Besides being a beginning baseball player, there are so manyother reasons why one might want to own this durable set: a small yard,a lack of a pitcher, a rainy day, all come to mind. It features aneasily assembled swiveling tee, which stands atop a rubber home plateand can adjust for height. An extra base and pitching rubber are alsoincluded (we're not sure why in a T-ball practice unit, but at leastkids will be ready when they start playing for real) as is a battingglove. The bat is real wood and, though smaller than regulation, reallypacks a punch. In our unscientific test, the rubber baseball reallysailed and, thanks to an elastic cord, came bouncing back. Batting tee strikes out
I have coached t-ball, as well as high school ball, for 10 years.In this time I have learned that the proper equipment makes a huge difference in a player's development.I purchased this t-ball set for my 5 year-old daughter.I was extremely disappointed in this product.The tee is very cheaply-made and difficult to assemble.The bases are paper-thin.The worst and most inexcusable fault with this product is in the height of the tee itself.For a product that is suppopsedly designed to teach younger children, the design is awful.The lowest possible height puts the ball at my daughter's shoulders, which makes me wonder:What possible purpose could the 5 higher settings serve?The only lesson this product teaches is poor pitch selection and swing mechanics. ...
