5-0 out of 5 stars My son loves these!
We bought these action figures for our 3-1/2 year old son two weeks ago, and since then he hasn't let them out of his sight! They will stand on their own with a little work, but depending on how old your child is, he or she may not care. These are especially good for young Scooby fans, as they have no small parts to lose and seem to be quite sturdy. Considering the amount of fun our son has gotten out of these, they are an excellent value for the price.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fun with some problems
I got this set the other day and here is what i noticed. the box is very collector friendly it is square with a mystery machine graphic across it with a window in the center. There are no twist ties inside and everything can fit back in well. on the yellow cardboard behind the plastic holding the figures in there are bios of each character with last names addresses and ages (all but shaggy are 16, he's 17 and scooby's 7). The figures are well sculpted and niceyly articulated but there is one glaring problem, the feet on these figures are not made for standing. they are not flat on the bottom (except scooby's). While some figures can be balanced in a standing position with some effort, others it is almost impossible (ironically fred and daphne). So these look great in the package but in my opinion thats about it ... Read more

"Rut-roh!" There's nothing more frightening to Scooby-Doo than losing his munchies. Kids can help him and his human companions figure out a culinary mystery using LeapPad's multisensory, experiential learning interface. In Scooby-Doo and the Disappearing Donuts, kids see, hear, say, and touch throughout the book, making it easier to retain and enhance oral, vocabulary, and phonics skills while developing concrete reading-comprehension skills.

It's simple to use (just insert the cartridge and book into a LeapPad, and use the attached stylus to hear information), but this system is an innovative technology that provides entertaining, effective learning, designed by a Stanford-trained reading expert. As well, the system has been credited with the TMA's Educational Toy of the Year and People's Choice awards.

Two notes: Make sure the LeapPad book you get is appropriate for the child's educational level; this one should be a challenge for kids up to age 6. As well, know that some LeapBooks work on both LeapPad and LeapPad Pro, like this one, but some books only work with one system. --Diane Beall ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Learning with leap
I recently ordered this book for my son who is 4. With the leap pad books your child can learn the basics and phonics and soon be reading on their own. In just a few weeks he has learned to sound out letters and a few words in the book. Of course, Scooby will keep your interest over and over again. This is a great beginning for your pre-schooler. Also check out the other leap pad products available for all age groups.

love that leap pad
Alex got this for his birthday and it was the ONLY thing he wanted to pay with for the rest of the day!

Lots of fun..
My 2 kids love just about every LeapFrog book that we've purchased. This particular Scooby Doo story is a lot of fun and the games that are included in the book keep the kids attention.

I give 3 stars for durability, as I will for all Leap Books, only because the book does not provide storage for the cartridge. It sure would be nice if the books had small plastic sleeves for the related cartridge. We have a number of books and keeping the books and cartridges together are a little tough. The chances of losing the small cartridges will keep my durability rating lower than 5.

Also, the 3 stars for durability is related to a design "flaw". The wire from the pen and the bottom of the book are constant fighting for space. To turn the page, without possibly bending the page, requires you to hold the wire down so it doesn't interfere with the page. Easy enough for an adult to do, however my 5 year old doesn't remember to hold the wire down all the time. 50% of all of our pages have creases in the bottom of the pages...all in the same spot!

another winner
The best part about this was that Uncle J was paying more attention to it than A - he said he just wanted to know how it ended.

SCOOBY-RIFIC!
My 3 1/2 year old son loves this leapfrog story. The story is the perfect length for a toddler showing interest in stories and certainly keeps his attention. The games on each page are enjoyable - my husband and I get a kick out of them too. Well worth the money. ... Read more

Who can explain the never-ending popularity of Scooby-Doo? Though he was the last "cast member" added to the now-classic Hanna-Barbera cartoon show about crime fighting teen squadron, Mr. Doo was clearly the breakout star. This charming sleeping bag, intended more for sleepovers than legitimate outdoor camping, features Scoob blowing bubbles with the familiar dopey expression on his face that fans have come to know and love. The bag is purple with a purple interior, measure 30"x 57, made of polyester, and is 100% machine washable. Both boys and girls will love this sleeping bag if they can just keep it away from those meddling teenagers. --Charlie Williams ... Read more

Love This Game!
Another edition of Monopoly. The all time classic game. I collect Monopoly games and I just had to buy one. We opened it and played it and now I have to have another one (unopened) to add to my vast collection. Hasbro has done it again. It's a great game for the kids because it helps teach them about money...spending etc. Way to go Hasbro! ... Read more

Editorial Review

Scooby-Doo and the Haunted Castle is part of LeapFrog’s range of interactive books designed to be used with their LeapPad learning system. The pack contains a spiral-bound book and a cartridge. Simply slot both the book and the cartridge into the appropriate areas on the LeapPad and you’re ready to start.

