good product
Made of heavy plastic, there doesn't appear to be any removeable parts. I bought my son this, but only paid $9.99 for it at Target's.

Good set -
This is a good set; it gets you the new figure of Brainiac.However, when I purchased it from Amazon, the picture wasn't up yet.I wasn't aware that the Martian Manhunter was going to be "invisible."It's alright, I just hope my son isn't disappointed at Christmas because he doesn't look like the normal Manhunter.The paint holds up moderately well on these figures, and the material could stand to be a little sturdier.Superman in particular has pretty bendy legs. ... my son was so excited!
My son a is big superman fan!He was so excited when he got this for his 6th birthday.It can be a bit noisy, but that fact that he enjoys it so much makes the noise worth it.I would recommend this toy for any little boy who likes pretending to be a superhero.

Kids love it.....I hate it!
Beware, this is a very annoying toy! It makes a lot of noise with no volume control! Let me also say that usually loud toys do not bother me, but this one does! If it had a mute or volume button, it would be an awesome toy.

Both of my 4 year old boys love this action figure. Superman's cape blows like he is flying (and makes a loud wind sound), his arms move up and down (and makes a loud smashing sound) and his eyes light up for x-ray vision (and makes a loud ray sound).

Unfortunately, he seems very durable! He flys solo down the stairs and off the furniture and hasn't broken yet. Both boys want to play with him and they fight over who's turn it is; but I find it so annoying that I refuse to buy a second one.

Grandma wonders why Superman hasn't lost his batteries or just completely disappeared, but they really love him. My solution is to make them play with it outside or in the basement so I don't have to hear it. ... Read more

it doesn't stand up!
the figure looks great, but Hawkman is horribly unbalanced and simply doesn't stand up for any length of time. it's incredibly frustrating.

Not just your father's action figure
I'm guilty. Yes, I am a collector, but experience, age, and (the lack of) funds have taught me to be particular about what I add to my collection. Hawkman from the Kingdom Come series flew from the shelf and into my collection the moment I picked up the box. He fulfilled every criteria and then some. His body is beautifully sculpted without exaggerated muscles or posing. The hawk head and feet add a touch of realism despite their improbability. This figure is coming out of the box to be prominiently displayed. Take my word for it - No picture does this figure justice.

A balancing act
Say hello to Northwind - that's this guy's real handle... No, this isn't a mutated Carter Hall, it's an entirely different character. I guess at some point Carter chose to pass the torch...

Anyway. The figure has more detail that you can throw a mace at, including a non-removable amulet on a VERY FRAGILE CHAIN!! Careful with the spear too - it is flexible enough to withstand SOME abuse, but bend it too far and it'll snap.

Standing this guy up is a challenge. He leans forward a lot (as a bird should, I guess). The only parts of him that articulate are wings, neck and shoulders... and the wings are HEAVY. You will have to position them "just so" in order to counterbalance the forward lean of the figure. After that he stands up just fine... AS LONG AS the wings are in the same position. Definitely a display piece (just like the rest of KC figures), and a very good one.

Looks great but handle with care!
This figure looks great but be very careful handling the spear. I was putting it in his hand and it broke! I guess I wasn't careful enough because I expected it to bend not snap! The articulation isn't very good but the wings move which was a nice surprise. He leans forward just a bit too far making him a little hard to balance. That's what you need the spear for!

I have heard so many people whinning about these figures, I bought the full line & opened up & displayed them. THATS WHAT THERE FOR!!! they are awesome, great sculpts & worth every penny. ... Read more

Repaints - already?
It's a bad sign that the second Superman figure released by Mattel is nothing more than a repaint of one issued only weeks before. That first figure, which I call "true blue Superman," was accurate to his look in the first season of the "Justice League" TV series, and had Supes in his trademark blue costume. This version (let's call him "blackout Superman") is the same toy, only with his suit black instead of blue, and his 'S' chest symbol red on a black background instead of red on yellow. Blackout Superman offers no new accesories, and no special features. The only reasons I can see for buying this are that you can't find the "true blue" version, or are one of those obsessive collectors who HAVE to have every version of every toy (I'm not one of them). A better deal: get the Justice League's Javelin 7 spacecraft, which has electronic features, AND a True Blue Superman figure free!

Can We NAME Our Variants, Please?
This is a beautiful variant of the regular Superman action figure (a loose term, as there are few points of articulation), but I have just one question. Is this the Superman with black symbol as he currently appears in the books, or is it a Kingdom Come version of Supes?
Try naming your variants for the fans, Mattel.
