Cool Bed!
I feel that buying this bed was the best thing that we did for our son. He loves it so much he couldn't wait until my husband and I were finished putting it together which was very easy. One of my associates wants to buy one for her son. I can't believe how much of a difference this bed made in my son's life. Creating a bed out of a car was the most incredible decision.

thrilled parents!
Our one year-old son adores this bed. He had only slept about 3 nights soundly through the night in his crib. He's been in this bed for 5 nights now and he's slept through each one! poor construction
I just got this bed for my 22month old son & wish that I hadn't!! The construction on this bed is horrible, it feels like my son could pull it apart by himself, or that it will come apart if he jumps on it too much( what toddler do you know that doesn't love to jump on beds?). My 4 year old's bed was cheaper & feels a hundred times sturdier, I lay with my boys for bed time eveynight & I'm afraid to sit on this bed( I am not a big person either!). Also the bed did not come with anything to support the mattress, considering that we paid $220 for this, it should have atleast had something!!! I recommend the fire engine bed by stage 2, it was cheaper & 10 x's sturdier!!!! ... Read more

What a Great Bed
I bought this bed because they didnt have the train toddler bed which i prefer. It was a nightmare to put together and if you dont do it right the screws do not seem long enough. It took me 6 tries to secure the screws. i had to smush it together and screw it in at the same time. It holds my weight jumping on it. so im completely satisfied with safety. my son loves the red light and he likes jumping on it. we are still adjusting to him having a bed. its not to big that it looks horrible in his room...
io can definitely see where you would have problems putting it together and not having long enough screws. You might need a drill to get the little decorations on the side to go on though.

I also had big problems with this bed's construction
Like the previous reviewer. I noted that the screws that were supplied to hold the frame of the bed together were not nearly long enough to secure it. In fact, they did not even penetrate the plastic, and when we lifted the side wall it completely fell apart. I wonder if there was an incorrect shipment. We even used a power drill. The bed is adorable, however, and I am hoping that with some new screws it can be made safe. If not, we will be returning it.

A mom
I think this is a great bed!! When my son was old enough to move into a toddler bed this was the best choise. He never complained about getting into his bed - now 2 years later he still loves it and as much as he did when we first got it. I dont know how I am going to get him to move into a bigger bed when the time is ready. This bed is VERY durable, and I have never had any problems. The light is perfect because if my son gets scared at night he turns the light on without getting out of bed. I reccomend this product to every parent who does not want to spend a lot of money, but wants their child to remember there first bed when they get older!

Not so safe
I purchased this bed last December as a Christmas present for my 2 year old son. He loves to play in it but still prefers to sleep in his crib. Yesterday while playing in it, the bed completely fell apart and when I attempted to put it back together I realized that the necessary screws that hold the bed together weren't even long enough to attach the bed properly. I am extremely disappointed in this product and I have e-mailed Step2 and am waiting for a response. Parents be careful, and make sure if you do already own this bed that everything fits correctly. I thought my bed did, luckily my son was unharmed.

Great bed!!!
My son absolutely adores this bed, especially the little red light on top! We initially had problems with the light going through too many batteries, but I e-mailed the company (Step2) and they immediately sent me a new one at no charge, no questions asked. Durable enough for "hand-me-downs", also comes in 2 sizes!
We just bought a 2nd-hand Roadster Toddler Bed from a family who owned it for 5 years and it STILL looks brand new! Little Tikes makes very durable toys and furniture that allow "hand-me-downs" to last. I also like the fact that LT makes this Roadster bed in two sizes: toddler bed size and standard twin size. If your little guy is so attached to his toddler bed now, there can be less fuss when he outgrows it...just move up to the next size! The only negative thing about the toddler bed is that there is no mattress support included with the bed (new or used beds). Springs or coils are usually built into the crib mattress so there is no separate box spring to use. You have to buy separate slats or plywood to hold the mattress up.

My son and I loooooove this bed.
We purchased this bed for my son a few months ago, we have another baby on the way and this bed looked fun and durable. We had no trouble putting it together, then we bought plywood for the bottom support, works great. My son loves it and it seems really comfy to him (17 months old now). We are expecting another boy so I think when he gets old enough for the toddler bed, we will get our first son the twin size one. I love little tykes products and will continue to purchase them, they always are great quality.

