    Editorial Review

Halloween is likely to feature scores of boys and girls dressed aswizards or witches in training. This Harry Potter costume from Rubiesis a one-stop costume solution. The black polyester 40 inch cape is light, machine washable, sports the crest ofHarry's Gryffindor House at Hogwarts, has a wide collar and roomy sleeves. Magicians will want to wear clothes underneath as the cape gapes openand isn't exactly warm. Accessories include Harry'swand and glasses (of course) and assorted stickers. They may wish to conjure up a pointy hat to complete the effect. Size 6 to 12. ... Read more

Excellent buy for any Harry Potter fan!
This was a great find for my 6 yr old son. He loves Harry Potter and was thrilled with the robe, wand, glasses and stickers. The robe was a nice soft material, not that itchy stuff that costumes are usually made of. The glasses were made with real glass and metal, not cheap plastic. The wand is plastic, but still pretty durable. My son wore the scar tattoo and was thrilled he was "just like Harry Potter".

The costume came in a nice box, and for $13.88 was a great deal! My kids are still playing with it even after Halloween.

    Great For Harry Potter Wannabe's
I purchased this as a halloween costume for my 5-yr old son and he absolutely loves it. He runs through the house casting spells with the wand that comes with it. The glasses are made with real glass lenses so you need to be carefull with them. The only problem we had with it was the clasps for the robe that came with the set were flimsy and the glue that is used to hold the decoration onto them is very weak. All in all, this was great fun for my son!!

    Halloween Dad!
This was a great find for my son's trick or treating, despite it's quality. He is fascinated by Harry Potter. The kit includes a robe, wand, glasses and stickers. The stickers don't really fit with the set and should be played with separately, but a nice bonus. The wand is decent quality, simulated wood grain plastic. The glasses are quite huge on my 4 yr old as is the cape. The cape itself is of good quality, but needs hemmed...big time. The clasp came unglued immediately and needed fixed. Overall a good value and comes with a box, which I guess for the avid collector is a bonus. This was on sale for $13.88 which made it a better deal. Beware when you find accessories...scarf, tie, vest to complete the set...they're not as cheap.

Real cute on Little Harry Potters
I bought this costume for my son for his second birthday party, which had a Harry Potter theme. (See my "How To" guide for organising an unforgettable Harry Potter party in the "So you'd like to ..." section)

The one I got came with a fancy clasp to hold the front of the cape together. It was a little big, so I had to hem it and roll up the sleeves. Even after hard wear and much abuse at the party it washed well, and looks like new. He will probably still have this costume when Books 6 and 7 come out.

The wand is realistic, but with young children you have to watch out for them hitting other children with it, as it's pretty solid.

The glasses are also very authentic looking, and fits all faces (mine included). Again you have to be careful with younger children as it tends to slide off little noses, and the glass might break. I haven't had any problems with it mind you, but it could happen. The lenses get dirty quickly also.

The transfers are a very nice touch, and they go on easily with a little water. Even squirmy kids can be decorated without too much fuss. They last a couple of days if you don't scrub them too hard in the bath. I removed my son's own, because it was so realistic that people kept coming up to me asking if he had fallen and hurt his forehead. (Muggles no doubt!)

A great buy for your little Harry Potter

    So much fun!
This is a great set! The glasses have clear glass in them, the wand looks like wood (but is plastic), and the robe has the Griffindor seal. The one we ordered came with lightning bolt tatoos which really completes the Harry Potter look! My son has worn this costume for the recent book release party (where he won 3rd place in a costume contest), Halloween, watching the movies, playing the computer game. It is durable, lightweight, and LOADS of fun! A great gift for all Potter fans... ... Read more

    A bit confused
I tried playing with this game, but I couldn't figure out how to get the spiral game to work. That is the only one I have tried sp far and I've only been trying for about a half hour, but it gave me a head ache, so i gave up. But other than that, the game was a ton of fun and is sure to keep me busy for a long time.

An Uncle who bought a cool gift
I bought the Harry Potter Magic Puzzles for my nieces and I scored some major brownie points. They loved this at first because it was about their hero, Harry Potter, however, they play with it for hours on end. Putting the puzzles together is fun in itself, but then there are the cool magic tricks and the VERY COOL optical illusion using the spiral disk too. This is great for any kid interested in magic, as well jigsaw puzzles and Harry! A big thumbs up!

    5-0 out of 5 stars ?
    This game is cool.
    anybody can play this game.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best
It works perfectly and it is so cool!!! I LOVE IT!!!

3-0 out of 5 stars Harry Potter game
    This was ok i guess.

I'm a British fan though and it said Sorcerers in stead of Philosophers stone but it doesn't matter that much.

I would say this game is pretty good, but you've gotta be a Potter lover to play. If your not or have never read the books you could find it very confusing.

I'm 12 and I understood it though, but the instructions were very confusing and it took ages to work them all out, i spent about 4 hours trying to work out how you caught the snitches!

