karaoke night for one

Continuous entertainment for 8 year-old girl
We bought this for my daughter, Christmas 2003. It's now almost five months later, and we've had no problems with the machine.

While it's not perfect, it does have clear, acceptable sound quality, and works reliably. The built-in screen is a big plus, and the design is sort of cool, especially when you compare it to the usual ugly black & chrome box. Also good that it comes with two mics.

The main thing is that my 8 year-old daughter plays with it several times a week alone and with her friends. So far, nothing has broken (although I know the flimsy microphone holders will bust off one day).

Like many less expensive karaoke machines, singers need to get really close to the mics.

All-in-all, we're very pleased with this product so far. I enthusiastically recommend it!

splurge on this toy!
i bought this machine for my girls for Christmas,,,, but I have taken it out to be sure it worked and would be AWESOME for them. *IT COMES WITH TWO MICS* this is my favorite feature. none of the other karaoke machines i looked at had two microphones (which is an additional $30+).If you are NEW TO KARAOKE --research a little before buying ANY music to go with it. ONLY KARAOKE CD'S THAT SAY " CD+G" WILL SHOW THE WORDS ON YOUR KARAOKE SCREEN!!! just because a CD says "karaoke" does NOT mean it shows lyrics!this machine WILL play all CD's--but only those marked "CD+G" show the words... Great First CD player/radio

Awesome
I think that it's great that they design a new Hello Kitty CD player every year or so. The design on this one is great because it is bright and the plastic house itself is just more solid than the previous two.

However, it has some of the same flaws as the previous models. This boombox works well in a small room or when working in a small area. Due to the popularity of CDs, I didn't miss the cassette deck. I did think that this boombox was a little expensive considering the sound output and lack of cassette deck.

This boombox also presents a new problem. The CD is placed in the player vertically, instead of horizontally. If you don't snap it onto the wheel inside, it could damage the CD, so you need to be careful.

To increase the educational value of this toy, someone suggested getting karaoke CDs with lyrics books. It is a great way to introduce reading or to improve on reading skills. ... Read more

A good personal CD player was, until just a few years ago, considered something of a high-end item, priced beyond the range of most kids. But as technology improves, quality products, such as this impressive and oh-so-feminine CD player become more accessible to everybody. Fun!
My daughter 18 months old, loves this toy. She just got it for Easter, she plays with it all the time. The only problem with it is when you have too many clips on it, it is heavy and hard to carry. We have to keep the clips down to 4 or less on the loop. This toy is not too loud either. I have found most childrens toys very loud, this one is just right.

Purr-fect for Little Lion King Fans!
My 2-year-old daughter recently received a Disney Kid Clips player and the first songs she asked for were the Lion King clips! If you can find them (they are hard to come by these days) then I highly recommend grabbing them up! She has played these so much already, she can sing along!