Found a snug mattress
I am currently living in Australia and it was time for our boy to have a new bed. We were about to purchase a new bed from the USA and have it shipped, but where my husband works someone was selling one as their child had grown out of it. We bought it, it was in GREAT condition and brought it home. It had a mattress in it that was purchased with the bed from the USA and it didn't fit very snug, so we pulled out his Australian crib bed mattress and it fits perfect, absolutely no room on the sides, and a cm or two down the bottom. You have to pull the mattress up to put the fitted sheet on, like you do with most small beds, but it fits so much better than the toddler mattresses back home in the USA.

happy with car bed
We purchased this bed for our 16 month old. He loves it! I want to thank the reviewer who recommended the "bunkie board." I was nervous about purchasing this item when I read the other reviews about the problems with the space around the matress and using cardboard as support. The description of this bed should bodly state thst it doesn't come with a support and recommend the "bunkie board" (it was $14.95- I bought it through kidrus.com. Meager value
I bought this bed...and had to call in reinforcements to help me put it together. It was very difficult to assemble, the pieces did not fit together well. My daughter has been using this bed for about a year now and it is beginning to splinter (she is only 3 years old). It will hold up for a couple of more years by what I can tell of it, but I wouldn't highly recommend this bed for someone who intends to reuse it for more than on child.

Can't put it together
I made the mistake of taking apart my daughter's crib before putting this toddler bed together. Big mistake!! The bed came with the missing pieces and could not be assembled. I could not get in touch with the company because it was a Saturday. So my daughter has been sleeping on her mattress on the floor!! ... Don't waste your time!

A GOOD BUY ...
This bed was a good buy for our 3 year old! She loved getting into her big girl bed! Although it's getting smaller, and soon we'll have to get a twin size bed. But this is in excellent condition and was very easy to assemble. As for the weight limit, it can handle my 190 lb. husband sitting on the bed with my daughter!

Damage boxes, dent, cracks you name it
This is the first time we ever order furniture from Amazon, boy am I sorry!!, The quality of the bed is so so, the bars & rails are alot skinnier than I though, the paint were not even, the legs are rather skinny.we didnt expect much quality for this price but this is lower than we imagin. The boxes looked damage, previoulsly opened & taped, the heaboard has several dents & paints chip off, the worse part is the legs of heaboard is completly split from bottom....we are waiting for a replacemnt now, if the new one is still like this, I am asking for my refund,,,& never buy any furniture from them.. ... Perfect size for toddlers
I purchased this bed along with Flower Fields 4 Piece Toddler Set for my 15 month old daughter. And she loves it ! She hasn't even fell out once. The ajustment from crib to toddler bed has been so easy. Definetly worth the money.

Nice, inexpensive toddler bed, but...
This "starter" bed arrived very quickly (two days to Alaska) and was very simple to assemble--we hardly even had to read the instructions. Our only complaint was that the headboard and footboard were not wrapped in the box (other parts were) and therefore had some significant scratches from bouncing against each other. I will be calling the company to request either a discount or replacement. Overall, however, this bed seems to be pretty well made and sturdy, especially considering the cost. My son, 17 months, took to it right away. We recommend this bed and feel it is worth the price, even with shipping costs.

2 Year Old Twins Fall Out Several Times A Night!!
We purchased these beds for our 2 year old toddlers because they were able to climb our of their cribs and we were concerned for their safety. Well, the side rails are way too short and both my twins fall out several times a night scaring the life out of them! They are now terrified to even go to sleep in them at all.
Before purchasing these beds please consider whether your children move around alot while sleeping, like ours do, and remember it's VERY easy to fall out.

The best buy ever!
I was apprehensive about buying this bed after reading reviews that it was so difficult to put together. I couldn't believe it! I had the bed together in less than a half hour (and I'm not that good at assembly). It was very easy to do and the instructions are simple and straightforward. My son loves the bed as well as his new independence. I would definitely recommend this toddler bed. It's inexpensive and a good purchase. It's sturdy and looks good. My son loves it!