It was quite durable but hadly educational

Thankyou for allowing me to show my personal opinions of this truly athentic game with you Americans! ... . ... Read more

    OH MY GOD
OH MY GOD!!! I got this game for X-mas a couple years ago, but never had a chance to play it with anyone. Then this week my grandparents came to visit. One night we decided to play cards. I got out my Harry Potter Uno cards, and we had a BLAST! It was so much fun! Everyone enjoyed playing it. We stayed up until midnight playing, and we had started at 8! Lets just say it kept us busy.....

Oh, and I agree with the guy... why would you play in a dimly lite room?

I recommend this to all ages. You will have sooo much fun, trust me.

    Very fun!
This is a terrific card game. Oh, and for the moron who put that it's hard to see the numbers on the yellow cards in a dimly lit room, why would you play there anyway?

Played it today and really enjoyed it
Uno has always been a fun game. It isn't very complicated or cerebral, which is why it's fun for kids and even adults when some light diversion is needed. The idea of theme decks is a nice touch, and most themes are lent to a specific set of house rules.

I played Harry Potter Uno with a few other people today, and everybody had a great time. The Howler and Invisibility cards were a nice variation, and we made up Hogwart-esque penalties for certain situations. The nice artwork on the cards took a bit of getting used to, but everybody quickly made the adjustment. If you or your kids like Harry Potter or Uno, this deck is great idea.

A Fun Twist to the Popular Game of Uno
Mattel's game of Uno has been a fun and entertaining card game for many years. The basic rules for playing Uno are as follows:

    1. The deck consists of four suits (red, green, blue and yellow). Each suit contains several sets of cards numbered "0" through "9", as well as the cards "Skip", "Reverse" and "Draw Two".
    2. In addition to the cards of the four suits, there are two sets of wild cards: regular "Wild" cards and the dreaded "Wild Draw Four" cards.
    3. To begin play, each player begins with a score of zero. The dealer deals each player seven cards and places the remaining cards face down in the center of the playing area as the "draw stack", then turns the first card up and sets it down to create the "discard stack".
    4. The goal of the game is for each player to discard as many cards as possible before the other players can. To discard a particular card, it must match the current card at the top of the discard stack either by suit or by number (or "Skip", "Reverse" or "Draw Two"). A "Wild" card can be played at any time to change current suit color. A "Wild Draw Four" card can only be played when the player has no cards matching the current suit color. If the player has no matching cards, he/she must take a new card from the draw stack.
    5. When a "Skip" card is played, the next player loses his/her turn. When a "Reverse" card is played, player direction is reversed. When a "Draw Two" card is played, the next player must take two cards from the draw stack and lose his/her turn. When a "Wild Draw Four" card is played, the next player has to take four new cards and loses his/her turn.
    6. If a player has only one card remaining, he/she must call out "Uno" to let the other players know. Otherwise, he/she runs the risk of having to take two new cards from the draw stack if another players catcher her/him with only one card.
    7. The first player to discard all of his/her cards is the winning player of the hand. The point values of all the remaining cards that the other players have are summed together and become part of the winning player's overall score.
    8. The first player to reach 500 points wins the game.

After the release of the "Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone" film in 2001, Mattel came out with a special "Harry Potter" edition of the classic Uno game. The cards in the Harry Potter Uno deck contain pictures of various characters from the "Harry Potter" films, and there were a few card changes:
    1. The "Draw Two" cards became "Draw Three" cards.
    2. Two additional special cards were added: the "Howler" card and the "Invisibility" card.

With the addition of the two special cards and the "Draw Three" card, the rules for playing Uno were slightly modified:

    1. When a "Draw Three" card is played, the next player must take three cards from the draw stack.
    2. When the "Howler" card is played, the next player must reveal their cards to everyone, unless they possess an "Invisibility" card. Both the "Howler" and "Invisibility" cards also act as "Wild" cards.
    3. The "Invisibility" card can also be used to protect against receiving a "Draw Three" or "Wild Draw Four" card.

Uno is a fun game that both children and adults can enjoy for hours. The Harry Potter Uno game is even more fun because of the addition of the "Howler" and "Invisibility" cards. Overall, I rate Harry Potter Uno with 5 out of 5 stars and highly recommend it to everyone. The only problem that I noted with the Harry Potter Uno deck is that it can be difficult to differentiate the white text on the yellow cards in a poorly-lit room.

Even my Grandma had a good time
I'm 23 and I love the Harry Potter books. I was given this card game as a birthday present. My family loves to play games but we often have a hard time finding one we can all agree to play. Uno is usually a favorite. Even my Grandma, who is 86, enjoyed this game. The Howler and Invisibility cloak cards were a nice addition to the game.

On the down side, the colors in the Harry Potter version are sometimes hard to differentiate, and I had to explain the cryptic icons for the Reverse and Skip cards to everyone ahead of time. ... Read more

    Expecto patronom Harry potter
    SWEETEST TOY IN THE WORLD!!!