This particular title is recommended for children at stage 2 of the LeapPad library, which is children between 6 and 8 years old. The story itself features the popular cartoon character Scooby-Doo and his friends and is 55 pages (8 chapters) long--an ideal length for young readers starting to read by themselves. Viewers of the Scooby-Doo TV series won’t be surprised to learn that Scooby-Doo and the Haunted Castle closely follows the same story format. The gang is driving though a dark and stormy night (what else?) when the Mystery Machine gets a puncture. Going to the nearest house for help (which turns out to be the usual spooky Gothic mansion), the gang is invited to stay for supper by the owner, Clift Montgomery (like the actor Montgomery Clift--get it?). It turns out that Clift has recently agreed to donate the house to the local council as a museum. Their fellow dinner guests include various prominent local citizens who all have their objections to the plan. Clift’s sudden dramatic disappearance gives the gang a new mystery to solve, although as always Scooby requires bribery in the form of his favorite Scooby Snacks before he’ll join in. Naturally, when the villain is eventually unmasked, his parting riposte is, "I would have gotten away with it if it weren’t for those kids and their pesky dog."

The LeapPad comes with a special touch-sensitive pen--follow the story by using it to touch the words on the page. The story is read aloud by a male American voice, which can sound rather stilted during the dialogue between characters, especially Shaggy and Scooby, who have their own distinctive styles of speaking. Touch the pictures of the main characters on the first page to identify them and learn a little fact about each of them, in the authentic voices from the TV series. (Who would have guessed that Shaggy’s real name is Norville "Shaggy" Rogers?) The music used throughout the story creates a suitably spooky ambience. To hear a short synopsis of each chapter, use the pen to touch the chapter heading. By touching the pictures throughout the story, you will hear some very amusing sound effects (the wobble noise and Velma’s trademark exclamation of "Jinkies!" are particularly notable). The story contains 120 vocabulary words designed to be slightly more challenging (such as mystery, nowhere and skidded)--these are highlighted throughout the text and repeated in a glossary at the end of the book. Touch any of the glossary words and the recorded voice pronounces it correctly and offers a short definition. Comprehension and memory are tested in the Haunted Castle Challenge game, where you’re asked questions about the story and use the pen to touch the picture of the appropriate answer.

Scooby-Doo and the Haunted Castle is an entertaining if slightly predictable tale designed to build reading confidence. Importantly, it also encourages children to think about the meaning of words in context and tests understanding of plot and characters. --Alison Drury ... Read more

a very difficult "Leap 2" book
This was very difficult for my 6-year-old to read. Not as much fun as some of the other books. Beware of the leap 2's marked "Chapter Book." It requires pointing at each individual word and listening to a somewhat monotone voice. If he could read at this level, he'd probably just pick up a book on his own and read it without the leap pad.

1-0 out of 5 stars Disappointed
I was very disappointed in this Leap Pad product compared to the others. As far as we can figure out, it won't read the story. The child has to point to the words one at a time. Also, it is seriously lacking in the games that the other Leap Pad books have... I would not recommend it.

5-0 out of 5 stars A lot of fun
My 6 year old daughter has really enjoyed this book (it is recommended for 6 to 8 year olds). She likes the story and the sound effects, as well as the reading comprehension quizzes. A worthwhile LeapPad book to add to your collection.

2-0 out of 5 stars Scooby Doo & the Haunted Castle
This book is 56 pages long. My son 4yrs, cannot use it at all. There are other leap 2 books that are approprate for him, such as the Monsters Inc book - but this one is WAY over his head. Be cautious about the content/pictures vs words of the leap 2 books - inconsistant. ... Read more

This hard-plastic lunch box will definitely start some conversationsamong the lunch crowd. Made of durable plastic and molded to represent TheMystery Machine, this is one kitschy kit. A latch on the front of the van opensthe box lengthwise; inside kids will find a 10-ounce Thermos. The top of the van is half of the storage space, sowhen opening the lunch box, contents may come spilling out. Only Good for the Looks
I purchased this lunch box for my 4 year old son. He was excited to use it for less than a week. It is very bulky. It is also hard to arrange food items in it. He is back to using his old lunchbox now.