Great value for the price! Wish rails were taller
This bed is a great value for the price. It is fairly simple to put together and incredibly sturdy. We were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the bed. I only have 2 complaints - 1) one side rail had a chip and the finish is now splitting and peeling away and 2) the side rails only come up maybe 3 inches over the mattress. These are not tall enough to really keep our daughter from falling out of the bed. She is old enough now (2.5 yrs) that I'm not too worried about it but if your child moves around a lot in their sleep, you may need to use some sort of extra rail. Overall, we are very happy with the bed and our daughter absolutely loves it. The color and style are beautiful and it looks great in her room.

We LOVE This Bed!!
My 2 year old daughter started wanting to sleep in "mommies bed" every night, and at nap times, and not in her crib. So I knew it was time for her own "big-girl bed." When I ordered this bed, I also ordered the Sesame Street bedding set, because she's crazy about Elmo, and the Sealy Mattress. I put the picture of the bed that shows the Sesame Street bedding on it, on the wall of her bedroom, and said, "Look, there is your new "Big-girl bed!" She loved it, and referred to it as "her bed" when showing the picture to family and friends that came over. The bed came quickly, was EASY TO ASSEMBLE, was good quality, and looked beautiful. What a great value! Within a couple of days, my daughter was completely comfortable climbing in her new bed, and going right to sleep. And everyone who sees her bed has a fit over how adorable it is! very happy
I put this bed together with the help of my 2 1/4 year old son, it went together smoothly and I thought the quality was very good. He was very excited from the get-go, and helped change over the crib mattress and set up the sheets, blankets, his stuffed animals and pillows. Putting him to bed in it took a little longer the first night, as he was very excited, but he slept well. I'm happy with it and glad that I did not have to go through the higher expense of a twin bed, mattress, sheets, etc. I also like that it's low to the ground vs. a twin bed.

Difficult to put together
We bought this because of the price and we have a crib from the same company that we like very much. This bed was VERY difficult to put together. the rails that hold the headboard and footboard together were bowed so it made it that much more difficult to put the slats in to hold the mattress and we still couldnt get it tight enough at the head of the bed so one slat is still wobbly. They also dont tell you exactly what screws to use when you put the guardrails on they say you can use any that are left in what ever hole and thats not the case. It looks very nice for 'put together' furniture but its incredibly difficult to put together.

I was so impressed with the quality of this bed for the price. The picture on this website does not do the bed justice. I thought the bed was easy to put together, even with my 15 month old trying to help :) The bed is so sturdy, and my son loves it. When he gets older, the gaurdrails can come off as easy as they went on. As far as furniture from a box goes, this has been the easiest by far to put together, and the shipping was really quick! dissapointing
When I opened the box I saw so much dirt not only on the plastic covers but inside the sofabed too. Then the biggest dissapointment was after I put down the sofabed, I saw that it is so badly cut and made that the sofabed looks unproportional and deformed. I guess this is a defected product but the quality control dept. should not let this one pass and get sold to the public!! It's very dissapointing especially when it's quite expensive and was given good reviews before.

Cute but shipping was a pain!
I just received this item a couple days ago so I'm not sure yet on the durability. It is all foam with no frame so I'm a little worried about this feature but it seems soft and "safe" for a child's bedroom. The pillows were the exact same color denim unlike the Amazon picture shows. I do really like a couple nifty features like a plasticized lining on the sofabed portion (nice for nighttime accidents). I also really like that there are zippers to remove the denim cover should it need washing (of course!). ...