    Okay
I think this figure is just okay. I mean there are three Harrys in the HP3 figure line. I think instead of making this toy they should have made a Hermione or a Serious Black figure. I mean the HP2 toys had a figure just like this only smaller!

    Nice, but ...
I just bought this toy in store for my 12 year old son. We are both avid Potter fans. We thinks the toy is wonderful but are let down by one major flaw in the toy. The spell is supposedly Expecto Patronum, but none of the "Spells" that come with the toy resemble a patronum. If your looking for accuracy, this won't do the trick. If your looking for a cool toy then it's perfect

    Grown Harry
I got it. Wow. It's neat. Almost as if everything's detailed (wrinkles, veins, nails, etc). Three cool spell objects for Harry to use (I think it shoot). I noticed something else. I don't know if it's same house crest patch as seen in HP3. I think it's different in movie. Who knows. I am glad to have it to my collection. ... Read more

    best quidditch figure yet
This figure is completely articulated. He's got a magnetic hand to catch the snitch with. It even comes with a stand for display. I've got the other quidditch figures and I have got to say that this one is much better. It even comes with a Firebolt.

    Quidditch Harry!
I got it. Wow. It's neat. Almost as if everything's detailed (wrinkles, veins, nails, etc). I like the way he smiled. It's cute! I love Quidditch! Maybe I will buy an extra to hung it up. I am glad to have it to my collection.

    very cool figure!
Being such a huge Harry Potter enthusiast, I was really looking forward to the new line of Prisoner of Azkaban toys, and probably would have bought them all regardless, but I was not at all disappointed with this figure. It bears probably the closest resemblance to Daniel Radcliffe that we have seen so far, is around 8 inches tall (much bigger than the old 5 inch Harry Potter figures), and has a really cool "magnetic grip" to catch the snitch with. It's a really fun toy that I think Harry fans will love.

    Pumpkin Slushie Maker
I bought this toy for my 9 year old. he threw in ice and spun the crank that shaved the ice. He added mixes and tasted the slush. It tasted like vanilla instead of pumpkin. He loved the product. Buy this toy.

    Where are the refills?
My son & I had a great time making these slushies,
and they tasted great too. The only problem is
that you can't find the refills for it..ANYWHERE!
Had I known it would be such a difficult task, I never
would have purchased this. What do you do with it now?
The color changing/popping crystals is what makes it
    "magical." Kool-Aid won't cut it.

Great toy.. can't find refills... at all
This is a great toy! I own one myself. The only problem is you'll never find the refill packs. ...I guess you could use Kool-Aid or something, but it is not really the same. ... Read more

Uses everyday products you can use instead of buying this
I purchased this gift for Christmas for my 9 year old. He ripped open the package so he can make "gummi" candies. Little did we know that the "gummi" candy was tangerine jello. We added the "petrified potion mix" (the crunchy coating) That we Found out was white chocolate. The sour apple "venom" tasted like expired limes. The result tasted horrible. Fun for Harry fans of all ages!
I initially purchased this wand for my sister's birthday, but ended up going back and buying another for myself. I, like many other ardent Harry Potter fans, couldn't pass up having a wand of my own.

The wand itself makes more than 25 sounds and is much more durable than most things kids use as wands.

If you have small children, I would say this wand is pretty safe. The tip is actually soft and has some bend to it and there are no sharp or pointy ends. You could get this for multiple children and let them duel in the style of Harry Potter. Because there generally isn't any physical contact, they can have as much fun as they would sword or pillow fighting without hurting each other or breaking things in the house.

This wand is a great gift for a child or for any Harry Potter fan. In its own small way, the owner can feel a taste of the magic that is Harry Potter. ... Read more

    How did they do that?!?!?!?
I bought it... Most of my Harry Potter are carded but few of them are out... I was awared that this toy was made in 2001... then I like to put in two figures... One Harry and one Lockhart for nice look and displaying it...

Shocked enough to see name Professor Lockart in light in that toy!!! I know that Dueling Lockart was made in THIS YEAR (2003)! How did they do that?!?!? I am very curious with next figure stands in... Hmm...

    Unbelievably cool!
We got this toy on a clearance for my son who is a huge Harry Potter fan. We thought since it was inexpensive, who cares if it's a silly toy? He'll enjoy it. I just can't believe how cool it is! We all love watching the different action figures "battling" each other. The laser spells out their names, shows the spells being cast, and has a voice narrating. I don't know how it works, but we have spent hours playing with it! It is a little difficult for smaller children to use, but hey, more fun for mom and dad.

Why don't they make more of the booster paks?
It is fun to see the different pieces. We unfortunatly got this much later than when it came out and it was difficult to find more of the booster paks that contain the collectable stones/spells and action figures that you can add for duels. It is more than a playset, it is the start of a collection. If you already have the figures and stones, you have to have this!

    dumb
it is dumb and boring and my one wont show the spells going back and forth also it is hard to get the paper models that come with it into the slot
