Editorial Review

Designed for the youngest mountain biker in the family or the kid who is a complete daredevil on bicycle, skateboard, or scooter, this Mongoose helmet offers the ultimate protection around the face and head. Resembling the shape of a motorcycle helmet, this bike helmet has an interior liner made of expanded polystyrene foam and an external plastic shell. Foam pads within the helmet provide extra cushioning and sliding buckles help adjust the helmet to the most snug fit possible. A high-performance visor screens out the glare when riding on sunny days, and an integrated chin guard helps protect the face in the event of a forward fall. Six vents on top of the helmet and five in the mouth and face area provide superior ventilation. This bicycle helmet complies with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission's standards for riders ages 5 and older. --Cristina Vaamonde ... Read more

cool riding
this helmet is great when i fell off my electric scooter instead of falling and scraping up my face it protected and i would recomend it to children of all ages and if you have a toddler into everything this this is the helmet for him and it looks very cool

Mongoose Helmet
It works great with my mini motercycel and is very strong. I still have the same helment after all of my falls.

Awesome Protection ... Great Value ... \(^u^)/
My step-son has the Mongoose BMX Full Face Helmet and it has an awesome stylish design of a angry Mongoose and the helmet does what is it suppose to do protect your head. It's universal use is awesome. My step-son has used this when I bought him his first dirt bike and currently using it while riding his pocket bike. And the first review is right ... you look cool wearing this than the regular bicycle helmet. He looks like a motorcycle rider who accidentally shrunk his motorcycle in the wash. LOL It's cute and gives him the full protection than the just half a regular helmet would give you. I recommend it for parents who are looking for secure protection from falls and accidents.

good helmet
good looking. if you are wearing this you dont look like a dork which you probably would look like with a regular helmet.

Great helmet
This helmet is great - very lightweight, yet more protection than my child's old helmet. A great piece of protective gear at a good price. An added benefit is the cool look. ... Read more

fun but helmet too small
My almost 4 year old has fun with these skates. They are not fast enough to be dangerous or scary. Only problem is that the helmet is very small. It doesn't even fit my 10 month old, much less the 4 year old it is intended to fit. Beware if your child's head is larger than average!

4-0 out of 5 stars Only Two Years Old and Blading already!!!
I got these for my 28 month old daughter for Valentines Day as she is fascinated by skating. They are a pain to put on, but she doesn't mind. They have "beginner" settings, which she used for the first hour and then it was on to the "expert" setting! What I like is all the safety gear come with them, so she knows that she has to wear it "all or nothing". These are great and seem to be safe and sturdy...with supervision, of course!

3-0 out of 5 stars fun to get dressed up for skating
My son got this for his 3rd birthday, and since then I think he's tried the skating maybe 4 times in the past 8 months. He likes wearing the helmet, knee and wrist guards, but the skates are hard to put on. He's pretty agile, but I think this might be more appropriate for a 4 year old or older child. Also, the helmet is not approved for bike riding, which is something to keep in mind.

An education in frustration
A 5 yr old's life is frustrating enough. Waiting not so patiently for papa to get done with his chores so he can go watch the kids skate. The time has finally come. Every 30 seconds ... papa, the straps are loose again. Thank goodness they aren't to the point of skating down our somewhat steep street. They would break their neck with these straps coming undone.

I bought two sets for my two 5 yr olds and the straps keep coming undone on both sets. The tensioning clasp just doesn't stay snapped shut. I looked high and low for a good pair of skates with features that I wanted, an inline with training wheels. These looked like the ticket, and I ignored the reviews as I couldn't fine others with these features. That's what I get for ignoring the reviews.

... Overall the skates look like a good design but are rendered useless with the always opening clasps. ... A locking strap clasp would be an easy modification. ..

4 year old loves it!
I bought this for my 4 year olds birthday in April and they have been great. I haven't had any problems with the closures holding, they appear to be pretty strong. I wasn't thrilled with how bulky they look but my son thinks they are pretty cool. I think the skates are a good way to start learning to in-line skate.

Faulty closures!! Do not recommend.
These skates do not allow much fun because every time my son gets going they come undone. The buckles(closures)do not stay shut. He cannot wear them at all because of this, I am constantly closing the buckles. I was so excited about getting these for him for christmas, and I turned out getting him a pair of the fisher price my first skates. I recommend if your childs foot will still fit in the fisher price my first skates to get those because these are not worth it. I was very disappointed in these because I like the look a lot more, than the fisher price my first skates, but oh well, the fisher price work better, and I have to go with that.I hope this helps.

Don't waste your money
I bought these skates for my 3 yr old and the strap keeps coming undone. I'm going to return them. ... Read more

Very disappointed
We bought these skates for our 5 year old. She could barely skate in them. They are too big and bulky for children just learning to skate. We returned them and have yet to find another pair.

Not good skates!
We bought these for our 4 yr old and were disappointed with them. Too big and hard to handle, however, we picked up a pair of the basic plastic pair that her shoe can also fit in and she did great! After they get the hang of those, the Barbie adjustable inline skates are great! They are $ and well worth it! Stay away from the "learn to inline skates" though! Luckily the store took those back!

poor quality
I took my niece skating last night with these skates. They were forever coming unstrapped - and actually fell off her foot once. They look nice - but not safe at all. ... Read more

Editorial Review

How do you make a child understand the importance of bike safety? This bicycle safety kit for boys includes a cool and highly visible blue helmet with racing flames and bright blue-and-red knee and elbow pads that most kids will be happy to wear before heading off on their bikes. Parents will feel comfortable knowing that the helmet is lined with expanded polystyrene foam that provides the maximum impact absorption if kids have a fall. The liner is protected by a durable hard plastic outer shell in an aerodynamic design. The helmet also has a built-in sun visor, air circulation vents to prevent overheating, and customizable pads for creating a snug fit so the helmet grows with your child. The knee and elbow pads are made of soft, comfortable nylon and have tough-looking, plastic "armor" on the exterior. Pads secure in back of knees or elbows with two Velcro tabs. The bicycle helmet complies with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission’s standards. --Cristina Vaamonde ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars These do say 2 and up!
I bought these for my two year old for her birthday. She loves them! The whole point is for them not to roll easily.Obviously these would be a bad choice for anyone searching professional quality skates. They are a perfect choice for your toddler. (They are the same skates as the Little People ones, I bought these since they have matching helmet and pads available!)

3-0 out of 5 stars Know what you are buying
We bought these skates after my 6 year old daughter went to a roller rink and wanted skates of her own. They are nothing close to the quality of the rink skates.I didn't expect them to be as good, but I hoped they would be useful. They do not roll very smoothly on any surface that we could find.We tried hardwood floors, concrete, and kitchen carpet. They rolled the smoothest on the kitchen carpet, but they would not roll without being pushed. The wheels are made of hard plastic. My daughter cried in frustration while trying to make these work. For bigger kids, I recommend buying something similar to what the roller rink has for rental.

I am going to let my 4 year old have these and hope that she likes them.Since the wheels lock in place for learning to wear them, I will also let my 2 year old try them. ... Read more