ALL MY KIDS LOVE IT
I have 20 month old twins and a 7 year old and they all like it. Unfortunately only two can sit on it at one time which was the plan originally. I bought it for the twins, but now my 7 year old wants one too. great bed
we bought this bed for our 21 month old, when he started climbing out of his crib. He was so happy when he seen it and was excited to go to sleep, its only been two nights that hes had it and i only had to stay with him for 15 min the 1st night then he went all by his self, and has slept GREAT, he calls it his car-bed. the only thing is that it is hard to put the screws in, we had a hard time with it and the wheel came off, we called little tikes and they fed exd us with a new one. i would suggest anyone moving out of the crib to a big bed is to put up the new bed next to the crib, so it gets the toddler use to sleeping in there be fore they go into their big boy/girl room, it helped amazingly with us, our son is so comfortable with it! love the bed

Very happy 2 year old
We bought this bed for my son when he was 20 months old and I was pregnant with child #2. He loves it! He loves anything with wheels so we had no trouble moving him from the crib in the nursery to his big boy room complete with car bed (and truck wallpaper border of course!). What I like most about the bed is that the sides are higher than the mattress so that he can't roll out and we don't need a railing. If you feel that you need more of a side I have even seen people take out the box springs so that the mattress is enclosed on all sides. And of course, just like the rest of Little Tikes products, it is very durable. Well worth the money!

My son loves it -- but can be a danger
My 3 year old loves this bed and finally sleeps though the night! However, it uses a standard size twin mattress (38"wide x 75"long which creates a 4-inch gap along one side or 2-inch gap on both sides. My son gets his arms and legs stuck along the sides and if you put it on one side, his whole body would fit through the gap! I am very disappointed that this product does not fit the mattress as stated.

Our son LOVES it!
After our 2 year old son learned to climb out of his crib, he wouldn't sleep in his room at all...until we bought him this bed! The side are high enough that he can't roll out and he just thought it was so great he had to tell everyone about his new carbed. There are a few things to keep in mind when buying it though. One is the size. It is a large bed so make sure you have room for it. The second is that there is about 1 1/2" space between the mattress and the bed (for the comforter to fit) and I have found quite a few toys (and other items) down there. We did have a little problem with one wheel staying on and I contacted Little Tykes. They were great and shipped a replacement part to us that came a lot quicker than I thought. But the wheels are only held on by a screw so you have to make sure kids don't pull or climb on the wheels or they will probably come off. ... Read more

Excellent Toddler bed
I bought this Toddler bed for my 1 1/2 yr old daughter and she loves it.She even put herself down for a nap in it.It wasn't too difficult to put together and it's beautiful.It's low enough to the ground where if she rolls out, like she does often, she could really care less.

My only issue with the bed are the guard rails.I think they should be a little taller and a little longer.My daughter's pillow is about as tall as the rails and is about 1/2 as long, which makes it easier for her to roll out of bed.Since she sleeps in about the center of the bed and flip flops some at night.

Other than that I love it.I even bought the nightstand to match it.

The Best Looking Toddler Bed Ever!
I absolutely cannot say enough good things about this toddler bed. First of all, its simply stunning, the cherry finish brings it an unsurpassed level of sophistication. The smooth lines and curves, not only look nice but relieve the concern about pointy edges.

Like all toddler beds its low to the ground and since my child is a rough and tumble sleeper, I find that if I put pillows on the floor, I don't worry about her falling on the floor, which she did the very first night but simply brushed it off and said "I went splat on the floor". And hasn't fallen out since she reliezed the guardrails are only at the top of the bed!

Besides the beauty and nice detail was the superior ease of construction simply by looking carefully at the pictures, I found actually reading the instructions mixed me up too much. And best to have 2 people construct it together, to help hold things into place.It comes with all the screws and tools needed to set it up completely.

And best of all when I lost 1 screw, I simply called customer service and they sent a whole new set of screws.

Overall, top of the line, great price, fantastic looks, ease of construction, and great customer service!

Now I just have to get used to her getting out of bed at will...LOL ... Read more

I love it!
My daughter is 18th months and she loves this bed. She goes to sleep on her own eversince I got her this bed. And her friends loves it too. They would visit her just because they want to see her bed. I would recommend it to parents who's daughters are into princess. It is the most affordable, yet closest thing to a princess bed.

Fit for a Queen
This was the best gift my daughter has ever received! My two year old absolutely loves this bed. She slept in it all night, the first night, and although she woke up at 8:00a.m. she played in it until noon. Her reaction alone was worth the money. Just seeing her jumping(Yes, it's very durable) on it yelling "I'm a tincess, a tincess with a castle!!!" was worth it. I highly recommend this bed for every little girl. I'm a kindergarten teacher and this bed is a perfect investment for promoting creative play!!!!!