Scooby lunch box
My daughter is a absolute Sccooby Lover. This was great all the kids in her class love it too. The only thing is the back hing is breaking and it's only the third month of school. But besides that you can fit a lot of scooby snacks in there.

Didn't last the school year
We bought this for my 9 yr old's lunchbox for school. It barely made it to X-mas before the hinge broke. We managed to rig it so it would still work but then the clasp that holds it shut broke too. It was definitely not worth the money & aggravation.

Splendid
Well, this lunchbox was for me, and I've not broken it. I gave it a 2 star educational value, because the latch is a bit difficult to master. I think it will definitely lend itself to a child's mechanical skills - it did mine. I've gotten a ton of comments on how cool it is which may or may not interest all you moms. It is a pretty nifty little lunchbox for kids, though. Lots more room than the ones I remember from school.

Needs a Slight Overhaul
There's no arguing that this box is cute. And it is big enough to accomodate the thermos as well as the lunch. But it has some design issues. As others have mentioned, it is hard for a child to open. It also has lots of nooks and crannies that are impossible to clean. The decals prevent a dishwasher from being an option. One day of spilled beverage grows new (undesirable) food forms in the box. ... Read more

Greetings From Gooseberry Land
Howdy boys and girls. It's your friendly neighbor, Mr. Gooseberry (for some reason people call me Mr. Lunatic). You may have read my excellent review of Sonic DX for game cube. I hope they invent gooseberry gamecube. Or goosecube. I'd buy fifty! Anyways children, this Scooby Doo doll is very fun. It'a a little mechanical dog that says "Hello Mr. Goosey", "Did you eat your gooseberry pie?" and "I'm gonna throw a gooseberry pie at you!". Reminds me of the good old adventures with gooseberries I had with little Jimmy. Little Jimmy is a fat little fellow that choked on a gooseberry pie and died. Ah well. At his funeral we ate gooseberry pie. Now what was I reviewing? Hmmm, I forget. Oh well. Gooseberry goodbye, honk honk!

A Fun Friend
My toddler, a big Scooby fan, has enjoyed this stuffed animal. He is the "flatter" type with less stuffing, which makes him just perfect as a pillow or for cuddling. It took her a few times to find out how to push the ear just in the right place for the voice since you have to squeeze from both sides, but she got the hang of it. He says (in a good Scooby voice) "I love you," "Can I have a hug?" and "Aw, that was the best hug ever." Nice quality. ... Read more

For slumber parties, naptime, or travel, this indoor sleeping bag makes cozydreaming for fans of Scooby-Doo. Not worth the money I spent
Sure, its Scooby Doo, and my son loves Scooby Doo, but he just got it yesterday and the zipper has come off track 3 times already. Plus, its almost impossible to sleep under, as the fabric with Scooby on it makes so much noise when it rubs against something. Not the greatest buy.

4-0 out of 5 stars Outdoor fun
My fiance and I bought this sleeping bag as a birhtday gift for his 3 year old niece. She love's Scooby Doo and she loved this sleeping bag. First change she got, she and her father camped out in the back yard with her new sleeping bag- her first camping experience! She also uses it to cuddle up in the living room for a nap or while she is watching TV. When she gets older I hope she'll use it for sleepovers too.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Gift
My grandsn loves his sleeping bag.

5-0 out of 5 stars nice sleeping bag
My son loves his scooby doo sleeping bag. What more can I say. It is a sleeping bag. The zipper works well.

4-0 out of 5 stars In great shape, a year and a half later!
My son uses this sleeping bag all the time, and it gets washed a couple times each week. The colors are still very bright, and the material has held up well.

It's surprisingly warm, but in the summer it won't make him sweaty. We live in L.A., and during the winter it's all he needs, and in the summer it isn't too hot. I don't know what material is used to make these bags, but it's great!!

(I've slept under this sleeping bag, so I know what I'm talking about first-hand.)

I can highly recommend this sleeping bag. Scooby is just so cute! ... Read more

Kids like it, but little value for the $
My kids are huge Scooby fans and love this. I think the game is too short (5 minutes tops) and too easy for them (ages 5 and 8). Based on that, I think it's too much money for what you get. There are better games out there.

4-0 out of 5 stars Surprise! Great game and great value!
Not sure of why this game was so urgently requested by my third grader, I bought it only to find out that it really is fun! The name of the game speaks to avid Scooby and Shaggy fans of the appropriate age bracket but, the game moves quickly, play continues easily and one round leads quickly to another. For the price, its a perfect birthday gift with appeal to little sibs for recognition of the characters. No big challenge but great for kids learning the ins and outs of board game play. ...
