympus E-10 I took 300 photos with flash plus several minutes of viewing photos before the system told me that the battery is weak.
This is tremendous for a USD 20 charger including 2 batteries.
Thumbs up for the speed/performance/price ration! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Batteries Great Customer Service
I recently purchased the Rayovac Rechargable batteries and 15minute charger. I had a little problem with the charger not recognizing the batteries and with a little twisting, it worked fine. I emailed Rayovac to see if this was a flaw and they said they were sending me a new one and also including a mailer to send the old one back. The customer service representative said she didn't want me having problems in the future. WOW!!! You cannot buy that kind of customer service these days. The other great feature is the batteries charge in 15 minutes or less, compared to my energizer charger that cost the same and charges in 14 HOURS, that is hours not minutes.

Simply the best
These batteries are simply the best rechargeable standard batteries available. The charge seems to last an amazing amount of time, and recharging only takes 15 minutes. How can you go wrong? Great for digital cameras that use AA batteries.

Best batteries!
The Rayovac IC3 batteries are by far the best and longest lasting batteries I have ever used. In the past I have used Lithium and alkaline batteries in my digital camera. After 20 shots using the built-in flash the batteries would be dead but the Rayovac IC3 batteries just keep going. When they die, just charge for 15 minutes and they're ready to go. ... Read more