Defective
After toting all the pieces up stairs, all excited to put it together, my 2 year old daughter was even helping. Get to step 1 where you slide the first 3 pieces together and holes are missing for the pegs to go into. Holes were missing just on one side, isn't that what quality check if for?? We will return this for the same bed and hopefully get a FUNCTIONAL bed.

LOVE THIS BED! We bought this for our daughter because she is a big Disney Princess and Barbie enthusiast. When we went to buy it she was playing on the display forever (long wait in the line). We took it home and my husband put it together in a matter of minutes. The very first night was an easy transition in to her big girl bed. She loved the night light and the fact she could get into the bed easily by herself (unlike her crib). She loves to dress up, play pretend, jump, dance, and sing in her bed. I think this is a brilliant product for a little girl (I wish I had one when I was younger). I love that it will grow with her till she grows out of it. 22 year old?
I am not suprised that a 22 year old (carhe5) got stuck in this bed.Maybe try the fire truck it looks bigger.

Custom Sports Car
I love that the tires mount to the bed and the fact that they say "Made In The USA" on them. These beds are just too cool, and a quality product. My Grandkids love them and I know that they will out last anything else we might have bought them. We bought 1/2 inch particle board sheets and had the hardware store cut them to the same size as a twin bed mattress, they didn't charge anything to cut it to size. We laid the particle board over the slats in the bed so we didn't have to buy a box spring. I think we saved about $100 doing it that way. It allowed the mattress to recess down into the bed just a little to protect them some if, (and when), they jump on the bed. These are keepsake beds and I doubt that they will ever sell them, or give them away. They just love them too much.

King of the house!
We bought this bed for my 27 month old son.The first time he saw it his eyes were like saucers.First he tried to turn the wheels, then it took him 4 tries to hop over the side, but once he got into the bed we couldn't get him out.He was like the king of the mountain! He loves sliding down the hood in the morning to get out of it and now climbs into it the same way.His smile was worth every penny spent.

Little Tikes Twin Race Car Bed
We got this bed for my son when he was 22 months old.We were moving and bought this for his new room.The excitement of his new bed made the movea happy time for him too.He is now turning 8 and refuses to turn the bedover to his little brother so I guess we need to look into another one!Westarted out with the mattress and bunkie board on the lowest level so hecouldn't roll out, then moved it up to the next level when he was older.The toy box in the front holds alot and the headboard gave him a place togo with stuffed animals and other stuff. Security concerns
I went to buy this for my 22 yr old son. However, the twin matress does not fit securely in the car. They are 6-12 inch gaps between the mattress and the side of the car on all sides, plenty or room for my son's arm, leg or face to get stuck in! Sure I could probably rig something up, but for this amt of money I shouldn't have to, nor am I going to!

Custom Sports Car
I love that the tires mount to the bed and the fact that they say "Made In The USA" on them. These beds are just too cool, and a quality product. My Grandkids love them and I know that they will out last anything else we might have bought them. We bought 1/2 inch particle board sheets and had the hardware store cut them to the same size as a twin bed mattress, they didn't charge anything to cut it to size. We laid the particle board over the slats in the bed so we didn't have to buy a box spring. I think we saved about $100 doing it that way. It allowed the mattress to recess down into the bed just a little to protect them some if, (and when), they jump on the bed. These are keepsake beds and I doubt that they will ever sell them, or give them away. They just love them too much.

King of the house!
We bought this bed for my 27 month old son. The first time he saw it his eyes were like saucers. First he tried to turn the wheels, then it took him 4 tries to hop over the side, but once he got into the bed we couldn't get him out. He was like the king of the mountain! He loves sliding down the hood in the morning to get out of it and now climbs into it the same way. His smile was worth every penny spent.

Now he sleeps soundly every night and loves it!! It so comfy and cozy! Every time before he gets into it he comments on what a nice bed it is. Little Tikes Twin Race Car Bed

Security concerns
